If you're on a strict budget or have a short timeline, then I would go to David's bridal. If you care about your experience and want a dress that not everyone in their mother has already had, go anywhere else. I went to David's for my very first dress appointment. I knew I was gonna go to other boutiques after, but I wanted to try on different styles and silhouettes so I had a better understanding of what I wanted moving forward. I assumed David's would have all styles and silhouettes (they sort of do, but the stylist wasn't pulling dresses in all silhouette like I asked.) The associates are nice enough, they have a good amount of dresses, but all of the dresses they have are very cookie cutter. Everyone has mixed experiences here, but in my experience it's just for exploring the different styles of dresses. It's also incredibly hot in there, and they make you wear a slip underneath all of the dresses. I recommend bringing water and even a hand fan if you're going while it's higher than 50° outside. read more

I've been to David's Bridal twice searching for my wedding dress. I ended up purchasing one there and I love it, but the experience at the shop could have been a lot better. When you arrive, you consultant takes your measurements and pulls dresses you've favorited or dresses that you describe as your style. After this is when things started to go off the rails for me. It took 15 minutes to have dresses pulled (the appointment is only 60 minutes) and I was given a room with people on either side of me (aka within 2 feet) and there wasn't enough seating for the 3 people I brought with me-- the person next to me had 4 people +2 children who were rolling over my mom's feet with their trucks and toys. The dresses pulled weren't what I requested and/or weren't in my size. I got more help from the girls on either side of me trading dresses with each other than from the consultant. Let me say: I don't blame the consultant. They were all very clearly overwhelmed, overworked, and doing their best. I blame the poor business structure that makes brides feel like cattle and valuing quantity over quality. If you just want to try some things on to see what style you like, go ahead. If you want to feel special or have a "moment," go somewhere else. read more

My first visit was with my younger daughter to pick out her bridesmaid dress for my older daughter's wedding. Customer service was minimal, but the store was busy and we weren't expecting much out of choosing the dress. We had an appointment, and 15 minutes of undivided attention would have been nice. The second visit was to look at a bridal gown for my other daughter. We mentioned we were going to Bridals by Sandra a few days later, but we wanted options since we needed a gown by July and we're concerned about timing. My daughter found a gown she liked, but didn't want to commit because of the visit to the other place a few days later. We were told to go ahead and purchase because we could cancel within 7 days if we found another dress. We ended up finding an EXQUISITE gown at Bridals by Sandra. The entire experience at that boutique was amazing. Our consultant got to know my daughter's likes and dislikes and truly made the visit something we will never forget. The following day, I went to David's to cancel the order for the bridal gown and was met with attitude from start to finish. I was asked why we were canceling. I apologized and said my daughter found another gown. She stared ahead while processing the cancellation, thrusted the receipt to me when she was done, turned and walked away without saying another word. Skip ahead about 6 weeks later to when I got a text message indicating my younger daughter's bridesmaid dress arrived. I went into the store to pick up the dress. They asked my name, to which I gave it. They were having difficulty finding the order. The girl looked at another co-worker and said I remember she cancelled the order. Again, 100% attitude! No sweetheart, I canceled the order for the bridal gown, but I never cancelled the bridesmaid dress. They ended up finding the dress and I left. When I got home, I took the dress out of the plastic and saw they didn't even order the right dress. I went to the website to order because I don't want to deal with this store ever again, but the dress we picked isn't even available anymore. To the girls at this store. Do better. I had a really bad experience at another David's Bridal that sent me into an emotional tumult; this place saved the day, and I left with an amazing dress and veil during their 20% off sale (yay)! The two consultants who helped me were wonderful, and I felt taken care of and special. Both consultants (I went twice), gladly took photos of me and talked me through to try and figure out what I was liking, disliking, feeling, and so on. O, what a difference to the previous David 's Bridal I went to out of state. I have no intentions of getting married again, but I could see myself going back here for more formal evening gowns. I literally walked in here, spent three minutes looking through the clearance rack, found a dress in the color I needed, tried it on, it fit, then I went to pay. