I went in today because my car was making a weird noise. The guy told me to give him an hour to give me a quote. He calls me and tells me that he can do it for over $900. Then he brought it down to $800 when I told him it was too much. He called me back and said he found a cheaper part and could do it for $650. He said they could finance and give me payments but I'd prefer to wait and have it towed back with my insurance company that gives me free towing. Then I was shocked when he said to give him 3 hours to take the part out since he had already fixed it when I didn't authorize him to do that. He calls me back again and tells me he can't have my car back till the next day because he was swamped with work. The last time he agrees to charge me $500 that I originally thought was a fair price for a pump that he purchased from AutoZone for $210 with taxes. He said he was loosing money by fixing my car. Maybe don't take on more work if you are "swamped ". Maybe don't fix my car without my permission. This shop doesn't value people's time. Had to miss work because of this. We drove all the way from Idaho to buy a car from D&H Auto. I looked online for dealers with the highest ratings in Idaho, Utah, and California. D & H had great rating with customers raving about them. We especially liked that they are family owned. I spoke with Dominick and he gave me all the details about a car we wanted four our son. We drove to Ventura, California and took a train to the Whittier area so we wouldn't have to drive 2 cars back through an area we didn't know well. Dominick picked us up from the train station in the car we wanted to buy. It was in great shape and priced very fairly. Our son has owned the car for almost a month. His mechanic said it was in great shape. We took a chance on D & H, and trusted them. We are so grateful we found them. They are very honest, and have earned their impeccable reputation. A note of gratitude & thanks to this fine establishment for helping hubby & I get his Tahoe fixed up to pass the smog. For awhile my husband had had his check engine light on his vehicle & I found out about a program that would assist with getting the issue fixed through the Bureau of Automotive Repair (it's called the Consumer Assistance Program). Well long story short we qualified & after a disastrous experience with another shop I did a little research through the B.A.R website & saw the this place was the only spot listed. Well we're not disappointed & beyond grateful for having found out about this place. I got to meet a few of the fellas at the shop & Sal was phenomenally helpful. On the first day I showed up an elderly woman was in & after sparking some conversation she let me know she'd been coming here for many years & that she's trusted this place. Well I too now trust this place. They fixed the issues wrong with our vehicle & got it to pass smog. No more check engine light. They replaced some sensors & vapor vent solenoid & we recently received the new tags in the mail. I'm grateful for the great work done & am glad I found a place that does help out people with the C.A.P program, not just any shop is willing to work with this particular program. It takes a shop with people that have patience & a heart to deal with the back & forth involved with a program designed to help people & the fact this place does tells me the owner has a huge heart for the people. According to Sal this place has been open since 1995 & with the passion this shop has to help with automotive needs I'm sure it will continue to stand. Thank you once again D & D Automotive. I paid for the smog to get done. Owner/worker told me to drive car a couple hundred miles to make sure everything was good before getting service. I had a baby and was sick. Time passed. I came back about a year later with the receipt as directed and the response you need to pay again. I never had the service til today and he charged for service again. This place had no policy or even policy on place when I first paid for service. They are scammers! On top he was very rude! Like extremely.. shouldn't be in business with nasty cocky attitude.. basically paid 2x for 1 service.. do not go here! read more

My brother raves about this place so I thought I'd let them smog my small diesel RV. They quoted me $128! I said it was a ridiculous price and that's when snippy told me I could go somewhere else. Their excuse for the high price was because it was an RV. For no reason they think they can charge more. Well I took their advice, closed my hood and got outta there. I went in for my first smog check ever. My car had the check engine light on, the technician knew that because he checked my vehicle. They proceeded with the smog check knowing that it would not pass. I did not know this, because it was the first time I had ever gone in for a smog check. The smog did not pass and they still charged me. At the time, I was on hard times and I really needed that money. I cried and told them that they should give me my money back but they refused. I used to take my vehicles here for smog checks, now his prices are way higher than all the other places, and it seams like he looks for for piddly ass problems to fail you after it passes hydrocarbon test. The other reason is that corner is a used car lot now, trying to pull in and park is no bargain. You can't even get in the parking lot. There are much better places locally. read more

Currently sitting in the lobby and much more comfortably than most times I've been in a mechanics waiting room. When he put my car on the raised table he brought me over, showed me the issues, showed me what it was supposed to look like and where the problem areas were. I'll be the first to tell you I'm not a car guy and downright bad at cars, him walking me through it, picking up the phone and speaking with me before I came in really makes a world of difference. The best treatment of handicapped!! I needed my smog certificate and when I drove in the owner,Sal, must have noticed my walker in the back of my car. He told me I would not have to get out to wait while the test was preformed. I really appreciated that. I am in my 70s and while I can lift the walker in and out, after a couple of stops it gets cumbersome. He told me for any work needed they would pick up my car or take me home if I took it in.
