The next refill they UNDERFILLED me even though I asked for a topping off to take advantage of lower prices. Then they charged me $100. because they said I didn't use enough propane during the year. I contested the charge with my bank and got a refund... Recently I started doing business with Eastern Propane (a very professional company so far) and asked Rymes to pick up their bottles over 3 weeks ago and was told there was a large charge of around $175 for the pickup plus another hefty charge if more than 5% of the propane still remained in the tanks. You call their 800# and you get a recording telling you repeatedly you're next in line but no one answers, when you activate the auto callback #, it simply hangs up and no callback ever happens. Rymes (now Superior Propane) is a terrible company to deal with and I'm just sorry I can't rate them below 1 star!

He swapped out one of the circulators as he assessed that the air was not circulating properly. When he was done, I asked him how much I owed, and he told me that he doesn't get involved in that, and all the billing comes out of the office, and I will receive a bill in the mail. No paperwork to have the customer sign--the first sign of unprofessional conduct. I was rather surprised when the bill for $389.48 arrived. The part was about $170, which didn't seem unreasonable, but the labor charged was for 1.75 hours. This did not seem correct to me, as I was here the entire time and was puttering around in the basement while he worked on the circulator. It was probably around half an hour, but it could have been as much as 45 minutes, but definitely not more. I estimated from about 1:00 PM-1:30PM, maybe 1:45PM at the latest. When I called to question the time, I was immediately transferred over to the local office. She checked the time log and told me that he arrived here at 11:45AM and left at 1:20PM, and he does not lie about the times on his logs. Furthermore, I know travel time, which they would have legitimately charged for, couldn't have been that much, since he called beforehand and said he was in Bristol, which is only a few miles away. One could be a few minutes off here and there, but to be off a complete hour is a total fabrication. Something is very not kosher here. At any rate, she got nasty and defensive and told me that she would grant me a one-time credit of half an hour ($62.50), but if I'm going to dispute every time I get a charge from Rymes, then I could take my business elsewhere. Mind you, this is the first time I've ever disputed a charge from Rymes. I have now taken my business elsewhere and changed companies, just as she recommended. I would recommend to anyone using this company (or office) to be sure and check any labor charges they bill you for. They are not trustworthy and definitely not professional. What company comes out to do service and doesn't get the customer to sign a service receipt before they leave? What company treats their customer so rudely with an indifferent attitude?

Their trucks are a ubiquitous presence in the neighborhoods and highways. We've been dealing with Rymes since we bought our home three years ago. We're highly satisfied with their service both propane and also customer orientation. The automatic delivery system frees us from having to constantly check on our propane - even though I am cognizant of the level just because I'm obsessed with preparedness and I start calling when the level goes below 40% (the same propane tank powers the standby whole-house generator so a good supply is necessary). I gather they've got used to my consternation and the tank seldom goes below 50% before I have a tanker pulling to the house. Rymes offers convenient payment plans, whether market rate, fixed rate, graduated, etc. Some are clear winners if the price remains stable or decreases, some grant peace of mind against fluctuating prices during the Winter. Something for everyone. We most recently purchased a new water heater as replacement for our old one. Dealing with Jeff in the pricing, purchase and installation has been a pleasure. Wholeheartedly recommended.
