I have been there 3 times, don't know why I went there more than once , that is my fault. The wait times were awful, the quality of care was mediocre and the billing is terrible. But I have learned my lesson and will never go there again. read more

I contacted the DDS group today 11/19/25 at approximately 1:11pm seeking an appointment with an oral surgeon to have wisdom teeth extractions. Upon speaking to a woman whom is in charge of the Oral Surgeons schedule she immediately provided me with an appointment for tomorrow 11/20/25 at 8am with the staff assuming the appointment was for me without question. My sister in law contacted the office today 11/19/25 at 1pm as well prior to my phone call i had with them requesting the exact same appointment and was told there was absolutely no appointments available until December. However when i contacted the office under the guise of booking an appointment for myself they immediately provided me an appointment without verifying any of my details. Upon the staff realizing i was booking the appointment on behalf of my sister in law whom they initially denied an appointment to, the woman began to make several excuses as to why my sister in law was unable to book an appointment with their practice none of which was expressed to me initially upon attempting to book the appointment with the staff assuming the appointment was for me. The insurance was valid and accepted by the practice which she confirmed, she had the necessary records they requested to obtain the appointment and had the appropriate X-rays and met all the requirements to have the extraction done when assuming the appointment was for me and yet they refused her appointment leading to prolonged pain and suffering. The woman stated for my sister in law to "attend the emergency room if she has pain" and began to introduce several fees upon learning the appointment was for her and not for me, none of which she expressed was a requirement for me at the beginning of our call. My sister in law is African American and i am Caucasian, it appeared the woman on the phone was being racist and biased to whomever she booked an appointment for. This type of conduct in a field of health and healing is outrageous and outright disgusting on this business's part. Do Better !! read more

I was a patient at DDS for quite some time, and I thought the care was pretty good although they were always trying to sell things to me and my friends and colleagues which were unnecessary. I was assigned to a new dentist a couple of years ago who constantly tried to convince me to get dental veneers, but I didn't think there was anything wrong with my teeth. When I asked friends if they thought I needed veneers, they looked at me like I was crazy. When my dentist mentioned veneers to me again at my next visit, I told her very politely that I wasn't interested and asked if she would please not bring this up again. She mentioned it again at my next visit, and I figured there was no use in saying anything because I thought she probably wasn't the brightest bulb on the tree. I didn't respond, and she proceeded to check my teeth and said everything was ok. A number of months later I had a toothache - the first one in my life. I went back, and it turned out I had a cavity which showed up in the x-rays which were taken at my last visit, but this dentist never told me I had a cavity. Because some time had passed, the cavity had grown and the tooth had to be extracted at this point (my first tooth ever to be extracted because I had my teeth checked regularly every 6 months), and she immediately discussed getting an implant for over $7,000 . . . because she never told me I had a cavity when it had showed up on the x-ray. Needless to say, I found this extremely upsetting especially after taking such good care of my teeth. I no longer go to DDS Group. I did, however, ask my new dentist if he thought I needed dental veneers. His response . . . "what for?" read more

