What I love about this store is its variety of products, including home goods, clothing, purses, pet supplies, body care, makeup, perfume/cologne, jewelry, snacks, and luggage. The price point for most items is very affordable. The store's interior was organized and clean. The staff members were welcoming. The employee who stood out to me was Desiree. She assisted me at the check-out counter and was pleasantly helpful. All in all, DD's DISCOUNTS offers competitive deals and significant savings. I literally wanted to browse items for my apartment and I can't go in unless you hold MY water bottle in a bag on the register? Screw that! I marked this place one star because they didn't allow a pregnant woman the use of a bathroom. I got into the store today and ask for a bathroom, I am in my 37 weeks of pregnancy. The security guard pointed me to the back of the store for the bathroom. When I got there, one of the store employees told me that the manager told her that there is no public restroom. A major chain store but they couldn't offer a restroom to a pregnant woman! So disappointing!!! Hopefully corporate will be able to review the store policy and teach their managers and store representatives better ways on how to treat their customers. read more

I've been to this DD's Discounts store before and it's right next door to 99 Cents Only Store. The store itself is pretty decent in size and there's a vast amount of clothing, shoes, and other products. The store is messy at times, but what can you do with the clientele that shop here... This store gets a good amount of business. It can be packed with a lot of customers and it can tend to be crowded. So many people shopping around to find some great bargains!! They have shopping carts but they cannot be taken outside of the store. They only useable inside the store. Customer Service is your typical service. Items here are cheap and pants variety great.. service was horrible except for the cashier Samantha who went over and beyond working as quickly as possible with many complaining customers because she was the only one ringing up and assisting customers with questions with so many questions but yet being so polite even when others are yelling at her from the line.. Only two things I come here for, cute and cheap outfits(sometimes name brands too) for my girls and scrubs. They don't have much variety of scrubs but sometimes you get lucky and might find something cute for cheap. Other than that I really hate shuffling through racks to find something. And I especially hate the rude customers that shop there, it's like damn, can I get an "excuse me?" Welcome to the Ghetto!! hahaha I used to worked at this store when they first opened like back in 2005 or 2006 and it was ok back then, at least the clothing racks were organized and they had a nice selection of clothing items and some cute shoes for cheap, and yes sometimes the clothes and the shoes were name brand. unfortunately the appearance and the merchandise of this store has been declining, is not what it used to be, is soooo freaking messy, there's clothes and other stuff on the floors that nobody bothers to pick up, and the people who shop up in here are ghetto as f**k, lol not offense I'm a little ghetto myself but these people are something else, expect dirty looks from fellow shoppers, you will at some point feel intimidated or in fear that somebody may beat u up for no apparent reason LOL But honestly the reason I keep coming here is because the house decor still pretty darn cute and cheap, if you're looking for blankets or something cute for your house you will find it here, specially if you come early when they first open. Its cheap here but an awful mess and then they are militant about the check out line and make you do most the work like take off the hangar and put the hanger up and they want it done before they get to you to speed up check out time but its still horribly slow because most cashiers are just there doing something else like youre not important. They worry more about theft here than sales or customer service and treat everyone like a suspect. Seriously, 1 star for the friendliness; from the "welcome" to the "have a good holiday," but they just played a discrimination card. I've asked to use their restroom (twice from the last 2 visit) and was told they didn't have a restroom (how in the world would these employees release themselves?) Instead, I was told that the $.99 had one so I can go over.--- the hell? It makes me wondering, do I really want to shop here? Not until a Mexican mother along with her kid asked to used the restroom and they were kindly shown the way (the lady who worked in the dressing room is African American and I'm Asian). I hope you all get to experience Shauntisa. I can't say enough about her excellent customer service during this busy holiday season. Unfortunately her supervisor Celeste was the worse manager I came across this season. Celeste didn't even speak words but her body language spoke volumes. I can't believe that DD's would promote someone so juvenile to be in charge of there store. While Shauntisa and I were waiting for a gift card to be unlocked, Shauntisa tried to make small talk with her supervisor Celeste, who was totally ignoring her, walking around aimlessly and at one