We turned out the light for bed, and had termites crawling all over my son. When we checked we found a termite infestation and mold all over our room. Do not stay here!

Broken down mattress with stained padding.

The entrance and facilities downstairs were nice and clean. That is where the updates stop. My room was in need of service. From the faucet that sprays water all over the place to the mattress that was well past its prime. It felt like I was sleeping on a decline all night. When I pulled back the sheets it exposed a broken down mattress with stains. This is not a new problem. This isn't something that just happened. This is a problem that has been purposefully overlooked and that is not ok.

This hotel is a fairly typical Hampton Inn as to the rooms and the main facility, it appeared to be almost brand new. The breakfast is of course good with a decent selection (and is free, always nice). The room was clean and spacious and they had an interestingly stocked "mini-mart" which did not have like any diet soda or water but I'm always happy to see these since I don't usually have a car when I travel. In comparing this to other Hampton Inns it comes in at even. Two reasons I like this hotel in particular to other Hampton Inns. 1) Common Areas & Meeting Spaces: The common areas were very nice and beautiful. I liked the style of the lobby and the breakfast area. The meeting space we rented was spacious (not a cramped "Board room" like most hotels) and had room to unpack our stuff and move around. 2) The shower: I'm going to be honest, the shower was awesome and huge! Women you would have an easy time with the 800 bottles and things you need to take that 45min shower you love; and men, there is room for two. *smirk* To be serious, I always hate taking a shower in a tiny little tub and the curtain keeps blowing into you and sticking to you so this was an extremely welcome change. Overall, I totally recommend you stay here if you are rolling through town.

As a Diamond member I don't review much but can't help myself when service is above and beyond and when service is horrible. When I entered the hotel I was greeted by Zeke. I was greeted while he stared at my girlfriends tits. I ignored this. During the check in process I asked if he had any upgrades available. He said no we are booked tonight. I decided to check my app just to see. So I said to him you don't have this king suite with sofa bed available that is listed online. He said I can check again which honestly would be checking for the first time. He never said a word to me. He updated the check in sheet and gave me new key cards. We get to our room and it was the same room that we booked. In this room the shower has warm water at best and the TV has a nice blue hue to it. When I went downstairs to get something out of the car there was someone else at the desk. I asked him if they had any king bed suites with sofa bed available and he said yes. I'm absolutely appalled by the horrible customer service and deliberate lies and keep in mind I'm a Diamond member.

    More bites

I have stayed here 3 times this last vist was absolutely horrible. First night i was there I felt something biting me. Got up and seen alot of bites all over my back. Called the front desk and she came up there and we found a bug. Ive never seen bed bugs so didnt know what it was. Switched all bed clothes and the very next night i got attacked again. I talked to the manager the day after the first one. She said she looked over the room and seen nothing. Was not happy with the response so after the 2nd night i had enough i was gone.

First, the pros: the Porterdale Mill Lofts is a visually stunning and interesting place to live. It's full of history and character. As other reviewers have said, each unit is a little bit different, which adds intrigue among residents; we like to show our units to our friends and comment about unique aspects of our own space. The ceilings are high, the windows are gorgeous, the building is clean and full of friendly people. The staff is out of this world--helpful, welcoming, and quick to respond to any little thing. I've always felt safe here and my husband and I have really enjoyed being here. It feels like home, not like a transitory apartment-living situation. Now onto the cons: I've heard that in A and B buildings, the noise of neighbors is very limited. Unfortunately, this hasn't always been the case in our apartment, located in C. Honestly, though, I think we've just had really loud neighbors who cackle and play video games into the night, usually not even beginning until 10pm. I will say this: when we've called the after hours number, someone has ALWAYS taken care of the issue in only a few minutes' time. Because the ceilings are a bazillion feet high, your power bill will be a bit of a booger. If you control your thermostat, you'll be fine. It just takes a little practice. The pool is nice, but the music is nearly always country and residents (for understandable reasons) do not have access to change the station; bring your ear buds if you aren't a Carrie Underwood fan. Sometimes the "locals" wander in, despite posted signs that declare the pool for "PML Residents ONLY." If you call maintenance, they'll shoo them out in no time flat. Overall, this is a wonderful place to live. Porterdale has been neglected for a long time but is making a comeback. Many of the "cons" associated with living in the Lofts are not the fault of the staff; it's more an issue of location. Many of the locals are curious about the building and can sometimes be annoying, but the Lofts staff cannot be everywhere at once. All entrances are passcode protected and the staff is very responsive. I recommend this place all the time and we are happy to stay here for another year. This is the only apartment-style living arrangement we'd even consider outside of Atlanta.