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Unless you have to order from David's Bridal, don't bother. My daughter was in a wedding and needed to get the bridesmaid's dress from here b/c that's where the bride instructed us to go. We had a color to choose from and that was it. I called and made an appointment so we would have someone to help us. On the phone, she said we'd have an hour with someone to help us pick something out and have my daughter try everything on. We did have someone to help us pick out a few dresses. We were texting pictures of the dresses once my daughter tried them on to the bride and both my daughter's grandmothers since everyone was from out of the area. Once the girl found out that the bride liked a certain dress, she stopped getting more dresses for us and declared "The Bride is in charge!" and according to the girl, everything was decided. She then left us to our own. Also, despite us having an appointment, about 10 minutes after we started, there was another woman who walked in for help and the girl did not give us the attention we needed. Then, when I purchased the dress, the girl at the counter would not make an alteration appointment for us "until the dress comes in", but made sure to make a BIG deal about if we brought it to our own seamstress and did not do alterations at David's Bridal, nothing was "guaranteed" and yadda-yadda-yadda. She basically told us that we had no choice but to book alterations with them... yet we were not allowed to book until the dress came in. When we got a voicemail that the dress came in, we were told that we had to had pick it up within a week or it would be considered "abandoned"... I later got an email stating the same, but it said 14 days... very inconsistent. The worst was when I called to ask about picking it up and making an appointment for alterations. They were downright RUDE on the phone. They indicated that I could not make an alteration appointment until I came in to pick up the dress. When I questioned that, she said their alteration department were not on the day I called, so they couldn't schedule any alterations now anyway... but on top of that the alterations were booked up in August and September, when we needed to get in... so basically they couldn't book me, but yet at the same time she said we HAD to use them for alterations! She then put me on hold... someone else answered the phone entirely (like I had just called and hadn't been waiting) and she began yelling at me on the phone and finally hung up on me. The service in this place is horrible... if I had a choice, I would have gone somewhere else. On top of this, they get so booked up for alterations, it doesn't seem worth it to use their seamstress... but yet they make it sound like you'll be shot down by lightning if you don't use their seamstress... so which is it, give me an appointment or not? Jennifer did the alteration to hemp, pinch the chest area, and create the minimal bustle for my Vera Wang wedding dress. She and Patrica were really sweet and did a great job helping me fitting in it perfectly after the first alteration! Voila! So glad I came here and didn't listen to the bridzillas' reviews online. I did call before bringing my dress here because of the low reviews, but Jennifer assured me that DB would replace my dress if things go wrong. DB didnt have to replace anything, I'm a super happy bride to be with this perfect alteration. Highly recommend that you come here! Don't forget to bring your spanx, smile, and relax! ;) P.S. while I'm writing this, Jennifer is doing a quick minor 1/2" hemp on the right side of my dress to make it perfect, 15 mins then all done. I try really hard to not believe bad reviews but again I witnessed this. So I know how bad it was. Walking in we had to wait 20 minutes even though we had an appointment. There are so many more places to find a beautiful dress that you don't have to rely on David's Bridal. I went in to pick up my bridesmaid dress (after it came in 2 months late). The woman at the front was miserable. Once the girl brought it up, she asked if I wanted to try it on. I said that I did. I followed her back to a dressing room. Once I got undressed, I realized I needed help getting in the dress. I peeked out to ask the girl for her help and no one was there. So there I am in my bra and underwear with the dress held up to me looking around. There was a consultant helping a bride and I didn't want to interrupt. The bride went back in the dressing room and I got the woman's attention. She was sweet as pie and got me in the dress. As I got back out and walked up to the front to leave, the girl who left me high and dry asked if everything was good. I said, "Yes, with no help from anyone except the woman in the black outfit. Everyone else left me high and dry." I then walked out. I now know more than ever why they are bankrupt and going out of business. read more

