One procedure was NOT covered by my insurance (Dark Adaptation code 92284) and I was never told any procedures performed during my eye exam would not be covered by my vision insurance. I received a bill for this procedure, called Lifetime Eyecare receptionist to ask why I received a bill. She specifically said, 'it was part of my deductible'. I explained I have no vision deductible and I contacted my vision insurance who told me the procedure wasn't covered by my vision insurance. I then spoke with the office manager who said the procedure isn't covered by my vision insurance, it was covered under my medical insurance. Lifetime Eyecare does NOT have my medical insurance information and had the audacity to tell me that the procedure wasn't paid because I have a medical deductible. No one at that office ever told me that my vision insurance would not cover a procedure they performed during my exam. No one. They also never once told me a procedure would be covered under my medical insurance because Lifetime Eyecare doesn't have my medical insurance information, only my vision insurance information. I was deceived, I was lied to multiple times. Lifetime is charging exorbitant prices for procedures compared to other optometrists and Vision Centers in the Catawba County area. They charged me more than the cost of my copays, performed a procedure and never told me it would not be covered by my vision insurance, and outright lied to me about a deductible for my medical insurance which they have no information about because I never gave them my medical insurance information. Lifetime Eyecare will gouge you for every penny they can by charging for unnecessary procedures costing exorbitant, out of pocket costs. Completely incompetent office staff.
