DDM and first talked to Lisa. She is the operator. I was in a week cell area so I lost her. She called me back twice before she got me. She sent me to Lola to talk about my account. Unfortunately we have to close it as my daughters landlord is switching from oil to single split system so I need to close account. I have used them for 2 previous years and have had great service so I am as paying in a budget. Lola was so pleasant to deal with and made sure I am getting all my money back! I called customer and requested a call Saturday, emailed Sunday, called Monday, no returned calls from a supervisor but why would you provide any customer service.  This is the worst company ever. There has been nothing but problems with this boiler and your installer since we had this thing improperly installed. In May/June 2020.  I wrote you in Jan 2022 and told you about your installer and their error in installing our boiler and compromising my boiler's integrity and your solution was a cleaning and another free cleaning. NO inspection of the full non functional unit at the time. A band new unit should not have malfunctioned that earlier on. When your staff can out no one took off the cavity and checked why a brand new boiler was NOT properly working. BRAND NEW! You tried to push blame on us, the unknowing customers. Mature. I complained to you how the sut spewing out of our chimney isn't okay for a brand new boiler.  Again, I told you this could have caused a fire and possibly killed my children and family. But no full inspection on a non functional brand new unit was performed by your company. You took the cheapest route possible. Clean it, it's working... see ya! Leaving us with a faulty unit. Negligence. You can't not disprove that that boiler was not over working that day AND all the days prior and not over heating that cavity and not damaging that seal at that time. That heating and expanding  of that day and all the days prior damaged our brand new boiler as I stated back in Jan 2022. Maybe if you would have performed a full inspection after my first complaint, you may have caught your companies error.  My boiler is no longer functional! Per three independent companies.  This is damage having occurred over YEARS. The day I initially complained about the smoke spewing out and over heating my unit is the day you denied us the right to have this impaired unit fully inspected in Jan 2022 further putting my families lives in more danger and further allowing the boiler to continue to corrode.  This is my seal! My floors are also now damaged by this break in the seal. And they need replacing. This would not have happened if your were not negligent in your response in Jan 2022. Your negligence is why this boiler is no longer functional. Your negligence is why my floors are now damaged. Your negligence is why my adjacent bathroom vanity is damaged.  And who knows what further unknown damage is undiscovered at this time.   "Cast iron is an alloy with a high carbon content (at least 1.7% and usually 3.0-3.7%), making it relatively resistant to corrosion." But yet mine is completely corroded. And not functional.  Because of your negligence.  The reputation of the installer S********* is known for dollars instead of quality.  Which I can see is how your company now functions. Unfortunately, we found out the hard way when one of the other companies came out to inspect our unit and knew of his non integral reputation. It's critical to have a boiler set properly, to run properly, not to save a buck. Not sub out a contract to the lowest bidder.  The first person we had come to inspect it Saturday said he would never have set up our chimney system that way. That is not safe.  The second gentleman that came out said this is not the proper unit for this type of home and should never have been installed, period. The third company said that the boiler being improperly set initial is 1000% the reason the seal broke. It ran hot for so long it damaged the seal and broke the seal. The more the leak  continued, it corroded the seal further increasing the damage. It continued until the leak became visible and was  noticed this weekend in my da managed flooring. It seems your company has now faulted in multiple areas of neglect and endangerment.  I would like to know how your are going to resolve your many errors in this situation and ASAP. I have four children that need showers and can't not because of your neglect. update: day 4 not one returned call or email from anyone at this company. but Richard J the owner really wants to win back my trust.... How? But continue to ignore problems your company and direct staff caused..... been on hold forever..... Jessica still does not answer. No one working. No managers on call. Day 6 finally someone came out, they denied any accountability. They stated "The supervisor took pictures of the boiler which were sent to the manufacturer, Weil McClain. We were hoping the pictures would be enough to determine if it would be covered by warranty. Unfortunately, they want the boiler sent back to them for inspection to determine if it is covered under warranty" This was 1203pm on 7.14 I called Weil-Mclain, they stated they informed me of my "whole boiler credit claim approved." This company is the biggest service rip off I have ever been associated with. They made an unauthorized charge to my credit card to service my furnace but never scheduled an appointment. I had thought the charge on my card was for oil delivery. When I straightened out the service issue, they arrived in the morning for an afternoon appointment. The technician serviced the furnace and as he was leaving handed my wife the work performed sheet. I received a telephone call that afternoon saying they would no longer deliver oil because our tank was too old and needed replacement and the cost would be $5,000. We have been two days with no heat. We are in a service contract with this company and we pay on time. We have called non stop and get no return call. The "answer service is utterly unprofessional. I don't even know if my messages are being passed on as I still have no return call even. When you choose the phone prompt for emergency service it goes directly to a busy signal for two days now. This is unacceptable, a breach of contract and I most definitely will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureay and Consumer Protection. It's Monday, and they still haven't delivered the oil. So Saturday, Sunday, Monday - no heat even though we have automatic delivery and even though I got a promise that they would deliver oil today when I called Saturday. I just spoke with the DDM answering service - apparently they don't even answer their phones let alone deliver oil - and the poor lady who answered said that her understanding was that DDM stopped delivering oil today at 3 pm. Well, they didn't make it to our house. What's the regulatory body that provides oversight to such corporations? Reading the contract, I would be in violation of my contract if I get a one-time delivery from another oil company, but I cannot hold DDM responsible for not delivering oil. Outrageous. read more

