I got my wedding dress from here and the day I was trying on dresses was a dream. They were extremely helpful and kind. However, there was a miscommunication about alterations, and I called to confirm an appointment for my bridesmaids. I was under the impression that alterations through David's Bridal was free. I am completely fine with paying for any alterations because I know that is a lot of work. While on this phone call with an employee she was extremely rude to me and was extremely unprofessional. I have never felt that belittled or attacked. My bridesmaids overheard the conversation with this employee, and they were in utter shock as well. This encounter unfortunately has me questioning if I am comfortable purchasing anything else from David's Bridal. read more

I thought the David's Bridal in St. Louis was sub par, but then I walked into this one. Granted I was only there to get a bridesmaid dress, but the customer service I got was below average. I shouldn't have to find the dress I'm looking for, pull it, and then hunt down a sales person to find out if I can try it on. In fact I'm relatively certain I could have walked out the front door carrying multiple dresses without anyone even noticing I was in the store. Once I finally found an associate, I immediately lost her interest when she found out I was there simply to try the dress on because the bride wasn't ready to have us order until everyone had had a chance to try it. She showed me to a dressing room and then promptly vanished again... no measuring or anything and she never checked back. My mom was with me to possibly look at mother of the groom dresses, but we were so underwhelmed by the "service" and the lack of selection that we gave up on that idea quickly. I can only hope they treat brides going in for their dresses better than they treat the bridesmaids. read more

I had a great experience at David's Bridal in Springfield, IL! Kendra and Tracy are the best! They didn't have the dress I saw online in the curvy sizes yet, but Kendra (my stylist) helped me find dresses similar to the one I ended up ordering to get the idea of the shape on me, and other silhouettes. Tracy (the store manager) was so helpful with the details of ordering in store and what the process will entail once it gets in. I can't wait to go back and try on my dress!! Annie is the best! I am terrible with fashion and dressing up, but she worked wonders. She let me try on the dresses I wanted, and then recommended my favorite! She was super helpful and made me feel be comfortable. I was dreading shopping for my dress until I met Annie. Every dress I liked, she made it better by recommending matching shoes, veils, and belts. I would definitely recommend going to this location and asking for Annie. read more

Went to David's Bridal about a month ago now and, yes, I found my dress! I walked in the door and an associate promptly took my name and information (make an appointment ahead of time, I did and it helped a lot) she assigned a consultant to me and my party and we were off. I wish I could remember her name but she was very helpful and sweet. Tried on about 5 dresses and I found the one. She also helped my bridesmaids find their dresses as well. I was nervous about going here because of the reviews but they must have hired new staff or done other improvements because my experience was an incredible one. read more

I was recently out with some fellow bridesmaids planning the bachelorette party and overheard a current employee from the store bashing her peers and managers from the store. It went on for quite some time. She also said no one likes her there, we can understand why! We didn't realize who she was at first because her hair was different but my friend Lindsey recognized her as the consultant who sized us for our bridesmaids dresses. We are pretty sure her name is Jessica. We were pretty upset by what she was saying about customers too, she called one of her brides an idiot and a mother of the bride a bitch IN PUBLIC. Surely you teach your employees better than to discuss their position so openly and this one is just a bad egg! I wanted you to be aware of this employee and her behavior. As a representative for Davids Bridal I would assume you'd expect your employees to conduct themselves accordingly. You never know when someone is watching and listening! If we need something else I will make sure she has nothing to do with our party because I don't want to be the one she talks about whiles she's out with friends! read more

AMAZING experience!! I was so nervous to try on wedding dresses for the first time and my budget was relatively small ($500-$600). The moment I walked in I was treated with such respect!! I am a young bride but we had so much fun. My stylist was named McKenna and Stephanie was helping with dress accessories. These ladies made my day so special!! My whole party was crying. We definitely found "the one" and it was perfectly in budget. They hooked us up with a beautiful headband and veil after that made me feel like a princess. Kristin at the Springfield (IL) store was friendly and extremely patient with us and delivered some of the best customer service I've experienced in a long time! Before you think, "She must have spent a ton of money to have been given such great service," THINK AGAIN. I have used David's Bridal in California and loved it. So when I came to the Springfield location, as I live in Springfield now, I was very disappointed. I showed the sales person exactly which dresses I wanted. She never once brought me anything close. I had an appointment with her, yet I was not her only bride. After I realized that she was only concerned with making the most commission possible and not providing me the service I expect from David's Bridal I left. I may try another location further away, but I will not use the Springfield location again. read more

