The bottom of the bathtub. Gross.
    Robin S.

This entire hotel needs to be remodeled. Even the rooms that are newly remodeled, need to be remodeled again. The furniture is old and dated. It is all worn. The bathtub had been patched and looks disgusting. I only gave it a two star rating because the personnel are so awesome and the morning breakfast is ok. I would never stay here again. The two pics are of the bathtub.

Phone that was found between mattress and wall from previous guest along with pizza crust and some sort of sauce stain.

This hotel was horrid. Disgusting rooms. Unhelpful staff. Sleeping life guards. Just plain ridiculous. We checked in earlier in the day so our boys could swim and go down the slide, not one person mentioned the the slide didn't open until 5p and then the life guard was slow so it didn't open until 5:15. We had to spray fabreeze when we got there because the room smelled disgusting. One of the beds was broken. We found pizza crust between the mattress and the wall underneath the pillows, making me wonder if the sheets were even changed. I found a phone in the same place from a previous guest. This was all discovered the next morning after losing an earring in my sleep and trying to find it. The same morning when the life guard was sleeping on duty and hair was found folded up in a towel. All we got from the front desk was "Sorry." Will not ever stay here ever again.

Mitchell, SD Fire Department engine that responded to the gas leak that forced the evacuation of everyone in the hotel.

I most definitely have bed bug bites from staying in this hotel for one night. Disgusting!

Rooms were clean and well maintained, but nasty stinky hallways from the smoking rooms.

Siesta Motel - not sure about this one, but if you happen to forget how to tie a specific knot, then the Siesta bathroom has you covered.

We love it here, nice large rooms very neat and clean little davenports, lounging chairs etc. So nice! We have always been treated nice and they are very welcoming! OMG, this place is fantastic! I'm not one to use the exclamation mark, but this motel really…read moredeserves it. From Evangeline, the friendly front desk girl (who gave me great directions), to the huge rooms in this unique and quirky little motel, this place rocks. I actually had planned on staying at the Thunderbird Motel, another good choice when in Mitchell, but when they quoted me $70 for a single on a week night, I made a bee line to the Siesta (only $38 for the same thing). The outside of the motel reminds one of days gone by, with a little extra ornamental metal work, but once inside the rooms open up to the size of a decent apartment, including lounge area with sofa and chairs, two queen beds, a work desk, huge flat screen TV, mini fridge, microwave, a dressing area and a bathroom with a tub. Lots of wood paneling and a few fake plants give the place a homey feel that you don't usually get for $40 a night, anywhere. Are you listening Motel 6? The parking lot is big, not sure if they get truckers, but they got the room to park them if they show up. The Siesta is located just a short hop from Mitchell's biggest claim to fame, the Corn Palace. It's also right across the street from a decent grocery store, for you do it yourselfers. Oh and let's talk about the free wifi for a minute, it pumps out the internet at a very healthy 10 Mbps AND is password protected. So for those of you who need to get some work done, the Siesta's high speed interweb awaits you. Okay, they don't have breakfast, just coffee in the rooms, but come on, for the money you're saving here, go out and buy yourself an omelet at the breakfast spot across the street, or better yet, bring it back to the room and eat it on the giant sofa like you do at home.