I am on a budget, automatic oil delivery service with DDM Energy, I pay premimum prices for this contract. It is 12° out and I'm out of oil, my house is freezing and has occupants that are medically fragile. Customer Service said I'd have to wait 48 hours for a delivery or response from the service team. I now will not only need oil but service to restart my heater and prevent damage to both my heater and hot water heater. I'd reconsider before contracting an agreement with DDM. read more

I had a service call for my Generac home generator because of an error code on the electronic panel. Problem not fixed. Technician from another company solved issue within seconds by knowing how to reset the panel. Asked for refund of $155 fee because DDM guy had no clue. Refused. Customer service at it's worst. On a service plan going on year three and disappointed in myself for agreeing to it. Ran out of oil on a 3 day weekend and have NO hot water with 2 kids 7 and 4. They are shut down and send you to call center and call center calls back saying the technicians are booked. Not even a call from the actual company. How do I go empty when I have a contract and have not past due balance. The indicators have been there, got hit with 4 bills in 4 months in the winter, we set up scheduled payments with billing and then they cancelled deliveries because we were past due, even though we had not missed a payment. This place is absolutely mismanaged and will be looking for another provider. Find another oil company if if they cost more. read more

Do yourself a favor and do NOT hire this company. We have had repeated billing issues with them (they raised our rate 3x without notifying us, and have since screwed up multiple refunds/credits). Most recently, they showed up at our house at 5:30 a.m. to fill our tank, again without notification, and woke everyone up. Our township has an 8 a.m. noise ordinance and I was told that they "try to get on the roads ahead of traffic," and that it's just how they do business. I have never dealt with customer service people as rude as the ones I've encountered. Their team is incredibly unaccommodating, or understanding with complaints. Instead, they just try to argue with you about why they are correct. With so many options available for local oil companies, please save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. Don Wadsworth, Service Technician of HOP Energy was everything you want in a technician. I'll explain what I mean in a sec. We had an issue due to install and Don was out to my property 3 times. First, to diagnose the issue, fix what could be fixed etc. The 2nd time it rained and was unable to do the necessary work. I knew this could happen and quickly rescheduled the appointment. The 3rd time Don and another tech was able to come out and fix the issue. Don was knowledgeable and most all trustworthy. DDM installed both units in my home and although we had the issue with one, DDM has been reasonable in the process of the situation. I truly feel that Don Wadsworth made all the difference. We had the preventive maintenance performed today by John Millison of DDM. Previously, to take advantage of a $45 "special", we had another company do the maintenance. So in my qualified opinion, we wasted $45 and I don't want others who read this post waste their money too! Just experienced a very rude CSU after I called to say problem with my bill. I had a fill up which reflected incorrect $. When I called they told me I wasn't under a locked in contract. I was holding contract in my hand. They proceeded to tell me there was a glitch in their system..yea right. Although the contracted capped price I ultimately received, was still higher than the current pricing. Now I get an invoice with amount owed $118.00 over my budget amt. I'm told they adjusted..I call bull shit because I set the budget, not them and am fully aware if anything owed at end of heating season, I pay! Prices were Okay compared to others. My first time with oil heater. The worse customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. No one knows what they are doing, they don't explain anything to you and no one will EVER call you back. I bought a service plan and didn't even get information or a contract on it. I didn't even know what the hell it was for or what it covered even after asking about it. At one point I had no heat for two days and my house was 30 degree, I called the emergency line and they said they would call me back...no one did I paid someone else to fix it because I don't have time for people who can't do their job right. I was told I wouldn't be charged for a service and I was, a ridiculous amount for service I didn't even need. I am going to convert to gas before next winter, this was just downright awful and insanely expensive for a horrible experience. read more

