I chose Davis Facial Plastics because of Dr. Davis' personable nature and the positive impression I had during consultations. Unfortunately, my experience from that point onward was extremely disappointing, and I would 100% not recommend this practice. I give it one star because zero is not an option, and they do have nearby free parking.
It has now been one year since my surgery -- a deep-plane facelift and platysmaplasty -- and neither procedure achieved the outcome we discussed during consultations. I am still unsure what went wrong. Throughout the process, I was unable to communicate directly with Dr. Davis except during appointments.
I found communication from the practice manager to be inconsistent, and on several occasions I was given information that later turned out to be incorrect. After several administrative mistakes, I was left with little confidence that my emails and texts to the Practice Manager, Joey, were being relayed to Dr. Davis.
After my three-month follow-up, Dr. Davis stopped taking progress photographs. Around that same time, it became increasingly difficult to schedule follow-up appointments, and appointments were frequently rescheduled, sometimes at the last minute.
My aesthetician's photographs and a second opinion from another plastic surgeon were consistent with my own impression that there was no noticeable improvement. According to the second opinion I obtained, my platysma bands remained separated. Several of the issues I underwent surgery to address remain unchanged, and I now have additional concerns involving neck and shoulder discomfort that were not present before surgery.
Dr. Davis has offered to perform revision surgery, but after my experience with the initial procedure and follow-up care, I no longer feel comfortable entrusting his services. The original recovery process was lengthy and challenging, and I am not willing to repeat that process without confidence that the outcome would be different.
While I was disappointed with my surgical outcome and the difficulties I experienced throughout my follow-up care, what ultimately led me to write this review was the practice's decision to use my postoperative video in a sponsored advertisement after I had explicitly declined permission.
I signed the Consent for Use of Photographs form, permitting organic social media use of my before-and-after photos in exchange for a small discount on services. However, as a professional model and someone who works in social media, I regularly negotiate licensing and usage rights for my likeness. I have extensive email correspondence showing that the practice approached me about licensing this video for social media, and I explicitly declined, explaining that no amount of compensation would be enough because it was personal content of a sensitive nature.
Despite that, the practice later used the video in a sponsored Instagram advertisement. The ad was removed after I contacted them, but I found its publication deeply upsetting, and it negatively impacted my professional brand and business.
I have since requested compensation for their use of my likeness in a sponsored advertisement after I had declined permission. The practice declined to offer any compensation and instead directed me to communicate through their attorneys.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this practice. If you are looking for a plastic surgeon, I still believe that both the deep-plane facelift and platysmaplasty could have given me great results, had my outcome been different.
I wish I had continued researching other surgeons before undertaking such a major surgery, which ultimately resulted in a significant investment of time and money without achieving the outcome I had hoped for based on our thorough consultations. read more
