I have had to downgrade my review because of the decline in service. They have no local rep and they defer most queries to their local reps. Then, the engineer who is on many of their youtube videos, appears to have been dismissed, so getting any technical information has become more difficult. These are not inexpensive systems, they are also very high quality. They are NOT user friendly, forcing a technician's appearance. If you are wealthy and you have an approved company nearby who KNOWS the system, they are great (4 stars go for product), their service has declined (1.5 star). Average 2.75 rounded up. read more

If you are not willing to do it yourself, it's a good value. However, you can easily purchase a very good water softener product online and DIY for a fraction of the cost. I have had my sys since 2008. I was told there was a small leak at the control panel ( black box with filters). I had that changed. The next day I got a call & was told that the pressure was high. I wasn't aware of the "special" gauge that was put on the outside faucet where the pressure regulator is located. I got a call or text and suggested I do a bypass. ok Im not a plumber so I received a video ... DO IT YOURSELF so we are not responsible for damages. Little did I know what a mess with the over flow of dirty water in the tank in my garage. SO i was told I should get a new pressure regulator & install a thermo expansion tank. Ah No! I have a fairly new pressure regulator installed 2023 . Now I need a thermo expansion tank bc they installed a new filter ( black box panel) does not sound right to me. All of sudden I need an expansion tank!! I called the water company to make sure.. I was told in my area the water does not get that high PSI levels. As i'm read the reviews & thinking they are going to tell me I need a new system.. You know , Oh your system is very old we have new technology blah blah! I have a plumber coming over to check the PSI..at this point it's going to cost me but it's a matter of being honest with a continuing customer. I have paid thousand for this system. I have a Hague system now. I called the company and they happily came out thinking they were going to sell me a new unit. The old unit is only three years old so under warranty. The sales person made no mention of fixing or replacing the existing unit. Rather, they wanted to sell me a new unit for $8000. This is ridiculous because I can buy a decent water softener for my entire home online for about $600 and have my plumber install it for about $800. Plus the online few reviews of this company state that their customer service is terrible. My advice beware. read more

We finished our Hague Quality Water system installation last Dec but it took me one year to finish this review because of the moving and the almost 7 months remodeling (3 months planning, 4 months construction), and after all the chaos; Hague Quality Water's products proves its high quality and reliability; especially right now the Thomas Fire causes some of the water sources got polluted by ashes, but we still feel very comfortable to drink our water without boiling first. I don't understand where were those bad review's points, the communication and know what you need are the key; I meant, for example; study what you want before you go for an expensive kitchen appliance is necessary. If you don't know what you want, sometimes it causes the misunderstanding. But per our experience, Eric and the Hague Quality Water team are very easy to work with, they don't push you, they give you suggestions for different needs....And yes, they are not the cheapest "water softener" company on the market, because their products are beyond that. You can get a set of basic water softener and undersink RO filter from Costco too....why bother? Because the water is very important for us!!! Okay, the story is when we moved into our new house last year, the previous owner left an old, traditional style water softener. We didn't know if it didn't work or it "should" just work that way; the water tasted horrible, dishwasher smell like open a garbage can after run the cycle and we could smell the chlorine when we were taking shower. We found Hague Quality Water online and contacted them for products details, Eric contacted and arranged to visit us in a very short time. He knew we were in pain because of the terrible water quality. Eric came and gave us a very detail presentation, answered all our questions before we decided what to do. We also had special installation requests: need the spaces in the garage and underneath the kitchen sink. Eric helped to design the layout and then we decided to go for the Watermax System and the High efficiency Reverse Osmosis System. The installation technician is a big gentle guy (Grag?). He learned we will have the house remodel coming and need to reroute the filter water when we redo the kitchen; he installed 2 extra shut off valves in the garage and added an extra faucet as well. He said "I need to make sure you will have the best drinking water during your remodel, water is very important!" (It really helps for our following 4 months remodel living) He drilled a perfect clean hole on our granite countertop for the faucet of the filter water, amazing skills! Finished the work perfectly by himself on time; no word to describe. Then Eric came back after 1 week to check the water quality, follow up and FAQ time for our water system. After we had their water system, drinking the water in the restaurants when we eat out become a hard time for us, our drinking water is way better than that and no more chlorine smell from any faucet in the house, skin feels clean and smooth after shower!!! We went through a few different companies looking for quality water. Living in Atascadero, ours was awful. We were at something like 700ppm in hardness. Hague quoted us quickly, showed up promptly, the sales person was fantastic and energetic. It wasn't like a sales meeting, it was like hanging out and talking about water (probably not something many of us do, but it was a very relaxing experience). Installation wasn't as