    Carolina's Enchiladas
    Xhané P.

Absolutely wonderful first visit with sis in law! Loved the attention to detail in the space, the music that was just loud enough to have conversation yet still enjoy the happy instrumentals, the both bright and muted colors and beautiful mural in the back - the entire restaurant was adorable, and much bigger than we thought before stepping inside. Service and food was even better! Owner attentive to guests and walking throughout restaurant, even asking staff to fix a wobbly table before seating guests at it. Pictured is Carolina's Enchiladas, chips and salsa. Docked a star because sis in law did not enjoy her margarita; the frozen margarita machine was not at its best today so got her marg on the rocks instead but it lacked luster. She plans to try the original frozen one next time. Would definitely come again with friends, a date night with hubby, business meet up, any occasion will do!

The street tacos were great. The carne asada was my favorite. Seasoned to perfection. The drinks were not watered or over made with syrup. I would definitely return just for the drinks. The greeters were welcoming and the server allowed the meal to flow without excessive interruptions. The atmosphere was very pleasant, you feel as if you're stepping into a different place from the outside.

    Pollo con mole

I've been excitedly waiting for De Nada to open, and every minute was worth it! The inside is so cozy and warm, and the food is heavenly! From classic Tex-Mex options to dishes with elevated spin, De Nada's menu is nothing short of spectacular. I already know this will be a spot that I frequent when I'm in downtown Birmingham. What we ordered: Pollo con Mole- you can't go wrong with this classic dish. Every ingredient paired well with one another, and the sauce was delicious. Mahi Mahi- the avocado lime dressing was so good, I had to ask for more on the side. The mahi was seasoned to perfection and left me full all night. Bonus... both of our entrees were served with FRESHHH WARM TORTILLAS! These were to die for. I know I'll be back!

Okay, let's start with the aesthetics. This place is gorgeous, down to the little folders your check comes in at the end. They clearly paid attention to the details. The service was a bit spotty, but that's somewhat expected for a brand-new restaurant. There were two things that stood out, though: we asked for lime wedges for the tacos, and they were brought out in someone's bare hands instead of on a plate or napkin, which was off-putting. Also, our server asked if the food was "fully cooked"... which, I mean, I would certainly hope so lol. The appetizers (queso, salsa, and patatas bravas) were definitely the highlight - super flavorful and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the entrees (chimichanga and steak street tacos) didn't quite measure up. The steak was chewy, and overall the dishes were lacking flavor. The pineapple agua fresca, though? Absolutely fire. Overall, I'd be willing to give this place another shot, but I'll probably wait 6 months to a year to let them work out the kinks.

    Emmas Quesadilla Plate with chicken

Restaurant just officially opened today. Came here for lunch with friends. Very friendly and inviting atmosphere. The menu is sure to have something for everyone. They do not have their liquor license yet but will soon. I ordered the Emmas Quesadilla plate with chicken... delicious. The chicken was nicely seasoned. The owner came to the table to see how our experience was which was very personable. I cannot wait to come back to try another dish. And Aimelis was a wonderful server!!

The chicken tortilla soup best in the metro hands down. Tons of chicken with plenty of veggies. Flavor bomb. The burrito was good. Very classy decor with an upscale menu. Tons of margarita options and cold beer to choose from. Service was excellent and server was very attentive. The bathroom was very nice and clean. Parking can be somewhat of a challenge, overall experience was great. We will definitely be back for the soup and to try some other menu options.

Overall, good place to eat. Right now, they do not have their liquor license so no margaritas with your entrée. I did get a side quesadilla because the waitress said the quesadillas were rather large. The quesadilla was good. The flowered tortilla was very tasty, however, the steak was a touch salty and there were an odd either prosciutto or bacon in it. Was not expecting that. But the quesadilla was good. The salsa and chips were nice and fresh. I did split some queso, but it was very small and a little on the expensive side. Seating was not really comfortable. I sat at a booth. Maybe different if I sat in a table chair combo. I would like to go back and try a few other things.

My daughter's dinner choice was excellent. De Nada, a newly opened spot (just 2 weeks ago), offers a warm, rustic atmosphere that feels like home, combined with great service despite a few team members not showing up for work. The GM ensured guests had a great experience by asking for authentic feedback. All the dishes we enjoyed had robust flavors that tickled our palate and were delicious and truly satisfying. Lastly, although their liquor license hasn't been approved yet, I can only imagine how great the drinks will be! De Nada is a must-try for excellent food and service.

Birmingham's newest hotspot! Upscale Mexican is exactly what the Parkside district has needed, and we didn't even know it until now. I got the Chile Relleno with chicken. Great flavors, lots of cheese pulls, and all-around delicious. Would definitely get this again! Prices are a little high, but worth it for the absolutely beautiful atmosphere and the great food. Will definitely be back!

