And told me that I should stay hydrated. Especially in the heat . Which I agreed with 100 percent. Because it was so hot and very humid yesterday. Her name was Cadence. She was very nice and kind. She provided excellent customer service. And she made my day better. I just wanted to recognize her . Because I have worked as a cashier and in food service in the past. I've given Dead End Bakery multiple chances, but every visit has been disappointing. My order is almost always wrong. The bagels aren't toasted, the meat has been undercooked, and they somehow mess up my coffee every time. The worst experience was when I waited an hour and a half for my order, and after politely asking about it, an employee told me, "It's just a bagel, relax." Today was the last chance. Hello dear Ocnj visitors and locals. I write to you under poor circumstances this morning. I do not recommend Dead End Bakehouse. Not only are there an absurd number of flies here, there are legitimately multiple species of flies in the restaurant. They failed to toast my friend's bagel. On my other friend's bagel they cut the top half but did not cut the bottom half. There were no napkins in the napkin holder- any of them. I once again cannot stress how many flies there were. Also, the bagels taste like bread. Took an absurd amount of time for my bagel to be made so I was forced to sit in the fly cesspool for much longer than I wanted. Amazing that they were open the day after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately they were running out of bagels quickly this morning and the poor girls working alone had a lot of orders to fill. But we were in no rush so we waited. Keep in mind this may not be a quick stop if they are understaffed. Overall my bagel was amazing. I love how much I could customize it. It was a bit expensive so I wouldn't do it all the time but I was a nice breakfast treat with family. Highly recommend getting their sourdough loaf to go. If you don't order ahead, your day will be a dead end. We waited 45 minutes for two bagel sandwiches... In December. It was 34° out. The bagels and the breakfast sandwiches are terrific, but plan ahead! The ordering system on toast is great. You can just do Apple Pay. Don't believe the wait time, double it. I came here with my friends on a Monday morning and we all ordered a bagel me and two of my other friends got bagel sandwiches and they came out within like 15 minutes. But my other friend's bagel was a toasted bagel with a spread, and it took them 40 minutes and me saying something for them to give us a bagel. My favorite bagels in Ocean City! I'm a big fan of the HMRX group and their signature colorful nostalgic eateries. Dead End Bakehouse is no exception!! My favorite parts: the pastries, doughy bagels, generous spreads, and delicious coffee My critiques: there's always a wait when you order in-store (this can be avoided by ordering online before you arrive), and parking around 10th and Bay isn't the best. Dead End is one of my favorite spots for grab and go breakfast and pastries. It's close to the 9th street bridge, open year round, and the food is delicious. Used to go here a few times during the summer during my years in OC. Unfortunately, a few months ago they decided to post a customer in a "Trump was right about everything" hat and continued to stand by it and mock people who expressed that it was wrong. They even still have it up on their instagram and I've attached below. I hope you understand what values they have and make better choices picking where to eat. Great food I had from somerspoint place so I wanted to try this location. Crazy long waits. We ordered in person and from when card was swiped to walking out door it was 35 minutes. I was wish a friend who ordered right after me and they got their food at that 35 minute mark so mine is defiantly cold by time we left. I guess they are prioritizing mobile orders? Aptly named, this is a "dead-end" for quality and service. You'll likely go here anyway because you've rented a place around the corner and don't feel like walking an extra block to a higher quality place - but you should really think twice about skipping the "dead end." Teenagers are dismissive and disinterested by nature, but the dead-end staff seems to lower the bar even farther. They really don't care - what you've ordered, how long you've waited - really about anything. And they make sure you know it!! The terrible service pairs well with the substandard food. The one thing the café of miserable teens was able to do is screw up a bacon, egg, and cheese. That is an accomplishment!
