We were staying with a relative in Jarrell and the kids wanted donuts. My wife went to this place. I was impressed with what she brought back. The best was the chocolate covered donuts. A lot of chocolate icing is sweet and has no bitterness. This stuff tastes like it was made with real cocoa. Best of all, they didn't skimp on it. There's plenty of icing on the donut. The blueberry cake (my wife's choice) were excellent. No glazing and just a touch of crispy on the outside. The maple bacon (my choice) was pretty good. Could've used larger, fresher pieces of bacon. The richness of the glaze kind of overpowered the maple flavor. I'd suggest they add chocolate covered donut holes to the menu. My suggestion, if you're a donut person, skip the big competitor whose name starts with an Ship- (who I'm a fan of also, btw) and come to Daylight Donuts. read more

First visit to this location at closing time. Drive thru order so no clue about inside. Building looks relatively new. Prefer cake donuts so had to get what was left and they were frosted but not overly sweet or chalky tasting. Also got a couple kolaches and an apple fritter. Kolaches were very tasty and apple fritter was more than just fried dough - actually had some apple. Would order them again. Window cashier was very friendly and service was good. Coffee was weak for my taste and could have been hotter. Will try it again! read more

This place almost killed me. A while back I got a "kolache" there. I think about it every time we drive by so it prompted this review. I ate two kolaches or whatever they are. Within an hour my stomach was in knots. I was sick for almost two weeks. My stomach felt like someone was stirring paint in there. I couldn't eat much. And everything went through me. I honestly was almost ready to go to the hospital. But alas I finally started to feel better. My husband had one bite and he was messed up for a week. Of course it could have been the horrible jelly filled donut I chased the kolaches with. But I guess it will be a mystery forever. We will never ever go back. I don't know what kind of crazy they are serving up but when we see a line in the drive thru we just shake our heads. I just ate here again today and the lady is so nice. It's obviously a language barrier for people who say the woman is rude bc she is not. She's very kind. I forgot my card and she helped me use Apple Pay. The food is always fresh and amazing. I honestly can't even enjoy other donuts and kolaches bc these are so good and fresh. I'm a little on the wire here.... The donuts were excellent, as was the breakfast burrito. But.... I went through the drive thru & ordered face to face with the employee. I ordered: 1 doz donut holes, 1 filled donut, 1 sausage & egg burrito, and a medium iced coffee black. I was handed the holes, filled donut, had to as for the burrito, and a cup of hot coffee. I can understand those kinds of errors with a drive thru speaker, but this was face to face. The donut business is competitive around here.... They need to step up the customer service effort. 4 stars for the donuts, -1 for the service. read more

I am so bummed. The donuts I received were not the light and fluffy that I use to get 2+years ago. The ones I got yesterday looked like and tasted like day old donuts. I use to travel to and from San Antonio to visit my folks a lot and would stop here to pick ip hot, fresh, and fluffy donuts. I asked if they changed their recipe I was told no but these are definitely no them. I had to be in a conference in Killeen and drove an additional 35 miles to be utterly disappointed. The donuts were delicious - no complaints! We got mixed donuts, kolaches and donut holes and they were great. The customer service is not great. I went through the drive thru once and they forgot one of the donuts I ordered. No big deal, it happens. Today was a terrible experience and was the "I'm not going back moment". I ordered and paid, thinking it was very expensive for what I ordered. I ordered a dozen mixed donuts, 4 kolaches & a bag of donut holes. It came out to $40! I called when I got home and confirmed my order should have been around $20. They asked me to come back in so I did. I let the cashier know what I ordered and explained I was overcharged. She went to the back to get someone else. The girl who came up from the back stared at me for a few seconds, then asked me what I ordered. I explained again what I ordered. She rang it up and turned to the cashier asking her "why did you charge her so much?" The cashier responded that she didn't remember charging me that much unless something else had already been in the register. I said "there was a gentleman before me who ordered, maybe something happened". And the girl goes "there's no need for an attitude." I've worked in food service and retail. I NEVER get pissy with people because I know that job is difficult. I had zero attitude with them - I could have easily given some rude since I was charged double and had to go back into the the store to resolve the issue. But I was patiently working with them to resolve it. I asked the girl "are you saying that to me?" And she didn't respond. So I asked her again "are you telling me that I have an attitude?" She said yes. I told her that I was explaining that there was a man at the register before me and that could have caused a mixup and I'm no way did I have an attitude. But I sure did now. Completely unprofessional and won't be wasting my time with them anymore. read more

I've been getting donuts from here regularly this past week with my daughter in the mornings. The donuts are excellent and the cashiers are always very friendly. They even gave me a complimentary glazed donut with my dozen this weekend. I'll continue getting all my donuts from this shop. read more

Excellent taste, variety and value. We had sausage and cheese kolaches with an assortment of donuts. My wife is half Czech and once worked in a kolache shop. She loved the slight doughiness of the kolache and keep repeating "these are sooooo good!" Super nice people at 7am. read more

Decided to give this place a try after being disappointed by what was closest to me and it was the best donut decision I've made! They have a convenient drive thru, but I went inside to scope out the choices. Inside is clean and tidy. They have a large selection and I didn't feel like I was scraping the bottom of the barrel and getting their leftovers like you do at some places. Donuts were fresh, flavorful, and fluffy! Kolaches were also delicious. Do yourself a favor and get a jalapeño popper kolache, better yet, grab two; you won't regret it. Customer service was fantastic. I will definitely be back! read more
