The ensalata was the stand-out, being their take on a Caesar. Our drinks were awesome, and everyone was incredibly sweet. Our server was excellent, and helped us confidently order each thing on the menu. His descriptions of the plates were phenomenal. Because of the changing menu, we will have to come back. They also had a mango hot sauce brought to the table in a bottle that is amazing. I drenched my bowl with the sauce for the extra kick and flavor. The bowls are very filling. I have had some meals at the bar where the bartenders were genuinely engaged knowledgeable and happy to walk you through their agave list which only enhances the whole experience. I will be honest and say that the service can sometimes lean into the typical Portland vibe of aloof and uninterested but there have also been moments especially at the bar where the staff really shines and makes you feel welcome and taken care of. Even with that quirk the overall experience is fantastic and it does nothing to take away from how much I enjoy eating here. If you are in Portland and love great tortas bold flavors and exciting drinks Guero is absolutely worth a stop.