Had them in the winter of 2013 and they worked great because I was on the fixed rate. In the winter of 2014, however, I did not elect the fixed rate and choose to pay the market rate. What a big mistake. Despite the heating oil market dropping precipitously, my rate would only change ever so slightly. I would call and they would reiterate what their market rate was. As they were charging me almost $2.80/gallon, several local competitors were closer to $2.30-$2.40/gallon. I called again and they informed me that they were more because they are "full service," which turns out to be I was paying roughly $.50/gallon extra for the "privilege" to call them and pay for them to make any repairs. I even spoke to their management team to rectify the situation and they were no help either. If you don't buy into the fixed rate, be prepared to overpay. If you choose the fixed rate, I have no problems with them. read more

I had a truly bizarre experience with this company. I signed a contract for annual oil delivery and had my first delivery scheduled for November 7th. The technician came into my house to inspect my tank and told me he could not deliver oil because my tank was leaking and needed to be replaced. I called the sales team and got a quote for $3500-$4000 to install a new exterior 275 heating oil tank. After getting this quote, my husband called the company asking for pictures of the leaking areas of the tank because he wanted to get a second opinion before we spent a lot of money. DDM Energy's service team refused to send us the pictures and told us they could send out a technician again at our expense. We obviously weren't happy with that, so they said they would have someone from the service team call us back. Today is November 30th and the service team JUST frickin called back! I'd expect a company that required a credit check from me for oil delivery to return a phone call within 2 business days, especially considering the fact that our heating oil tank is getting lower and lower by the day and, uh, it's winter. And here's the best part: after this business gave me a quote for $3500-$4000, I went on to get quotes from 3 other businesses and they ranged from $1500-$1800. On the bright side, the woman I just spoke with at DDM Energy to cancel my contract was very sweet and apologetic for my experience. I fully agree with all of the all the negative reviews of DDM Energy. They are, without a doubt, the absolute WORST company that I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with in my entire life. Our furnace was under a service contract with them. In November we had them out as we smelled fuel oil from the furnace inside the home. 12 technician visits later the issue was finally resolved, but not before we spent most of the month of December cold and in some cases without running water as their incredibly incompetent technicians could not properly repair the furnace. Once they finally finished the repair they neglected to use anti-freeze gel on the fuel they delivered in the cold of winter causing the fuel line to freeze up resulting in additional expenses to resolve the situation. In addition to this they want to charge an exorbitant fee $4.19 a gallon for fuel after our contract expired! How they remain in business is beyond my understanding. I agree with what others have said. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. There are far better companies out there that will charge reasonable rates for fuel oil. read more

Terrible automatic payment service had many problems and then would be called months later saying I owed a few months that had not been received. This happened three times and by the tile they called I owed thousands. Delivery guys are good and office people are responsive but account management is horrible!!!!!!! I had a capped plan at $2.99/gal in 2016, but when my plan was renewed for the next year I was switched to "market price", which was $4.00/gal, well above the national average. Was schedule for tune on heater after being a new customer since May, February was the first that I was able to get this done. My time frame was from 10-2pm and to call me 20 mins before so I could meet the tech at my home. When 2pm came I havent gotten a call from them so I called and was told they can not come out today that they would have to come out 3/11. Yet 2 more weeks of waiting and another day I would waste and lose money. I expressed my concerns about that and was told that the only other day I could do was a Saturday because I refuse to lose more money. I was told that they only have one tech on Saturdays for emergencies and no services are to be scheduled. I hope we do not get bad weather one tech for all my area alone is insane. So then I was told they can come out today but not sure when between then and 6pm and service usually takes a hour. I had them out and tune up was completed and no information was provided to me after tune up. Very next day need mind you I was on the phone 3 or 4 times with customer service the day before. I see the oil truck pull up and make a delivery which is fine I am on Normal Automatic Delivery. But I have a dog and its required to call me before. It is noted on my delivery instructions as well as my account. How do I know this you ask? Because I have had 3 or 4 deliveries from them and I have had this same issue. I call into the office customer service assured me that its noted on the delivery instructions and when the ticket is printed right phone number alert everything. At this point I need to speak to Delivery Manger to get this resolved. This is a safety concern for my dog and their driver. I spoke to John he is the delivery manager from what I was told. He stated that the tickets are printed at a central delivery office and then sent to the locations and that another driver could have pulled the tickets and they cant inspect them all to see if they need calls. I then explained that doesnt delivery dispatch see the notes on the tickets and see the call before? He stated they do but they do not always call...even though mine is because of a dog and is a safety issue remember. So then he proceeded to tell me that it would be up to the driver to call me and let me know hes coming but the drivers usually dont do that because they do not have company cell phones so they dont make the calls even though that is what needs to be done. John then stated he feels this isnt a big issue that nothing has happened YET. Just to be clear I believe the point of the call is to make sure it doesnt. He then told me all he will do is call the driver that they do not have time to call before delivering even if it means the customer has a dog. Needless to say I will not be renewing my contract with this company they are horriable for service and delivery. You truly get what you pay for. So if you are looking for cheap save yourself the trouble go COD for oil and get a local tech for service it would be better then this company. I will be contacting the corporate office. I requested the general manager information from John and he refused to provide it to me. So stay clear from this company. June 30th can not come soon enough. I hate that I have to put a star here they deserve nothing. read more

