Albert informed us that certain sections get certain sizes so ya can't just plop any headstones anywhere, there is a system and we were in the more moderately priced section. Where do I begin? It all started with the un expected passing of my father, a retired NYPD officer and trying to find someone to do our monument was over whelming to say the least. Our cemetery would not make any recommendations and only a hand full of friends have had to make this choice in their lives so no real solid leads. So, I did some research and found Davydov on Yelp! Their reviews were very good so we decided to go with them. With in 24 hours Mr Albert Davydov contacted me and was very knowledgeable and up front with how the work has been heavier then normal due to the Covid virus. We were in no rush and we're actually thinking Spring delivery when we started this journey in August. Albert listened to our vision and helped us every step of the way from color of stone, lettering style, quotes, and designs. Our cemetery is very strict with specifications allowed and Albert assisted us through the while process making it so much easier fir us. Sadly, my younger brother passed away so the monument production came to a halt and more paperwork was needed before production could commence. Thank goodness for Albert and his experience, we were in total shock with this passing and Albert kept us on track. Towards the end one of our very important details was not going to work as we thought and although we were sad; it sounded like the words would be too small couldn't be done. Bottom Line: Not a task you want to have to do but if you have to, this is the place. We met with Albert. He was very professional and very welcoming. We needed to add 3 names and dates to an existing headstone. My brother showed him a picture of the existing headstone and gave him the information on what he wanted added. My brother was going to add just the names but not the dates, thinking that it was going to be very expensive. We were pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the pricing was for the lettering. My brother gave the go ahead for the names and dates. We gave Albert all of the information from the cemetery and he handled everything else. About 2 weeks later my brother got a proof to approve (for spelling and date accuracy). Several weeks later we got pictures showing the finished product. We couldn't believe how fluid it looked. In August 2019 I asked a Vice President of All Faiths Cemetery (Mr. Bryan) for a recommendation as to who could construct the gravestone for my dear Uncle Charles' grave. He replied: "Davydov Monuments and they are located right near All Faiths Cemetery on Metropolitan Avenue." So I called to meet them. Mr. Albert Davydov gave me a very reasonable price quote for a grey granite gravestone and a picture of what it would look like with its dimensions in inches, after I told him my Uncle's favorite color was grey! He assured me that it would meet all the rules and regulations of All Faiths Cemetery. I told Mr. Albert "I'll be back." I returned on Sept. 1 with a $2,500 down payment. Mr. Albert gave me the contract and told me the work would begin once I paid him in full. I said I would come again in October 2019 to give him the balance, which was less than $200! And the total price he quoted me was $800 less than the price I got from a competitor who was several blocks away! I thought Davydov Monuments was very fair and very reasonably priced. On October 29, I paid the balance to Mr. Albert and he told me that my Uncle's gravestone would be erected on my Uncle's grave right around the anniversary of his death, which was Dec. 24- Christmas Eve.
