Found my new happy place. The environment is relaxing, all the staff I've encountered there are friendly and the massages I've had are some of the best. One of the things I love is the massage bed is soft and comfortable. Normally I find them to be hard and uncomfortable, but not here. After months of deliberating whether to go or not, I finally decided to give Day Dream Therapy the honor of giving me my first massage. :) I called in, and a guy picked up. I scheduled for a 75 minute massage on a Saturday and asked the receptionist if I had to pay beforehand or on the day of the massage. He said I could pay on the day of. A few days before my massage, I got a phone call- explaining to me that I needed to pay at least a day BEFORE the massage. This gave me a bad feeling- did they not know their own policies??? When I came in to pay, the receptionist (a female, this time) told me that Lupe was going to be the only one in the office on the day of my appointment (I'm a little uncomfortable with having a male on location). This was also false. Fortunately, this was the only bad/unsettling thing. When I arrived (a little cautious because there was a male as a receptionist), Lupe greeted me warmly. She led me into one of the rooms and asked me some general questions so that she could help me with any issues I had. When she found out that it was my first time, she led me into another room, to give me the opportunity of trying out hot stones!!! :D Lupe did not disappoint!!! It felt sooo good, and the whole time, she was making sure that I was comfortable. We also chatted a bit, throughout the session. She also gave me some health tips, which I totally appreciate. It was fun; she kept it from getting too awkward. :) She also wiped off the hot oil so that it wouldn't get on my clothes. Next time I head over, I'm going to ask her to work on some key points. I get all the 5 star ratings - this place is amazing! I got an hour-long prenatal massage, and Ralph was my therapist. Not only did he work out all the tension in my shoulders, back, and hips, but he also explained to me potential sources of my tension and gave me exercises/DIY massage tips to help keep it at bay. I've been trying them since, and so far, so good! My hip tightness has been nagging on me forever, and I realized just now that I've been approaching it from the wrong angle (I needed to do more quad/hamstring releases, not hip ones) and this is the first morning I woke up without soreness! He also gave me tips on pillow placement for sleeping with this big belly, and that has also helped me find some relief. I wish I went in sooner than 35 weeks! The other thing that was amazing to me was that he didn't really work me that hard (of course, he doesn't want to apply too much pressure to a pregnant woman's body), but he released all my tension just the same. I've had two pregnancy massages here in the last couple months and they were both fantastic! My first was with Lupe and today with Jen. They take great care with checking in about aches and pains associated with pregnancy and focus on what you specifically need. Jen used cupping with mine which I've never had done before and I liked it. They both did a great job afterwards telling me where my problem areas were and what stretches and exercises I can do to alleviate the muscle tension. I love how detailed they are in not just helping with massage but giving you feedback on how to help the issues. I will definitely be back here. This review is WAY overdue... In my opinion, treating myself to a session of massage therapy is more valuable than anything I could buy for the same price. Show tickets, an expensive meal, a new pair of shoes...they just don't compare to to the blissful feeling I come away with after spending an hour at Day Dream Therapy. If I could give Lupe 6 stars, I would. She has mastered the art of making her clients feel relaxed, comfortable, valued, and listened to. A friend gave me a gift certificate for the holidays two years ago and I went in as soon as I could get an appointment. Lupe gave me a personal assessment and came up with a plan of attack for my knotty shoulder muscles and stiff neck. It's clear that Lupe has taken her education in this practice and turned it into an art, something she is able to completely customize to the individual. She encourages feedback and will masterfully incorporate it into your session. She blends a combination of techniques to make your session as gentle or as intense as you like. She has a few moves I've never seen before - one in particular that stretches my quadriceps and hip flexors deeper than I possibly could on my own. Most importantly to me, she has a very peaceful and benevolent energy that works in conjunction with her talent to create a truly wonderful experience from beginning to end. Best. Massage. Ever! I went in for my first massage at Day Dream with Lupe yesterday. She was so awesome! In fact, the entire experience was! From the "intake chat" to the essential oils to the face massage (get this) WITH the sheet protecting my face - I was in awe the entire time. I had some trouble making an appointment at first because the website kept being down, but Lupe is fairly responsive via Yelp. Finally got ahold of Peter to book a prenatal massage and so glad I squeezed it in just right before I am due. I wish I was able to book a few weeks back so I could go once a week. Despite everything, Lupe and Peter are very professional and nice, and Peter extended his Saturday hours to squeeze me in at the last minute. The place is definitely very relaxing, and the quality of the massage was amazing. Peter definitely listens to the areas you want to focus on. Lupe is a miracle worker! I'd heard great things for months from a friend and finally went in when my back hurt so bad I could barely remain seated (at my desk at work) for more than 20 minutes. I scheduled a 60-minute health massage with Emily. I received a confirming email with information to prepare me for my appointment, including notification about closed roads in the area. The massage itself was great! Emily checked to make sure the level of pressure she was applying was comfortable for me. She worked on areas where I hold a lot of tension - neck and shoulders - and included an invigorating scalp massage. I walked out at the end of my massage refreshed and relaxed. 