They knowingly sell fakes and got me twice. I was able to return one item where the woman accepting acknowledged it then said - she told you it was fake, right? First - no, second- it's illegal to sell fakes. Don't believe anything in there. They will not pay for authentication and cannot be trusted. Beyond that the ladies that work there are rather clueless. This place really only exists because it's the only option. read more

A nightmare if you're a consignor. As a previous poster said they try to get you to agree that you're responsible if THEY lose merchandise. I was told they'd pull items that didn't sell when I picked up my check and they didn't. I ended up wandering around the store trying to find my things. If you are consigning go elsewhere - find an eBay expert, go online yourself, go to another store etc. This place stinks. read more

After writing a negative review of the Designer Consignor, I was contacted by the owner of the shop. He apologized for my experience and offered to reimburse me for the highest cost of my missing clothes. This quality of customer service is the polar opposite of my first interaction with the boutique, and a very pleasant surprise. I was also pleased to hear that the woman who initially helped me (or didn't help me, as the case was), no longer works for the Designer Consignor. I'll chalk my experience up to growing pains because the boutique is new. It seems like it's worth another try. read more

Worst possible service. Last time I visited this shop there were two women working, I was the only customer in the store. They were unbelievably rude and gave me the impression that I was intruding and unwelcome. I had to ask repeatedly to view an item which was on display but not accessible. It was more than rudeness, it was like they had an antagonistic attitude toward me. They have only a smattering of the designer items they advertise and very little of the merchandise is beyond the ordinary, however you may be able to make a big score because whoever is pricing items is inept and apparently only know the designer names they tout like Tory Burch, Kate Spade, Prada etc. They have some items from lesser-known names which are priced very low vs. their value. In other words, the pricing is done based on the label; no one here has an eye for quality. I was very glad I didn't see anything that I wanted, because I frankly wouldn't want to support this business. An amateur operation. Not worth the sour vibes. read more

I loved this store! It clean, organized, and the staff is very friendly. The prices are good for consignment, but great if you buy an item that's been marked down to it's lowest price (i.e. after two months of being in the store). The 'couture' area was decent, and the store even had a 2 for $10 deal for some clothes on a rack outside. Plenty of beautiful handbags and shoes. I bought a brand new designer bag in perfect condition for an amazing price. Of course I'll be back! read more

This Consignment shop is huge!! Not like those other cramped resale stores downtown. They have very fair prices and an amazing selection of high end shoes and handbags. Definitely worth making DC Consignments you "GO To" shop for everything. I'm always able to find excellent buys, especially the designer lines! Very knowledgeable, friendly staff, willing to take the time and be very helpful. I love walking out with a bagful of designer clothes, knowing that I only spent a fraction of what they cost at department stores, they even beat other well known discount shops. I found this place by accident.. and boy am I happy! I thought they had a good selection, with fair pricing. At first, I saw just the starting price with size, etc on the tag.. in some cases, it was high. But then I noticed the updated discount pricing on the back.. i.e. the longer it is there, the cheaper it gets. Well, I got a nice CK cocktail dress for $25!! To give you an ideas, it retails for about $120. Marshalls would want $60-70; DC had it for $40, then discounted. I found a lot of great deals like that. PROS: nice variety, clean store, friendly staff, [mostly] reasonable prices. CONS: a few of the nicer items are a bit pricey. EX's designer bags and fur coats. You'd be surprised what you can get on sale at Macy's or Lord & Taylor's for less. But hey- if it works for them, so be it. I will definitely be going back. Happy I found the place! read more

If you are looking to sell designer clothes I would not sell here. Extremely disappointed with the money that I made. Brought in very nice leather purses (Kate spade, dooney, coach) and barely made any money off of them. Brought in a nice Burberry jacket and barley made anything off of it. I've been shopping/selling at both the Natick & Dedham stores for over a year. Have only had great experiences...especially when owner, Michael is working! He has great insight into fashion trends and a realistic pricing take on the fabulous selection of designer purses. Really fun shopping experience...don't even bother stopping at Marshal's Or TJ's anymore...this is where you'll find really great designer additions to your wardrobe. Do not consign here! I went in with 6 pair of designer jeans and when I went to pick them up because none of them sold they could only find 3 of the 6 pairs! So they either lost them or mismarked them and sold them under someone else's account. Either way they are very unorganized and don't seem to care that they've "misplaced" your merchandise. Be aware that you sign a contract with them saying that they aren't responsible for lost merchandise, how convenient, so you're better off selling on ebay or craigslist. read more

Never, never consign at DC Consignments!! You are better off donating your clothes and other items. The store lost 33% of my consigned items! I consigned 9 items and when I went to pick up the items that did not sell at the end of the 90 day period, 3 of my designer (Michael Kors and Lilly Pulitzer) items were "missing." After an additional 3 months of "looking" for the missing items, they were not found. Either my items were lost or stolen. Regardless, this consignment store has zero security measures and a disorganized way of monitoring people's consigned items. The employees working commented there was nothing they could do and that was the risk I took, while handing me the owners email address to further lodge a compliant. In sum, don't waste your time consigning here- poor management and poor service. read more

My first experience with consignment and I couldn't be more pleased! I had a large amount of designer items that I wanted to sell so I could donate the proceeds to charity.. The very friendly staff at the store met with me and explained in detail to me the value of each item and then suggested that I speak with Michael, the owner, to discuss the charity piece. I met with him the following week and he couldn't have been more professional and understanding. We worked up an agreement that allowed me to get the maximum value for my items...resulting in a very large donation to the American Cancer Society! read more

I would not consign or shop here- I went into the Natick store (admittedly not dressed to the 9's) to look into selling some clothing - I was not greeted - I was given a once over- I was made to feel like I lived in a trailer home... Upon packing up my high end clothing a nicely dressed woman walked into the store and was warmly greeted from across the room. I have shopped in high end boutiques in Palm Beach and Rodeo Drive and have NEVER been felt to feel like I was not welcome. read more

The service needs to improve if they are really serious about their business. We were barely greeted when we walked in, and no one even bothered to ask if we needed help or if we knew how they priced their items. The women at the front were rude, they did not even acknowledge us until I asked to look at an item that was behind the counter. After I decided to purchase something my item was thrown into a ripped plastic bag! For Pete's sake I paid about one hundred dollars, the least they could was give me a bag that was not ripped.The clothes are ancient and over priced. Love This Place ! Love their store in Dedham Too ! The Owner and his Mom are almost always there to be found and are ALWAYS willing to answer any questions and or help with anything ! The staff has NEVER been rude to me as one other woman stated, they are ALWAYS professional and curterous ! I have been both a customer and consigner there since they opened their doors and it has been a WONDERFUL experience ! When you consign you can check out how you are doing on their web site ! If you have sold items it will show what you are owed and they are all too happy to send you out a check ! I can't tell you just HOW many times that little and sometimes big check has come in handy ! The selection and quality of their items is VERY good and you can be sure that you WILL find some incredible hidden gems for yourself or for that person whom you are shopping for ! Don't EVEN give quality a second thought, as they WILL NOT consign items that are not good condition ! I am SHOCKED at the other not so favourable review for this store...It is a FUN FUN FUN place to shop and a FANTASTIC way to dress beautifully WITHOUT breaking the bank !