point even rolled her eyes. How could anybody work for such management?! It just made a bad situation worse in my opinion. I'm commenting on the Modesto store. DD's does have some bargains, but you are not allowed to take a shopping cart outside. I have a problem with that especially when I've bought enough items to fill the shopping cart. The security guard yelled at me the first time I attempted to leave. At the time, I didn't know it wasn't allowed - now that I do I make sure I only buy 1 or 2 items since no one will help you get your items to your car even if it's a shopping cart full. They want you to go outside and get your car and pull up to the exit door and then come inside and get your items........please this isn't home depot. I am not surprised with the bad reviews regarding the cleanliness, organization, and shoppers at DD's. Although I don't mind shuffling through racks for a good deal I absolutely cannot stand the inconsiderate, rude, and just plain out ghetto hood rat individuals that shop here. I will not stand for someone bumping into me and not saying sorry or excuse me or especially bumping into my child as another reviewer mentioned. You hit my child and I'm gonna hit you! Unhappy :( On the afternoon of August 28 2016, at approximately 4:10 pm. I went to DD's Discounts located at 432 W. Shaw Ave Clovis, CA. I was looking for shirts for my son. Upon purchasing them, I told my son he should try them on to see if they fit before we left the store. I asked the cashier, Deeann would that be ok. I did not want to have to wait in line again. However, she ignored me and called the next customer. My son realized one of the shirts did not fit. I told Deeann (the cashier) we'll go get another one and come back and maybe we can exchange it. Once again I was totally ignored. My son and I, went to find another shirt when we returned we waited on the side of the counter. She was helping another customer, which we didn't mind we waited and then without even acknowledging us, she said, " next in line" I said, excuse me we were waiting here. Without even looking at me, she answered, ma'am you'll have to get back in line. Deeann should have informed us, before we left the register. Her actions were very rude and uncaring. She need to work on her customer service skills. I spoke with the manager, Mario Servin, he was very helpful, but did not assure me that this matter was going to be handled. I decided to follow it up with a letter. I'm a firm believer that employees should not have to deal with intolerable customers but I also believe that paying customers should not have to put up with unhappy cashiers. read more

I went to the store and buy some items. when paying, it is true to the words of the companion, the lines were well filled and only have two cashiers who had opened the front in line was buying a suitcase, and the cashier looked nervous and could not remove the security alarm, it took like 4 min so that it can remove. when I got to pay it, he sought security alarms to go when no sound, good way out the door and the alarm sounds, the security stopped me and told me that if I was taking any electrical items. I go back inside the store and review everything and found nothing, what was in the bag was all I had recently paid. that was very stupid and embarrassing. Once you walk in the cashiers are obligated to say "hello" to you even if they sound like they don't want to. That's nice I supposed. This store is a lil messy due to the amount of people and their kids everywhere destroying the merchandise. The selection is ok, nice jeans to choose from and a lot of cheesy t.shirts. Plenty of outdated shoe brands like Fubu, Mecca and Southpole too bad no one still wear those brands. But if you're not into fancy brand names then this is a good store for you instead of buying an expensive polo shirt buy one from here with an imitation one. I was looking for some scrubs for school and was told this is the cheapest, so on Thursday night about 7:45 p.m. I went to DD's I have to say I was a little scared, the crowd is a little rough, so entering the store I quickly made my way to the scrubs, had a whole rack so I was very excited to only pay $6.99, the dressing room was not bad was a little upset that they closed it almost an hour before the store closed but oh well, I love to look at the housewares so I headed that way, I felt like I had to fight my way, between the people and crap all over the floor it just was not worth it so I headed to the check out, the lines are crazy and only had two open, a third one opened so we were called over (really the lady yelled I open you can come over here) no hello, no how are you? so my son who is only 9 is into leather jackets at the moment, politely asked the lady "excuse me do you sell leather jackets?" her reply "what, leather jackets if we did they would be on the floor" so what the heck lady?? do you need my 9yr old to teach you how to speak???? I love the fact that I can save money on some brand clothes like ross but hate it at the same time. Some of the worker don't even speak English when you ask what your looking for. The place is so messy. I'm just wondering who hiring the people that work there. They have no manner, and obviously they need to spend money on buying more register.
