Kristlyn is a rock star. When I moved to the area, I decided to give Pure Elegance a try. Kristlyn does a great job with finding just the right color for my auburn colored hair as well as highlights. Her precision in cutting my hair always brings me compliments for weeks to come. I'm not much for small talk so Kristlyn is a good fit for my introverted self. I received a wax here and it was not a great experience. The room was FILTHY. The cloths on the table were COVERED in hair, they use soft wax (for Brazilian) and it did not really remove any hair (just broke it off), and the two times the hard wax was used, she couldn't get it off. Also did not pluck any left over hairs, so it was just terrible and still had so much hair (which has never happened in the 2 years I've been getting waxed). I got a haircut here for my first time by a hairdresser and it was nice, the front I realized was crooked after I left. I'm not sure who cut my hair I was not greeted, but the salon is very pretty inside. read more

I've been on the hunt for a salon since I moved here in April and I'm so glad I found this one! I just left there from having Haley cut my hair and she did a fantastic job! She didn't do anything before asking me if I was okay with it, she cut it right where I wanted it, and she didn't try to keep awkward conversation going which I really appreciated. The salon itself is very clean and really nice to be in. It was nice and quiet and everyone was really polite but they didn't try to be that fake nice you can see behind. I was so nervous to get all of my hair cut off today that I was shaking! But she did an AMAZING job! (Im 99% sure my stylist was Krystlyn, but I'm bad with names so I hope I'm giving my stylist the proper credit! The one with the longer hair! Lol) I've had my hair long most of my life and always wondered what it would be like short. I'm SO glad I went here to get it done because she did so good! I'm so in love with my new look! I'll always come here from now on! She also cut my husband's hair in September for a wedding and he looked so handsome! This is the salon I go to pamper my hair. I only have Krystlyn do my hair. She is freaken awesome! Why is she awesome? I'll tell you why... This girl is not only sweet and nice, she knows how to do her profession and gets what her customers wants (me). I have had Krystlyn trimmed, cut, layered, styled, curled, dyed and highlight my hair and I am satisfied every time. Maybe one time, I didn't like how my hair looked a certain way when styled but Krystlyn quickly fixed it. I read some of negatives reviews and I don't understand how the salon is dirty and unorganized, it has always look great to me! Maybe there are hair on the floor but come on! it's a salon! Of course there are going to be hair on the floor. Krystlyn is my favorite hair stylist and she can be a little smart butt sometimes but she is genuine. Sometimes she would give me recommendation on my hair and I'm glad with her professional experiences that she's not afraid to tell me, "that wouldn't look good on your hair." I don't understand what her attire has to do with getting a haircut because I pay her to cut my hair and not look a certain way for me. Her attire seems fine to me, she has always been fully clothed. :) I only give Pure Elegance Salon a 4 star because I don't normally give out 5 because no one and nothing is perfect, plus, Krystlyn you suck because you have Monday's off! Incredibly frustrating. I spent over 200$ for a supercuts worthy cut and color. Krystlyn had very poor customer service skills. She did not greet me or acknowledge me when I came in. She did not engage or interact with me but only her staff. She left during the appointment to get lunch and ate while she let my hair "soak" in the bowl. She was aggressively rough with my hair and got her fake nails caught in it multiple times when she was styling it. All I asked was to have my dead ends trimmed and a simple all over color. My ends are still dry, and the hair color is the quality of a box dye. Do yourself a favor and save your money for someone professional. read more

Went in for a cut and color. At first I was told I'd have to wait, which I didn't mind because I was a walk in, but that if it was just an all over color (what I went in for) the other girl there could do it right then no problem. Once she finished I looked in the mirror and it looked fine, but when I got home and looked at it closer, I realized she did a horrible job on my color. You can still see splotches of my original color and on some parts the new color doesn't even touch my roots and I mean by inches. I usually don't trust many people with my hair and should've listened to my gut telling me not to this time. Won't be going back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know. Only giving 2 stars because I was actually satisfied with my cut, just not the color. read more

Great experience! The owner of this salon is awesome and so nice and amazing at platinum hair! I felt like I was getting my hair done by my friends just hanging out drinking wine and talking and laughing. She got a stubborn semi permanent purple hair dye out of my hair and got me to a beautiful icy platinum without ruining my hair. The products she used are so good my hair feels so soft and healthy unlike the times I've had my hair bleached before by others usually my scalp is on fire and gets bad blisters and dried scalp but not here , my scalp feels totally normal and my hair looks amazing! She also fixed a bad hair cut another salon did on me the day before. They're a little on the pricey side but I say they are well worth it. I'll definitely be recommending her to everyone. (I should add she did not cut my bangs the other salon did and they did not cut them right but I'll have to grow them some before they can be fixed) read more

I was here for a leadership conference and needed to get a haircut bad. My hair had been giving me headaches..being in the military my long hair spends most of its time in a braided bun. I went jogging and decided to stop in and Krystlyn was like I'll take you at 630. She was amazing and just cool to talk to. I called Krystlyn at 1:30. She said be here by 2 and I can take you- I cut hair fast. Skeptical, I walked in to the salon and sat down, telling her I was trying to grow my hair out and I just wanted some shape. It literally took her 20 minutes to cut my hair, shampoo it, and style it! I even got my eyebrows done (and trimmed) for a grand total time of 30 minutes!!!! I can't say enough great things about her and the salon. If you have short hair ask for her. She gets it! The price is good too. $40 for the cut and style and $10 for the brows. So, at $50 and 30 minutes I will absolutely be back when it's time for another cut. read more

I got the worst haircut of my life from Krystlyn. My first clue that things were not going to turn out well was, after looking at a picture of the haircut I wanted, she said that it was a razor cut and then proceeded to use scissors. The second was that she kept studying the picture. I initially thought that was a good thing until after when I began to believe that she was trying to figure out how to get a similar cut done. Krystlyn was brusque and seemed disinterested. When I tried to make small talk she answered in short sentences or one word. She seemed more interested in talking to the other stylist. The total time spent on my cut, including the shampoo, was 20 minutes. It seemed she couldn't be done fast enough. The salon was anything but "pure elegance." The shampoo chair still had hair from other patron in it...well, you get the idea. Did I mention that I got the worst haircut of my life?! read more

My 76 year old mother went to the salon for a basic hair cut, they gave her a clipper cut for 40.00, they did not even bother to shampoo her hair! she hates the cut and was very disappointed. She had an appointment and they did not get to her until more than 40 minutes past her appointment time. she will not be going back to them. way overpriced for the cut and lousy service. She tried to tell them what she wanted and the stylist dismissed her and said you will not look like a grandmother when we are done. They must think alot of themseves at this salon. read more

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Pure Elegance. Krystlyn gave me an absolutely gorgeous updo in 45 minutes flat. She has an eye for detail and made sure I left the salon feeling like a princess. She also managed to make me look like I had bangs even though I don't; so she's basically a hair magician :) She is also incredibly personable and funny! Definitely the worst place I've ever been to, lighting inside is terrible and the place just felt very cluster and dirty. Felt so uncomfortable the whole time. I've never been to a place where instead of talking to you and making you feel comfortable, they spend the whole time talking to their friend during your appointment. Whats even worst is they don't even spend time to consult you on how you want your hair to be cut. I'm pretty sure if i didn't tell her what i wanted to do she probably would have given me a basic haircut. Instead of getting 1- 2 inches taken off i lost a little over 4 inches. Definitely a waste of money. You're better off going to another place. Also if you have long hair I definitely wouldn't suggest you to go here cause your going to come out with short hair.
