First time here as I always go to Rose City Taqueria, which is down the street. It's hard to find like my photos will show, but look for the Open and taco's sign out front. I'm conflicted in doing this review, as the establishments usually get busier and they start raising the prices, but oh well. This place is now in my top 3 in Portland for tacos, after only trying the fish/shrimp tacos, but if they are all the same quality as these were, I'm not stepping off my claim. The price on these large fish and shrimp tacos are only $2.50. Find that in Portland, go ahead I'll wait. The portions were plentiful, fresh tasting and flavorful. It's is a true dive, even for a food truck, but you'll not be disappointed in any way. Service was prompt and wait time was exactly as expected for frying fresh. Happy eating and stay safe.

Great tacos, I tried the cameron taco , pescado taco , carne asada taco , and pollo taco . I also got rice and beans . They gave a decent size to go container of salsa verde and a smaller habanero. The meats all tasted fresh, the asada was grilled nicely, fish was nice and battered, and the shrimp were a bunch of little guys without batter rather than one large battered one. Will come back and try a few more things. Tasty tacos, nothing insane or life changing but if this place was in your hood then you're lucky.

If you were driving by and you saw the wooden sign with "tacos" written in black tape, you'd be forgiven for driving past and thinking it was an abandoned food truck. DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE. After eating at such bougie taco spots like Por Que No, I can easily and confidently say that El Coyote is WAY BETTER than them. At $2.50 for a large taco, the food here is a steal (please don't start charging more). Our "fish taco" came with a HUGE piece of fish that was perfectly fried and tucked into its tortilla with a heaping of creamy sauce and cabbage. The "Shrimp Taco" was definitely the winner though. The shrimps were pan seared to perfection: plump, juicy, and with the slightest charry taste of the pan. I don't think I've ever been more satisfied by tacos before. I can't wait to come back to try all their other food!

I was expecting something for presentable for a a chicken taco. Let me just throw this lump and call it good

This is what a chicken taco is just a lump of a piece of breast at least shred the chicken breast no season.

Delicious food always fast, friendly family business that is bilingual as well as made their spot in my Top 3 Latin food places

I said no cilantro three times you confirmed and I got this. It's ruined. I get to try to pick this stuff out now. Look. No one will even notice if you never buy cilantro again. Throw it in the garbage. Otherwise Great flood! Shop locally owned !

Today my wife and I enjoyed scrumptious Tacotes, one chicken and one Bok Choy with house made salsa. Extra side of yummy and creamy black bean frijoles with sour cream, butter, tortillas. Instead of desert, the Mezcal, chile and lime was refreshing. Yes, the food plated looks so good, I am inspired to dig in. I was excited to go here as I had been meaning to visit for at least 6 months. I wasn't disappointed. This taqueria is the real deal, and very authentic. I also appreciate it's LGBTQ owned, and like to be inclusive in how I spend money. The tacos are amazing I had two there, and took two home. They were all delicious and not one disappointed. Their taco menu is very extensive, and it's nice that they have a lot of vegetarian options as well. One of my favorites was the one with mole ,and poblanos, also the chicken one, also the carnitas. Flavors so rich and satisfying. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. Extremely quick service which I love. Even though I only speak a little bit of Spanish. I tried, and they were very welcoming. They are fluent in Spanish. I knew it was an authentic taqueria when I heard a native spanish speaker speak Spanish at the counter. I don't want to leave out their drinks as they have quite a selection both alcoholic, and non alcoholic. I tried the horchata, which was amazing. I have been craving Pozole for a long time, and they had it as a special chicken with green sauce, and pork and a red sauce. Both simply amazing and a great deal. This restaurant is very reasonable, and you get quite a lot for the money. Last but not least I can't forget the ambiance which felt very authentic, and reminded me of being in a Taqueria in Mexico or Southern California. the place is decorated very thoughtful with a lot of candles, and many shrines. They also have a love of Mariah Carey and saw many photos of here in the restaurant. They have both outdoor seating and indoor seating. A lot of plants outside which all seem very happy and well cared for. I love this place, and will be going back for sure. The place is very casual which I appreciate. We ordered the bowl, one with carnitas and other with avocado. Both were very tasty! You can tell that the ingredients were fresh, the carnitas were tender and well seasoned. They also had a mango hot sauce brought to the table in a bottle that is amazing. I drenched my bowl with the sauce for the extra kick and flavor. The bowls are very filling. I have had some meals at the bar where the bartenders were genuinely engaged knowledgeable and happy to walk you through their agave list which only enhances the whole experience. I will be honest and say that the service can sometimes lean into the typical Portland vibe of aloof and uninterested but there have also been moments especially at the bar where the staff really shines and makes you feel welcome and taken care of. Even with that quirk the overall experience is fantastic and it does nothing to take away from how much I enjoy eating here.