We used to love this office and had been going for years. But their billing staff is terrible. They didn't tell us that they changed the way the dental insurance was being submitted, and then we were charged over $4500. Stupidly and being trusting, we paid it before really digging in, and they have refused to apologize or do anything about it. Crickets ... and that now INCLUDES the dentists who run the practice. They have irrevocably broken the trust relationship, and it's apparent that it doesn't bother them. We've taken our entire family's practice somewhere else. I came to DDS last year for a routine cleaning and was told I needed two new fillings plus a redo of an old filling from another office. In December, I got the two new fillings done and scheduled the third for January. When checking out after the first appointment, the dentist and front desk admin suddenly mentioned an onlay. I had never heard of this before, so I asked for clarification--especially about the cost. The dentist showed me on a screen and assured me that it would cost the same as a filling. Fast forward to January, I went in for the onlay and was asked to do another scan that cost $400. Since I was expecting my filling to cost just over $100, I went ahead with it and paid immediately. After four hours in the chair, I went to the front desk to check out, and they told me everything was good--so I left. Later that night, I received a text message from the office saying I owed $1,000 for the filling! I immediately reached out, and after some back and forth over email, they reduced it to $700 but still insisted I pay or they would send it to collections. Why I Can't Recommend This Office: Misleading cost estimates--I was explicitly told the onlay would cost the same as a filling. Hidden fees--They didn't inform me of a major charge until after the procedure. Threatening collections--Instead of working with me fairly, they pressured me into paying an unexpected bill. I'm deeply disappointed and feel taken advantage of. Patients deserve transparency in pricing before procedures--not surprise bills after the fact. I'm so sad, DDS have decided to stop accepting my insurance. I have been coming here for maybe 10 years now for cleanings. I have always had positive experiences with this office. The dental hygienist is the sweetest woman - always attentive and caring during the appointment. It's easy to make an appointment. Prior to coming to DDS group, I was an anxious mess about the dentist - associating it with pain and rude staff after bad experiences elsewhere. I decided to give them another try in November 2022. I switched insurance and Zocdoc stated that they were now in my Network. I booked an appointment via ZocDoc for a consultation, specifically in regards to On-Lays to compare the cost with another dentistry. My consultation went great with Dr. E. Schriber. I was told to go to the billing side to get my estimated costs, etc. I was advised by Ms. Hope that they will need time to provide my treatment plan and will email them to me. In the interim, she can schedule me for the following Tuesday but I have to put $200 down. I asked if I can call in, because I do not have my card on me (or so I thought). Ms Hope, said yes, but make sure you do, because if you do not they will automatically cancel your appointment. I got nervous and searched my bag for my card and found it, paid two hundred dollars for the appointment and was told that my insurance would cover my initial consultation, so the $200 I pay today will go towards my on-lay bill (at this point I had no idea what the total bill would be, as they promised to email me the details). I was also sure at this point that I would proceed with my appointment on Tuesday, I just needed to see the treatment plan and costs. I was excited that they were In-Network. Patiently waiting, days go by and I still have not received the email with my treatment plan. I did, however, receive an email urging me to confirm my appointment. I replied to the email indicating that I refuse to confirm without knowing the cost. I then received a vague pdf indicating crowns when the entire time we discussed on-lays, so I responded back for clarity. No one responded back to me. Michelle then gave me a call on that Friday urging me to confirm my Tuesday appt. At this point, I needed more time to decide if I would do Crowns at this place on On-lays (which is what I initially asked for) at my current dentist. Within that time I realized that they are actually non-in-network and that crowns cost more than onlays. On top of that, this dentist does not accept care credit. I told Michelle I would let them know my decision over the weekend and she stated they are closed on the weekend. So feeling pressured, I made the decision with her right then and there that Friday afternoon, minutes before closing to simply go ahead and cancel my appointment for that following Tuesday. If my account is documented as a no-show, then it is the fault of Michelle - A Staff member, and I am appalled at her lack of integrity and accountability. I canceled my appointment with Michelle the Friday before my Tuesday appointment. A few weeks later I got my onlays done elsewhere and decided I would not utilize DDS at all and reached out to inquire on my refund via email and was continuously ignored. When I followed up via the phone on my refund (sitting as a 'credit on my account') after first being ignored via email, then giving the run around via the phone by Michelle, and then finally being lied to by Michelle first claiming that Ms. Hope has been out, that is why my emails and voicemails have been ignored. On my next inquiry to speak with Ms. Hope, Michelle states, that Ms. Hope is waiting to speak with Dr. Schriber about my refund and get back to me. Days, week go by, no response to my follow-up email or call back. Finally, I speak to Michelle in February and she gives me all the excuses, about Ms. Hope stating that I was a no-show for my "confirmed" appointment for two Crowns and therefore forfeit my two hundred dollar credit and that this is policy. If it is policy and you work the front desk handling appointments, cancelations, no-shows, why did it take 3 months to relay such information to the client? Michelle also stated that they 'texted' me and emailed me but can provide no such proof when I ask her to reforward that email/text. To my knowledge, this company does not even send out text notifications. There is no accountability, no management. I could never get a manager on the phone. According to Michelle, Ms. Hope the billing person is the manager. I am due a $200 refund from DDS Group. read more

