This was great experience. As a first time patient that was scared by childhood experiences. My least favorite experience was the x-rays. It was difficult biting down a metal bar that is placed awkardly against your gum and cheek by someone that's robotic with care. The X-rays provided a picture of my teeth. I met with Dr. Veronica for a consultation for my plan of care. She was very kind and explained what I would need to address. I watched a couple of videos to explain what my next visit would entail. Kiara presented the plan of care. She was very friendly and help to schedule future appointment. My only cons were the prescription and Oral-B bag. The pricing was high. I get it's a business but I run my home budget like a business. Dr. Veronica is the primary reason I stopped going to Oasis Dental. Her husband is a decent oral surgeon, but there was a time when he was away on military service and she performed my procedure. They didn't tell me this prior to my appointment. It seems unprofessional at best and unethical at worst to schedule a service with one dentist and you get worked on by a different one. Dr. Veronica Landers threatened me during the surgery. I take great pride in my teeth and I am a good dental patient. During the surgery I was experiencing pain. So, I raised my hand to signal pain. She said "if you cannot be very still I will hurt you Victoria." Years later one side of my face is still larger than the other. As you can see from my initial review, I came here with high hopes, but I needed to revise this rating. Having done that I will conclude here. If you take nothing else from Yelp, take heed. DONT COME HERE!!! I've been coming here for almost 10 years and I always have issues with this practice. Long wait times despite coming early for appointments and it seems like they over crowd the schedule and rush when it finally gets to your turn to be seen! They did a root canal for a family member of mine and it fell off within a month of it getting done. I have been coming here for a couple of months now and I always receive exceptional service. They don't make me feel uncomfortable or embarrassed about the amount of dental work that needs to be done, they have payment plans and they have free services like massages and facials with every visit. My dentist Dr Landers is gentle with my teeth and gums and he works quick. Unfortunately, I need to update my initial review. In the time since my first dentist appointment, there have been quite a few disappointing things to occur at this practice. Insurance was filed for work not performed and performed incorrectly. My husband and sister were victims of malpractice by Dr. Veronica Landers. My sister has to now have medical procedures to fix complications. Dr. Veronica rendered services that have damaged my sister's appearance and damaged her trust in the dental community. I would now tell people to steer clear of this practice. I feel guilty for posting great reviews previously. I did have an initial good interaction. However, it went downhill after each appointment there afterward. There was a physical altercation in the office concerning a doctor and a patient while I was being treated. That commotion fed into my growing concerns as I lay compromised, waiting for my treatment to continue. Everyone I know personally has long terminated their relationship with this business. Thought it was going to be a great new dentist for me and my family! Wrong, my husband and I were told off the bat, gum disease and we needed two sessions each of deep cleaning. Daughter's teeth were fine because we told the hygienist that she visits her orthodontist regularly as scheduled. My husband got ticked off and had me contact our dentist back home in California and inquired. He f course our previous dentist told us we've NEVER in which my husband decided not to go back. He bought the toothpaste and wash that cost over $60 and told me I needed to find him and our daughter a new dental because he wasn't go back. I gave them a chance, went back for my first deep cleaning where he had to me numbed! Dr. Landers, she's awesome even though I had to wait in the chair for over an hour. Second occasion, I got numbing gel instead of shots and this travel dentist proceeded to tell me that I did not in fact have gum disease. My gums were fine. Both visits I paid the cost my insurance didn't cover. THREE MONTHS later, I received THREE invoices! My insurance was not billed properly and in turn I got the bill instead of my insurance. Contacted dentist office, they had no explanation other than, sorry WHEN WILL YOU PAY THE BILL! Go at your own free will BUT NOTE! You will have him disease and require to purchase all kinds of things and your insurance will not be billed properly. Bad business! Off to our new dentist we go!!! read more