Where do I begin? On a Saturday April 8th I went looking for a dress for a special occasion, I was unaware we needed evening wear for a ceremony that was taking place the following Saturday night April 15th. After searching many of the stores in the Lehigh Valley Mall and area, I decided to purchase an item on line. I shopped around and found a lovely pantsuit for the Mother of a Bride at David's Bridal. I contacted David's but, it was too late to get a response. I went ahead and ordered the item at $136. I was entitled to free shipping and a $20 dollar discount per my order, which would have been wonderful. However, I needed the item (as mentioned previously) the next Saturday night. So, I forfeited the free shipping and paid almost $40 dollars for express shipping. The following day, I contacted David's via their 800 number and asked "If there are any alterations that need to be done, could they do them in a short time frame. I asked also, "How soon will I get my item?" I was told to make an appointment for alterations. I was also told my item would arrive the next business day. Okay so far so good. But, it was not to last. I tried in vain to make an alteration appointment and was unable to through the application on line. I then called the 800 number and they told me to call the store directly but, upon hearing I lived near Whitehall, PA they transfered me over to that store. I of course got the recording and the phone just rang and rang. After 9 p.m. I decided I would try the next day. On Tuesday morning I began again, by verifying with the 800 number. I was told to go ahead and I also inquired if my order had shipped. Not yet was the answer. Later in the morning I actually made contact with a live person at the store and was told the ladies were working with a wedding party and would take a message. Someone, would call me back. I waited all day and after 9 p.m. I knew no call was coming. I then placed a call to the 800 number on Wednesday. I was told the suit had not shipped but, would be coming from a NJ store and would arrive on Thursday. So I could go ahead an get an appointment for Thursday night. I again called the Whitehall store and made no live contact. On Thursday evening my package was delivered and the pants were too long. Everything else was just fine. I tried again to schedule a fitting/alterations and again the app did not work. I called the store and a sweet woman answered the phone this time but, told me there was no way they could do the alterations for Saturday. Now, I was angry, so the woman put me on the phone with Megan, the Store Manager, who could have cared less, about what I had been through in ordering, phone calls and delivery. They would not and could not, help me! She even went as far as to state there was no message left by me, she knew that for a fact as she had been there all week. I asked who I could speak to above her and she replied Customer Service. I then called Customer Service but, they were not available until the next morning. So the bottom line is I got no help getting the product sooner even though I paid $40 dollars. I had trouble with an application online and I could not get the pants shortened and hemmed by David's, I was given a run around and I was insulted by the Store Manager who implied I lied about leaving a message. My recommendation, go somewhere else! I have a son who is going to marry the young girl he is with and I will not let her purchase her dress or have anything to do with David's Bridal in Whitehall or, Megan for that matter! I will be making a call tomorrow and letting someone else have an earful regarding my plight. I am no longer hopeful that anything will be done. Please safe yourself from a horrible ordeal, and avoid the David's Bridal in Allentown, PA. I got my wedding dress in 2015 at David's Bridal in Wilkes barre, PA. I ordered my dress and had it fitted there. I had no problems. The dress fit great! I was happy. Fast forward to my best friend's wedding in May 2022; I live in NJ now, so the closest David's Bridal is in Allentown, PA. So I went there to get the dress the bride requested. I go the Allentown store in January. They tell me I absolutely must order my dress today, Covid is holding up orders. They can only get three dresses in for me for a wedding in May. They have none of those dresses for me to try on, so I must order my dress blind. I try on similar dresses that are way too small. I ordered my dress on Jan 19, 2022, because I need to have it for my friend's wedding. I am the matron of honor, and I want to make sure things go right. The sale associates make me anxious telling me they weren't even sure if I buy it that day, if it would even come with time for alterations. The dress arrives two weeks later: Feb 3, 2022. I guess they really wanted that sale. So I feel like that was a lie. The rest of the bridesmaids rush out to get dresses, because we were lied to, no one had issues getting their dresses. We rushed and panic for nothing. I go to get alterations done April 3, 2022. I made an appointment, and arrived on time. The store overbooked and the alterations room was backed up. I spoke with a few people waiting; they