Learned a disappointing, but valuable lesson about Davis Water Conditioning today. They will not standby their long-term and loyal customers. We tried to arrange a maintenance appointment for our two RO systems today, but Davis declined to service the units. Davis originally installed the units and has been servicing them since they were installed. Today we were informed they no longer service 'those' units. The RO systems have been working flawlessly but it's clear that Davis wants to coerce us into buying new units. This is nothing short of a scam. I've spent over 20 thousand dollars with Steve and Davis water conditioning on what was supposed to be a great commercial reverse osmosis. As we were new to the reverse osmosis world, Steve told us he would take care of us and point us in the right direction. After a year of hell and wayyyyy too much money we decided to start price checking all the things Steve had told us to buy......we found that he had been charging an insane premium. We trusted him. These people never answer their phones, if you do get someone there is some reason why they can't speak to you at that moment with the promise of a call back that never comes. Even after you have them install an expensive unit, there was no loyalty to the customer if follow up is needed. read more

I bought a water conditioning unit less than a year ago. To date we have not had soft water. They installed a house filter which seems to be working and an RO system that also seems to be working. But the water conditioning system is dismal. To add insult to injury, when we called the company to let them know that their system was not providing conditioned water, they sent a technician to readjust the settings (which should have been set properly at installation). This should have been under warrantee instead of charging me $134.00 to adjust the unit. To date, no soft water and I noticed a pinhole in the salt container which seeps constantly. I am reluctant to call and be charged another $134.00 for them to replace the storage unit. It has been nothing but disappointing after paying $3000.00. 25 years ago I bought a $500.00 Sears water conditioner and it is still working perfectly in the house I recently sold. read more

I just moved into a new home with a soft water system already installed with a Davis Water Conditioning sticker on it. I've always lived in apartments up to this point, so I didn't know how to use it. They were able to put me on the phone with a technician (his name was Joshua) and he explained how the system worked and what I need to do to ensure it's running well. I rent my water conditioning equipment from Davis and it was time for an upgrade. I called into the office and spoke with Steve, extremely knowledgeable and pretty much diagnosed the issues I was having with my older system and we decided to upgrade. Christine is always on top of the situation in the office for service / install dispatch, billing etc. She set me up with an appointment and Evan showed up on time to swap my equipment out. Evan was a super friendly guy, swapped out my old conditioner, wrapped up the job - immaculate - complete - EXCELLENT. My monthly rental went up just a few bucks for brand new equipment and our water tastes great, and is super soft in the bath and shower with loads of soap suds! Avoid Davis water conditioning! They took our money and then were not available to service the RO system that didn't work after a mere 6 months. When we did get their attention to the matter, the owner left us a really nasty voice mail message and blamed us for the problem their RO system was experiencing. Davis Water is a business to be avoided. There are other comparable companies in the area that are far better. The service was rushed, repairs were suggested that were not needed, the service people were rude and lacked professionalism, and the owner was unclear on pricing. If you want good service from a reliable company, it's best to look elsewhere. read more

Follow through was horrible. the guy that installed our system was nice, but didn't seem to know everything he needed to know to be a quality installer. I was not provided wiht any paperwork relating to our system (ie; a manual!) and we will probably have to call in another company to make sure things are correct. Very frustrating! read more

Davis water does not stand behind their work. They said we needed a new r/o system that was not necessary .Then when we had problems with it they refused to stand behind the warranty and repair .This company ran our water company for years and did a very poor job. High priced , terrible service. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Davis Water Conditioning has been great taking our sulfur out of our water. We had to dig a new well and got sulfur water however, Davis Water Conditioning is doing great with the RO system and follow up with us is great. read more

This business lacks professionalism. I called to have my reverse osmosis serviced at my rental home. I expressed to the receptionist, Andrea that this was a rental home and to coordinate a time with my tenant but to bill me for service and advise ME ONLY on parts and/or additional repair fees that would be in addition to their whopping $125 service call. The next day, I received a call from my tenant explaining in a voicemail that Davis Water couldn't come out until I authorized a $75 membrane part fee. She also stated she was informed of the $125 service fee I was incurring....UMM hello?! Why are you even involving the tenant in the financial aspect. It wasn't until an hour later that Davis Water left me voicemail stating that the replacement part would be $85 and that I needed to authorize service. So my second gripe is with the discrepancy in price that was quoted to my tenant then left on my voicemail. After speaking with the owner, Steve Davis, he said he went ahead and met with the tenant to make repairs since she had authorization from me. So, what was the purpose of even calling me if you were just going on the word of my tenant to make repairs? I was about to cancel service only to find out it had already been performed. Subsequently I found another local business that would have come out to do the work needed for only $35 and roughly another $35 for the membrane replacement. Quite a difference in price!!! OH and I was later informed by the tenant that the service person who came out to the home was trying to pressure her into just replacing the unit entirely.
