Excellent local pub, this is where the real locals go and tourists as well. The food is always reasonably priced and a very high quality. I've been going there for 10 or more years and have never been disappointed. Go twice and the bartenders know your name and can't speak highly enough of this Eastport and Annapolis Institution. It's small and cozy what delivers great value and excellent taste. I tend ignore the tourist traps Downtown Annapolis and enjoy the daily specials overall cool drink. I was in the mood for a bar with good food and my Yelp Mobile App demanded that I go here. Over 80 reviews and a solid 4 stars sounded great to me. Some of the reviews mentioned that parking was tough. It was a beautiful day so I parked about three blocks away and enjoyed a pleasant walk. That was a smart move. I walked in the door and smiled because this place has the great neighborhood bar feel. It's hard to describe but it's a combination of a slightly quirky atmosphere and a bunch of happy patrons eating and drinking. It doesn't matter if you're a regular or not. Everyone is made to feel welcome. I can see why this place has been visited by DINERS, DRIVE INS & DIVES. I'm a sucker for a good dish of gumbo so my eyes were immediately drawn to that menu entry. Chicken & Sausage Gumbo served over rice for $9.95 sounded perfect. I was completely and utterly wrong. It was not perfect. It was stunning, and amazing, and extraordinary and earth shatteringly delicious! It was the best gumbo I have ever had and I've tried some fantastic versions in New Orleans. It was packed with chicken and sausage! I embarrassed myself with my moans of ecstasy. The bartender told me not to worry as that happens often when folks taste this dish. My favorite part was not the delicious French dip, the wonderful bartenders who anticipated every need, the manager who was paying attention to everything... No. No. No... My favorite part was when the bar-back's (whom I didn't say one word to) girlfriend called me an f****** b*****... and gave me the stink eye for the entire night... yeah. That was cool. Definitely my favorite part. And management asked me what I said to her... or him... literally nothing. I didn't even look in his direction! The manager then said, "well, sometimes people suck." Being a huge fan of "Diners, Drive-in's, and Dives" and with the previous reviews I had high hopes for this place. The establishment is literally a shack looking building next to homes. These are the places that always have the best food, so again my hopes were only increasing. Inside was nice and cozy and warm. The patrons inside seemed to know everyone and the staff was very friendly, stopping to talk to most tables about their lives and family. Great first impression! The food however wasn't as great as I built it up in my mind to be. I had the crab balls and although they were good, it isn't anything that I would go back for. It had a good flavor and wasn't overly fried which I liked, but it could have used alot more crab. My fiance had a burger that looked AMAZING though. It was a burger with pepperjack, jalapenos, bacon stufed inside of the patty. When he bit into the burger, all of the cheese and stuffing literally oozed out creating a gross yet delicious looking mess. He loved the burger, but stated that the fries were disappointing. He stated that for a place to go out of the way for such a creative and delicious burger they could have put some effort into fries and not just ones that appeared to be frozen. Okay, so this is how I came to my 3-star rating: Based on all the yelp reviews, I ordered the highly recommended Crab Pretzel as an appetizer....IT'S TRULY AMAZING!! Next day, and I'm still thinking about it! (Worth 5 Stars!) Then, I got the Crab Cake Platter for my meal.....sad to say this dish was a real disappointment....*WOMP WOMP* (Only 2 Stars). The crab cakes were way too salty, and this is coming from someone who loves salty/savory dishes. Also, I got green beans as a side, which were like canned green beans not fresh! Also, they throw in some saltine crackers with this meal (real classy), which I just really didn't know what to do with. Considering this dish cost $18, I really expected much more from it and to be WORTH that amt. of $$. Ah well, 5 star crab pretzel + a 2 star crab platter = overall 3 star rating. read more