were fit in without appointments. This curtesy is great for them, but now everyone with appointments are waiting and the people doing the fittings are overwhelmed and not providing good service. The people doing fittings are just turning things out as quickly as possible. I had a young man doing my fitting. He was rude and did not answer me when I spoke to him. He ignored me and just did the fitting. Literally the only thing he said to me was turn, while he pinned the hem. The top of the dress didn't look right, my chest was super exposed. I asked him to put in a modesty lining: three times. He ignored me and did not respond. The woman seamstress comes over and tells the boy that the top is not right and suggests adding bra cups. The boy tries to ignore her too, but she gets him to go in back and get the cups. It still doesn't look good, but she assures me after alterations, it will be fine. I ask her about the modesty lining. I don't want to flash everyone my boobs. She tells the boy to write it down. I leave. May 5, 2022, I pick up the dress. It doesn't fit right. The bust is still too big. The straps need to be tightened and there is no modesty liner. My boobs don't fit in the cups they put in and my boobs are exposed. I speak with the manager and explain I am unhappy and the poor situation I experienced when I was fitted. I worked retail for 10 years. I do not yell, I calmly explain the situation. The manager never apologizes for any of the errors made by her staff or the unfriendly customer service. She tells me that my bust is too large for bra cups. They can't even put bigger bra cups in the dress, because they are all out of cups. I do not understand then why the seamstress put in the bra cups in the first place then; she told me the dress that I bought needed bra cups so the fabric would sit better and to avoid using the strapless bra. Are they just trying to make you spend more money on alterations? So now I need to leave the dress, so they can fix the top, remove the cups, and sew in the modesty liner. I am charged another $30 for the modesty liner. I live over an hour away, but the manager never apologizes for my inconvenience, just nonchalantly tells me they will fix it. She doesn't care about my experience or my anxiety. I leave the store terrified the dress won't be ready and won't be fixed right. I return May 12, 2022, two days before the wedding. The dress STILL does not fit right. They never fixed the straps. They took out the cups and put in the modesty liner. The top is lose and looks terrible but at least the liner covers my boobs. I will look awful, but there is no time to fix it. The moral of this story is that David's bridal in Allentown should be ashamed of themselves. They provided terrible customer service, the alteration team does poor quality work, and you will receive a dress that doesn't fit. Your alterations will cost more than the dress and be done incorrectly. I will never return to this store and would recommend others go elsewhere. I am so sad I will look terrible. This was the first bridal store that I tried and my experience was terrible. I was with my cousin and we walked in at 5:30pm on a Tuesday evening. When we walked in, we were greeted but were told that we were unable to try on dresses without an appointment. We were told that there were no available appointments for the rest of the evening or the next day. However, the store was absolutely empty. I was just going through the racks, looking at the mannequins but was unable to try on any. All of the other associates ignored and turned their backs on us without noticing us either. This was my first ever wedding dress shopping experience and it was not what I expected. I understand that stores have policies for having appointments but to not be able to try on dresses as a walk in, in a completely EMPTY store, was beyond me. My experience here was OK. People are friendly enough, considering the crowd they have to deal with. My biggest issue was that it's way too crowded and we were in a corner with barely any room to sit or watch my future daughter in law come out with her dresses because one of the two people we had to share the area with had a huge group and took up all the space. It would have been nice to have a spot where we could all sit and look comfortably, so instead, we stood for an hour and a half. I bought my wedding dress at David's Bridal. The initial appointment was okay. The stylist was accommodating. But what upset me after I bought the dress which was $1800, I went on the SOR program which is basically a payment plan. This whole process was a joke. I put down $400 when I said yes to the dress and got a paper with three payment options, a weekly, biweekly and monthly. At no point was I asked to pick a payment plan, I was told to follow whatever dates work with me and to call to make a payment. I made one payment through the phone and it was late (my fault) and I asked if there was a fee because I was past the February dates that are given, I was told no it's okay, and the dates were used as a "loose guideline". Fast