These are great doughnuts. Got an assortment of and they tasted good. Staff was ok not that great or helpful but friendly.

They won't issue a refund. "Sao" 512-586-8608. the manager will not call me to discuss issuing a refund...Despite everyone continuing to tell me he will call me back. I've submitted a BBB complaint for a refund.. from a donut shop. Not only is it 5 days with no contact about any of this, but it also caused me to find something else to bring to work. Donuts were just okay. They didn't have much to choose from, it was only open for a few hours and I arrived 15 minutes after opening. It's a small place, looked family owned, and clean. I wish I could pinpoint what I didn't like. I felt they had no flavor and most tasted the same. The ones I didn't get did look like they would have been good. They may have been close to Dunkin Donuts glazed donuts to me. I don't like them either. My family, however love them and recommended them to me. Stopped in to pick up some donuts before visiting family. Donuts were very good and they also have kolaches on the menu. Had the sausage egg and cheese one. Was good not sure I am a fan of these. Sugar coated donuts were good, children loved the sprinkle ones so it was a complete hit with them. Only one server in house so she was running back and forth to the drive thru helping customers. While visiting from Maryland and at the advice of my goddaughter, I stopped in here to experience this chain's donuts. The place seemed clean the lady behind the counter was polite. Being a first time customer, I procrastinated while reading all of the options, I thought she'd jump in and ask either what I typically like OR if it was my first time and attempt to help me out with a run down of offerings, neither happened. I went with a six pack and choose what I could see only to realize after they were packed that the "cake" style donuts I saw online were directly in the casing under the front counter, I did ask for one of these just to try. I wanted the donuts to be superior to the factory churned donuts made at Dunkin but they actually were not. I will eat donuts from DD but I know exactly what to expect and I expected more from here. The flavors were okay., regular glazed, white iced w/coconut, chocolate w/ walnuts, glazed buttermilk cake and I forget the others. The donuts were decent but they did not WOW me. I would equate the donut quality to the same as DD. I did not feel like they were freshly baked on site but they got eaten. I love the outside esthetic though, it's inviting. read more

2nd time I've tried about 3 months apart. I order and paid for two Sausage egg and cheese kolache at a whopping 4'79 each and all I got was two basically bread with just a little sausage link in the. Kolache my @55, I'm check and this wasn't close, but you would think they could get an order right. Both times I was robbed. I will NEVER do business with them again! read more

1 star because I can't give it 0 stars. I ordered 1/2 dozen of jalapeño kolaches spent $16 on it for it to be mostly bread and jalapeños (there were more jalapeños than actual meat, the bread tastes like dirt, the cheese tastes old. read more

I visited for the first time (recently) -- coming from the Mall, and it is pretty dangerous to get to from there, but it is possible, so be careful. It will be worth it. On the corner of WS Young and I-14, this stand-alone Shipley's has very great tasting donuts. I got there during evening rush hour and picked up treats to share, the apple cruller and the cinnamon roll (see photos). Although I took a chance, the donuts were still fresh tasting and delicious and moist. They also have a drive through, and the facility was very clean that day. The prices were competitive, and you can also leave a tip by the register. The lady who worked there was very helpful to understand what was what. She was so sweet and hoped that I would visit again. The donuts are only good if they are fresh out of the oven. I indulged in a glazed donut that just came out of the oven and it was delicious. Then I dried a maple glazed donut that wasn't warm at all and was immediately disappointed. Freshly made donuts that are piping hot is the only way to go. Favors: They have a wide variety of favors (chocolate, maple coconut, nuts, sprinkled), cake donuts, long john, kolache and coffee drinks. Location: This location has been struggling with keeping a tenant. But I think Shipley's well known name will keep this location going. Price: Cheap! $0.70 a donut. The staff is very friendly and the items I have ordered have always been warm and fresh. They send out coupons in the mail frequently so be on the lookout for those. I have ordered kolaches, coffee/hot drinks, dough nut holes, and regular dough nuts. No complaints from me. You should know that Shirley's serves traditional yeast dough nuts they're nothing trendy or fancy like you'd find a Dunkin Donuts etc. But that's why we love them! read more

This is my fourth visit. They have all gone the same. I went in again this morning at 0813 to the WS Young location in Killeen, Texas. Again, I ordered six glazed. Again, I received a box with cold donuts. I asked the girl inside if they had any hot donuts and was told that it was too slow to have hot donuts. Maybe it wouldn't be so slow if they didn't serve cold, hard, disgusting donuts at 0813 in the morning. I'm now at a dealership, getting my oil changed and I struck up a conversation with a lady next to me. She's from Michigan and had never heard of Shipley until she moved here. She said she had tried Shipley and she had only had a cold donut. I told her about how Shipley should be and she and I laughed because if a franchisee can't get the one thing you are named for correct, that doesn't really indicate that they have any concern about holding up your name our standards when it comes to anything else. This, to me, is a sadness. It means that an entire market is missing out on a beautiful thing. I truly hope this can be resolved because I really shouldn't have to drive to Austin for a fresh Shipley donut. read more

The donuts were not as fresh compared to other donut places I've previously purchased from, even though I purchased them in the morning at 8:30am. The drive through was rather quick, but service was rude from some middle aged looking lady that seemed disturbed that she was working there. No greeting, just a scowl on her face and hardly talked. Nice clean place. Didn't know what a kolache was but I tried it and it's pretty good. It's a light dough that has either sausage, egg,ham,cheese inside. A perfect snake if you are on the go. I also had a glazed doughnuts, was nice and fluffy glaze was not to sweet. read more

I wouldn't recommend coming to this location. The experience of it all was completely horrible. The staff was horrible and rude. The kolaches tasted awful and somewhat stale. The donuts were alright but I found pieces of hair in the donuts. Lastly the worst part about it is I saw a giant cockroach and a couple of small cockroaches run past me while I was ordering. That is just really discussing and unsanitary. Would you eat their food knowing that roaches might of contaminated your food and you could possibly get sick. Shipley has a great assortment of flavors and quite good tasting when they are fresh. I had stopped by to get some donuts and use a nice coupon for a free dozen glazed donuts when I bought one at regular price. I first asked for the dozen and asked for filled in an assortment. The young lady seemed a little nervous and when filling my order just muttered something about a chocolate glazed when she pulled the assortment. I then showed my coupon and she immediately left the front area and went to the back out of sight. After a few long seconds she showed back up holding what seemed to be a dozen glazed donuts. She had taped the boxes shut. When I arrived back at home I opened the boxes and found the filled donuts plus one chocolate glazed in one box and only 11 in the other box which should have contained 12 donuts.