smooth, but that was because our house is a challenge. They immediately discounted any and all changes, offered help to fix things, and made every change to my satisfaction. I never knew what kind of difference having soft water would make. Our equipment is better, our showers more relaxing, our hot tub is fantastic - everything that involves water in our house is so drastically improved by what Hague put together for us. We had a reverse osmosis filtration system installed in our kitchen several years ago. We couldn't be happier with their service, workmanship, and quality of water. They come out once a year to maintain the filtration system and have always been on time and professional. We have no regrets as our drinking water quality has been excellent. So I had posted a review a while back and i see that it somehow got removed. Caused thousands of dollars of damage to our house due to worker installing fitting wrong causing leak under house. Leak went undetected for a year and a half before found. Drug the issue out for 18 plus months furthering the damages. Solid oak floors warped and buckled, Mold and Mildew, Sub Floors warped and insulation wet and retaining moisture. 3 plus years later they have not taken care of it. Now have to borrow against our home to fix it and SUE the POS Snake Oil Salesman. Hours after my review I was contacted by their attorney for this. Really! I guess I do not have a FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT to leave a review. So I will clarify this better in a new detailed review to make the issue transparent as I do not want any false facts. Fact "A fitting was incorrectly installed" resulting in a consistent leak for almost a year and a half before discovered. Damages were incurred due to the excessive moisture introduced under the house. They have not done anything to have the underside of the house dried out properly Due to they did not want to file an insurance claim. Quote "I have not had an insurance claim for over 16 years or 12" Can't exactly remember the number. "Can we work this out ourselves" So I put my trust in the issue would be taken care of as my family had just rebuilt our home from a house fire and were under a lot of duress over this new disaster. So being the nice guy and putting our trust and faith in their word. We were provided with some interior mold clean up,air purification unit till it broke down and not replaced, some raking of soil under house, and one carpet fan blowing thru a screen vent. We have been subjected to damages that continue to get worst over time due to all of this water that was introduced under our home due to a mistake made by the installer. Yes it is a costly mistake and we expected it to be taken care of even if you were to do it in a way that would of cost you less than what the bids were from the remediation companies. However this has resulted in this company making claims that the moisture under the house in not from them. Been here for 20 years and never had an issue under the house and the soil was dry when they were under there installing their piping. So seems being the nice guy has resulted in the age ole "Nice guy's finish last" So now we have to spend money for an attorney for something that was not caused by us. We have enjoyed the product for about 20 years have made referrals and they even were generous to us during the rebuild after our house fire. However a mistake was made by an installer and has not been taken care of. The health of our family due to this should be a priority. But we get a threat from an attorney instead. Money spent the wrong way. Damaged our home due to faulty workmanship. When you make a mistake own up to it and make it right. Exposing our family to Mold and structure damage due to improper workmanship. That's what insurance is for. Had respect for them til now. read more

I was in the market to buy a water softener for my home, so I filled out the online form and received a call a few days later from Eric B. and he gave me a sales pitch and some info on Hague water softeners and then told me they had a special going on which included free installation with the purchase of a new water softener; immediately a red flag went up because everyone knows there's no such thing as a "free installation", what plumber do you know who is coming out to your home who is going to work for free, none I'm aware of and most of them want between $100.00 and &150.00 an hour so I knew the Free Installation was just a sales pitch and the labor for the water softener would be baked into the final overall price. Three days after Eric B. came out to my home and looked at my current water conditioner and checked my water pressure sent me an email with a quote for a Hague water softener and when I read it, I almost fell out of my chair, $3,200.00 for the Hague water softener, this was a ridiculous insane price to pay for any water softener. The price without the so-called "free" installation brought the quote almost to $4000.00. The next day I got a quote from Culligan on their water softener, and I was quoted $1600.00 for the Culligan water softener less than half the price I was quoted for a Hague water softener. I also did some research online and found most of the manufactures selling salt-based water softeners range anywhere from $350.00 to $1000.00. There is nothing unique or special about the Hague water softener that would warrant paying $3200.00 on a salt-based water softener, they all work on ion exchange and most of your better units offer great warranties with digital metering with wifi smartphone integration, U S water systems give a 10-year warranty on their tank and 7 years on their valve and electronics. So do your research prior to purchasing a salt-based water softener from Hague. This review is not meant as a negative view on Eric B. he certainly doesn't set the pricing on the Hague saltwater softener's and I'm sure is trained by his supervisor to promote the Hague water softener products to the best of his ability, so I don't have any issue with him leading me to believe I'll get a free install if I buy a