3 words: FANTASTIC customer service. The website may be a bit fidgety, but when I called and left a voicemail (understandable, they're busy with clients) about a possible last-minute appointment, I was thinking I wouldn't be fitting in my first ever professional massage today, which also happens to be my birthday. I already tried going to Massage Envy's site for an appointment, but alas, nothing came up... no matter what day I tried, oddly enough. So I gave up and didn't bother calling the place either. Then I thought about Burke Williams, but was still hesitant, especially after reading some reviews and seeing their prices. Maybe I will try them another time, but today, I just preferred convenience... walking distance and 5-star reviews. Aside from it being my birthday, I've also been sick since last week and still recovering from it. The plans I had this weekend have been canceled due to said sickness, so I just wanted SOMETHING relaxing to do... but something worth it. And that's when Day Dream Therapy came in. After seeing them as the first choice on here when searching "massage therapy" in SJ, I decided to check out their website and make an appointment but sadly, it wasn't working for me. So fast forward to a couple hours later after leaving a hopeful voicemail (thinking it might be too late for a massage there), I explained my situation and that it's my birthday. Luckily, Jennifer, one of the masseuses, called me back just as I was losing all hope for a much-needed birthday massage. She was so accommodating and understanding on the phone as I reiterated my dilemma and told me to just come in by 4 and surely her co-masseuse, Peter, would be able to take me in and for longer than the allotted time. Also, since I live literally 10 minutes away WALKING distance, it truly was a treat. Once I arrived, I was greeted by a warm, "Helloooo :) Are you the birthday girl? I'm Jennifer, the one you spoke to on the phone." Immediately I smelled the air and couldn't be happier by its soothing aroma as well as the welcome. Peter was behind the front desk getting ready for me. Then I went to go sit down in their waiting area while Jennifer got me a cup of spa water. Yum! But of course, the best part was Peter's expert touches, strokes and kneads into my upper back, neck, head and temples... I felt pain, but in a good way, because, well... they were TENSE and KNOTTED. OMG. I told him I wasn't kidding when I needed those areas to be focused on and even HE was taken aback by the tension I had accumulated for years. But holy COW, it was AMAZING. However, one thing I wanted to repeat here is that I'm an idiot and apologize again for not undressing and re-dressing when I was supposed to. As a first-timer here, I had to be told that I was supposed to be undressed and re-dressed when he had left and closed the door behind him. LOL! Otherwise, Peter, THANK YOU for taking me in last-minute, for more than the time given and for the other birthday treat!! I truly appreciate your utmost professionalism in dealing with a first-timer. I will definitely be back for more with Day Dream Therapy and even try out the other services as well as Jennifer, Lupe and Emily to get a feel for their massages. Hello Response to your even more unprofessional message without checking facts. Those were not maternity pillows. It was told to me that all the maternity pillows were in use by others. What I was given was - a trapezoid green shaped hard thing to keep under my legs, and cushions from the couch wrapped in some blanket. The setup of putting my tummy in something was not acceptable to me, and it is your responsibility to make sure there are maternity pillows available. This is not the first time for a maternity massage for me and you neednt teach me what they look like. I had a prenatal massage with Lupe last weekend and it was amazing! I was 35 weeks and have been feeling very achy this pregnancy, so being able to have a massage in their special pregnancy cushion felt like a dream! Lupe was able to massage my full back, especially my lower back, and it felt great to have a pregnancy massage that wasn't side lying. She hit all the right spots and I even got to that zone where I was so relaxed I was practically falling asleep, which has been rare for me when getting massages, let alone a pregnancy one! After the massage Lupe gave me some really great tips on how to take care of my tense areas and showed me a few helpful moves to reach the hard places. Great massage service, bad personal/ customer service. The owner made an unprofessional move when offering to hook my mom up with her brother-in-law during a session. She advised my mom to "google him" then didn't tell the guy that she referred my mom to him, so when my mom called, he was annoyed and she was embarrassed to say the least. It left my mom feeling as if the owner was being un-genuine or dishonest during their session. I was a huge fan of the place and even began referring friends and colleagues, but not after that last move she pulled on my mom. Too bad, there are some great therapists there (Cynthia). Our masseuses were attentive and responded well to our comfort levels with the pressures. As with many other reviewers, I decided to give Lupe a try during my time off from work as a teacher. Everything the prior reviewers stated are all true! During the visit, I was especially impressed and put at ease with her genuine concern in providing the best care for the time allotted. It was validating to hear her concern over certain areas of the back/shoulder/neck and how best to work on addressing those stressed areas. Without realizing it initially, I also noticed that she ran a little over the allotted time and gave me the great impression that sincerely wanted to make sure that I left feeling much better. Amazing! Lupe is one of the very few sweet, genuine people to actually be concerned about your health rather than scraping as much money away from you. I was the client, not the one to get a massage, it was a special Christmas gift I gave to my girlfriend. I signed up