I took my car because I thought it was having transmission issues. I mention that to the owner and he said to leave the car and that they would check it. He Called me back saying it was the motor mounts (which I thought was weird, but what do I know they're the experts) charged me $600+ to get the motor mounts done picked up my car Friday by Monday I was stuck in the middle of the street unable to shift my car in to any gears. I thought because a family member of mine had used this business that it would be safe, it wasn't. They "fixed" my car charging about almost 900, then a month later the light came on. I live far so I wasn't able to get the car back to them right away, but when I did I asked what was fixed because I couldn't locate my receipt, and I was told he'd have to search for my record, which would take a while. Long story short, I found my invoice and saw that the work he was trying to charge me for a second time, was supposedly done already the first time, and he was trying to charge an additional 744. Once again Danny comes to my rescue. I had a radiator issue on Friday and I called him on the fly to see if he could help on the fly. They ordered another radiator immediately and installed it that same afternoon. He gave me a good price and they stayed till 8:30 pm to fix it and it came out perfect. NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!.. These robbers wanted to charge me $504.00 bucks to change the radiator on a 2007 Jeep Cherokee.. Dave told me on the phone this job was a "BITCH TO HANDLE" taking a long time.... Also Charging me and additional $40-$80 for his BS diagnostic style.. Totaling me almost $600.00 I picked up my vehicle took it home.. Opened the hood and had my radiator out/in in less than an hour with only two tools... New Radiator cost me $115.00 Coolant $60.00 Time 60 to 90 min by my calculations Dave would have charged me about 4 to 5 hours of labor to do this job in a professional shop which would have probally taken him less time than I did... After not fixing the problem with my car (I had to bring it back 3 times) he gave me attitude and just brushed me off after I paid him my hard earned money. Times are tough. I don't have money to waste. He didn't do a diagnostic; just replaced parts based on my description of the problem. He is moody and tries to work on too many cars at one time. We gave Dave and D.C Auto alot of business over the last several years because I used to leave only a few blocks away and Dave seemed like a cool guy. Unfortunately I will no longer give them my business. I took my car to them and they replaced my transmission and catalytic converter. I had to take the car back at least 4 times because the transmission was leaving from the pan, then I was getting hard shifts from 1-2nd and they had to clean the shift solenoids on a supposedly "new rebuilt transmission". Now my issue with them is that they sourced out the work for the catalytic converter apparently, however I paid D.C Auto for everything and went to get my car smogged and it failed the inspection because the model of the catalytic converter is not meant for my vehicle. Looking up the part # the technician gave me the cat they installed is for FORD/CHEV/DODGE trucks. This caused my vehicle to fail the smog check and now I have to pay several hundred dollars again because I have to buy the right cat and have it installed. I contacted Dave at DC Auto who told me pretty much tough luck I'm out of warranty and they didnt put it on. Then he left me on hold. At the very least he could have offered some type of compensation. Because they should have inspected the car when they got it back to make sure the work was done right. (if that's even true) Its pretty bad when a business who has had an entire family always bring them their car puts the $$ before the repeat/loyal customer. read more

David, the owner of this business is a great guy. He isn't trying to scam you or play you out but he tries his best to get the job done. So basically I had a check engine light, he recommended getting a tuneup which I agreed to. He was not able to fix the problem with the oxygen sensor that he installed but he did refund me the labor and the oxygen sensor costs which is very kind of him. I wish he was more direct, so we could settled the matter sooner, but I did end up getting the oxygen sensor problem fixed somewhere else. read more
