I have been going to Susan at Creative Roots for the past 3 years for perms and haircuts, and they have always been great except for this last one. My hair is ruined! My roots are semi curly, but the hair shaft is straight. When I called back after 5 days, she said "well I used the proper perm for your hair." Also, that beforehand she mentioned my ends. She gave no apology! She said I could come back in and get a conditioner. Well, the ends aren't the entire hair shaft, and if she felt my hair would not take the perm or would be damaged from it, she should have said precisely those words. She could have even refused to do the perm if that were the case, I would have preferred that to my hair being ruined. In addition, some ends are crimped as if she did not roll them properly. I am devastated, I have had stylist approach me and tell me they can fix my hair...very embarrassing. read more

This place is great I won't go anywhere else.Patricia is the best I've been to a lot of salons and I have never found anybody to do my hair as good as she does. If I was to move out of state I think I will fly back just for her to do my hair. Booked a last minute appt, only because they said they had time for a woman's haircut. Got there a few minutes early. No one greeted me or checked me in. 45 minutes later, still no communication from the stylist. I finally ask the only stylist there if she will be cutting my hair. She simply said yes. 15 mins later, I asked her if I could run down the street real quick for an errand since she just started a blow dry, she said, "well I'm about to close. How long?" So I asked her how much time I have before my appt (appt time had started over 1 hour ago). She turns away and stops talking to me. Another 10 minutes go by and I finally leave. Very unprofessional. Don't take an appt if you don't have the time. Also, work on your customer service skills, like how to greet someone when they walk into your salon. read more

I had an OK first experience color wasn't great and the owner added highlights at no charge a couple of weeks later. I told her at that time that during my first appt. when she had put the chemicals on my roots to lift the color that my scalp had itched horribly. She said "I'll make a note of that so it doesn't happen the next time". On my next appt. the owner doesn't say a word about protecting my skin on my forehead, side burns or neck and proceeds to leave the chemicals on my scalp and dripping down my neck for over an hour. By the time I was driving home my scalp was itching like crazy. The next morning I woke up and couldn't open my eyes they were so swollen shut! After 3 dermatologist visits, 2 perscriptions and $600 later would I recommend Chris or Creative Roots? My answer is RUN in the other direction! I just moved to Marble Falls. I've been with the same hairdresser in Houston for over 25 years. I was pleasantly surprised how clean and nice this salon is on the inside. I was able to make an appointment quickly and easily. I was very happy with my hair color and cut. I will definitely be back. Price was reasonable. I would recommend this place. Patricia did a great job on my hair. With only a days notice, I got in for hilights, lowlights, toner, cut and style. She started on time (early in fact) and did a great job. I came into town, needing a simple touch-up on my highlights. I called to get an appointment with Patrica, but it was her day off. SO I hunted around and found a stylist who could see me because I was only going to be in Marble Falls for a few hours. Well...DISASTER!! After 4 times of describing the color (to match the existing highlights) and the style (to match what I walked in with) she changed what was once my soft- curled, honey colored hair (with blond highlights) into a steel-colored, lifeless, drab mess that was as straight as a board. I called Patricia and asked if she could fit me in at Creative Roots the following day. She saved the day and my hair! Patricia assured me she would do her best to get my hair back to my normal color and style. She booked me the very next day and turned my hair style, my hair color and my day into a happy success. I wanted to wait a while before I posted a review since I often don't like my hair right after it's done. It's been about a month since I had my hair done and I still avoid looking at my hair in the mirror. I was very clear about the fragile state of my hair when I went in from coloring but still needed it corrected. I asked for Christines professional opinion if I should wait or go ahead. She assured me my hair was in good hands. One color treatment later and a wide tooth comb my hair was coming out in chunks. My hair was so damaged she began just cutting it where it wouldn't come untangled. I showed photos of well blended root smudge and smooth layers and I got chunky layers and a harsh line at my root. Not to mention while I was in the middle of my appointment she took another client for a perm so her attention was divided even though when I made the appointment I told her to budget for plenty of time bc I knew it was an extensive job. In the consultation she confirmed she could do it all. She was super nice but young women be advised I don't think she is up to date on current techniques. read more

Honestly I still want to cry on how terrible my hair style went. We're so I begin.. made my appnt over a week in advance to just get a crown braid for my ENGAGEMENT PICTURES! which I stated that over the phone to make sure she can do them and not waste my time she said she could when I get there the only stylist tells me she's stressed out because they over booked her and she didn't know who made the appnt first. Then throughout the process literally looked as if I was her school training hair doll. No confidence in her she had no clue what she was doing taking the braid off over and over again and all I kept praying is plz let her get it because I have no other chance to fix this I told her I had to be at the venue for the pictures right after this appnt and she kept messing it up finally she had one side with two messed up braid and literally the other side hanging with curls I was sooo shocked I told her if this was how it was going to look when she said yes I was about to cry I just told her to please make the other side with two braid to match the other side and just connect them in the back as a crown braid AT LEAST ! With no time to spare she was done there was nothing else for me to do but cry! I tried to hold it in as she then charged me 75$!! When she told me 50$ I literally just wanted to freak out but what was that going to win me. Now thanks to this place my ENGAGEMENT PHOTO SHOOT WAS RUINED !!!! please don't ever go to this place for hair style ever!! O and she mentioned how another bride did her makeup the day prior and the bride hated the makeup but it was the brides fault because she didn't confirm what she wanted ahead of time! I booked an appt. for highlights (I needed some brightening) with Janene. I needed a pick me up and Janene delivered. She is completely ADORABLE and professional and asked lots of questions to ensure she understood my needs before beginning the work. I love my highlights. Thank you, Janene!!
