We stayed here for three nights at Thanksgiving. I meant to book the Hampton Inn on Riverside Drive…read moreoff I-75 but mistakenly booked this one. We also got a room for our daughter and her fiancé. All together we paid about $1,000 for the six room nights. That's a lot for the quality of this Hampton Inn. We've stayed at dozens of Hampton Inns, and this one is below average. All the staff were very friendly, although some seemed incompetent. Our king accessible room was large, but the furnishings were way past their prime, and all the rooms apparently need to be refurbished. We also had a problem with ants coming up through the carpet squares. We reported this and asked for some ant spray, but we didn't get it. The breakfast wasn't up to par, with some of the dishes cold and nothing except the waffles were very appetizing. All in all I'd say you would be better off with one of the other Hampton Inns in Macon and environs.

The view is stunning and the food is high quality. The rooms are nice, but could use a few more elegant touches, though that may seem out of all place with the camp-like atmosphere. The bedroom and bathroom are to the left out of direct site if the main door was open]. It was also clean and comfortable. The room is equipped with a full-sized refrigerator and a 2-burner stove (we didn't use since it was a short stay). There was also a dishwasher we did not use. Complementary breakfast was very good. There was an egg & spinach quich that was delicious! Cheddar biscuits and other pastries was also available along with muffins, boiled eggs, oatmeal & other cereals, yogurt, fruits, and a coffee bar. Nearby, there is a publix supermarket and a few fast food eateries within walking distance. The hotel offered ample parking and a well-lit lot. I did not use any other amenities, so I cannot speak for those. However, everything I used was amazing! I would definitely stay here again.
