I've had a rough road on my braiding journey with my braids not being able to last more than 2 weeks at most due to scalp irritation with multiple stylist in the past. Coretha took her time during my consult to explain the possible causes and identifying her approach to get me back on track with getting the positive experience I desired. She provided a discount code for the banana fiber hair I wanted to try and had no issues with using this braiding hair. It was truly educational. During my appointment I was able to experience her wealth of knowledge, admiration for her work, and the caring nature she has for her clients. Not to mention the space was top notch! After my appointment, she walked me to my car to make sure that I made there safely. She also checked in with me via text to see how things were going with my scalp. I am so happy to say that I am now 3 weeks out from my appointment with a positive experience and did not need to take my braids out nor have I experienced my scalp burning, bleeding, or itching like my previous experiences. She also has so many snacks and drink options and allows kids to take as many breaks as needed. We never felt rushed and I really think kids pick up on that energy. The second time was insanely long and my hair got fried but I was planning to give a third time because I alway give places 3 tries. Well I just called (same day as my appointment) to reschedule because of personal reasons (they never asked and since it's personal I wasn't open to share unless asked) and they told me since it's within their cancellation window they will be charging me the full $185 amount for me to not get my hair done. This place wasn't even good let alone great in order to come back. Also, my hair was always well into the $300 and I do baby lights. I did toner once and $300+ for a level 1 is insane!! I will never be returning.
