I have used Gardner Moving a couple of times--first for a small move from one apartment to another apartment in the same building and then for a medium-sized move from the downtown city to the North Hills. I appreciated that Gardner Moving had convenient dates available for me, that they gave me an estimate within one day, that the employees spoke courteously with me, that the final price was below the estimate and was reasonable, and that none of my belongings were damaged. They were significantly easier to work with than a different moving company that I had previously used.

We were only scheduling a few days out and within a day or two, they had someone at my house to give me a detailed estimate on moving our belongings. They showed up with a crew and efficiently moved all of our belongings down multiple flights of stairs and into our new house across town. Though we had lots of fragile or vintage items, everything arrived in perfect condition. And they moved so quickly that our costs came in lower than the estimate. Overall, I would highly recommend Gardner to anybody and will use them if I ever move again.

I had a million questions and I was very worried about the move, she was very patient with me and walked me through each step, calmed me down. We hired this company to pack and move our things in July of 2021. The movers were quick to pack…read moreand load everything onto their truck, but everything the movers did after they loaded everything was completely unprofessional and incompetent. After the truck left our old address, the movers took more than an hour to arrive at the destination which couldn't have been more than a 5 minute drive away. When the movers finally did come back with the truck, they were drinking sodas, so we assumed they just went to lunch. Nothing wrong there -- it was noon and people have to eat. However, at the end of the day they charged us for the hour they were at lunch (see attached photos). At the end of the move when we were unpacking, we saw that the movers had significantly damaged many of our possessions including our printer, an office chair, an office desk, kitchen supplies, our TV console, and had lost many items including the screws needed to reassemble our bed frame. The movers took no responsibility and just told us to search for the lost items in the old apartment (which did not have the missing items). Unfortunately we did not get an upgraded insurance policy as we did not expect a $240/hr company to be this bad at their work. We naively believed that a company with glowing reviews on the internet could do their jobs correctly. Nonetheless, we decided we would settle for the $0.60/lb reimbursement. After nearly a month before we finally got ahold of Prime Moving again for reimbursement, they simply denied that their movers had done the damage and refused to reimburse us for more than $100 for having caused nearly $500 of damage. Apparently if you don't take before and after photos of everything you own, they can just deny that their workers did anything wrong. It's truly a shame that this company won't stand by the quality of their work.

The pins needed to hold up the shelves are missing. Isaiah told me they were in my old home office tape together in a ball. I went back there and found nothing anywhere I looked. Afraid to sleep on either bed that they reassembled. I removed the photos and changed the rating because Jerome from Moving ahead did an excellent job of correcting all our issues. I view the measure of a company not only on the original work but how they handle any issues that occur from the move. Moving Ahead Services did an excellent job correctly every issue we had. I have officially reported them to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PA PUC), who informed me of the following: 1) the PA PUC had already issued this company a cease-and-desist letter, 2) this company is NOT on their approved list of moving companies, 3) that the PA PUC will look into this matter further for additional fines, and 4) the PA PUC will forward this matter to the federal department responsible.