forward to when I went with my bridal party and mother, I went to make a payment in store. I had about $600 left on the dress so I was planning on paying $300 then and then pay the remainder of the balance when I got paid again. I was told that I was past my payment dates and I have to pay off the balance or risk the dress coming later than expected. When I was dealing with the cashier, a worker named Sol came over and said that they gave an email and text reminder of payments. Which is not true because they never required you to pick a payment plan so how would they know when to remind you. She was very rude. So I pay off the dress and I am told it was to come in April 18th. I came in on March 15th. Which is great, I got to pick it up that Saturday. They did not offer to show how to bustle the dress it ask if I was interested in scheduling alterations with them. I got no receipt saying I picked up the dress, nor did I have to sign for it. Meanwhile my Maid of Honor bought a less than $200 dress and was required to sign for it. Anyone could have came in and picked up my dress and it wouldn't have mattered to them. It seemed like after the initial appointment and they had the sale they were less than interested in what I wanted and the customer service was HORRIBLE. They missed out on the rest of my bridal party getting dresses from there. Very disappointed and upset. I would not recommend getting your dress here. read more

I was a bit skeptical when my sister said that she wanted to go wedding dress shopping at David's Bridal. In fact, my inner snob actually said 'ew' (my inner snob is a real bitch though). But my sister is on a budget, and she said that she wanted to go to this store specifically to check out the Vera Wang for David's Bridal collection. I held my tongue and my judgement and went in with an open mind. I have to admit, some of those Vera Wang dresses are really beautiful, and my sister looked great in them. The saleswoman (I believe her name was Jodie?) was very helpful and picked out a bunch of dresses that my sister never would have picked on her own, but ended up looking stunning in them. The saleswoman was not pushy at all. We were there for about 2 hours while my sister tried on and re-tried on countless dresses. She finally narrowed it down to 2 dresses, and Jodie told her to take her time & think about it. She did not pressure her to buy right then & there and totally understood that my sister needed to sleep on it before purchasing. Look, if you're going to David's Bridal, you know what to expect. Everyone knows it's not a snooty high end boutique, so yes, at times it did get kind of loud in there and it's not the most beautiful store in the world. But I was impressed with the dresses that my sister tried on and I was impressed by the helpfullness and non-pushiness of the saleswoman. read more

It's a wholesale Wedding boutique - not a star-studded 5+ star boutique on Rodeo or 5th ave ave. I think everyone's expectations to be treated like a celebrity is a tad bit obnoxious. I went here with my mom, aunt and cousins in tow to look for a wedding dress. To be perfectly honest, I had an idea in mind of what I wanted and decided to check out the Vera Wang collection. I made an appointment and everything went as expected. Maybe I had a better experience than everyone else because my appointment wasn't until 4PM on a Holiday weekend. By then, the majority of wedding-dress hopefuls had left. The salesperson was very sweet and not pushy at all. After trying on probably 6 different gowns, I was amazed that I found the one. Didn't want to take it off, so that must be a good sign :) The dress had to be special ordered of course and while they mentioend that it might take 3-4 months to come in, mine showed up in about 4 weeks. Can't beat that. Anyway, the only advice I'd give to someone: Don't be a snob and play nice. These salespeople work with Bridzillas (I imagine,judging from the posts below) all day, so a little kindess goes a long way. This is one of those places where if I could give it 0 stars I would. What an awful overall experience. My sister is getting married in May in Indiana. She took the other bridesmaids to a David's Bridal there, and they got what they needed. I'm the Maid of Honor and needed a different dress. I picked out a few styles on line, made an appointment, and showed up to try them on. My first complaint is that I felt like they didn't listen to me at all. About anything. I signed up on line and listed that I was a bridesmaid. On the phone when I booked my appointment I said I was a bridesmaid. When I showed up in the store I was congratulated on my upcoming wedding. i corrected her and said, no, it's not my wedding, I'm the maid of honor. Still, on my paperwork it said bride. Then in follow up phone calls each started with a congratulations on my engagement and wedding. Really? Additionally, they damn near harassed me to get my sister's name. Every time I called about anything, "And what is the bride's name?" No, lady, it's under my name. They never believed me, and always pushed