Quick dessert stop on a trip to Pompeii; Everything was quite decent! Pastiera was unbelievable! Really soft and fresh and had the perfect amount of sweetness and that hint of lemon coming through. Such a good dessert. I could totally have another slice! Crostata al cioffolato - chocolate flavor was nice but the pastry was a little too dry so overall this item wasn't as nice. Affogato - quite a large amount of coffee and the gelato felt a little too less. So the espresso flavor came through very strong. Love the presentation for this though! Passion fruit gelato - had a little tanginess to it (not properly sweet) but I actually quite enjoyed it! Kinder gelato was probably the favorite among the other gelato flavors fried. In the heart of Pompei, right after you visit the ruins, you can find this amazing place which is a Bakery/Gelatery and we couldn't stop trying their special little things. Great little cafe and patisserie. Had a cafe latte that was delicious, a green tea, and shared 3 pastries that were to die for. We had the crostata (basically a shortbread pie base with chocolate/Nutella on top), a graffa (potato donut), and their tiramisu. All delicious. We also arrived dripping wet after getting caught in a hail storm, and the servers were lovely to us, showing us where we could hang jackets to dry and try to warm up. This place has the best pastries ever. Period. Mom and I frequented this shop while we were in Pompeii. The coffee was excellent as well. Service was friendly and always accommodating since neither one of us speak Italian and were pretty awful at it when we tried. If you are in town, come here and try everything. read more
