I was passing through Killeen and wanted to treat myself to a half dozen donuts. I found this shop on Yelp and decided to give it a try. When you walk in the sweet donut smell hits you immediately. I wish I could make it into a candle. I ordered The following: apple fritter, blueberry cake donut, regular glazed, chocolate glazed, raspberry filled and lemon filled. The customer service was amazing. The donuts were so delicious! The apple fritter was phenomenal. Went on. Saturday morning around 730am, they didn't have a huge selection. They also don't have super fancy, different crazy flavors like some of the newer donut shops. What you get is some delicious traditional style donuts. Think glazed, sprinkles, longjohns, filled. They are definitely much fresher than Shipleys donuts. I like the glaze they put on it had somewhat of a coconut flavor. Jack n Jill is kind of off the beaten path so you do probably have to go out of the way to get here. This place has delicious donuts and amazing kolaches. I love kolaches and they can be bland, but I love the bread that they make for these kolaches. Mmmm. I got the sausage kolache and the maple donut and my hubby got the chocolate donut. He devoured his 2 donuts, but was saying that he should have gotten 4 because they were so good. Well a few months ago, I moved to Florida, where kolaches are obsolete- so now that I'm visiting for the week I couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit my favorite place to grab a kolache and a coffee to-go. I love their ham, cheese and jalapeño, and turkey and cheese croissants (the filling is baked inside the croissant!). Their kolaches are amazing as well; especially because the bread they use for them is so soft! My favorite donuts would have to be the cake/old fashioned donuts. Tried this place out based off Yelp reviews. They are really good. Tried the apple fritters as they seemed to be a yelp users favorite & was not disappointed. They are very light for an apple fritter & the apple is nice and dominant in each bite. Loved the Spider man donuts & the fruit loop topped donuts. Cereal topped donuts are very popular on the East Coast. Nice to see them in TX. Would love to see some peanut butter glazed donuts with captain crunch on top & some chocolate glazed with cocoa pebbles. Also marshmallow glazed with lucky charms. The chocolate glazed donuts are great too. They had good reviews on here & the reviews are right. So good. Would love to see some white chocolate glazed too. I am not a fan of Shipleys like everyone else here seems to be. We were spoiled with amazing donuts in KS called Varsity Donuts. So the places here that are less like Shipleys, the more likely we are to visit. Hope to see more donut creations from Jack & Jill that set them apart from all the other donut shops here which all seem to be the same just different owners at each location. The owner was very nice. He said if we want hot donuts to call a few hours before we come in & he'll have hot ones ready! Also the kolaches are great!
