I originally called Ferro for an oil furnace tune-up. The person I spoke with made me feel very…read morecomfortable with their services and quoted me $219 for the tune-up. After the tune-up was completed, I was charged $498 total. I later discovered that I had apparently been charged $219 per hour, rather than the $219 total price I was quoted. This hourly rate was never disclosed to me when I scheduled the service. The technician himself told me that my furnace was in good shape and that this was a regular tune-up for him. I called the office that same day to address the issue, and the woman at the front desk confirmed to me that their tune-ups are $219. She told me she would pass my information along to Mr. Ferro. I never received a call from him and eventually had to follow up myself. When I finally spoke with someone, the explanation seemed to be that the technician had to perform a significant amount of additional work on my furnace. That does not match what I was told by the technician, nor what I understood was being performed when I authorized the $219 tune-up. I also contacted two other local oil companies afterward, and both told me that $438 in labor for a routine oil furnace tune-up was extremely excessive. My biggest issue isn't simply the price -- it's the lack of transparency about the $219-per-hour charge. If I had been told upfront that $219 was an hourly labor rate, I could have made an informed decision before authorizing the work. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend Ferro. I feel the pricing was not transparent, and the way my concern was handled afterward was disappointing.

The first company was incapable of resolving the problem. I tried DZO. Within a few days two men arrived and fixed the problem in 30 minutes. We discussed a second issue and made a future appointment for resolve as they needed additional materials. Second issue solved. I canceled with my previous company. Today they did a regular bi-annual maintenance call. Some additional cleaning was done, however, I had been told about this at the last visit. We set a date for the fall. The prices are comparable to my prior company. DZO is responsive, professional and competent. I'm glad I gave them a try. Their performance exceeded my expectations!

Luckily I found this place and saw they were open, so decided to call. Service came out within an hour or two and fixed the issue! However our unit is old and a bandaid didn't do the trick. We wound up needed a whole new unit after getting a few opinions/looking at financing options. Throughout this process, Delfera was so understanding and communicative. More than anything they were incredibly patient. They were able to replace the unit only a few days after we told them we were ready which was incredible! The whole process took a day since we had the furnace replaced too. When they were done installing the owner came by to make sure everything was done correctly and brought us chocolate covered pretzels. We were SO pleased with this customer service from start to finish and will absolutely recommend them to anyone in the area.

I have had these guys out here 4 different times and have gotten 4 different diagnosis. They came out in May and replaced my AC blower. Then when it was still not blowing cool air in June, I had them come out for a cleaning. They clean the system and then a month later it's not blowing cool air again. So they come out and tell me I need a new system. I rejected this so I had them come out a 4th time to do a full system diagnostic. I thought I was getting that with the clean I paid for a month earlier. I would have thought that would be the first thing they would do. Well...after the diagnostic, I come to find out that the whole problem was a dirty filter. I never replaced it. I swore I did, but I guess I messed up. I am not the professional though. The professionals should have caught this on day 1 when they replaced the blower motor. Or at least, they definitely should have figured this out when doing the cleaning in June. I honestly believe that they were just trying to make me feel like my AC was beat so that they could sell me a new system. The neglect doesn't just stop at not replacing or even taking notice of the filter, it gets worse. After the 4th service call last week, I go down the basement and noticed that the air filter is the wrong size by several inches. I ended up having to pay that guy 13$ for the filter. If it's 13$ it should fit right. You think they could of tossed that in after they kept screwing me, but no. The real funny thing was that they didn't even bother to clean the air intake. It was so caked and matted with dust and b.s. that hardly any air can pass through to the machine. How was this not a part of the cleaning. They also wanted to charge me an additional 6 hundred to clean dirty coils and interior parts. I am confused as to why this would be separate from the original cleaning and why was I not told about this before. never the less, tech #4 showed me pictures of the inside of my dirty system. So either that wasn't part of the original cleaning or it wasn't done properly in June. I will tell you that I am excited to not need a new system just yet. It is nearing its time but it truly feels that this company was just trying to speed up the process. I am including a picture of the dirty intake vent. Am I supposed to clean that myself? Really, I'm asking an honest question ? Should that be part of a system clean? If so, your technicians aren't working thoroughly. If not, then at the very least, take notice and tell me about the problem. I even emailed them a picture of this vent that was left like this. They tire of me because they already got my money. I have no idea, but the toilet is working fine now. While he was here for the toilet repair I had Mike give me a quote for a water-powered sump-pump backup. I was prepared to pay whatever the cost and have no idea (again) if the $1750 I paid for it was "a good price," but the job is done and the peace of mind I now have is worth the cost of installation. Mike is fast to respond, local, and follows-through on his promises. All the work was done promptly and I wouldn't hesitate to use Mike again in the future.

They fixed our problem super quick by jumping the condenser but told us that that it was a temporary fix and they didn't know how long it would last. I asked for a quote for a completely new condenser unit. After some research their price seemed very fair. They responded quickly and were out installing by Monday or Tuesday. Installation, including moving the condenser further away from the house's gas line took less than a day. They even came back later to change out the thermostat to a more modern one. We were trying to get a smart thermostat but we didn't have the C wire which the thermostat needs for constant power. They tried more than one solution and were there for hours. Unfortunately they couldn't make it work. But I was happy with the effort and it showed they cared about the service they were providing.

S&D Mechanical...Such a disappointment. Our a/c was acting up and we called S&D who was referred…read moreto us. He came out and checked out the a/c and advised us what he "thought" was the problem and said it should be okay. Two days later we had to leave him a message to come back as the a/c wasn't working once again. He came back out and replaced a breaker switch in our electric panel in the family room. Yep...again the a/c failed to be fixed. We called him back 4 times and left him messages that went unanswered. He was the one who told us that the was not going to leave us high and dry without a/c and he would be back should we need him. $245.00 later we are still waiting for him to either show up or call us. The phone is growing cobwebs waiting for his return call. We had to hire another a/c repair man who identified the problem as a connector issue and had it fixed within 1 hour of his time. You can best believe we will be using the 2nd guy who did the job right. Someone should report S&D Mechanical to the BBB for poor customer service. Hmmmm. Off I go the the BBB site.