to get my sister's name. Why? I'm the one buying. She's already got her dress which I've told you multiple times. Back off. You're not selling her anything else. Next, and probably the biggest annoyance are all the sales calls I've received. From photographers, caterers, musicians...all asking if I need help with my wedding. Again, not my wedding. I had to call 3 different times to ask for my phone number and email address to be removed from this list. Like I said, they just don't listen. I don't even want to get into the visit to try the dresses on. I made the first appointment of the day, and despite that the sales person was hardly around. She pulled the dresses for me and then disappeared. I had to hunt her down multiple times to get different sizes and styles. I swear once they found out I wasn't the bride and wasn't giving up the bride's contact info they didn't care about me as a customer. I ended up getting my dress from JCrew's website. I recommend going there or anywhere else. Seriously. Anywhere else. This place is awful, and if there is a hell I'm sure it will be walking in the front doors of a David's Bridal. read more

I convinced them I didn't need help, which was true, and finally they let me have a room. They even gave me grief when i went back to order my dress without having an appointment. I guess I should have learned my lesson, but you know how it goes when you have a kid, you just want to quick get something done when you have time. I actually had to talk to a manager and get her to order the dress for me. I was shocked they were being so difficult when i was jut trying to give them money for a dress that they didn't have to do any work to get me to buy. So i realize the things I am complaining about could have been avoided. So if you are going to shop here, make an appointment!!! You will have a much better experience. I will say it was very nice shopping here for Bridesmaids dresses. They have every size in every dress in many colors to try on. It was very helpful. The whole party could put the dresses on and stand together to see how it looked on everyone. That part of shopping here was wonderful. ALSO when you order your dress, it will be tight. The ones on the floor are all stretched out, so don't be shocked when the one you order is snug. Now I HAVE shopped here with an appointment with my BFF for her wedding dress. The lady was helpful but I don't think she understood what my friend was looking for. There was a lot of pressure to buy but we had just started looking. After checking out the nightmare that is David's Bridal in Harrisburg, I decided to come to this branch. What a difference!! In a good way!! :) I called and made an appointment, which I would suggest everyone do just to make things go smoother for everybody. I arrived and was kindly welcomed by the front desk and store manager. I told the manager about my Harrisburg experience the day before and she assured me that they would get me taken care of. They put me with "Katie" and she was so kind and helpful. I ended up purchasing the 2nd dress that I tried on. I happened to be "plus size" and interested in their Vera Wang dresses and they were able to find a couple for me to try on. I didn't feel pressured into anything. The entire staff here was so kind and kind of felt like family since I was there trying on dresses alone. I met the sweet ladies who do the alterations and they showed me several ways the ruffles in the skirt could be altered for me. I also purchased a Vera Wang bridesmaid dress from here in November 2012 with no issues what-so-ever. I'm not sure why others left such bad reviews for this place, but I was really happy with my experiences here. read more

Zero stars needs to be a thing because the policies this business has in place are ridiculous! No customer service whatsoever. Bought a dress online...online it says I can return in store up to 60days. Awesome, because I do work and have a life besides trying on dresses. Go to store, pick one out and they state online returns have to be returned by mail and then order a new dress online. How the HELL does that make sense! How is that of any service to the customer?! So an hour and 45 min drive for absolutely nothing, but the manager on duty telling me there is nothing she can do. For someone who claims she has been in retail for 17 years, she clearly hasn't learned customer service in that time! Since it's not my wedding, I have to go through the process, but I'll never do business here EVER! read more

