I'm a pretty a dense guy and enjoyable massages don't come easily to me. I've gone here twice, at the suggestion of my pregnant wife, and each visit has delivered beyond expectation. I get a deep tissue massage usually concentrating on my back an shoulders because of work and tension. My latest massage was done by Veronica to ease the strain of a recent car accident. I left limber and relaxed. My wife surprised look when she saw me was priceless! "I've never seen your face soo relaxed!" Now you know that's a good massage. For guys, it's a spa quality massage, without the unnecessary spa part! For women, Veronica has done wonders for my pregnant wife. Day Dream Therapy is not your typical spa and they don't try to be. The staff (Lupe and Cynthia) is very knowledgeable in massage therapy and they take the time to listen to what you hope to gain out of each session. This was my first time going to them after hearing praises from my finance. After doing some research on their website, I decided to go with the family plan package. This was a great package versus their typical single sessions. I figured if I didn't like the massage my finance could use the rest. The office was a little hard to find since it's an office in a shared building and there's no sign of Day Dream Therapy on the outside of the building. I met with Cynthia, she took the time to interview me seeing what I was looking for, and the type of massage I needed. She really listened and applied her techniques during the session. I've had other massages before but usually leave feeling like how I came in. After Cynthia was done, I felt a lot less tense and overall looser. She used a lot of pressure, telling me when to breath to help with the massage process and checked up with me if the pressure she was applying may be too much. Afterwards she provides some great techniques using those stretch bands, such as how to tie it to my shoulders to pull my shoulders back while I'm at work and some band stretching techniques. She even talked about using those long round foams to stretch out the T muscles in my legs. Lupe provided me with additional tips to loosen the muscle tension in my legs and gave me a sheet with photos of the leg muscles I should be working on. Other pluses about Day Dream Therapy are, they use organic lotions that are scented or non-scented. I prefer lotions to oils, as my skin is very sensitive and break out easily. They even let you bring your own lotions or oils if needed. They create a relaxing atmosphere offering tea or water prior to the massage and background music was relaxing. The best part is that they use all techniques when necessary, such as hot stones, heating pads, cooling pads to numb the muscles when extra tension is required, steaming towels. Some massage places have packages for hot stone massages; here they use it when it's called for and not as a fad. Their web appointment system is easy to use. It's easy to see who's available during what time and they make it easy to pay everything online. The family plan package is automatically tracked and deducted when sessions are used. I have recently started stretch exercises and my muscles were sore, and I was generally feeling tired - their massage was quite relaxing! I've had non pregnancy massages before so i knew the drill but Chontelle made me feel incredibly comfortable making sure i didn't have to take off what i didn't want to and if i wasn't comfortable with a certain position there was no problem with switching things up. This was probably one of the best massage experiences I have ever had. I can see why my mentor raved about this place and Peter. Peter was very nice and welcoming. Finally decided I was long overdue for a massage, so I booked an hour at Day Dream Therapy. Chontelle was my masseuse and this was my text to my mother afterwards, "I just had the best massage of my life!" Yes. It was that good. Chontelle helped me work through some terrible stress and knots in my shoulders all the while talking me through the process and making sure I was distracted so I could breathe through the knots getting worked out. I learned so much about my body, where I hold my stress in different areas, and tips for when I am at work to better alleviate the strain I put on my body. I really enjoyed having a professional masseuse who truly cares about the whole being of who you are and doesn't treat you like just one more client that day. I cannot recommend her, Chontelle, enough!! I will be back soon!! One of the highlights for me was that I was never made to feel fat. I had an appointment today with Lupe for a 60 minute prenatal massage. Unfortunately, she called me about 2 hours before my appointment to say that she had an emergency and she will have her fellow masseuse Chontelle take care of me, which was totally fine with me. I just picked whoever was available on the online scheduling system (which I totally love! So convenient & easy to use). I arrived 20 minutes early to my session because I had a friend drop me off and once I got there, Ralph opened the door for me before I even got to it! He was very nice and polite, introduced himself, showed me the bathroom and offered me some water. He said that Chontelle was just coming back from lunch. My massage session was absolutely wonderful. Chontelle was very attentive to the places that were aching and she gave me great advice about prenatal and postnatal care. She always asked to make sure that the pressure she was using was okay when she moved on to another area, which was nice. Their pregnancy pillow is a wonder and felt so great to lay with my face down without worrying about squishing the little one! They even only allow 20 minutes to be in that position so as to not stress the body out. Overall a great experience! I didn't tip Chontelle as much as I wanted to because I didn't have change but I will definitely be coming back before I'm due and will compensate then! I have been going to Lupe for about 10 years now, I started when I lived in the area and now, almost 10 years later I still drive there from my home in Pinole to see Lupe. She is fantastic at what she does and takes the time to really listen to my wants and needs when it comes to my massage. I was in a very bad car accident years ago, cortisone and lidocaine shots don't help but Lupes' massages do!! I had Chontelle - she is not only a great masseuse, but is knowledgeable on related subjects (helpful stretches, etc), and is a very sweet person. I enjoyed talking to her. In addition to massage, I have also used the infrared sauna - best price I have found in the area for this service. I guess it is still not a very common thing, but I love love love them. Traditional steam saunas make me feel like I cannot breathe and