Why is there no zero option?…read more We bought a condo in August 2025. Everything about the condo in Newmarket has been amazing except that it is serviced by Superior Plus Propane (which took over for Rymes). Here's an abbreviated timeline: Summer 2025 -Requested cleaning and servicing of our Rinnai hot water heater and monitor heater, plus a new account set up. -New account couldn't be utilized until a safety inspection was conducted. -Had to harass them several times to get on the books. Done. -Safety inspection found that one pipe was corroded slightly, so I booked the fix and asked that they do the routine cleanings at the same time. -Tech comes out, fixes pipe, and tells me they never booked time for the cleanings. -Called customer service, they said the tech didn't read the notes (the techs have said the office has no clue ever and that the mergers were a mess--I have met many techs). -They decide to send out a new tech to clean for free (ok, fine, decent action). -A while later they come out and clean the Rinnais and state that the flame rods should be fixed. I call and order the parts and they are backordered. Annoying, but understandable. Quite a while later they finally come in, send a tech out after lots of calls. -They attempt to install the rods and find they are on too tight. Need a sparkle wire. Needs to be ordered. To date, we still haven't heard back about the sparkle wire or flame rod installation (I have a box of flame rods they left in my basement). The next few months after being told by at least 10 reps that they bill monthly: -Not billed until DECEMBER after calling at least monthly asking for billing/meter read. -They read it several times before it turned into a real bill. I watched them do it, as I work remotely. Still, bill was not created until December. Dec 2025: -I have a bill. Yay! -I pay the bill. -I am assured again that the bills will start being more regular now and that usually, billing is monthly. In between: -I call at least monthly, sometimes weekly. Guess who still doesn't have a bill or any decent guidance as to when I will receive one. 3/20/26: -I reach out to Samantha Hebert as she has at least responded before. This is when I learn she has quit. -Someone named Rachel Bitomske gets back to me and says "I can get that meter read." Later in March 2026: -I keep expecting a bill -I am told the meter was read on 3/30/2026 -The meter apparently gets read THREE TIMES, still, no bill -I have HAD IT, so I begin calling them regularly asking why the readings aren't turning into bills. April 2026 -One guy swears he will deal with the situation and make it his personal priority to call me within two hours. He doesn't. -FINALLY, at the end of April, I meet Casey. She is able to see that each of the 3 meter readings has come back at 0. Casey follows up with me on 4/24/2026 saying that this needs to be escalated and that service needs to get involved. She lets me know they will come out the following Tuesday to check the meter and to call her back on Wednesday. -I call back Wednesday. Meter is broken. -I ask for details about what's going to happen as I need to know my usage, and when I can expect a repair/bill. She doesn't know. -I talk with another person named Selene during this time, too, who tried to escalate my claim to Kelly (I think?) 4/30/26 -I call back as they called my husband instead of me. Kelly is not available, but wants to schedule the repair for May 5. We schedule it. -I agree to this, but still am not able to get details out of this new girl about how the process is going to go, or the timeline. She says she will get the District Manager and Kelly to call me back. -She doesn't call me despite me telling them point-blank I've had enough of being given the runaround. -I call in again and am told this is being brought to the attention of Betsy. The rep promises me that she has taken notes on my concerns and messaged her. She hopes that she will call me, given what has happened. It is not 8:10 PM. No call. No email. Nothing. This is INSANE!

We switched an oil account to Haffner/Energy North from another local provider. We also had them…read moreinstall a new Oil furnace/boiler. While oil delivery service has been satisfactory, the install was overpriced and raised questions about the integrity of Haffner's/Energy North. We had a proposal from our former dealer to install a Buderus boiler based system. I asked the Haffners team for a proposal and price to install a system of equal quality and especially efficiency. Haffner's proposed to install a Peerless boiler based system. In multiple discussions, that system was represented to be of the same quality and efficiency as the Buderus. Those representations proved to be not accurate. I later learned that while Peerless is a very well regarded brand, it is of lesser quality and lower efficiency than the Buderus. This first came to light when one of the Haffner's technicians who installed the Peerless system acknowledged those facts in conversation after the install. I was very disappointed and immediately raised concerns about the inaccurate statements and the lack of value in what Haffner's had installed. They "met the price" of the Buderus proposal [their original price was higher for the Peerless system]. When I challenged Haffner's supervisory staff, they offered a $100 dollar price accommodation. Given the discrepancy in value and efficiency, that did not begin to make up for the inaccurate statements we relied on in accepting their proposal. This was a system for a 95 year old widow, they should have been more honest. I ultimately spoke with a neutral party about the comparison between the two boilers - a 30+ years in the business plumbing and heating professional who has worked in my home [the system at issue was for my elderly mother] for two decades. He said while Peerless is a good quality unit, it is not at the level of the Buderus. He said in his entire career, he never had experienced a defect in a Buderus device. He also explained the difference in efficiency. In the peerless boiler, heat is transferred in a single pass around a heated chamber. The medium to be heated in the Buderus system passes three times, transferring more heat for each unit of oil burned. That information only increased my disappointment with what Haffner's's/Energy North represented to me and how they treated my mother once the inaccuracies and unfairness were brought to their attention. Conclusion: Good service and low oil prices. But pay attention to what is represented about equipment quality and efficiency. In retrospect, we should have stuck with the competing local dealer and installed the Buderus based system.

