However, Dr. Burren (from whom he purchased the practice) no longer has anything to do with the practice. After going to Dr. Burren for 10+ years, I was used to an efficiently run dentist's office and a dentist with kind bedside manner and a willingness to take the time to converse with you and get into details in regards to any questions you had about your teeth. My experience here was different. I arrived just in time for my appointment, but waited for about 10 minutes in the waiting room. When Dr. Burren ran the place, you never waited more than 2 minutes, tops. When the time came, my hygienist did a great job, but because she had not been properly trained on the new software which Dr. Sirin used, my appointment took longer than necessary and made for what I would describe as an "un-smooth" experience. When she was done, I waited another 10 minutes for Dr. Sirin to come in. When he did, he gave me a brief greeting, looked at my x-rays, and said, "What's the plan for these wisdom teeth?" Somewhat confused as to why a professional was asking me how I plan to proceed in regards to the very professional services for which he was paid, I said, "I don't know...you tell me?" With little to no explanation he told me that they should come out and that the receptionist would give me a referral and that was about it. When I went to pay the bill, the cost was significantly more for similar services than it was under Dr. Burren. I don't like writing bad reviews, but my hope is that other former patients of Dr. Burren will see this review and as a result save a bit of their precious time and money...two things for which, in regards to his patients, Dr. Burren had more respect.

EVERY staff member was extremely welcoming and personable. My hygienist was super sweet, engaged in fun conversation, and was very gentle with the cleaning (a nice change from my previous dentist office haha). I have had nothing but pleasant and easy cleanings. When I have needed to get cavities filled the team has ensured I am comfortable and not in pain. They even provide dental cleanings for young kids. I don't know the third dentist (Dr Javad, I think), so this review is a reflection on the office staff and not him. When I heard Drs Albazzaz/Safi left, I called to inquire about what happened. I had a hard time getting a live person to answer and when I did, she was clueless and said her manager would call me. No call back. I called again a couple weeks later and left a voicemail explaining that I had questions as to what was going on with their practice. Again, no call back. I'd had enough, so found a new dentist and called to cancel my upcoming appt at North Ave Dental Associates. I explained why I was leaving and they canceled my appt. Then, lo and behold, I get a call from their office a few weeks later asking to set up my next appt. I politely told them for the second time that I was no longer a customer. My wife had an even worse time- she emailed them in March to request her dental records as the new dentist required them. No response. She had to follow up both by email and phone several more times between then and early August before they FINALLY sent the requested records. Dealing with a dentist office should not be this difficult. The dentists here may be fine, but so are a lot of other dentists and many of them would come without the office staff headaches.
