Had check engine light come on and came in on an early Saturday morning and Dave told me he will check it out for me. Gave me a call within an hr and told me the issue. Called back a couple hrs later and said it was fixed. Fast, reliable, and very great customer service! One of the best local repair shops in town. Straightforward and to the point. read more

I described my car situation to the owner and he said I need to get the water pump and timing belt replaced. The estimate was $1,340. Soon I found out that my car, a 2007 Lexus ES350, does not use timing belt but a timing chain which was designed to last as long as the engine not to be replace every 90,000 miles as he told me. And the water pump was fine, just the hoses were leaked. I will never come to this place. read more

I brought my car to check water pump. Dave said it needed water pump and timing belt. I left my car and Dave charged me $1500. I took to another shop after it overheated within a week and i was told the water pump nor timing belt was never changed so this guy also stole things from my car tools, etx. When i asked for my stuff back they threw it at me. NEVER, EVER GO TO THESE PEOPLE. They will lie and take your money and gang up on you. They should be put out of business! They are crooks and big liars! The worst you could ever choose. read more

I took my car because I thought it was having transmission issues. I mention that to the owner and he said to leave the car and that they would check it. He Called me back saying it was the motor mounts (which I thought was weird, but what do I know they're the experts) charged me $600+ to get the motor mounts done picked up my car Friday by Monday I was stuck in the middle of the street unable to shift my car in to any gears. (Late to work and with kids ) I brought it back again and of course they want more (5k) because they ignore my first request. I no longer trust them and I wouldn't recommend them. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DC AUTO REPAIR SHOP! MY CAR HAS NEVER DRIVEN THE SAME SINCE BRINGING IT TO THIS DUMP! ONE OF THE WORST & SCARIEST CAR REPAIR EXPERIENCES I'VE EVER HAD! I REGRET EVER TAKING MY CAR TO THEM! David: unapologetic for HIS half ass repairs to your car, grumpy & mean (ALL THE TIME), he needs to remove all the junky cars out of the way, super rude, lacks customer service, pathetic liar, unresponsive that is until you call him 20 to 30 times, theif, unorganized, drives customers' cars...YES HE AND/OR HIS IDIOT BROTHER WILL DRIVE YOUR CAR TO GOD KNOWS WHERE (I gave him my car on 3/4 tank of gas and got it back on E), no accountability (he'll tell you it's not their fault if your car still isn't working), sloppy, doesn't listen, talker (in an effort to confuse and over charge you), disgusting body odor, disregards customer concerns, doesn't greet customers, ungrateful, rarely answers the phone during business hours, nosey (he and/or his brother went thru my trunk - I could see/smell oily fingerprints) (why would they do this?) and more! His brother: know-it-all attitude, rude, pathetic liar, useless, sloppy, unhelpful, clueless, loud mouth, pathetic, disgusting body odor, doesn't greet customers...just stares you down, he makes weird sounds to alert his brother of possible trouble, and more! Young short Hispanic guy: seems clueless, doesn't greet customers, seems weird and goes along with whatever David or his brother tells him! read more

I took my car to DC Auto Friday due to issues I had with my brake system. The owner filled me in on what was wrong and had me leave my vehicle until the needed piece came in. My car was repaired by Tuesday for a good price. I would 100% recommend this shop to anyone especially women if you are looking for a hones and fair mechanic. 10 out of 10 service and he was very funny to speak with totally down to earth gentleman. read more

I have been taking my cars to DC auto repair for quite a few years now. I always get a better price that what I have been quoted at Firestone and Toyota. Mechanic Eric always does a great job fixing my car and always within the time promised. Owner Dave is nice and gives fair prices. I will continue to bring my cars here. Great service read more

I thought because a family member of mine had used this business that it would be safe, it wasn't. They "fixed" my car charging about almost 900, then a month later the light came on. I live far so I wasn't able to get the car back to them right away, but when I did I asked what was fixed because I couldn't locate my receipt, and I was told he'd have to search for my record, which would take a while. Long story short, I found my invoice and saw that the work he was trying to charge me for a second time, was supposedly done already the first time, and he was trying to charge an additional 744. This place is unprofessional, a rip off, and a scam! DO NOT TAKE YOUR BUSINESS HERE, you'll regret it! I took my car to the dealership and they saw he had also changed part that didn't need to be changed. They ended up charging me for the diagnostic and the part and work was only 330. Car is running way better now, thanks Toyota! read more

I took my car to them an 6 mos ago he claimed he did all this work first my car never had a ticking noise which I took it back at 3 times an they kept adding oil but he supposeily did an oil change, I took my car in cause it was rough riding an was hard to get that 3 rpm he knew that, why 6 mos later I'm having the same problem I believe the problem I took it in for never was fixed read more

Man they are not honest mechanics at all! Few years back my disabled aunt took her car for tune up. They changed the spark plugs but put old wires back on new plugs.... Recently another friend of mine took their car there and they did some bogus shit where the car had to be brought back back and forth.... They are pure trash and not honest at all. stop ripping people off!!!!! Stop ripping women off read more

Very friendly over there very knowledgeable of their product and it looks very good. I highly recommend it.