Hague water softener from Hague. The problem I have is Hague water softeners are insanely overpriced and I just don't see how the owner stays in business with these kind of prices for their Hague water softener's, however, it does explain why I was told by Eric B., buy one of our water softeners from Hague and will give you a free water softener installation. I can't speak to my own personal experience regarding the quality of Hague water products because I have never owned or purchased any but I'm not willing to spend $3200.00 on a Hague water softener to find out either. If you're looking for something simple, don't bother. I wanted a quote on an RO system for the sink. I signed up in 2016 at a home show in Paso Robles to have a salesperson out to the house. After a long presentation I was presented an $8000 quote for a whole house system, soaps, etc. Long story short I chose another vendor. The kicker though - and the reason for one star - is that I have been receiving sales calls under the guise of "new water quality information". In 2017 these calls started! I asked the woman on the other end of the phone to take me off their list. She was apparently not trained in phone marketing because she didn't seem to understand what that meant. I continue to receive phone calls and emails from Hague. Not cool. Update 11/28/17, response to Eric's comments: "You never opt-ed out of our emails. We will not call you if you ask to be taken off our list." Untrue. I asked the woman on the phone to take me off your list. She kept pitching. There is ONE acceptable response when someone asks you on the phone to take them off of their list and that is "OKAY!" "I'm not sure what you think we did wrong here." Strike 1: I asked for a quote on an R/O and got quote for a whole home. Strike 2: You called (and continue to call) someone who asked to be removed from your marketing list. I decided not to go with Hague in part because of the awful sales experience I had. As I told the salesman, Brandon, it was like a timeshare presentation. I feel I should warn others and am surprised, frankly, that no one else has mentioned this. I can't be the only one who's had this experience. I was seeking estimates for a reverse osmosis system at the kitchen faucet. I told the receptionist this when I called. Other companies gave me information over the phone, but she made an appointment for someone to come out. She said he would be testing the water. I asked how long the appointment would take and she said she blocks out an hour, but sometimes it goes longer, maybe two hours, because people have questions. No. It's because it's a lengthy, rehearsed presentation. I didn't ask an inordinate number of questions, and Brandon was there for nearly 3 hours. He gave me a price of over $12,000. This was for a whole-house system, and included soaps and fragrances. I told him he had wasted both my and his time, since I only wanted reverse osmosis in the kitchen. He finally came down to $1250. I told him the other bids had been under $700, and asked why Hague's system was so much more. He didn't know, but after checking with the owner he called back a couple of days later to say it was probably the permeate pump. I researched this part and found I could buy it for around $50. If you have money to burn, Hague may be a good choice for you. Not only were they beyond my budget, the sales tactics they employed felt dishonest to me. For one, he listed all the money I was supposedly spending already (as if these costs would go away and I could divert the money to financing their system), and he started off with a base of $22 a month that "most people spend" and included my monthly water bill. Getting a filtration system was not going to make my water bill go away! Consider yourself warned. Response to Eric's comments: I wish you hadn't personalized this. I have no doubt that Brandon is a good person. I cast no aspersions on his integrity. You're the one who threw Brandon under the bus. I never said I had a bad experience with your rep, my discomfort was over the sales technique that you presumably developed and in which you admit to training him. Inserting Brandon's personal choices (church, coaching, parenting) is a red herring (among many). Why would you say "he is just doing his job to support his family"? Isn't that likely true of everyone who gets reviewed on Yelp? You seem to be arguing against sharing an experience that's negative. If we "cut ...some slack" we would never write a critical review. These comments just make you sound terribly defensive. And why did you go on about him making phone calls to you if he doesn't know something? I wasn't criticizing him for that, It was merely a factual part of my account. I think you've actually made my point for me--that your company employs tactics/reasoning that feels dishonest. For instance, you say that you've spent 3 hours before usually due to questions and distractions, but I specifically said in my review that this wasn't the case in my situation. It sounds as if you're attacking MY integrity. "The money that people spend has nothing to do with your water bill." Then why did he include it in his calculation? There is no scenario in which he would need to include that figure because, as I said, it doesn't go away and isn't altered by having your system. I am aware of all the damage caused by hard water--that's why I have a water softener and ONLY ASKED FOR A QUOTE FOR REVERSE OSMOSIS. That's my point, one that you seem to be missing. That's why it was a waste of time (which could have been avoided). I am most stunned by this assertion: "The $12,000...was not the price of the water system. It was the cost of what you're spending now, if you don't change what you're doing in the next 10+ years." If that's true (and since I have soft water, I don't believe it applies to me), he should have said that. He didn't. He presented that $12,000 figure as an estimate. I'm pretty sure I still have the paper he wrote it down on. I'm disappointed in your "response," which is really a "defense" that disregards key points I made. And I'm not sure