Davis' if you are reading this, please know how much I liked that you were standing outside, readily available to welcome your guests. Also, our waitress was very warm and friendly too. Our waitress, as well as the water guy, were very attentive and perhaps that is one of the benefits of dining at a small establishment. - I wouldn't quite classify this as a dive bar, but it is very casual and low-key which I like. It's just comfortable and easy-going. If the weather is nice, there are lots of (picnic) tables outside, some with a view of the water. - As many know, Davis' Pub was featured by Guy Fieri's on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives." While sometimes I am not wowed by Guy's picks, I must say that the crab pretzel is amazing! Other selections are good too but that pretzel is a must. - For libations, they make a good Orange Crush and have some local beers on hand. This is a sailing bar for sure. Lots of people in the sailing industry patronize this place as well as liveaboards. Friendly patrons. Had some really nice conversations with people we just met there. Not sure about the other food, my wife and I both got the fish and chips. It was the worst fish and chips we have ever had. Just awful. When my coworker and I could not figure where to eat, Yelp to the rescue!! This place came up and we went for it and we were both very glad we did. This place is a neighborhood hang out that has been here since the early 1920's. TVs wall to wall and tree top tall, you can catch a game, take in friendly debates about how great one team is over another or just take in the overall trappings of the place. Seating is indoor and outdoor, but with the Maryland humidity hanging, we set inside. Had the French Dip with Grilled Onions and Fries. Wowser! The real kicker was the Maryland Crap Soup. This is a must try with it being tomato base with spices, veggies and crab in it. The spices add the right amount of heat to eat as to where you notice it but not too bad. Service friendly and quick. This is the quintessential neighborhood pub. I love this spot and will most likely upgrade them to a five once I have dinner here! We had drinks here while waiting for our reservation at another place. We sat at the bar since it called to us as two seats opened up just as we walked in. The bartenders were very attentive and helpful. We ordered drinks and an order of buffalo chicken wings. My drink was very generously proportioned and the chicken wings were delicious. My only complaint would be that the wings portion was a little smaller than I'd hoped for at $9.50 but I love this place non the less. I'll definitely be back here and recommend giving them a try. We were just passing through Annapolis and looking for somewhere that we could eat .. With our 2 big anti-social dogs .. Eating outside on the street at any of the busy downtown restaurants was not an option with our furry friends .. We found Davis' via Yelp and went over to check it out. Perfect ! After checking out the scene , I decided we needed the table that was more secluded than the others.. They are picnic style tables - in somewhat close quarters.. And from what we saw the place was continuously busy with people and dogs. We patiently waited for quite some time across the street by the water until our table opened up..over an hour later. In the meantime, the staff offered us water for our dogs, takeout food for us and let us use their bathrooms. We stuck it out and got the table. We had a great server - she was super fast and friendly. We also enjoyed having some local guys make them self at home at our table ! Haha they told us some good stories and bought my fiancé a beer. (This may not totally be for everyone .. But we enjoy talking to and meeting new people) They were respectful and left once our food came out. Crab pretzel is delicious and a must try while you're here ! Perfect for 2 people to share for an app! They have an affordable ($2-3) dog menu too ! I heard about this from the Diners, drive-ins & dives. I got the crab cake. My crab cake was delicious, plenty of chunks of crab. However, my fries came out cool, I told server and he brought out twice as many fresh hot fries. My BF got the kielbasa Ruben that was a special and he enjoyed his meal and he's a real Ruben lover. Finally came out after being on lock down since COVID-19 started. You know food it unimpressive when you've not been out and you barely eat it. Nice friendly staff, but that's not enough. My cat (if I had one could barely fit in the bathroom), Outdoor seating is very uncomfortable (the hard wood benches need cushions), but appreciated the effort to accommodate the situation. Guy Fieri, time to do a palate cleanse! The crab cake came out burned, hard, dry and tasteless the loaded potato puffs were hot for a moment and then turned to stone. (lacking in "flavortown", the sweet potato waffle fries tasted frozen, the shredded pork sandwich was moist, but I'd not be surprised it was from Lloyds line. Again, I understand these are different times, but there was plenty of time to give the "Chef" more training and put out better quality food. You are located in a very expensive town. Ok so really like this place. Been here several times. Tuesday meatloaf not. Had high hopes since I just paid $25 for a meatloaf dinner in westminster which was tasteless and barley warm. So fir $10 meatloaf platter had to try it. Best part n of the meal was the string beans. Perfectly cooked and great flavor. Typical ice cream scoop of something that looked like mashed potatoes with a not too bad gravy. The two slices of meatloaf....once again tastless. After watching the episode, I ordered the crab pretzel And the chipotle habanero pulled pork barbeque sandwich, which are the two items that Guy Fieri tried.