Long overdue review. I liked my dentist and hygienist but like others mentioned, the billing dept is horrible and I would never go back. I had multiple appts with the periodontist to work on each quadrant and they billed me each time for an "oral evaluation" on top of the regular services. My periodontist said I shouldn't be charged for an evaluation multiple times but the billing people (Ms Hope) kept saying she had to speak to the owner. They sent me a threatening letter they would take "aggressive" and "unpleasant" action if I didn't pay my balance of $38 even though they owed me money for those overcharges and refused to refund me over months of calls to speak to the owner. The dental hygienist are great here but everything else falls short. They are constantly upselling and pushing services you don't need. I fell to their scam when they told me I have gaps in my gums and need arestin which is not covered by insurance. I got two treatments at $280 each only to finally do some research that arestin does NOT work if it's not done in conjuction with scaling. THEY ARE SCAMMERS! The billing department is either inept or practice insurance fraud. I was assured my retainers were covered by insurance and now they are asking for payment. AVOID. I've been going to this office for years without an issue. Nice hygienists and doctors, clean office. However on my last visit, the hygienist and doctor teamed up on trying to upsell me on all sorts of unnecessary products, including getting Botox in my jaw to help with clenching. They also said I had a cavity forming, and that I should come back another time to get it filled. At that point, I no longer trusted them because of the ridiculous product-pushing so I went and got second opinions from two other dentists and guess what - no cavity. I love Dentist Stuart Schreiber but this seems like a scam. Front desk claims they are too busy and I confirmed, which I did not. Easily the nicest staff I've ever encountered, they make sure to always accommodate appointments to your schedule and never keep you waiting idly to see a dentist or hygienist. Dr. Handler is absolutely incredible and has improved my smile with carefully monitored Invisalign treatment (if only I could show you the drastic before and after photos within 2 months of treatment). She's so skilled, friendly, and truly as gracious human being, that I always wish she were my primary physician for all things health. My one star goes to the hygienist who saw me, Isabel, who was very nice and welcoming, which I would echo for most of the staff I interacted with. My problem however was with the practice as a whole and management's decision on treatment for patients. As a first time patient, I was diagnosed with deep pocketing in multiple sites and told this would lead to periodontal disease if not treated immediately (I had never been told this before by my previous dentist or my current dentist). The office recommended the use of Arestin and although my treatment had a high cost of $680, I was told my insurance (Cigna) would cover 80% of the cost. I was also told I would have to pay the full amount that day in the office, which I agreed to given this was an urgent matter and they confirmed to me (twice) that my insurance would cover the majority of the cost. It wasn't until a few months later I started to question the practice's intention when I reached out to the office to see why my refund had not been processed. After being told it had been denied weeks back, I was told it was my responsibility to follow up with Cigna to sort out the refund. I did so, and after months of appeals and ultimately being denied I learned two things: (1) the DDS Group had upcoded the treatment by (1) charging an out of network rate and (2) double counting sites. After an initial back and forth with the DDS Group they complied and refunded the overage cost. (2) my claims were rejected because Arestin is only covered for sites that do not immediately respond to traditional modes of treatment. Since I had no history of periodontal work such as Scaling and Root Planning (S/RP), which the dental office was aware of, Cigna would not cover the costs. I found this odd until I looked up Arestin's "Indication and Use" as published by the manufacturer (link at bottom) which states that the treatment be used "as an adjunct to S/RP procedures for reduction of pocket depth in patients with adult periodontitis." After further searching through Arestin's FDA clinical review this made sense as it shows no scientific evidence of Arestin working as a stand alone treatment (link at bottom). In hindsight I should not have been naive to take the DDS Group at their word and should have verified with my insurance company myself, but I also believe that as a patient I should have some trust that the practice is putting their clientele's well being first. I have seen a lot of dentists in my life. I moved around as a kid, so I mean a lot, and I have never had a dentist like Dr. Park, or a practice like DDS Group. I'm one of those weird people who likes going to the dentist anyway, but the care at DDS is above and beyond. Dr. Park is careful and attentive, and the team of hygienist are all friendly, thorough, and seriously good at their jobs. The reception and billing staff are also great, and they will happily work with your insurance to get you the best care at the lowest possible cost to you. I have had six cavities filled here, get my cleanings twice a year, and was fitted for a night guard. Their oral surgeon didn't take my insurance, so they recommended another practice when I needed my wisdom teeth out. read more

