Love these people! they do a fantastic job on my little Skippy and Peanut. They do NOT gouge their prices and are very competent.

We are summer people and are so happy that we found Dawgtopia. This is our second year coming back and Jennifer was so sweet remembering our Frenchie. We have lived in Boston and San Diego and I kid you not, she is the best groomer we have ever been too! So many other groomers have charged more and sent him home covered in fur and done a mediocre job. Not at Dawgtopia! Our frenchie is SO CLEAN, she did the best job with his overgrown nails, and she took extra care in cleaning his face folds. She genuinely seems to like what she does and loves animals. First of all, I grew up with big birds so dropping our dog off for the first time and meeting the macaw and African grey parrot was fun. Super welcoming owner and staff. Second, the hair cut and nail trim were perfect-- and just as I'd asked. Third, there's a generous waiting area and so keeping your dog away from other dogs is easy. I would say the only odd thing was pickup-- they had gotten a little busier and the staff person who checked me and another gentleman out (and gave us our dogs) was definitely a person of zero words. We were in Maine on vacation and our Westie needed to be groomed. We took her to Dawgtopia. They did a fabulous job -- the best grooming she has ever received, I think. We were on vacation in Maine and my two dogs desperately needed a nail trim. Their web site looked competent enough, so we figured we'd give them a shot. We walked in, and I immediately noticed how dirty it was. I almost wanted to walk out, but I made the decision to stay, since there are really no other options nearby. The groomer was very nice, and she did an outstanding job, but the floor and grooming table were covered with fur and clipped nails. I don't think it's too difficult to quickly brush off the grooming table before each client. By the time, both dogs were done, I had clumps of fur sticking to my clothes. Call me picky, but I guess I expect a dog groomer to sweep on a regular basis. I don't necessarily care about the floor, but it only takes a minute to brush off the grooming table. Just like reputable hair salons, groomers shouldn't wait until the very end of the day to clean up. It's unsanitary. Took my dog here for daycare, Initially was underwhelmed by the fact that they glanced at my pooches vet records. Then I went away for a couple of days. Before I left, I was told they were always open at 6:30. They can always make room for my dog... When my husband showed up at 6:20, no one was there. He waited until five before seven. Then he went home and took the day off from work. When I returned and found out he had had to use a vacation day to take care of our pup, I called. I was hoping for a good reason and an apology. Instead, the owner called my husband a liar... Once pressed she back pedallled and said maybe she was a FEW minutes late... Still no apology. Whatever! Turns out my dog comes to work with me on the one day she used to go there, and she is a great shop-dog. read more

We take all three of our dogs here and have for several years. Our Airedale is always cut well, as is our cocker. The third is a beagle/corgi, but he smells fresh as a daisy when they are done with him. They are reasonably priced and work to fit us in whenever there is a grooming emergency. read more

Brought my golden in to be shaved. She looked horrible when they were done. Choppy and didn't blend in her head or tail. Not sure they even bathed her as she smelled worse than when I dropped her off. Very friendly people, but not vet happy with the end product. read more

They're extremely busy all the time and that is a sign of the great service they provide. My Lab puppy goes to the doggie daycare 3 days a week. He loves it! The owner is so nice and clearly loves the dogs. As for the bad reviews as far as cleanliness, I can't tell you how many times I have come to pick up my dog and the owner is vacuuming and cleaning. This is a great place! I took my golden retriever there last week for a shave. I agree with Debbie T. it was unclean and smelled bad in there. I told them when I dropped her off that she is affraid of men. They told me that she would be ready in two hours. Three hours later she was finally done. When I picked her up they had her in a kennel that was way to small for her and a man was trying to get her out. I finallly had to go and get her out because she is affaid of men. When I got her home I noticed that all of her hair was uneven. I told them i wanted her hair as long as a Labs and it was shorter then a Labs. She looks ridicules. I will never take her there again and would not recomend them to anyone. read more

We brought our two dogs to get their nails trimmed and it was horrible!! The poor dogs were so scared to go in the back room with the guy because there was kids screaming/playing.. Throwing balls and no joke one girl ran over to a cage with a scared barking dog and poked it and ran off. On top of that their nails were almost splintered looking. I gave my dogs lots of pats and hugs after that. I will never return. I bet their insurance company would like to know about the kids running around with dogs all over the place. read more

My little 20 pound dog arrived healthy and joyful. I asked for a scruffy all-one-length cut. When I picked him up he was LIMPING, tail between his legs, head down, no eye contact, totally traumatized. Plus he'd been given the worst buzz cut you can imagine. Just those things alone are enough to never return. BUT WAIT there's MORE! I called the next day to speak to the cutter (I was too angry the previous day to talk rationally.) The cutter turned out to be the owner. I asked if anything had happened to my dog while in her care. She denied knowledge of anything, but said he'd been "wiggly." I told her I had requested a scruffy cut. Her response, "Well nobody told meeeee." (Think defensive whiny voice with the emphasis on 'me.') There was more of this type of inane response, but I eventually said, "So this is MY problem?" Her response, "I guess it is." GOOD GRIEF CHARLIE BROWN!!!!! I finally got a refund, but I had to ask for it. This place needs both customer service training and dog grooming training from square 1. Stay away!!! read more

wow I thought that I was the only one with an issue regarding the appearance of the shop. The first day I had gone in there I was searching for a dog brush. You would think that should be a non issue considering they are a dog grooming business. Anyway there were a few for sale items on a rack in front of the check out counter, ok common area for sale items however I only saw one dog brush. no problem I thought they must have some in the back but no. Needless to say i bought the last one but that's not the real issue, the brush still had the tag on it but was full of what looked like cat hair. Long story short, in the five min I was there I did notice all of the dog hair throughout the store along with bird seed all over the entrance floor. The grooming rooms had piles of hair and whatnot all around. I get the fact that keeping up with dog hair is a challenge but there were three people working that day it was only 9 in the morning and I am willing to say much of the mess was not new. And the smell was a whole other thing. I have since then been back only for the clinic with the traveling vet and every time its the same scene. It is too bad because the concept is great and we don't have many places like this close by to pick from. I guess if the competition isn't a big issue then you don't have to be concerned with things like sanitation. Sorry to the owner not trying to bash you or your business but maybe you could encourage your employees to take turns with the cleaning more frequently. read more