online and made myself an appointment which was really quick and simple. Few hours later, Lupe responds personally to my appointment with a confirmation. I put a comment saying this was for my girl, and she even wanted to know if I would like her to decorate the room for the special occasion, free of charge. Very considerate and off to a great start and impression of Day Dream. I initially set an appointment for friday 11:50am for a 35minute massage, but I completely forgot my gf doesn't get out of school till 2:15pm. By then it was 5 days before the appointment and crossed my finger hoping they'd be lenient with rescheduling. Lupe, once again outstanding person and quick to respond, easily changed the appointment to 2:50, not a problem to her at all. The day (today) finally came to take my gf to her appointment, 2400 Moorpark big AAIC building is all I remembered in my head. Unfortunately...traffic is terrible between Stevens creek, 280, winchester, and moorpark. So we were running late (5-10minutes). The building was easy to spot and the parking lot is huge, great to just zoom into a space. Ran inside and quickly found Day Dream Therapy. Inside Lupe was already waiting at her desk, greeting both of us with a really friendly smile. The atmosphere was calm, cute, and relaxing. She was not upset at all for us being late. She introduced herself and the place, showing us around. As she showed us the room where she would be giving my gf a massage, she put a big twist on helping me make the massage even more special by saying "I" bought her a little gift (a gift wrapped bunt cake that Lupe brought out for her with no extra charge). Haha, thanks Lupe! She consulted with my gf and gave her every privacy she needed. Treated my gf and I extremely well even when we're young kids. Most places treat the younger 18-20 y.o.'s terribly, but not with Lupe & Day Dream! She performed a full 35 minute massage even when we were late. And since my gf is a student I only needed to pay $40 (normally $60) for the session. I gave Lupe $50 because she gave my gf an amazing massage which made her extremely happy. Before we left she explained a few stretches for my gf. Even showed me and explained to me a few massage techniques I could give to my gf. Went in for mommy massage with Chontelle. I am 32 weeks pregnant and have been suffering with terrible pain in my right lower rib and back, my Ob recommended prenatal massage for some relief. Chontelle was very patient and listened when I described my problem area. She made it very clear that it was my session and being comfortable is important. Chontelle is amazing at her work. I had such a great experience at Day Dream Therapy. I arrived for my appointment about 10 minutes early, and was greeted by Lupe right as I walked in. She led me into my room and began to explain what I could expect from a Mommy Massage. This was my first prenatal massage, and it definitely won't be my last. The maternity pillow they had me lay on felt like a little slice of heaven. It felt so nice to be able to lay on my stomach, as I haven't been able to for quite a few weeks now (It's the little things...). The cut out for my belly was very comfortable with the cushion in, and it will accommodate me later on in my pregnancy by taking the cushion out. My massage lasted for 40 minutes, and it was the perfect amount of time. It was very relaxing and Lupe asked how I was feeling throughout the massage. When I left, Lupe was so kind and talked to me about my pregnancy, giving me names of some "mommy groups" I can join after baby. I must preface this review by stating that prior to last month I had never gotten a "professional" (ie one you pay for) massage so if that's you then perhaps my words will be more applicable than someone who is well versed in the art of massage. Naturally I researched many places before I decided where to go (I also didn't mind erring on the higher priced spectrum since I am a firm believer that you will generally get what you pay for). I found Day Dreams on yelp and the reviews looked amazing so I asked for a gift cert for Christmas and scheduled my first appt about a month ago. From the reviews I knew that I wanted to go with Lupe since she was repeatedly mentioned as the best (and now I know she is also the owner, can't go wrong there). The one slight downside to DD is that since Lupe is such a desired therapist and has such a loyal clientele you must book her time about 2-3 weeks in advance (again, good things come to those who are patient, right?). Upon arriving at my appt Lupe was very friendly and courteous. She started by listening to the issues I had with my back and then asked what I would like to get out of my massage. She targeted the areas that she would be focusing on based on my explanation and showed me into one of the massage rooms. She closed the door and allowed me to take off my shirt and get under the sheets on the heated massage table. Her massage was very relaxing (she also plays soothing music in the background) and she obviously knew what she was doing. She allows you to dictate the amount of pressure which was awesome since I wasn't looking to get some intensely painful deep tissue massage (which she could likely do but didn't in my case). I felt much better after my massage (ended with "guided stretching" and a hot towel to wipe off the oil). It lasted almost 50 mins but because her assistant had booked and quoted me for a half session she only debited my gift cert for the cost of the half. After my session she printed out some massage techniques for me that I could use at home to reduce tension between sessions as well as a list of "good" and "bad" foods to reduce muscle inflamation. She also gave me a type of latex band to hold my shoulders back for better posture at my desk job. Just to validate my review I decided to wait until after my second visit (today) to write one and this time I did a 40 min chair massage which was just as relaxing and beneficial. If you live in the south bay, or anywhere in the bay area I would highly recommend going to Day Dreams for a very well priced and professional massage by someone that can customize your massage to address your personal needs. read more
