Stopped by yesterday while driving around the middle TN area. Our server was the manager, which was impressive for me that the manager would step in with a sudden influx of people. The place has indoor and outdoor seating. Overall, it feels more like a pizza joint, but since pizza is one of the big draws that is as expected. There is a small bar area, as well, and they have happy hour during the week. All is well here. Also have pac man and donky kong consoles near a private room on the patio side. Not sure that makes a difference, but it sure feels like pizza places in the 80s to me (showing my age?). I tried the "most popular pizza", the Pizza Maker's special. The pizza is very good. The crust is thin and made on premises. They use corn meal on the bottom which helps both with the crispiness and adding some texture (and a bit of flavor). And don't be afraid to try this even if you are unsure of some of the toppings (like "I don't like olives on pizza") as my friend, who is not a huge olive fan, tried it and was impressed. The flavors meld together and blend well and the cheese and crust add a great flavor base. If I had one complaint it would be the pizza is too rich (first world problems?). This means I could not eat it every day. NOTE: It was a great "cold pizza" breakfast item on the way to work church services at 6 AM. Pricing is not bad and I went ahead and paid $2 to go from 14" to 16" (because why not? Or it was breakfast?) The beer selection is okay (read my other reviews and you will see a trend?). There are some local beers, but if I owned the place I would work a different mix of brews than what is on at the moment. Lagers work well with pizza, especially one that is a bit sweeter; that is where I would go. Okay, nobody asked my opinion anyway and, even being a warm spring day, enjoyed the porter. Service was great and even saw the server with other tables was on top of things. They still have grits on the menu, ala Trueloves, but my understanding is the food has improved since those days. We visited DBs for the first time tonight and we were treated with amazing service and great pizza. We sat on the patio with our dog and they immediately brought him water. Our dog was also given ground beef as a snack, how kind! The food came out fast, the pizza was nice and hot, and they did not skip on the toppings! Great price point for the quality. So, I have seen the DB's building but never really knew what it was. Just happened to scan Yelp for a pizza to be delivered and then realized ...oh, it's a Pizza place and other things. We ordered a large, meat lover's pizza to be delivered. It sure looked good when it arrived! They didn't cut back on ingredients. The pizza was amazing! Their crust is different than any other pizza place. Really good. We want to go inside and eat next time. Great pizza! Really good. Happy to find this place so I can delete my Pizza Hut, and Papa John apps off my phone. read more

The place is clean. The soda is cold. And the staff seems to enjoy each other's company quite a bit. Other than that, I have no clue. There were four tables and a front staff of three so our odds seemed good. Nope. We got our drinks after a ten minute wait but 15 minutes after that we left because we never saw our server again. Except when he was chatting with the only other table he was waiting on. The other front staff had a lovely, convivial chat at the table next to us as they cleaned it up but they didn't bother to even look our way, let alone interact with us. Times are tough for restaurants and I am trying to stay aware of that, but with four tables and three servers there's no excuse for ignoring people trying to spend money in their establishment. My wife and I stopped here for lunch and 2 stars is a generous score. As you can see from the attached picture the onion rings had more uncooked batter than cooked. I had one bite and it was gross. The waitress asked if I wanted another batch but it had already taken long enough that I declined. The rest of our food was average at best. The people are nice but the food is not. read more

Been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and finally made it there tonight with the family, it's a nice place and seems very clean and the staff is super friendly. For appetizers we got the garlic knots and fried pickles both were excellent, but the fried pickles are even better than the fair. We were here on 6/18/22. We're in town for a softball tournament and had a long game break. DB's is the perfect place to grab some good pizza, cold beer and relax. We've been to Tennessee twice and by far had the best customer service at DB's. I love thin crust pizza that is cook medium well (if that makes sense) and DB's nailed it. I will absolutely come back. When walking in you can tell this is a hometown pizzeria. It's hard to find one now days that aren't a chain. It immediately made my son and I feel like I've been a part of this community for years. Dispute the fact I live in Florida I've only been to one local pizzeria that made me feel this way and it was in Salem, Oregon many years ago. Stopped in as we were driving through and so glad we did! We ordered the garlic knots to start and YUM! They were crispy with the perfect amount of butter/salt/garlic on the outside but the steamy soft inside is what finished it off perfectly! They come with a wonderful marinara sauce but the knots are good either way. Plain or dipped. I had the 10" meat lovers pizza but removed the Canadian bacon. Just not a fan. It was delish!! Still had pepperoni, bacon, and sausage on a very thin and crunchy crust with the right amount of sauce and cheese. It was a little oily but racking that up to getting a meat pizza. I would order it again. Hubs had the cheeseburger with a side salad. He was not expecting much since we were at a pizza place. There was not any left!! It was a thick burger cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of pink in the middle. It was juicy and flavorful. He said he would get it again. Parking is not the greatest. Just an FYI... 4 for service, but 2 for food. Sadly a very disappointing experience. We never visited before the recent rebranding, so we entered with no expectations. We found out the owners have several other restaurants in town, so we're hopeful for a good meal. The waitress was bubbly and helpful. She even brought us a sample of the grits and let us know they're a crowd favorite, so we gave 'em a whirl with chicken. Don't go off the photo on Yelp that the business loaded, because it is sorely inaccurate. The salad and grits were served on the same plate so the already un-fresh lettuce became coated with velveeta cornmeal mush. Not totally appetizing. Since they'd only been open a short while, I was shocked to find the shredded cheese on the salad was so old. You know when you have a block of cheddar on the fridge for way too long and it shrivels up and turns hard? That's what I mean. The chicken was tasty but barely warm so I suspect it too was not fresh. The pizza was fine, but nothing special. It actually reminded us of skating rink pizza. Overall, we wouldn't return, unless they start making at least the dressings in house and get higher quality ingredients. read more

Pizza was good, extra sauce helped, ordered well done bake. it was not well done in the middle, firmed up as it cooled off. sauce got better as it cooled off also. onion rings, the coating was cooked well, the HUGE pieces of onion were not really cooked much, they were cut wide with multiple layers, there were wuite a few though. the desert cinnamon knots were really good, as was the made icing. Had it delivered by door dash, Dale, We were in a hotel by the expressway, Dale and his wife don't deliver to a hotel room. Stopped here for lunch and ordered a burger with no bun and sweet potato fries. The burger comes out with the bun which is not too big of an issue but the sweet potato fries were so overcooked that they were half black all stuck together in a huge ball. If I were the waiter or waitress I would have noticed and not carried that out to a customer. I just ate the burger because I was in a hurry. It was nothing special. Wasn't bad wasn't great. Well they were a great place to pick up a pizza! But the last pizza pick was not so great they skimped on the toppings the pizza was not hot not cold but not hot I see it going down in quality and that's a shame because they used to have the best pizzas in town sorry but if you want to stay in business this is not the way to a Successful business I shouldn't have to pay for extra toppings there should be plenty on there already just saying what you want it's your business however it'll be a long time before I order pizza from here I may give it another chance in a few months to just see if they've increased their quality of their pizzas read more

We love this place. Our go too is the Hawaiian but honestly you can't go wrong with any of the options. Grits are the bomb.