Sad to leave this review. While it's tempting, I'm not going to go into a long story about the frequency and level of frustration I've had in dealing with this office over the past few years. My frustrations lie completely with the front desk/schedulers for their lack of concern for people's time. Even worse, whenever I've voiced any frustration over mishaps, miscommunication, or last minute scheduling changes, the group has responded by blaming me. ...#OVER IT. It's unfortunate because I was a long-time patient and found every dentist and hygienist I've worked with there to be lovely and talented. To name a few, Olga and Gigi are both sweet as can be and great hygienists. In terms of the dentists Dr. Schreiber is wonderful and Dr. Romano, while I only worked with her once, was great and I regret that I won't see this team again. I am a new patient at DDS Group and wish I changed dentists to this practice sooner. DDS Group keeps appointment times. I arrived 10 minutes early to my appointment and was greeted by a friendly receptionist and spent minimal time in the waiting room. This is very considerate for a working professional. The DDS Group utilizes newer technology from the text message appointment reminder to the digital cameras on the equipment. Karina, the dental hygienist who worked with me, was extremely thorough and knowledgeable. She took photos of potential problem areas and offered recommendations on how to improve. Her insight was reaffirmed by the doctor. Choosing a dentist is really tough. I've been through many over the past 10 years but the DDS Group is top notch. Gist: was overcharged $300 and DDS engaged in fraudulent billing to try and cover it up. Details: As a first time patient, was recommended that I come back for a second visit to do three fillings. When I heard that on my first visit, I requested and was quoted a nominal $30-40 per filling, assured that my insurance would cover the rest. When I returned and was already in the chair, I was only then strongly urged to get composite fillings (I hadn't been told during the first visit that the prior quote wasn't for composite) and that it would cost more. When I asked for a new quote, I was told it would now be $400 in all. I was already prepped so I had no choice but to go forward. Afterward the procedures, I paid my co-pay at the front but was never given a receipt or any paperwork. I later found out that DDS charged me $500 on my card! Then, when I checked with my insurance company, Aetna, they said that the services DDS billed to insurance was $1,000 and that my co-payment should only have been $200. When I pressed DDS on it, they stopped returning my emails and calls. A bit later, DDS submitted fraudulent paperwork to my insurance company to suggest that the overcharge was legitimate by claiming the procedures were, in fact, some 'unspecified procedure' and not plain old composite fillings. Please read all the reviews. The ones that speak of unethical and fraudulent billing and sales practices are dead on. Avoid like the plague. read more

Be warned! Fraudulent/Deceptive billing department Background: I had been a customer of DDS for many, many years and I've recommended DDS to my friends and coworkers. Years ago, DDS had a problem with running late for appointments, but they've fixed that. Incident: I was at DDS for a teeth cleaning and DDS stated that it'd be helpful to get an extra procedure done, but it wasn't urgent. I said that I would get it done only if it's covered by insurance. DDS checked and then falsely stated that it was covered (it wasn't). They later billed me for the procedure and b/c it wasn't covered, I found myself out of a lot of money for an optional procedure that I was told was covered. It took months to sort this issue out with Lee, one of DDS' admin staff. I was just looking for a fair solution. Unfortunately Lee has poor customer service skills and isn't honest. At one point, while we were still negotiating, Lee "mistakenly" sent my bill to collections. When I called her out on it, she said it was a mistake and reversed it. With most communications, I'd have to reach out many times before Lee would bother to respond to me. Finally, we reached a written settlement agreement on how to resolve the issue. I upheld my part of the deal right away, but then Lee reneged and has ignored my emails since then. So I'm still out a lot of money due to Lee breaking her word. It's really a shame b/c DDS has really wonderful dentists and hygienists. But no matter how great they are, I don't want to be ripped off by the billing department. read more

Do not go here. They do not follow the proper steps with insurance and you wind up with a bill that should be covered. After a cleaning the hygienist said I needed a descaling. They assured me it was covered by my insurance so I said sure. When all was said and done I start getting bills from DDS that my insurance rejected the claim After the service because they did not submit my xrays and give me a dental exam before the descaling. I told DDs they did not follow the insurance protocols and they should absolve the bill. They sent me to collections! 40 years old and perfect credit and my wife is getting creditor calls from this ripoff Up-Sell office. The hygienist I use now lays all the insurance steps before you hit the chair, not up sell you while your in the chair. There are a lot of hygienists in this city, don't get ripped off! read more