Unethical practices. The insurance was never verified yet the staff claimed services provided (routine cleaning, x-rays answer night guard) were not covered by plan, yet the plan booklet and confirmation via member services representative (who called the office to inform them that services are covered) prove otherwise. The services were charged in full to my credit card because they were rendered and needed to be paid. This was in January and it is now October and I have yet to be reimbursed. The insurance company reported claims denied due to missing information (each time since August they are continuously filed incorrectly) yet the billing specialist claims the insurance won't pay the claim. And as of this review there is no resolution. I have filed a complaint with the NCDOJ per the dental boards site because I can't file with the dental board for insurance and billing issues, and a complaint with the BBB (as well as a poor review). It seems to me that the company wants to charge the patient simply because they can get more than the contracted rate with the insurance company. read more

First time customer of this practice so I'm giving them a (2) until this issue is resolved. I was charged $100.00 for a cleaning that I honestly didn't believe I should have been charged. Code used was D4346 for a cleaning (considering I missed my cleaning the year before). After leaving I immediately contacted my insurance provider inquiring the reason for me being charged an out of pocket expense (considering I pay for the "premier plan"). I was informed by insurance provider that based off what code was giving me that there shouldn't have been a charge because it's fully covered. I was asked to give the doctors name that I was seen by (I did so) and was informed by the insurer that they were an in-network provider. I reached back out to the office requesting the office manager, and she stated "based on the code given that my insurer didn't cover all of the expenses". Hell, I went as far asking my sister who handles all insurance for her dental office out of Durham, NC and was told "this should have been covered under my plan". Now I've only have had one dental office here in Charlotte that tried sticking it to me previously and their no longer in business. I not saying that they have or haven't, but my insurer will monitor it closely to see what code will be submitted whenever Oasis submits to my insurer. If I'm refunded the $100.00 I will gladly edit my rating and review, but until then I will remain weary. Now the office: Staff: (first two ladies I interacted with) were extremely friendly, personable, and informative. Lady that did my cleaning was alright, seemed to be in a rush but her demeanor changed as she dove into working. Office was pretty clean and they used all precautions for Covid!!! read more

I REFUSE to return here! They are way overpriced and I feel like we're an on a assembly line. Do the work quickly and off to the next patient. Rarely ever the same doctor for the same thing case when multiple visits are needed. I recently had a family member that was there on Friday,10th. The said the called in the prescription, but never did. We called on Monday, 13th, they said they sent it. THEY LIED! I went into the office on Tuesday morning, 14th, and again, NOTHING was done. The pharmacy finally started calling in the afternoon, and they FINALLY called in just before 5pm. To leave a patient in pain and no antibiotics after a procedure for 5 days is unprofessional and could be called misconduct. Tried scheduling appointment today since Covid seems to have lessened along with the fear factor.. sure masks required in office. Told that after not being seen in office for a year, I'm considered as technically new patient and they aren't taking new patients at this time. Monthly I receive texts and emails advising me of opened appts etc. So administratively I am a patient. But not realistically. Being medical office and not taking Covid in to account iswrong. No phone calls to follow up on my absence. No letter or email advising me that I will be dropped as a patientif not seen. Today was my first appointment at Oasis Dentistry. I switched dentist due to insurance changes. I was seen by Briana and Dr White. Briana was very friendly, easy to talk to and she explained everything that she did during the visit. Dr White was also pleasant. After reviewing my chart information, he discussed with me options to optimize the health of my tèeth. He explained the options and why they are beneficial and what i liked most is that he did not pressure me to have the work done. The check out process was also pleasant. I was offered different options for pricing on having work i question done and explained them in detail. Overall, this first visit went well (and we know how dentist visits can be). TLDR: Please RECONSIDER coming here if you value your health, time, and money. Don't be fooled by their google reviews or massage chairs. BOTH DR. LANDERS ARE RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and UNEDUCATED. Medical negligence. Short staffed. Untrained dental technicians. Ironically unsanitary for a medical setting. Pushy front staff on selling dental products (look over your receipts). Longggggg wait times; It took them 2.5 hours for a "new patient" exam that requires no intensive work to be done...Let that sink in. My visit(s): My first 'new patient' visit went okay - had charting, x-rays, and a plan laid out, but honestly, it took much longer than it needed to. A few red flags: - This first red flag is subjective: you pay BEFORE you're called into the back. This made me very uncomfortable as paying before feels pushy and gives you no chance as