So my my grandmother gave this dude 800.00 up front to fix her power steering pump. He still has not fixed it and keeps telling her he doesn't have time. It's been a year now. A YEAR AND HE WONT GIVE HER BACK HER MONEY. Dude! Give her back her money already. read more

I took my van to DC Auto this afternoon without even an appointment and the owner, David was so kind and he took care of the problem within an hour. Cannot understand how he is not being recognized by the city of San Pablo as a model citizen. He is an essential worker for God's sake and to work on a Saturday when other auto repair shops are closed, and also, the way David takes such good care of his customers. He really makes you feel at home and he treats you as if you are family. This is how a community should operate. The city of San Pablo is privileged to have him. read more

DC Auto Repair is my savior, I brought in my Civic for front brake pad and rotor replacement and the front calipers ended up needing replacement. Luckily shop owner has auto parts for a great price in my opinion, and the repair was faster than if I would've done the service myself. Reliable, straight to the point and exceptional customer service. I would recommend to anyone needed repair. read more

DC Auto Repair - Auto Repair Near Me - San Pablo, California

NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!.. These robbers wanted to charge me $504.00 bucks to change the radiator on a 2007 Jeep Cherokee.. Dave told me on the phone this job was a "BITCH TO HANDLE" taking a long time.... Also Charging me and additional $40-$80 for his BS diagnostic style.. Totaling me almost $600.00 I picked up my vehicle took it home.. Opened the hood and had my radiator out/in in less than an hour with only two tools... New Radiator cost me $115.00 Coolant $60.00 Time 60 to 90 min by my calculations Dave would have charged me about 4 to 5 hours of labor to do this job in a professional shop which would have probally taken him less time than I did... STAY AWAY FROM THESE ROBBERS!!! read more

Once again Danny comes to my rescue. I had a radiator issue on Friday and I called him on the fly to see if he could help on the fly. They ordered another radiator immediately and installed it that same afternoon. He gave me a good price and they stayed till 8:30 pm to fix it and it came out perfect. They even tested it several times just to make sure everything was good to go before I left. I'm back on the road and can now rest assure now. DC Motors is awesome and I recommend them to everyone read more

David is so down to earth. I took my Daughter car in for a bad alternator and it was down within a few hours.

I FEEL CHEATED! Dave is very unprofessional and does not stand behind his work. After not fixing the problem with my car (I had to bring it back 3 times) he gave me attitude and just brushed me off after I paid him my hard earned money. Times are tough. I don't have money to waste. He didn't do a diagnostic; just replaced parts based on my description of the problem. He is moody and tries to work on too many cars at one time. Less mistakes would be made if he took his time and did it right! I'll never be back. I have two friends who are not happy with him either. I don't have the time to write a review but the public needs to know. read more

We gave Dave and D.C Auto alot of business over the last several years because I used to leave only a few blocks away and Dave seemed like a cool guy. Unfortunately I will no longer give them my business. I took my car to them and they replaced my transmission and catalytic converter. I had to take the car back at least 4 times because the transmission was leaving from the pan, then I was getting hard shifts from 1-2nd and they had to clean the shift solenoids on a supposedly "new rebuilt transmission". Now my issue with them is that they sourced out the work for the catalytic converter apparently, however I paid D.C Auto for everything and went to get my car smogged and it failed the inspection because the model of the catalytic converter is not meant for my vehicle. Looking up the part # the technician gave me the cat they installed is for FORD/CHEV/DODGE trucks. This caused my vehicle to fail the smog check and now I have to pay several hundred dollars again because I have to buy the right cat and have it installed. I contacted Dave at DC Auto who told me pretty much tough luck I'm out of warranty and they didnt put it on. Then he left me on hold. At the very least he could have offered some type of compensation. Because they should have inspected the car when they got it back to make sure the work was done right. (if that's even true) Its pretty bad when a business who has had an entire family always bring them their car puts the $$ before the repeat/loyal customer. read more

Horrible service and not trusted part. This place will cost you more money to repair your car.

Can not believe I am the first to write a review for DC Auto. The owner Dave is great. He is knowledgeable, trustworthy and fair in his prices. We have had him take care of our cars for the past 11 years, even my old Ford Taurus. Dave kept her running until I finally bought a new car. Now my new car is 5 years old and out of warranty. It's back with Dave. Oh, and Dave is quick. The car is in and out in one day. He even stayed after hours to wait for my car to be towed in from SF. I highly recommend taking your ailing car to Dave in you live in the East Bay. read more

David, the owner of this business is a great guy. He isn't trying to scam you or play you out but he tries his best to get the job done. So basically I had a check engine light, he recommended getting a tuneup which I agreed to. He was not able to fix the problem with the oxygen sensor that he installed but he did refund me the labor and the oxygen sensor costs which is very kind of him. I wish he was more direct, so we could settled the matter sooner, but I did end up getting the oxygen sensor problem fixed somewhere else. read more