will faint. Infrared is a dry heat and feels amazing. Almost as good as a massage, for less time and less cost. The business is located in a converted house. It is very well done, clean, pretty, and comfortable. Plenty of available parking in a small lot in the back, as well as on Park street out front. Wow! What can I say?! I wished I could have stayed longer. Getting to Day Dream was easy. It's located on the first floor in a big building marked with the address '2400' on Moorpark. There's no way you can miss it. Parking is easy as there is a big lot next to the building. As soon as I arrived, Lupe greeted me with a warm smile and asked how I was doing. From there, she spent some time in getting to know me and why I was coming in to see her. Once I told her what was bothering me and what parts of my body I'd like her to work on, she immediately brought me to the room, gave me time to get ready and started what she does best. The setting was modest and calm. I really felt relaxed and she applied perfect pressure (I tend to like the pressure a bit hard) and used great technique. The stretching is good too! I've had plenty of massages from different therapists and there's only a few I've been to that incorporate stretching into the session. Every now and then she would check on me to see how the pressure was and how I was feeling. After the massage, she spent more time explaining what she did to alleviate some of the tightness I've had and what I can to at home that would help. She really gives you a massage throughout the whole time you're scheduled for. There's not too many therapists that I've been to that do that. Usually, they'll stop 5-10 minutes before the session is over so you can get dressed and drink water. Not the case with Lupe. Other things I liked: - You can schedule an appointment online. It's quick and easy. - You get a reminder via email days before the appointment and also a call the day of. - Office is modest and private. Nothing too fancy or extreme. It made things feel a bit more personal and that helps in being more relaxed. At the end... you'll realize you've spent your money well. read more

I have been to many massage places, and this was the only massage place I truly fell in love. I had two massages with Lupe, and one with Diana. Lupe was amazing. She has a wonderful personality that would make you feel at ease and heard as soon as you meet her. She has a strong human anatomy background. When her knowledge is combined with her many various massage techniques, she is able to find all the tight spots in my body and unkink all of those pesty little knots. Although Lupe's price was steep, she was the only massage therapist that I truly enjoyed and will keep coming back. I was so relaxed that I fell asleep on the table for a good amount of the massage. I have had a lot of massages from a lot of different therapists, and there are a few Super Stars that stand out, and Chontelle at Day Dream Therapy is one of them. I almost never have back pain of any kind, but days before a business trip I hurt my lower back and was significantly compromised in my range of motion: couldn't put on socks, couldn't bend over, it even hurt shifting my weight while standing. But I had to travel anyway. So I looked up massage therapists near San Jose, and luckily I found Day Dream, and luckily Chontelle was available. Not only was it an extremely good massage (read: she didn't feel the need to beat me up!), but also it actually helped. The real proof of efficacy of any treatment, even massage, is: did it help. And afterwards I could stand and put my socks on! I felt like I was at a healing revival and just dropped my crutches and ran around the tent! I was so far from that just moments before the massage. She was a total professional, and checked in with me all along the way on to make sure I was comfortable with the pressure and didn't get further injured. And it didn't end there, I got oil recommendations and "homework" for stretches. The therapist took a very keen interest in my post massage recovery. They even have good facilities for hot or dry sauna (I did 20 minutes of dry sauna before my massage - helped so much!) I will always come back to Day Dream Therapy when I'm in town. Boyfriend got massaged by Lupe and I by Cynthia for the couples massage for $220 (75min each). Boyfriend was very pleased and very relaxed after having seen Lupe. Cynthia did a great job on me as well using the Swedish technique. He and I were both on the verge of falling asleep near the end because it was so peaceful and relaxing. They did a wonderful job to work out our tension seeing as how both he and I sit at a computer almost all day long for work and school. The pressure was just right to get all the kinks out of my neck and shoulders and relax the rest of me. Their pregnancy pillow allowed me to lie comfortably face down on the massage table. The best massage experiences I have ever had. I've been to Day Dream Therapy 4 times now and seen Chontelle on all occasions. I have chronic tightness and pain in my neck and shoulders and every time I see Chontelle, I walk out feeling relaxed and with my shoulders and neck looser and a hundred times less pained. She begins the massage by asking where I'm having issues to make sure she's focusing on the areas of greatest need and constantly checks in over the course of my massages to ensure the pressure is right. At the end she offers suggestions to alleviate some of the pain and tightness outside of massage-time (like when at work/home). This is second visit with Day Dream. The basics. A really well kept and cozy place with ample parking in back. The massage rooms are very accommodating and relaxing. Now about my massage therapist Chontelle. This lady can do NO wrong! To be honest, she used to work on me almost every week for over a year until she set up shop here at Day Dream. Chontelle has a gift!!! She has this uncanny ability to assess problem spots on you without being told beforehand. She's surprised me the first time she did it to me. I had an early morning appointment with her. I worked the night shift so I came in straight from work. Had a problem all night long with my right leg. A numb irritating pain down my right thigh forced me to sit uncomfortably my whole shift. When I saw Chontelle she started with her usual therapy. The moment she put her hands on the back of my right thigh she immediately asked "What is going on back here!?!?" The next hour was pretty intense and I most definitely had to use deep breathing to help mitigate the deep tissue massage she administered. However, I walked out and the issue with my right thigh was gone. If you are in need of a deep tissue therapeutic you CANNOT, repeat, CANNOT pass up seeing Chontelle.