I went here for 4 years because I really liked a hygienist there and it was close to home. After she left I tried a few other hygienists and didn't like any of them. Then they told me I had a old filling that I should think about replacing. Uh....only have 1 filling and they put it in 3 years ago. But what really ticked me off is: when I left, I had to call 4 times to get my dental records forwarded to me. What a waste of time. I had an 8.15a appointment and was seen at 8.55a. The consultation lasted no more than 10 minutes and it wasn't even helpful. Basically, after waiting for 40 min, I was told that I had to be referred to another dentist who could actually do the procedure. He didn't explain much, didn't even take a second look at the X-rays, which they had me take without even confirming if my insurance would cover, and just told me to go to the front desk to get references. I did my due diligence showing up early for my appointment, without any sort of reminders (don't offices usually confirm the day before via call or email?) and so frustrated that I wasted my morning for a useless appointment that I now need to re-do elsewhere, hopefully more legit. read more

I've been coming to dds group for years. They had some hiccups at first but I always kept coming back.. one dentist was just too fast and rushed for me, but he is no longer there. I now see Dr. Park and she is SOO NICE... gentle, does good work, and is very welcoming. I also see Olga as my hygienist who is THE BESSST!! She is always very thorough and does everything possible to make sure she is making the experience as pleasant as possible. DDS Group conducts themselves hishonestly when it comes to billing. I received a bill from them over a year ago that made no sense - they charged something to my insurance that was DIFFERENT than what they told me they were doing. As a result, i got a bill from them. I called them and tried to talk to them about it, and I actually stopped receiving the bills A year later i started receiving the same bills again, and when I talked to their billing department they keep telling me that they can only provide estimates. This is certainly not what i was told in the office at the time of service, and they don't seem to be willing to meet me on the issue halfway. It seems from looking at other reviews that I am not the only one that has had this happen to them, so my advice would be to find one of the other millions of dentists in NYC. read more

I was a patient of DDS Group for 3 years and unfortunately after my most recent experience will not be returning. I scheduled a 9:15 appointment a couple of months ago and received a reminder by text a week or so in advance. The morning of my appointment at 7am, I received a second reminder but for a different appointment time (9:45 as opposed to 9:15). Given that nobody had called to notify me that my appointment time had changed, I assumed it was a mistake and showed up for my 9:15 appointment, only to be told that they in fact had me down for 9:45. So at some point in the last week they rescheduled my time and didn't bother to let me know. I wasn't able to wait around until 9:45 to be seen because I had to get to work (duh), so they assured me that I could be seen in 10 minutes. 10 minutes passed and my hygienist came out and said it would be another 10 minutes as she was in the middle of a procedure and couldn't predict exactly how long it would take. (So the original "10 minutes" quote was just an effort to keep me waiting around and waste more of my time? Not appreciated.) At that point I gave up and left and made an appointment with a different dentist. I will also note that during my three years with DDS group (during which time I saw them every 6 months), I was seen by the actual dentist for maybe 3 minutes, total. He'd saunter in after my cleaning, glance at my teeth for 30 seconds and move on. To the extent I had anything serious going on with my teeth or wanted a more involved procedure done, I would not do it here for that reason. read more