Great new spot for the area! Fun decor and music throughout the restaurant. Food was a great bite for a quick lunch.

Girlfriend and I stopped in before the barons game. I love the design of the restaurant, old buildings turned restaurants are always something I enjoy. We got a table very quick, chips and salsa as soon as we sat down, bottled beers only but ICE COLD glass to go with it. We both ordered the steak protein bowl which was phenomenal (definitely large enough to split but didn't know at the time) we had outstanding service from Keily and will definitely come back!

I checked this place out on a whim driving through Birmingham. Being a restaurant in downtown Birmingham, it's easy to expect the parking to be horrible. That's not the restaurant's fault. The service was pretty normal. I was seated promptly. The waitress checked in regularly. The atmosphere was ok. Nice lighting. Now the best part. The food! I got chips and salsa, Chile relleno, and Martinez margarita. The salsa tasted incredibly fresh. You can tell it was made that day. Incredible taste. The Chile relleno was one of the best I've had in a long time. The freshness was superb, the presentation beautifully, and the taste heavenly. I'm not even a fan of refried beans, but theirs was really delicious. The drink was very flavorful and well made. I feel this restaurant would be perfect to go to after a Barons or Stallions or Legions game. It's also perfect for a date night or solo quick bar eat.

Went with my coworkers to try this new upscale Mexican spot and we were all impressed. The chips were light and not greasy, the salsa was fresh and bright. I was excited to try thr Pollo mole and it was one of the best moles I have tried. The sauce was deep and rich and savory and the tortilla was freshly made and warm. Also tried the ribeye torta and it was also a hit. The fries actually were skin on potatoes and had a unique seasoning that I loved. Other coworkers tried steak enchiladas, burritos, chicken quesadilla and everyone agrees we would be back. The only thing we did not like was the queso bc it was a bit too thin. It is upscale so actually pretty pricy compared to traditional Mexican places but the quality shines and it is vastly superior to the million standard Mexican places around town. I would say it is comparable to el Royale but we all agreed that it was better. The service was knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations bc we always ask lots of questions. We had sunday lunch and we're able to get in and out within 45min.

It was almost like a chopped Caesar salad and it was just the right amount for a small girl dinner. If you like Parmesan cheese, this is a must order as they do not skimp on that! What was really nice however was that you couldn't tell the food was from a food truck. It was great quality and you are able to order from inside the bar and they deliver it to you. That was a great service. I can't quite remember which cocktail I got, but it was very delicious and at one point the server had even given me a new chilled glass so my drink would remain cold as I sipped on it. This is definitely a great date night spot or just a place to grab a drink with friends, definitely a little more upscale as we were there in the evening, so the lights were dim. I won't drop my rating as it's spring time in the South but I remember being cold immediately as I walked in- but that's typical for a lot of places.

The menu rotates seasonally, which makes it easier to try new things. My favorite menu item so far has been the cheeseball that was on the menu around Christmas time. It had a great flavor served with crackers the only thing is when we came back after the first of the year it wasn't on the menu anymore. On my most recent visit I had the queso which also had great flavor, served with blue corn tortilla chips. When it comes to the drinks I like how on the menu they let you know how strong it is using toucans. Many of the drinks feature rum, but they do still offer some gin and tequila options. Everything I've had has been good and something I would try again. I would like to note that many of the drinks are fruity and can be somewhat sweet. At Christmas time they even had holiday themed drinkware which I felt was a nice touch. If you are not a drinker, they also have options for mocktails. Which has been great for me the last couple of months. I didn't care for the Phony Negroni, but I think Negroni itself might be an acquired taste

The menu varies so don't expect this menu when you go. The smash burger is dependable and good. The duck fries are pretty awesome, but they seem to be super enthused about their house seasoning, almost to the point of obliteration! It's good; They just need to be a little more judicious with it. Pictured are the noteworthy Brussel sprouts: "$10 BRUSSELS' SPROUTS Red wine balsamic glaze, Agrodolce pearl onions, scallions, fried garlic " You can also have them topped with grilled chicken for a few bucks more. Can Brussels be overcooked? Apparently not. These aren't as charred as the photo suggests. The red wine / balsamic reduction adds a lot of color to them. They may look charred but there's no burned taste in the flavor. I know, those poor little Brussels look overwhelmed, but they're not. They were good in my mouth and belly. One bartender eagerly jumped up to help us, but the rest seemed pretty inconvenienced by our presence. Our bartender was great -- very personable and knowledgeable. That's about the only redeeming factor. The menus were tattered and sticky, bar itself was kinda gross, lipstick marks on our glasses, and our drinks were subpar at best. I believe the theme when we went was something about Italy, so there was a lot of potential for creative drinks, but they all seemed pretty uninspired -- think limoncello, Negronis, etc..