Then I saw Dead River advertising $2.39/gallon. When I called Matt about matching a better rate, he initially offered $3.79, and only matched Dead River's price after I said I was leaving. The final straw was a boiler service call: The tech replaced a thermocouple, but the issue persisted. Turns out, one of our two tanks (which they've filled for years) was empty--they forgot to fill the main house tank. We were without heat and hot water during a big family gathering from out of town. As a 'will-call' customer, I was told emergency delivery would cost extra, though they provided 100 gallons as a 'courtesy.' Worst part: The thermocouple wasn't faulty; the problem was the empty tank. Yet they still charged the full service fee for diagnosing their own delivery mistake. I've switched to Dead River (along with several friends and even some Ciardelli employees I've heard from). It's disappointing--wanted to support a local, family-owned business, but I felt treated more like a profit source than a valued long-term customer. Matt & Andrew: Please do better for your loyal clients and staff.

I tried to use the online portal to request a delivery which used to take a few minutes, today I was forced to call for a delivery because their estimate was that I had only 7% in my tank when I have between 25 - 30%. I am now sitting here waiting in a queue for no good reason except to punish those who are not on auto delivery. Once this season is over, your tank in gone and I will own my own. After many attempts by 3 different furnace repair companies (including Rymes) to accurately diagnose the cycling issue and therefor successfully conduct the repair, we struck gold with Eagle Pride Heating and Cooling. Josh from Eagle Pride discovered excessive sludge in the burner of our furnace which caused the on and off (cycling) issue. It appears that when our new oil tank was installed by Rymes, the oil which was in the old tank either was not put thru a filtration process OR not filtered adequately before being pumped into our new oil tank, hence the sludge. A filter was installed at the base of the new oil tank and we were given 3 bottles of WP-3 one bottle to be emptied into the oil tank upon our next three oil deliveries. Beginning February 18th I made several attempts to speak with a Representative at Rymes to discuss our issue via phone and then by certified letter. After 60 days I was finally promised a full refund for our out of pocket expenses which was in excess of $500.00, to repair our furnace by " Jessica" a Rymes Representative. Three weeks later and no refund as promised, I spoke with Scott Giguere, Area Operations Manager at Rymes who promised to "be on top" of my refund and get back to me three days later which would be Friday April 17th. Ten minutes before the end of the workday on April 17th, having not heard from Scott, I called Rymes and asked to speak with him. I was told Scott was busy and would return my call very first thing on Monday, April 20th which is today. It is now past 3:00 PM and CRICKETS, no contact from Scott. I have been a customer of Rymes since it was Fred Fuller for over 30 years. Since it has been acquired by Superior Plus Propane it has become in my personal experience and personal opinion, disreputable. The representatives make commitments that are not upheld. When I asked for a number for their Corporate office, I was told there was not one. The two times in which they returned my call, the number came through as unidentified and when I scrolled back through my incoming calls I was unable to view the number from which they called. It is very cloak and dagger. What kind of business does not know the number of their corporate office and blocks the number from which they are calling?? Since Rymes appears to have no qualms making bogus promises to a senior citizen on a fixed income, I have contacted the BBB of New Hampshire and filed a formal complaint. I encourage anyone that has experienced an issue with Rymes as I have, to reach out to the Better Business Bureau of New Hampshire and file a complaint. You can also file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Division of the New Hampshire Attorney General, which is my next step if I do not receive my promised refund. FUTURE CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!!!