why you felt the need to use my review to launch a commercial. Seems self-serving, rather than interested in responding to my reasoned points. What you offer meets many people's needs, as evidenced by your positive reviews, and you are of course free to charge what you like. My "warning" was to expect a rehearsed presentation, which you yourself admit you trained Brandon to make. I don't see that you've refuted anything I said, just put up a smokescreen. In Brandon's ongoing training, you may want to acquaint him with your policy regarding the non-transferability of the warranty to a new owner (which I read about in another review). Had our aging RO and Water softener replaced, installer was kind quick and informative. The new water softener that was put in is way more efficient than the culligan system that it replaced, I would have to say that we are using about 1/4-1/8 of the salt that we were going through previously. I bought the Water Softener and RO drinking water system and after a little over a month, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I was using a well-known competitor in my other home, they were just okay. I thought it was the best I could do. I was wrong. The difference between the other company and Hague is HUGE. Hair, skin, dishes, taste of drinking water, all vastly improved with Hague. The technician who installed our systems was here all day, but super quiet and professional, very easy to be around and took the time to answer questions and help familiarize us with the new equipment. Before I agreed to purchase the system, I had a detailed presentation and explanation of exactly what I was buying, how much it would cost, and what was covered by that price. There were no hidden charges or unpleasant surprises. I had several options, from purchase to monthly rental, so it appears they have a plan for everyone who wants to go this route. [Note: My original review of the company was going to be 2 stars, but slowater.com lost a star between me writing the review and posting it!] We were considering Hague Water for our whole-house water system on our brand new house (200 miles from our current residence). Slowater.com was the local distributor. This review is not a reflection on the actual hardware -- we don't have enough information on that yet -- but solely based on our experience with Slowater during installation which, all in all, took 7 visits spanning 14 weeks (Jan 14 to April 15th) for a system in a brand new house which is already plumbed for a full-house water treatment system, requiring zero work on the house itself! Though the owner's son (EricF) did extend us an 8% discount on the project, his arrogant and unapologetic attitude, coupled with a lack of accountability, has left us very unimpressed. Visit #1 We met the sales guy (EricB) on the property for our initial water test. EricB was professional and appeared knowledgeable. We ended up choosing Hague because of him. He answered our questions and mentioned that the installation would take "a few hours." We made an installation appointment for a few weeks away -- not within days -- enough time so that there should not have been any surprises. Dealing with EricB continues to be the only positive experiences we have had with slowater.com. He will reappear later in the story... Our rating reflects what happened during the next 6 visits... Visit #2 - We left at the crack of dawn to drive the 200 miles to meet the installer. He was almost two hours late. - After a few hours of just puttering around, NOTHING had been done. - He casually declared that he did NOT have all of our equipment, and that he has to return. - We spoke with EricB and he promised that the next time "the owner" will be there and will take over the installation; we made an appointment for the following week. Visit #3 - Once again, we were on the property on time for the appointment. - The same installer showed up forty minutes late, dropped off his worker, and leaves to buy more material (bleach!). He was gone for over an hour. - Again, after hours of puttering around, the only thing that had been done by what turned out to be the trainee, was some piping that blocked access to our condensation outlets!! - We asked him to not do that, called EricB... who called EricF... who turns out is part owner. EricF showed up to the property. - He agreed that the installers were not doing the right thing, and sent them home. - He causally declares that he was aware that the first visit would be a failure because, well, he knew they didn't have the equipment. Of course he didn't bother telling us not to make the 400 miles of round trip drive. - Then he tried to sell us more filters -- add-ons to the treatment system we had signed up for -- to which we pointed out that he is failing to install the first system, and perhaps he should first install the primary system before trying to sell us add-ons. - He promised to send his "best installer" next time. Visit #4 - Another installer showed up and did appear to be competent. He installed the system, albeit haphazardly placed in our basement. - The next day we found a puddle of water and 2 leaks on the PVC connections. Visit #5 - The installer came back and fixed the leaks we had found, plus another he found himself. Visit #6 - EricF came back to adjust the system. Visit #7 - We return to the property after 2 weeks only to find a massive leak in yet another PVC connector, our basement soaking with water; the water had seeped up on furnace platform, had seeped thru the concrete walls to the garage and soaked our furniture. - It appears that the failed connector was previously used... yes, a used PVC connector. - EricB takes over our case again. As previously stated, he is the only positive experience we have ever had with these folks. He sent the installer back to repair. read more

The Hague system seems to work fine so far. I noticed the taste difference right away. Vic R. explained how it works and answered our questions very well. The install was scheduled within a couple days and it went well. Looking forward to years of softer water. read more
