First time here in 1/22/17. The food items are a little pricey for the portions for what you would expect in a small town, but the quality is AMAZING. Had the "Grown up" grilled cheese. The bread was artisan and the cheese was amazing. I had a side of potato salad which was pretty small, maybe a half scoop? Plenty of seats available on a Monday afternoon. The combination of brick and warm woods created an at home atmosphere. Service was quick and attentive. The butternut squash soup was quite tasty with good texture. They even asked if I wanted cream in the soup before they added it. I would recommend this place for sure. Dawn's Delectables provided the sandwiches, pie, and cupcakes for my wedding. I was in the shop one day for lunch with my mother and thought the food would be great for my wedding. Dawn was in that day so I asked her if she could get together some food for my reception. Even though my wedding was on the same day as graduation, she said she would take my order. I was ecstatic. My guests loved their sandwiches and the cupcakes were delicious. But let me tell you about the pie. My husband has talked about having a "groom's pie" since our second date. He was insistent that he had one pie, but with two different, non-mixed, fillings. I talked with Dawn about it and she thought she could make it happen. The day of the wedding, there it was, one pie, two flavors. He was thrilled, I was thrilled, and my guests were amused. She was also very flexible with all the sandwich orders (I have some very fickle friends). She even put everyone's name on the sandwiches, which made everything easier. My cupcake flavors were not options on her list, but she was willing to do it for me. I couldn't be happier with who I chose to provide food for the wedding. read more

We visited Centralia for some antiquing today and stopped in to Dawn's Delectables for an afternoon treat. When we walked in Dawn greeted us warmly, and helpfully answered our questions when we were overwhelmed by the beautiful baked goods in the case. We chose the Italian Cream Cake and let me tell you, it may have been the best cake I've ever had. It was sweet and creamy and the coconut-vanilla flavor was just perfect. Not to mention it was so pretty it looked like it belonged in a Pinterest photo. The staff made us feel so at home we wished we were hungrier so we could stay for a full meal! Carla came out from the kitchen and made friends with my friend's two-year-old, and Dawn checked in with all of her guests. The atmosphere was also very welcoming: a nice, open space with comfortable seating (even some cozy cushioned wicker chairs), and beautiful exposed brick. We'll definitely be back soon to try the Roasted Tomato Soup and some other goodies (and we live out of town). Thanks to Dawn and Carla for the best part of our afternoon! read more

Wow, great food! We are driving around Washington and found this restaurant based on good Yelp reviews. It did not disappoint! My husband had the Bleu Buffalo sandwich and I had the Southwestern Chicken Salad. My husband loved his sandwich and my salad was excellent - so fresh with a light dressing that did not overpower. Dropped by the other day while passing through Centralia based on Yelp high rating. I was disappointed. Yes. they have relaxed atmosphere and friendly waitresses. But I was expecting more. Like...more selection of lunch choices, more variety of dessert and sweets. We tried the carrot cake and German chocolate cakes. They were good but nothing exceptional. Moreover, they are way too sweet. The portion is way too big to use the description 'delectables'..... probably because they charge almost $5 per order. Maybe lower the price, serve smaller portion and have more variety will make them more popular? read more

I had lunch there today and there was only one other customer. Four people behind the counter and two customers. FIFTEEN dollars for a pastrami on rye and a plain iced tea. Also, for fifteen dollars I don't want one eighth of a pickle, I want a whole pickle. The side of fruit was about six grapes cut in half and some pineapple bits from a can. Centralia is not that special and as a tourist there to blow money in the antique and books stores, I will not be eating in that town. The cinnamon rolls really are amazing! They were fresh out of the oven, melt in your mouth soft, and covered in gooey icing. The bakery is adorable and the staff is friendly. There is plenty of space for larger groups to sit. I had lots of room to park our stroller next to our table with out being in anyone's way- usually a challenge most other places. A stop in a Dawn's is going to be routine for our family from now on when downtown! read more
