I'd give more than five stars if I could. I have finally found a wonderful vet practice in the area. Dr. Quinn is amazing, thank you.

Great service, happy dogs, amazing price!…read more We dropped our dog off while we went camping for the weekend with friends. Our dog is usually more interested in human companionship than canine companionship, so I told the ladies who checked her in that we weren't sure how she would prefer to sleep (in the open or on her own). When I picked her up, I learned that one of the women working there let our dog snuggle with her all weekend - on the sofa watching tv and even overnight to sleep. When she was checked out, she was calm, happy, and relaxed. I couldn't ask for anything more! These people love dogs and just want them to be happy and comfortable, no matter what their personality. It seemed like our dog enjoyed her weekend in the country as much as we did!

He's 5 years old and a bit of a goof ball when his needs are met. In the past 6 mos Ive used BDI twice. When I brought Basil for a stay in Dec. He approached the entrance and when the door to the office was opened, he did an about face, and headed back to the car. As I was headed to the airport, I had to coerse him to enter the office. I assumed it was nothing unusual. (first red flag). The staff would not let me see the back where the dogs are kept. ( second red flag ). Basil stayed 6 days that time. Recently I attended a week long event and booked a res for him well in advance. They insist on 50% deposit, which was substancial. When I dropped him off, again he balked at the entrance. ( 3rd red flag). I decided to call the next day to see how he was doing. Call went to voicemail, no one called me back. ( 4th red flag). Two more days go by, I call again, mentioning my first call that had not been returned. I then received an email telling me Basil was fine, wnjoying his stay. Pictures were sent to convince me. On pick up day, I emailed my arrival time, and was there at 4pm. Dani said she would email me a receipt when the charges went through. I took Basil home, he was exausted. No charges came thru til 48 hrs later, no email either. I saw the charge on my bank statement online. I emailed BDI and explained how I had not received a receipt, and found it unsettling, and unorofessional to charge a customer without the chance to review the charges. Within 15 minutes, I recieved an email with the charges, and an additional email from the manager Natasha, apologising for the delay, and telling me I was no longer welcome to make a future reservation with them. (Huge red flag). Any business that is that reactive to legitimate concerns, and results in blocking the customer, is a reason to really question this business, and their integrity. Im fine, Basil is fine, we will spread the word about our experience and never go back per their request. H Harwood

We would pick her up and she was a "hyper-fit" but soon settled back into our home routine after reassurance, a shower and much brushing. We picked her up yesterday and she was so glad. She was also shining clean and had been brushed out , toenails trimmed (really well). She was less stressed, even when coming home into the house. She was glad to be home as always but way more comfortable with being gone. We had a repair man stop by today, and for the first time ever, she didn't run out barking and trying to scare him off, she was watchfull, but not threatening . Not sure how you managed this, but whoever is working there now , THANK YOU, for taking such good care of her and helping with her training. Kerry Dougherty & Dick Dyer

I had several questions because the ownership is new and I am not familiar with their policies. The female was clearly irritated by my questions and she kept telling me to look at the website, which I had already done. My questions were specific to what I needed to provide for a dog that takes daily medication and if my dog could have 1-on-1 exercise/play time because she doesn't do well with other dogs. I also had a question regarding vaccinations; the prior owners would tell us when their records showed a vaccination was due. Also, we've boarded our dogs in kennels in other states that want kennel cough vaccination every 6 months (even though the vet states it's annual). When asking for clarification, she kept telling me to call my vet and would not answer any questions regarding 'their' requirements specific to kennel cough vaccination. When I finally told her that I didn't appreciate her attitude, she explained that I had an attitude and promptly cancelled my dog's reservation, telling me to find another kennel. We have been using Canine Country Club for years with nothing but GREAT experiences. I met the new owner a few days ago (she owns Paws and Claws in Belfast as well) and I thought she was nice, but apparently the owner told the staff person that I was rude when I stopped by. The only reason I stopped by was because we were driving past the kennel and I needed a reservation in just 2 days. I was hesitant to make my hotel reservations without knowing I had a reservation for my dog. The owner told me to go right ahead and make my travel reservations and assured me that she had a spot for my dog. I thanked her for her time and told her it was nice to meet her. Apparently the experience was not mutual since she told her staff I was rude. We already found another kennel to use and their staff was extremely helpful and professional. It's a shame that customer service is now nonexistent at Canine Country Club and the courtesy of returning phone calls and answering questions of customers is a huge inconvenience. I don't think they will do well with the current staff..... Apparently they don't recognize that customers have options too.

We were able to make all the arrangements online. The day I dropped him off we were greeted by a staff member named Joy. She is aptly named. She was a delightful woman, showing me the facility, and where my dog would be staying. She showed me where the cameras are so that the owner can look in the evening before she goes to bed to make sure all the dogs are OK. Each dog has his individual space where he spends the night. There is a group inside play area as well as several different fenced in areas outside where dogs can play separately or together. There is a man who lives on the property who is also available in case of emergency and works part time at the facility. When I came to pick my dog up the next day, he was happy and healthy! Their extensive training and expertise shows through their depth of compassion and care. On one occasion, due to circumstances out of our control, we had a major change to our arrival date/time. Michele was flexible and pleasant, allowing us to make the necessary changes to return home safely. She brought calm to a very stressful situation. I have always been very choosy about who I leave Daisy with. I prefer professionals who are trained for medical emergencies, encountering a hostile animal, taking respectful care of your home, etc. Never once have I been concerned about using Maine Sitters. When I am away, I do not worry or stress about Daisy or our home. I know they are in good hands with people I trust and that is a gift I do not take lightly.
