Aesthetic: A well run Hampton Inn…read more My Favorites: The free snack selection. Experience: This was a very well managed Hilton property, we enjoyed our night here. We were impressed with all the complimentary snack offerings upon arrival. The beds were standard, comfy, and clean. We had a nice little mountain view and it was a cute area. The tub in the shower didn't have a drain plug and looked like it needed to be painted badly, and the water pressure was very weak, that was the only downside, but not a huge deal for an overnight. We'd definitely stay here again when in Princeton.

We are Diamond members, traveling constantly for our kids' competitive sports, often choosing…read moreHilton without hesitation. This trip was no different--after a seven-hour road trip, the four of us (plus my service dog) rolled in, dreaming of a quick swim and some relaxation. Spoiler alert: that dream died fast. We used the Hilton app to check in, but I went down to the desk for a second key so my husband and I could both access the room and amenities. I gave my room number, and--without asking for my name, ID, or even confirming I belonged there--the employee just handed me a key and said, "Have a good night." I'm sorry, WHAT? That's not customer service, that's a security disaster waiting to happen. We stayed in room 504, where we were greeted by a musty, dirty odor strong enough to knock you backward. The room looked like it hadn't seen a dust cloth in years. The bathtub? Absolutely disgusting. Several light bulbs were out. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable, the whole place felt like a tropical rainforest with the humidity, and the Wi-Fi (which I need for my work as a REALTOR®) didn't connect at all. To top it off, the shower had no hot water, and by morning, I'd developed a sore throat. The pool was supposed to be our redemption moment. Instead, an interior light fixture came loose while my kids were in the water. We immediately got them out and told the staff. Two hours later, the pool was still open and people were still swimming like nothing happened. Because apparently, here, safety hazards double as "added ambiance." Then there's the "pet relief" area--a 5x5 patch of grass that looked like a landmine field of other dogs' poop, with shards of glass scattered throughout. The bag dispensers were empty, not that I didn't bring my own. My poor service dog deserves better than that. And just when I thought I'd seen it all, I spotted exposed wires on the 5th floor, seemingly connected to a security camera. Nothing says "welcome" quite like loose electrical wiring. The one and only pleasant surprise? Breakfast. It was actually good--shockingly good, given everything else. Unfortunately, one decent meal doesn't erase the fact that this stay was dirty, unsafe, uncomfortable, and far below the standard Hilton promises, especially for Diamond members.

Ruth went above and beyond and you can tell it's in her nature to care for guests as if they're her own family! Once we got to our assigned room it quickly became apparent that there's very little priority placed on property maintenance at this dog of a place. 1) Speaking of dogs, within 2 minutes of entering the room, a dog came barking down the hallway past us. 2) The bathroom door handle was loose and seemed close to coming off. 3) The bathtub spout was tilted about 30 degrees sideways instead of pointing downward. 4) The tub's drain had a large ring of rust around it. 5) The tub stopper would not open. I had to physically unscrew it from the tub and store it atop the toilet tank before I could get the tub to drain. 6)The shower curtain rod was bent and close to coming off. It drooped so badly that the curtain dragged the bottom of the tub, creating a fall hazard for anyone taking a shower. 7) Water dripped from the tub spigot all night. I placed a washcloth beneath the leak so we could get some sleep. 8) The air conditioner was exceptionally loud when running above our heads at night. 9) Only 1 tissue remained in the box and it was pulled up to the top of the opening to make it look like there was more inside. 10) I tried to make coffee in the Keurig but a round part dropped out of it and fell onto the floor. 11)  Diesel trucks were permitted to park right outside the hotel. At 5:30am one of them was started up and was left to idle for the next 20 minutes outside our 2nd floor window. 12) The bed nearest that window was broken. Possibly jumping children destroyed the box spring or the bed frame itself was broken. Every movement at night was answered with a sag and a clunk. 13) The cover plate of a 120volt electric child-level wall socket was missing. Any little finger that might be poking around under the desk is at great risk. 14) The carpeting was FILTHY. I'm unsure if it was originally supposed to be a brown color, but it certainly is now. My socks and the bottoms of my feet bore this out. 15) Oh, and the toilet seat was broken too. The joint is not at all up to IHG standards.