Everything went very smoothly for my appointment, which was my first here. It's a pretty large office for a dentist, but it all looked clean and well-kept. Nearly all the stars are going to Olga, who was the sweetest dental hygienist I've had in a long time. She explained what she was doing with every step and was very gentle and nice. I specifically made my next appointment with her because I really appreciated her methods during the cleaning. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that when the doctor came in to do the final check-up, he kept trying to up-sell me on Invisalign or teeth whitening (both of which have prominent posters all over the office, so these were obviously services they provide), even though I'd mentioned I'm currently on a budget. However, I just kept saying 'no thank you' until we were all done. That won't stop me from coming back as I only saw him for a few minutes, and the majority of my appointment and cleaning were with Olga, who I can't say enough good things about. I am huge on customer service and although the women who work here tend to lack in that department from time to time, today I had one of the most fantastic cleanings with Olga at DDS Dental Group. I hope she stays with the practice--after my former hygienist left, I have not had the most pleasant experiences here, in terms of my mouth feeling completely intact after a cleaning. Olga is gentle and does not aimlessly poke at your gums while performing a cleaning (which is actually pretty common with many hygienists that I have encountered @ numerous dental practices over the years). Olga is also super friendly and explains everything that she is doing and of course why it is necessary. She actually cares about her patients, is very knowledgeable, and gives great recommendations based on your specific situation. I think she is fantastic and a great addition to the staff. I highly recommend DDS because of her and will continue to see her for my semi-annual prophylaxis, also known as dental scaling or cleaning. read more

I went there today for the first time for a checkup/cleaning. My dental hygienist was Olga. she was so sweet and incredibly professional. It honestly was the most pleasant cleaning I have ever had. I then met with both Schreiber doctors. Both great guys and professional. I am getting fitted for Invisalign next month. Dr Schreiber explained the procedure in depth and took his time with me. It made me feel very comfortable about using this practice for years to come. read more

It's all about that money honey... That should be their slogan! They charge you for everything that they can imagine for and they always have some mambo jambo excuse or "explanation"... For instance they bill you $120 for a 10 minute consultation with a root canal specialist... The guy looks at your xray - tells you we need to fix this root canal by reopening the tooth and bam you magically owe them $120 in one glimpse :) They bill you mad amounts per filling, the insurance allows them an amount way lower than the one they billed you so then they bill you the remainder - awesome ain't that so... Oh it gets even better - let's say a filling was replced so it can aid the contact between the teeth (mind you that the tooth worked on had 0 pain or sensitivity issues prior the procedure). Then the tooth gets sensitive and you go back wanting it fixed, all you know is you had no pain and now you have some :). Then you go for an adjustment right and after the adjustment they bill you again saying that the initial filling change is not to be blamed for your newly acquired sensitivity ... So wait a sec, you opened a tooth and closed it, that tooth became sensitive after you interfering with it, but you bill me again? Well bye Felicia, not going to get robbed no more! read more

This is the best dentist I've gone to in NYC for several reasons: 1. The staff are all very attentive. 2. The dentist filled my cavities with no pain, and my bite was not "off" afterwards, which has happened to me with several other dentists. 3. The office admin people are polite and patient and follow up with me when I ask them to, but aren't over-intrusive. 4. My dental hygienist (Jennifer) took a real interest in ensuring I was comfortable, getting the appropriate treatment, and gave me several recommendations to fit my budget. I have dental insurance with Aetna and that was why I first chose to go to the DDS Group. After my experiences there, I'm really happy I ended up with a great practice. The office is clean and the tools look new and hygienic. The chairs are plush and they vibrate, which is awesome. The people are very friendly there. I always try to schedule my appointments as early as possible and I was glad to see that the people working on my teeth were awake and very nice. Dr. Elliot Schreiber worked on my teeth and he was very conscientious and thorough. If I had any questions, as I really like to know what is going on, he answered them comprehensively. Even at "only" two visits a year, when you consider I've been using this place as my dental spot for 8 years, I've been here many more times than some of the restaurants I've Yelped about. Like a lot of people, I only ended up here because they take my insurance and are close to my job, but what a great surprise! Easily the best dental office I've ever used. The staff is friendly, the doctors and hygienists are world-class, and don't try to over-sell anything. They have nice, computerized charts and can call up your x-rays from 4 years ago in a flash. Such a cool place, I almost wish I could go to the dentist more than twice a year. :) read more

I love these people. I have not been to the dentist in... way too long to acknowledge. I needed work. Lots of work. It didn't help that I also ran into a wall and chipped off nearly my whole front tooth. Dr. Elliot Schreiber is fantastic. He made my tooth look nearly identical to the remaining one :) I also had to have 3 wisdom teeth removed and no one kicked me out when I had a panic attack upon arrival. They are just cool like that. The dental assistants seem happy and are very friendly. It's easy to make appointments and they have you in and out in no time. If you work in the financial district DDS Group is a no brainer. read more
