Danny Carter I have been going to Wild Orchid for several…read morecuts by Ashley since she was at the Westlake location. I enjoyed the friendly attentive staff and Ashley's professionism and cuts (obviously as I returned several times). Hearing that Ashley had transfered to Bee Cave/Lakeway I went ahead and made an appointment there yesterday (Wednesday April 30 at 10am). I was told Ashley had upped her price by $10 in an advanced email prior to my appointment. The email also stated that any NO SHOW of my appointment would result in a 50% charge on my credit card on file. The total drive from my home to Wild Orchid was over 45 minutes. Upon arriving a few minutes before my appointment time, I was greeted by at least 3 people offering me something to drink, which was greatly appreciated for the customer service. But after waiting for nearly 10 minutes for Ashley to show, I left because Ashley didn't call, text or notify anyone anything about her NO SHOW. And still today, I have yet to hear of any apology or excuse as to why she didn't show or call. Not a word from management either. I should expect a 50% refund from my last appointment. Neither was I offered a included hair wash with any of my previous appointments that I was unaware it came with the cost of the cut. I thought I'd found the one stylist I could depend on to do my hair the way I wanted and was willing to travel over an hour and 15 minutes round trip to get. But I will NOT be going back to Ashley nor Wild Orchid for anything UNLESS they make this right. So far, I've heard nothing.

I just moved and we all know the horror stories of finding a new stylist. Well, this isn't one of…read morethose - thankfully! I read your reviews here - thanks Yelpers! and on Style Seat, her preferred booking method. All of her reviews were stellar and I thought she sounded like she was worth taking a chance on for my cut. Did I add I decided to get it cut one day before traveling to attend a wedding. Like Steven Tyler said, I was livin' on the edge!! She started out really slow, which concerned me a little, but now I think she's just really meticulous. She ran her fingers through my hair, asked me what I was looking for, and let me know whether or not the styles I had in mind would work with my hair type. She lead me to do a new search that found a very workable cut for my hair type and she got to work. I cannot even tell you how happy I am with my cut and how easily I (ME!!) can actually style it now!

They said they ran out yet there are stores everywhere. I feel like from the first client to the last they should ALL have the same exp. Just having nuts and water was cheap. The water for the hot tea was empty and it took them 30 mins to refill the water. The relaxation room was anything but relaxing. They had basically a bench along the walls ( so you sat fully upright ) with no where to recline and relax. Ottoman's we're used as coffee tables in the middle of the room. They were not there to put your feet on. No where to literally recline and relax. If you expect to have concierge service this isn't that type of place. It's just a basic massage joint to come in , grab a tea ( if your lucky) and wait for a massage. That's it.

I was always one to scoff at women who get their hair blown out for nothing special. Why pay an…read moreexorbitant amount of money for something you can easy do yourself, at home, in 20-30 minutes--- I thought. But I'm a big enough person to admit my mistakes to the Yelp world. Going to Blo has been almost life changing, not like in the literal sense, but certainly in the tresses sense. My hair has never looked better, I can get an actual style with curls, or waves, or straight (as opposed to my current home standard of straight-ish...) for $45, which works out to a $1 a minute. Most importantly, the style from blo lasts-- it lasts so long I kind of find myself staring intently at my hair wondering what's wrong with it, why aren't you a dirty, knitted mess yet at day 2 and day 3 (and I'm shamed to admit Day 4 because now I'm like screw blowing out my own hair!!). To add to the wonder, they must sculpt with unicorn dust and rainbows because despite getting CURLS in my hair which has never seen a curl it likes, the hair isn't stiff with gels and sprays and mousses (oh my!); but instead is soft, silky and shiny (Ohhhhhh Myyyyyy). It bounces when I walk with that little extra pep in the step because my locks are on point. Blo has a monthly membership for $70/75 where you get 2 blowouts per month and discounted BOs afterwards ($35 each). This is limited to your home location though. For those of us who want more flexibility on location, they also have a Blo Tab where you buy 7 BOs and get 8, which works out to ~$39 per service for flexibility. They also have a yearly special sale, which is coming up in a few weeks, where you buy 6 and get 8, which basically makes it cheaper for someone else to do my own hair-- that's my story and I'm sticking to it. So don't ditch your stylist, because Blo only does blowouts and hair treatments (and makeup), but do ditch the cluttered side of your sink and let someone else do it.
