We are now on our third provider in just over 2 years of being patients here . At our June cleanings the new provider came in and told me my 13 year old had a "bunch of baby teeth". He hadn't even had his xrays done yet. They were looking at old xrays. That concerned me. At that appointment I was told both of my kids needed fillings. I schedule 2 appointments for today. One was scheduled for 830 am and one for 915 am. When I came in today at 830 I was made aware that only the 915 had been scheduled and not the 830. I was not offered an apology , or explanation. I was simply told I could reschedule them both for another day ( another entire month out) or come back for the 915. I chose, reluctantly to reschedule them both and be put on the cancelation list rather than wait 45 mins About 10 mins after I left someone from the office called me and asked if I would come back for the 915 appointment- after already rescheduling . Luckily within that time frame I called NC tooth docs across the street ( whom we have used for orthodontics) and they were able to get us scheduled for a sooner appointment. Due to high turnover, poor customer service and lacking standard of care we will no longer be going to this office, and I would no longer recommended. NC tooth docs is just as close, accepts the same insurance , and in my opinion has better a customer service and higher standard of care.

My son had work done at the beginning of the year and I had to pay half upon booking the appt and the other half before work was done when I got to the appt. What they charged I thought was a lot (336.00 for work on 2 teeth out of pocket and my insurance paid 622.40 on top of that) I paid the 336.00 and turns out what I paid vs what they reported that I paid out of pocket was $72.40 more. MetLife let me know I could've saved 556.00 if they were in network. I called in and Ritz said I had a 20.00 credit on my account because 50.00 was charged for some lazer treatment or something. Which I then explained I didn't have a balance until after MetLife called them about the over charge... or at least I wasn't told that even when I booked our cleaning appts. They charge upfront so I think I would know if I had a balance. I asked for the whole amount to be refunded back to me of $72.40 which she agreed they would do which is why I left a 2 star instead of a 1. ... I would just make sure your dental coverage is in network for the day of service even if you're a repeat patient because they won't tell you. Also check with your insurance, what is billed and what you actually paid out of pocket.

Dentist on Monroe cannot call me to cancel an appointment only Optum Serve can. So I drove 1.5 hr to my appointment. I got there at 12:30 and a gentleman said my appointment was at 12:00. I ask who changed it and a young girl walked in the door look like coming from lunch said we did. I said nobody told me. She looked at me with a smirk and said I had to call Optum Serve and complain about them. So I went outside and called Optum Serve. The lady I talk to did not know my appointment was cancelled. So they rescheduled me somewhere else. The doctor's reviews sounds good but his front desk staff is horrible. I refused to go back because my first impression was not where I wanted to go back.

[Note: Ignore the previous reviews on Yelp. The dentists here now took over the practice about a year and a half ago, so the older reviews don't apply to them.] Getting an appointment and checking in as a new patient was very easy (and a lot quicker than I had expected). They had already done their homework with the information I provided over the phone. My hygienist Melissa was very personable and did an exceptional job taking x-rays, cleaning my teeth, and setting me up as a new patient. After she was done, Dr. Modlin ("Mike") introduced himself, and took the time to look over my chart, x-rays, and check my teeth. He, too, was very friendly and personable. I was given a clean bill of health, and I wasn't pressured into getting any unnecessary procedures done. I felt confident in everyone that I spoke to at the office. The office has modern equipment and has been recently remodeled/updated. I look forward to returning every six months.

A new dentist (I believe this was her first job after school) did the procedure. I ended up with my mouth being numb for more than 24 hours and 2 days later had intense pain and facial swelling. The practice admitted the fill in was in too deep but insisted I needed a root canal after failed antibiotic and steroid treatment. I asked to speak to the provider who owned the practice-Dr. Jones and was completely dismissed. There was no ownership to the damage that was done. No one offered to redo the fill in that was done incorrectly. I had a consult with an endodontist who confirmed I did not need a root canal and the error was in the fill in. All I wanted to do was speak to the provider who owned the practice-Dr. Jones, express my concerns and discuss a plan to fix my issue. I was completely dismissed and the provider would not speak with me. As a healthcare worker with over 25 years of experience, this was not customer service. This was not ownership to a wrong. This was rude and insulting. To date, I am still dealing with this issue and trying to get this resolved. I am now being told that I have completely maxed out my insurance in June and would now have to pay out of pocket. This indicates that Trinity billed incorrectly and took the entire annual plan benefit!!! Honestly this has been exhausting, unfair and completely unnecessary.

Nestled in a serene solarium, Norman, Summerville and Associates' office is a peaceful place to visit. The staff is so caring and highly efficient. Since they took over I've had a crown replaced and some other work by Dr Salone and am extremely happy. My teeth are problematic and I know they can use all the help they can get. Their sister location across town is an orthodontist. So I like that I can get my teeth cleaned and cavities fixed here. And if I need a root canal or any "serious" work they have me covered.
