    Asada taco and carnitas taco

Food was good. Ordered a cheese quesadilla and two tacos. The only negative side was the tacos weren't served with lime.

I love their green food trucks!

Poblano Pepper has become one of my favorite Mexican food carts in Portland, especially since there are multiple locations throughout the city with dependable service and reliable quality. I am always greeted with a smile, and made to feel welcomed and appreciated. I know it's been a rough time for food service workers the last few years during the pandemic, so I really respect their jovial nature and service with a smile. I always feel compelled to tip generously, especially at this Barley Pod location. Great folks, indeed! I have ordered everything from simple bean and cheese burritos to complicated orders with multiple substitutions, etc. They are always at the top of their game, and for this reason I've recommended them to a handful of friends who have also reported positive experiences. I wish the Poblano Pepper team the best of luck and continued success!

Wow! If I could give 10 stars I would!! The homemade corn tortillas, the fresh made guacamole, the authentic flavors and seasoning. Absolutely amazing! This would make the best restaurant but is still incredible as a food truck too!!

I was introduced to Poblano by my son who lives nearby and all I have to say is this: great food! Homemade tortillas, vegan options and Mexican coke and Jarritos in bottles! How does it get any better than this? The first time I went to Poblano, I ordered a bean and rice burrito with pico de gallo (my standard go-to) and have continued to order this same burrito every time I go back. I think I need to get out of my rut and Poblano provides options for that, too! Fast service, tasty food, easy access - can't ask for anything more, right?

The food was decent, just not the mexican food i'm used to. (for reference i live in San Antonio, TX) I ordered a chimichanga, refied beans & rice, & a water bottle. My total came out to ~ $23 + tip. The rice was a little dry & it has chicken in it. My chimichanga had the same rice/beans in it coupled with asada & cheese. It was topped with a nice slaw. The flavors however were not blending very well for me & it was really greasy. (I'd recommend ordering the chimichanga w/o the rice). The service was okay. My buzzer went off, but when I went to the window - it was a different order. Before I was able to deduce it wasn't my order I was handed 3 plates & unfortunately dropped someone's taco plate (they did remake that order). They only give silverware/napkins per person so be advised of that. The ambience is quite nice, its a cute little food truck/brewery stop. There is shaded seating & indoor seating.

Delicious food, every time! A bit of a wait, hence the 4 stars, but the flavor makes it worth the wait!

Such a small detail that makes a big difference. The Citrus Salad was super fresh, crisp, and delicious, which balanced everything out perfectly. I also tried the NA classic margarita and it was so refreshing. I loved the subtle touch of orange juice. Overall, such a lovely spot with amazing food, great vibes, and thoughtful details. Today my wife and I enjoyed scrumptious Tacotes, one chicken and one Bok Choy with house made salsa. Extra side of yummy and creamy black bean frijoles with sour cream, butter, tortillas. Instead of desert, the Mezcal, chile and lime was refreshing. Yes, the food plated looks so good, I am inspired to dig in. There's a reason it was recognized early in its start by Eater, Portland Monthly and the Oregonian as one of the best restaurants in the city because foodies seek out and love to go where the food experience is special - especially the chef tasting menus in the past. I was excited to go here as I had been meaning to visit for at least 6 months. I wasn't disappointed. This taqueria is the real deal, and very authentic. I also appreciate it's LGBTQ owned, and like to be inclusive in how I spend money. The tacos are amazing I had two there, and took two home. They were all delicious and not one disappointed. Their taco menu is very extensive, and it's nice that they have a lot of vegetarian options as well. One of my favorites was the one with mole ,and poblanos, also the chicken one, also the carnitas. Flavors so rich and satisfying. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. Extremely quick service which I love. Even though I only speak a little bit of Spanish. I tried, and they were very welcoming. They are fluent in Spanish. I knew it was an authentic taqueria when I heard a native spanish speaker speak Spanish at the counter. I don't want to leave out their drinks as they have quite a selection both alcoholic, and non alcoholic. I tried the horchata, which was amazing. I have been craving Pozole for a long time, and they had it as a special chicken with green sauce, and pork and a red sauce. Both simply amazing and a great deal. This restaurant is very reasonable, and you get quite a lot for the money. Last but not least I can't forget the ambiance which felt very authentic, and reminded me of being in a Taqueria in Mexico or Southern California. the place is decorated very thoughtful with a lot of candles, and many shrines. They also have a love of Mariah Carey and saw many photos of here in the restaurant. They have both outdoor seating and indoor seating. A lot of plants outside which all seem very happy and well cared for. I love this place, and will be going back for sure. The place is very casual which I appreciate. We ordered the bowl, one with carnitas and other with avocado. Both were very tasty! You can tell that the ingredients were fresh, the carnitas were tender and well seasoned. They also had a mango hot sauce brought to the table in a bottle that is amazing. I drenched my bowl with the sauce for the extra kick and flavor. The bowls are very filling. We ended up boxing up half of our food to bring home and finish for a late dinner. Would definitely come again and try their hot sandwiches. I have had some meals at the bar where the bartenders were genuinely engaged knowledgeable and happy to walk you through their agave list which only enhances the whole experience. I will be honest and say that the service can sometimes lean into the typical Portland vibe of aloof and uninterested but there have also been moments especially at the bar where the staff really shines and makes you feel welcome and taken care of. Even with that quirk the overall experience is fantastic and it does nothing to take away from how much I enjoy eating here.
