I had a great experience yesterday as a new patient! I was nervous searching for a new Dentist, but Second Street Dental made the transition so easy. EVERY staff member was extremely welcoming and personable. My hygienist was super sweet, engaged in fun conversation, and was very gentle with the cleaning (a nice change from my previous dentist office haha). I feel really lucky to have found such an awesome dentist so close to home! Second Street is location in the perfect spot in downtown St. Charles. This team is amazing! I've been coming here for a couple years now and always feel right at home. Everything from the moment you walk in to when you leave, the entire staff is very friendly. I have had nothing but pleasant and easy cleanings. When I have needed to get cavities filled the team has ensured I am comfortable and not in pain. They even provide dental cleanings for young kids. I have 2 kids (5 and almost 3) who have gone and the team does really well with them to try and keep them entertained (put on a show while they are cleaning) as well as incentivize them with prizes afterwards. read more

We are new to town and found Second Street Dental through Yelp and other reviews. Our family is glad we chose Second Street Dental, this the 5 review. To begin the staff is pleasant to work with on your first time call to set up your first visit. Location is easy to find, and has good parking. The lobby is comfortable and has a kids area with toys and books to keep the kiddos entertained. The hygienist and dentists are all easy going and not constantly pressuring you to get extra work done that is not need. Everything is explained and if work is needed they are accommodating on options. If looking for a good dental office stop looking and give Second Street Dental a call. read more

I normally do not write reviews but I had a routine filling done about 2 and half weeks ago. Per expected I was experiencing pain and sensitivity to temperature. However, the pain symptoms did not go away, if fact it got worse and I could no longer floss or chew due to the pain. As the dentist requested, I waited about 2 weeks before calling to schedule an appointment. I called to schedule an appointment and described my situation and they said the soonest I can come in to have it corrected is in 3 weeks. I pleaded to come in sooner due to the fact my pain had worsened, however, they were unmoved by that fact and said they'd love to schedule me 3 weeks out. They clearly don't care about the quality of their work nor do they have any interest in correcting their mistakes in a timely manner. I will never go back to this dentist! read more

I was a patient here for a year..maybe more. The ladies at the front desk are nice and friendly. It is easy to schedule apportionments. They are quick and there's not a lot of waiting around. With that being said. I moved to the area about a year and a half ago. I made my dentist appointment for 6 months after I had had my last cleaning back in Colorado. I then came here and they did x rays etc and told me that I had 6 cavities (my teeth never bothered me).I should have questioned this more. Not sure how someone gets 6 cavities at once in 6 months- a year. I went ahead and scheduled 2 different appointments to get the fillings done. I typically saw Dr. Hayes when I went for appointments. She is professional and nice. One of my appointments was with Dr. Colella. He was very rough when filling my cavities. One of them hurt for weeks after. I called and they said oh that's normal just take pain reliever for it, it was a large, deep filling. The pain subsided and then every few weeks it would flare up. When I returned for a-cleaning I told them and they brushed it off and said maybe I would need to see a specialist. I decided not to return to Second Street Dental after that. I recently went to a new dentist who said those six cavities were so small he wouldn't have filled them- just kept an eye on them. He also said the one that is bothering me that they told me was large and deep was not, but it was also very small. I feel like Second Street Dental was just having me get my fillings to make money. I am extremely disappointed and now will have to deal with flare ups for my one filling. My current dentist said having the pain I had after the filling is NOT normal like Second Street had told me it was. I'm sorry to say I would not send anyone here. read more

As a person who's been to a few dentists over the years, Second Street Dental is top-notch in my book. In the two years that I've been a client, the front desk staff has always been polite, knowledgeable and accommodating. Most recently, I had my first crown done for aesthetic purposes. I had a discolored front tooth for 30 years that drove my mom crazy. I had it bonded as a child, but she forced me to get it fixed permanently and I was rather uneasy about the whole process. Dr. Hayes was nothing short of an angel when dealing with my concerns and talking me through the process. The color of the crown is perfect and I am extremely happy with the finished product. I feel very comfortable and taken care of by Dr. Hayes. She's personable, relatable and makes you feel comfortable no matter what state your teeth are in and that's extremely important to me. read more

Our experience with Dr. Marco Colella in April of 2017 was terrible. I brought my daughter in for a cavity filling, which turned into a nightmarish attempted tooth extraction. My daughter had been praised by her former dentist in Chicago for how tough she was and an overall excellent patient. Dr. Colella was impatient, rude, and clearly incompetent in the procedure he attempted. I would recommend everyone stay away from him. By the time he had attempted to extract her tooth for the third time, my daughter was crying so hard she could no longer keep her mouth open. He repeatedly scolded her, saying how "she had made him 30 minutes late and he had other patients to see!" Finally, when I could not endure her obvious pain and his disrespect any longer, he admitted he would need to refer her to another dentist. He then had the audacity to follow up and call me a few days later and again inferred it was my daughter who "couldn't handle it" and offered no apology for his unprofessional conduct. He should not be a practicing dentist and I feel badly for the friendly and helpful staff at Second Street because he will ruin the reputation of their office. We are very happy to have found Dayspring Pediatric Dentistry in St. Charles as my daughters dentist going forward. I would highly recommend them! read more

This was the best decision I've made ever when it comes to Dentists. From the hygenist (so sad I can't remember her name) who was awesome...so kind and informative to Doc Molly herself I cannot recommend this place any higher. The people are very nice but the dentists/staff rotate quickly and it is really no different than going to a storefront dentist and see someone different each time. Dr Molly blindsided me. I had a tooth problem, went there to see her, came back a few weeks later to find out she had retired without informing me. I was sent to a brand new (inexperienced?) dentist. That was the last time I will ever go there. Over the years I had had several mishaps with Dr Molly, a permanent crown that fell out while I was in the parking lot leaving the dentist, other things. I had been very accommodating, ... taking it with a smile, ... but this was the last straw. read more

The staff is very friendly and helpful. I really liked Dr Hayes a lot; she has a great personality. They were all very gentle when working in my mouth which put me at ease and I also really like how they have their own insurance plan. Lisette at the front desk is EXTREMELY helpful when understanding my insurance and coverage. My only negatives is I felt I've received more thorough cleanings at past practices and I felt rushed when Dr Hayes came in. She was very nice but kind of ran in and ran out and I would have appreciated more time because I left with a handful of questions that were unanswered. read more

What a great practice! I've only been to the office twice, but I felt really comfortable there. Dr. Hayes is very nice and competent, and her office staff and hygienists are great. Everyone is warm and welcoming. I first learned about Second Street because I bought a great Groupon deal ($50 for cleaning, exam, AND X-rays!) since I don't have dental insurance. After finding a cavity at my exam and learning that I'm uninsured, Dr. Hayes offered to fill my cavity for only the price of a sealant (saving me $151 dollars). It was so thoughtful of her and really meant a lot to me since I probably wouldn't have been able to afford to the filling without a discount. I will definitely be visiting this dentist and practice again! read more

I have been coming to Second Street Dental since I was a young girl in my teens. I saw Dr. Dohan for years, and now see Dr. Molly Hayes. I found the transition between the two to be very easy, and find the new and maintained staff to be wonderful, friendly, and efficient. They take many forms of insurance, are continuing to improve the practice and bring in the latest in technology and treatments, and have a great location. One of my favorite features about this dental office though is the hours they have- I appreciate any doctors or dentist office that has hours that allow me to come for appointments without having to take time off of work- this is much appreciated. I will definitely continue to come to this dentist and location in the future- and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a dentist. read more