We were pulling our camper heading for a campground in Williamsburg and one of the maintenance men directed us to a good out of the way place to park our camper. Kudos to him for steeping up and helping us out with this. Check in was quick and easy and we were appreciative of the first floor room. As it was 7pm dinner was a no brainer with a Dominos pizza store a quick walk across the parking lot. The pizzas were great and satisfied the hunger of all. The grandchildren were enjoying the swimming pool as they always do and I loved that the hotel supplied swim towels poolside. The pool was a nice size and very well maintained. The beds in the room were very comfortable and the room was nice and clean and amply sized for two adults and two children. WiFi and Internet worked well for us. In the morning we headed for the breakfast area with the promise of a hot breakfast. There was the typical fare of carbohydrate laden foods but to my surprise there was also a very nice selection or proteins to be had as well. Let me name a few, egg omelet and sausage, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, creamy oatmeal with brown sugar and craisins. Very nice breakfast and we went away fueled up with good food to start the day. Thank you to all the staff that made our overnight stay very nice. We will definitely continue to have Hampton Inn on our radar when we travel without our camper.

It's a very old building which has been remodeled into a wonderful gem in the downtown historic district. There is no front desk. I also have to give a shout out to management as on one prior visit I had a canceled flight and had to stick around an extra day and they could not have been nicer in making sure I had a clean room to come back to on extremely short notice. Thanks! As you can see from my pictures, the digs are quite nice, complete with some really stellar toiletries, kitchen, ample space and REALLY friggin comfy beds if you are into a more soft mattress. I typically hate all hotel beds. They make me miss home immediately, but the mattresses here are legit. The bar and restaurant 'The Asylum' is right next door with a huge beer selection and decent grub. The owners of this hotel own the bar as well, but it is also within easy walking distance to downtown Lewisburg where there are ample options for both food and bars if you want to explore a bit. The price is a bargain for how nice of a place it is to post up. You are crazy to stay at one of the local hotels Escape has a vacancy. However, many visitors are not aware Escape even exists since its not listed on many of the travel sites. This suits me just fine as I want to always have a room waiting for me when I am in town.

I want to preface this review by saying that we did not stay overnight in a room at The Greenbrier,…read morebut we did spend most of the day there, and I'm glad we did. When you pull in, you will be greeted by security at the front gate. We advised them we were there for the bunker tour and to do some shopping and they gave us a parking pass and directions to the best place to park. The resort is iconic, huge and pristine. We walked our dog around the grounds and up to the main building. Unfortunately, even though they say that the resort is dog friendly, there are some areas where dogs are not allowed. So I waited outside while my husband spoke to someone at the front desk about reserving a spot for the bunker tour. When he returned, I went inside while he stayed out front with our pup. When you walk in the decor hits you all at once and, if you are a Fallout fan like I am, everything just feels so familiar and comfortable. The bold, eccentric colors and patterns, the chandeliers and unique furniture... It's all there. I wandered through the shops which are upscale and fun to browse, even if you're just looking. I bought some giant macarons which were priced incredibly reasonably and really enjoyed them. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful, and even without reservations, we were able to get tickets to the bunker tour. Be advised that they made it very clear to us that getting tickets "day of" is not the standard experience, so I do recommend reserving tickets if you want to do the tour. The vault tour itself is probably closer to four stars, but it's definitely a must. Knowing there was a fully built secret congressional bunker hidden underneath this glamorous resort for decades is wild. You walk through the old dorm rooms and meeting areas and see how it was all set up so long ago. You're not allowed to take any photographs, but I did read some basic information before coming. Still, reading about it and seeing it are two totally different things. It cost well over $100 for the two of us to do the tour and that is before tip so it definitely isn't cheap. It would have also been nice to have more seating, especially for things like watching the video, etc. My feet hurt a little after the tour from standing so long on the hard concrete floors of the bunker. The only reason that we did not end up spending the night is that we really wanted to be inside some of the main buildings and although they do offer dog friendly accommodations, they are only located within certain cottages kind of on the edges or outskirts of the property. There is also a $250 fee for dogs so we decided at the time that it would not be worth it for us, however, full disclosure: we regret that decision. We definitely should have spent the night. It was a once in a lifetime experience for me and if I ever get the chance to come back here I will definitely get a room and stay as long as I can, soaking up the ambiance and anemoia.

Yes I know the decor is supposed to be iconic, but it's just so outdated. It's not really that fun. The view is something to look at though! Love the mountains. They've got some nice activities and the fitness area is pretty decent with weights and machines. Falconry was an interesting excursion but the pricing is kinda crazy. The restaurants were all pretty good on the quality side but service was painfully slow for most. The breakfast buffet though is epic!