I have been to David's bridal on a few occasions in different states, and I have to say that this one was the best experience I've had in all, not only did I find a beautiful gown for my sons wedding, but I also came across some of the best customer service I've had since moving to the Lehigh Valley. The lady that took care of me her name is Laura F, and she spent well over 90 minutes with me, since I am not in my 20s and 30s anymore (60) of course we had to choose a dress that would flatter my body type and age my eyes and taste are not always lining up with the real deal LOL and Laura F at David's bridal took her time to even get her coworkers involved in helping me make a decision on a gown that would flatter, not only my age, but also, my not so great figure. She picked out the most beautiful gown for me, she sure knows her business!! I felt really good walking out of that store, I actually bought the dress. It was very affordable, they have a lot of clearance right now. However I went with the middle of the road, I don't even need alterations! She had not only the knowledge of what would flatter my body type, she also knows class when she sees it, because it was a very classy dress she picked out for me. I visited both this and the Plymouth Meeting store for my wedding dress shopping. The Plymouth Meeting store blew this one out of the water when it comes to service. The service here was very poor. I did however, get my dress here. I had a corset put in and the finished result was a dress that was too big. The worst part was that they told me to get the bigger size! I used my judgment and got the size I thought. Nobody mentioned that I should have gotten an even smaller size due to the corset adding room. The alterations were fine, not great. I was annoyed that they do not have large bra sizes in the store. I would think a place like this would. The salespeople I was in contact with were either pushy or neglectful. Neither things are good for buying the most important dress of your life. read more

This place is incredibly disorganized. I called to order a long-line bra and slip for my upcoming wedding, something you think would be easy, right? Salwa (sp?) answered the phone and was wonderful to deal with. She passed me off to someone else and the story gets really long at this point. Three hours later I finally had confirmation of my phone order. This past Sunday afternoon we stopped in to pick up the goods and it took almost one hour and four ppl to assist. At least 3-4 full families (with kids running around everywhere) milled about. Employees were clueless on every issue. Due to the zoo, I wouldn't even consider checking out shoes. I wanted to get my pre-paid for goods and get out. Plan on having your patience tried over and over and over again... read more

I've dealt with this place twice, once as a bridesmaid and once as a bride. The bad: Both times, something got screwed up on the paperwork or was lost. Both times the sales tactics were borderline aggressive. Both times, I got the feel that they are very rigid about how you are handled, how stuff is documented, and the order they are going to work your party thru dresses, bags, shoes etc The good: Once you jump through the hoops, the staff works with you to find something from their considerable selection. Some of the party was plus-sized and had no issues with finding stuff that fit. All the alterations were done very well. For my wedding, I scored a really classic dress that happened to be on the sale rack, and it was the second one I tried on. I really was not wallowing in all the bridey-stuff and wanted this selection to go fast, and so was thrilled to find something wonderful so quickly. read more

I had made an appointment earlier in the day. I was running slightly behind because of traffic and called to let them know. When I arrived at the store the staff seemed extremely overwhelmed and I was asked if I could wait until a consultant was available. It took about 45 minutes for me to be helped which was a tad frustrating however well worth it. My mother and I worked with Rebecca and she was INCREDIBLE! She listened to exactly what I wanted, did not push to try and sell me on anything and was lovely. I ended up saying Yes to the Dress and I had a ball ringing the bell in celebration! Horrible, horrible first time experience for my daughter's sweet sixteen. My daughter wanted to try David's Bridal to get her sweet sixteen gown. I was against it, but she has been waiting for this experience for most of her childhood, and was sure David's was going to deliver. She was expecting so much more than what she got. I was expecting the minimal and we didn't even get that! First, we were pushed aside for a bridal party without an appointment. And then we were just handed off to some guy after we had to find our own dresses. He showed us to a disgusting room that was full of filth, and then just left us there to so he could go watch the other half dressed women coming in and out of the dressing rooms. When my daughter needed another size, I had to send my youngest daughter to find him and then he gave my youngest a dress to bring back that was 6 sizes smaller than the first one! He didn't even ask me or the one trying on the what we needed. It was an all around crappy time and when I mentioned this to the manager she just said, "oh sorry" and went about doing her business. We took our business to Macy's which, by the way, the prices were cheaper, the quality of dress was better, and even though it was self serve, we had more customer service from two ladies there than from all of the David's Bridal employees put together. read more