THEY BROKE OUR CONTRACT LESS THAN TWO MONTHS BEFORE OUR WEDDING. The contract included the venue,…read morethe catering, the flowers, and most of the decorations. Meaning they left us with less than two months to completely start over in planning our entire wedding. They even have you sign the contract saying that you will not leave them any bad reviews (we should have known then), but since they are the ones that broke the contract I will make sure to leave the worst reviews on every site I can find. It started when Brandy emailed us somebody else's contract, showing us that for a cheaper price they got a lot more than we did. She said she didn't see what the big deal was. Then, the florist said that he was already doing two weddings that week and just couldn't handle the stress. (He is probably in the wrong line of work) We tried to explain to him that it was already included in the contract. We received a call afterwards from the company saying that the florist complained, saying that we were screaming at him and he refused to do business with us. That was a lie. There were many small things that suddenly were not included or different than what was agreed on when we first met. The next problem we had, had to do with the catering. Initially we were told that when we did the taste test that we would be able to choose from a menu what we would like to try and decide from there what we would like for the wedding. That changed as well. They then told us that since they do the taste tests for large groups of people they cannot cater to everyone's wants and that we would only be able to try what was on their menu for that month. So we went. We were the only family there. That meant they also lied about not being able to cater to us. They began to bring out the appetizers, which were almost inedible. One of the appetizers was a green fried tomato slider. There wasn't really any tomato in it so it just tasted like fried breading in bread. Another one was potato souffle if I remember correctly. Whatever it was, when we put our fork in it to take a bite, the entire thing came up like a rock. My mom commented that she could tell that the food had been pre-made but she assumed that it would be fresh for the wedding. That didn't go over too well, Brandy told us that she could bring out the pan that the food was cooked in.....like that was going to prove anything. Then she went in the kitchen and came back with someone else from the company. The first thing he said when he came out was: "Obviously there is nothing we can do to make you happy so you can come Wednesday to pick up your check." NO ONE SHOULD EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THOSE LIARS.

The large windows, brick interior, loft style, outdoor area (patio and garden) and river backdrop were beautiful (which made for wonderful photos). Guests immediately loved the place when they pulled up to the venue. I was set on getting married outside; however, because of rain the morning of the wedding and the wet grounds, our ceremony was held inside and cocktail hour was outside on the patio. Even though my heart was set on everything being outside (other than the reception), it was all beautiful and perfect. The bridal loft was definitely a plus since I had a large bridal party. It was a beautiful fully equipped loft style apartment that also made for great photos. I wouldn't change a thing about the venue other than its distance. This was a great find. I initially looked at the Cotton Warehouse in Monroe (which was also nice), but I am so grateful that Jakob told me about this place because it fit us perfectly.

I got the impression that lots of folks living in the area don't even know it's there, so it's truly a true a hidden gem. We found the ACC in the process of looking for a venue for a 50th wedding anniversary party. We rented the Tupelo Pavilion for its minimum eight hour rental period (including set-up and cleanup) at a very reasonable cost. The pavilion is perfect for an outdoor event and we loved its rustic charm. We had plenty of space for eating, mingling, and dancing. The pavilion is equipped with several large picnic tables, loads of bench seating, and a big catering kitchen with a fridge, commercial kitchen sink, and ice maker. Recycling containers are also provided. Restrooms are easily accessible. If you're planning on partying pretty hard and won't be able to drive out of there, Turner Cabin is available to rent overnight. It's nothing fancy but has two bedrooms, a full kitchen, two full bathrooms, a screened-in porch, and a wood-burning fireplace. Unfortunately, we only saw a small portion of the conservation center and didn't have enough time to fully explore the property the way we wanted. Approximately two miles of easy walking trails wind beside the river and through woods, swamps, and meadows, offering abundant wildlife viewing opportunities. Native plants and trees are easily identified with markers in various gardens. We definitely plan to go back and walk around the trails next time we are in town. I'm happy to know such quiet and unspoiled places still exist in the middle of a metropolitan area.