a patient to fully take in the experience or ask questions about insurance and billing codes. In hindsight, it also forces patients to continue waiting in the lobby since they've already paid. - Second red flag: when I scheduled my appointment, I prefaced that I was interested in Invisalign. After my charting and x-rays were completed, a man casually strolls in and does not introduce himself. I greet him and he mentions he is Dr. A (the husband). He takes a quick look at my teeth and states, "Yep, you definitely need Invisalign" to which I reply, "Um yeah, that's why I requested to get a consultation". He chuckles and walks away...YES, ONE OF THE CO-OWNING DOCTORS SAYS A RUDE REMARK, CHUCKLES, AND WALKS AWAY. Mind you, my teeth are actually pretty straight after years of braces with only minor shifting that I want to be fixed. - Third red flag: After waiting until I felt forgotten, Dr. Landers (the wife) comes in and is very polite (unlike her husband). She discusses my dental plan with me but never once looked at my x-rays to explain where the problem spots were until I asked. Overall, she seemed unprepared and comes off as if she was in a hurry since she never asked if I had any other questions or concerns. The next two visits were cleaning appointments (one for the left side of the mouth and one for the right side of the mouth if you have signs of periodontal disease AKA gum disease) which I scheduled very early in the morning so luckily I didn't have to wait too long. The dental hygenist was definitely more professional than the doctors but I wasn't sure if she did a good job or not because a doctor never came to double-check the quality of work performed. If you're expecting a doctor to review hygienist work like I was, you're not getting it here. My fiance's visits: We came back a few weeks later and his "new patient" appointment was TERRIBLE compared to mine. We waited in the lobby for 1 HOUR before getting called back. He gets his x-rays done by the technician but no charting (gum-poking process) is ever performed. He proceeded to wait in the chair to be seen by the doctor for another 1 HOUR. As I waited in the lobby, he texts me that even the technician had left and never came back. Eventually, a doctor comes and gives him his plan. His first cleaning was HORRENDOUS. He was brought back after waiting in the lobby 30 MINS PAST HIS APPOINTMENT TIME and ANOTHER 45 MIN in the chair. He texts me that no one has seen him yet, I text him to tell the technician to grab me to sit in the room with him. As we're sitting together, fiance tells me that the technician made HIM hold the topical numbing cream in his mouth! We should've left right then and there but fiance mentioned that since he was already topically numb and that we already wasted almost 2 hours at this place, we should just go through with it. 30 more mins in, the technician at this point is long gone, chatting with the other technicians down the hall, and isn't coming back to keep us updated. NO ONE IS. 10 more mins pass, and FINALLY, Dr. Landers comes in and DOESN'T EVEN APOLOGIZE or explain why the hell we've been waiting so long. I had to be the one to ask and apparently the doctor who was supposed to see us had called out that day...so no one, not even the technicians, had the care or knowledge of this to inform us? Dr. Landers numbs my fiance who tells me he felt the big needle go in since the topical numbing is long gone and begins hurriedly cleaning one side of his mouth. One of my cleaning appointments for one side took about 30-40 mins, she did his in a record-breaking time of 10 MINS...and throughout her speedrun, she is literally tossing DENTAL CLEANING TOOLS THAT GO IN YOUR MOUTH over a stand where the mouthpiece is NEARLY TOUCHING THE FLOOR. His second cleaning is better compared to the first cleaning. Waited quite a while again, but he had an actual dental hygienist this time. We DID NOT reschedule. Today, I actually got up and left my 3-month recheck because 1.) they "lost my new patient paperwork", 2.) I had waited nearly an hour AGAIN, & 3.) tech has vanished AGAIN. read more

Made appointment for me and daughter two weeks out. Received tons of new patient emails and calls all while giving the same reason for new patient and appointment needs. I have an extreme fear of all things related to the dentist after a bad tooth extraction years ago. I was hesitant to call a dentist but I'm in pain with my gums so I knew I needed to go. I found Oasis dentistry through my insurance company and called for an appt. The person answering the phone (Michelle) was very helpful and got me scheduled as soon as possible. I went in yesterday and the RDH (Briana) was wonderful. She was very patient, understanding, thorough, and sensitive to my concerns. She took her time explaining my treatment plan and potential outcome to me in a manner that I could understand. After she was done, Dr. V Landers came in a followed up on everything to make sure I understood and didn't have further questions or concerns. I was very impressed with the level of care and compassion (Honestly I didn't expect it). The financial obligations and insurance stuff was also explained in a slow manner so I could understand what to expect moving towards healthy teeth.