I started out as a customer of Brinker 's Energy around 20 years ago.Back then Brinkers was a great company to deal with.It had a small .local company feel to it and when you called with a problem you were treated well and always got a good response. I can't say the same thing about HOP Energy.It's January 2nd 2018 in PA. it's about 12 degrees out and this is my 2nd day without heat. I am getting nothing but the runaround with this company during this period. My service contract with this company should be called a nonservice contract. My wife has stage 4 lung cancer which I explained to them at least 5 times in 2 days and apparently this makes no difference in how your treated Needless to say this will be the last service contract I sign with this company. read more

DDM may be a great company but they are owned by Hope Energy out of CT and they are scum. They signed me up for a contract that I don't want and they deliver oil when they feel they need more money. I did not order oil but they show up. I was told that I did not have an auto fill when I signed up but apparently that was a lie. Now they wont let me out of this "contract" without paying more money. I will pay for the oil they forced on me but they better not show up to deliver oil again. BEWARE! DDM Energy delivered oil to my house and charged me $4.89/gallon even though I signed a contract for $1.89/gallon. When I called them, they insisted that they never received the signed contract. My response was why then would you deliver oil if you didn't have a contract? Their response was "Many customers like to receive oil without a contract". Negotiations with the company brought the oil price down to $3.29; still double what I had signed for. Moved into our home last August and didn't know too much about our oil heat. During the winter months we used a local company and paid so much in the peak months. Well, live and learn. We just recently signed up with DDM. They have been wonderful from the first call to our latest delivery. They have great customer service and comparative rates. read more

I am signed up with DDM for my automatic oil deliveries. They have always made them well before running low and provide a receipt at the door and even an online/mail receipt as well. I do not currently have a service contract with them on my furnace but am planning on it for next heating season. I had a small oil leak around my lines/oil filter (in basement) and they were at my house within 2 hours to resolve the issue. A month later my furnace shut down at 7:20 at night. Issue resolved at 10:30 same evening so pretty good service. Pricing...this is my first house with oil heat and DDM is my first company. Furnace repair was under $300 which I considered decent considering the time of the day. There may or may not be cheaper service companies but their service is worth it to me. I have compared oil delivery prices with other area competitors and they seem to be within the norm for the area. read more

Absolute criminals. We called to have them NOT deliver oil unless we request it, this way we can budget accordingly. They ignored our requests and filled up the tank anyway (forcing us to pay the bill). This went on for months before we finally switched companies. Prior to switching, we installed a lock box on the oil tank to ensure DDM wouldn't fill it back up. Sure enough, we got a call stating that the technician couldn't fill up...yeah...because we didn't call you and didn't want oil! When we switched, we ended up saving .40/gallon anyway! I was so pleased with everyone I dealt with including Caleb Wisler in Sales, Don Wadsworth the installer, Rob and Bob Kellett who also helped install. They worked cleanly, efficiently, professionally and handled all of my requests. I would recommend HOP Energy (Brinker) for heater and air conditioning installation. read more

I have had DDM Energy for about 10 years now. I get a service plan every year, do the fixed price for oil, and am on the automatic delivery program. For the third year in a row, we have run out of oil in the winter. So much for their computer monitoring system to ensure you never run out of oil. I called at 6:45 am and was told someone would be out with oil first thing. They didn't arrive until 3 pm and now we have to wait for a separate tech to restart our boiler and I was told that could take 48 hours due to the cold causing them to be busy. So glad I pay over $300 a year for a service plan and have autodelivery to ensure I never run out of oil.... read more