My future sis-in-law ordered her dresses from David's Bridal, and they are beautiful. I needed some special alterations or possible dress exchange done due to a certain life and weight change ;-p, and only 8 weeks left til the wedding. Yikes! Tracy, the store manager, was super helpful. She told me not to sweat it. She said I could contact her personally if needed. In the meantime, they would take care of me. I feel that my sister-in-law chose the right bridal shop. I highly recommend David's Bridal. I, especially, recommend coming her on a weekday, when it's less busy. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I went in for my bridesmaid dress with a scheduled appointment and the women that was helping us kept leaving to help with other people that just walked in. Since there was very little customer service that night, we decided to quit and come back later. I went by myself one night to try on a few dresses that were new. When I went in the lady I spoke with on the phone told me to come on in and someone would help me without an appointment. I went in and the manager was in mid-conversation with me about what I was looking for and a woman with her baby walked in and she interrupted the conversation saying "Oh look Laura is here!" Really??? Did I know Laura? Nope! So instead of finishing talking to me about the new styles I was looking for, she pushed me off to someone else. The salesman and I went for dresses and I told him the new styles I wanted to try and he wasn't listening to me at all. Instead he was pulling styles that I already tried on. Once in the fitting room, I needed help getting the zippers on the back up...NO ONE WAS AROUND. I tried on a different dress thinking someone would come check on me...not at all. 20 minutes later, I decided to leave. I found a dress I really liked but I was in no way going to buy a dress from that store! The other bridesmaid that I was with the first time is now getting married and she refused to buy her bridesmaid dress and her wedding dress from there because we were so disgusted with the service. I called the manager of the store and she said she was sorry that she treated me that way. But there was nothing other than that. read more

The store does not carry nearly as many dresses as what you find on the website, but keeping in mind that this is Springfield and not Chicago, I was pleased that we were able to find six to eight dresses that were suitable. The dress the bridesmaids selected was around $100--good value. I was impressed with the variety of colors that can be ordered for the dresses. The real kudos goes to our consultant Rose--she was very patient. Despite the store asking that their clients not run amuck through the store, my bridesmaids and I did just that... a bit chaotic. But Rose was calm, cool, and collected. I was happy with her dress selections. read more

Im not sure if my bridal consultant Jessica was high or just out of her mind but she was the polar opposite of what I was expecting when searching for a wedding dress. Besides that fact that she would leave for 20 mins at a time, tell me I should shop elsewhere, and tell me that the dress I had on reminded her of fiona from Shrek the manager did seem like she was trying to salvage whatever was left of my appointment. I live in Springfield but traveled 30 mins to go to Girls in White Satin where I was treated with respect and like a bride and happily paid double the price of a David's Bridal gown. read more

Amy in alterations at the Springfield Illinois store is absolutely amazing! Having bought my dress over 2 years ago, I went in with my dress not fitting 6 weeks ago and now it looks like a completely different dress and is more than I could ever dream it to be! Amy took all my stress away as soon as we started alterations. She was wonderful for the whole experience, kind, and patient teaching my bridesmaid how to get me in and out of it without riping or hurting anything and how to properly pin everything up. I found my dress tonight! Woo hoo! I made an appointment, had about 5 pictures of styles I liked... And boom! Laci was awesome. Every dress that she pulled looked great on me. She was so good at helping me get in and out of all the dresses and didn't even care that it took 3 tries to get a bra that fit! In the end, I fell in love and bought my dress. She even offered for my 2 bridesmaids to try some dresses on. They found one that was perfect with Laci's help and ended up buying their dresses too! What a successful trip! read more

I have purchased many dresses from this store throughout the years. The manager Tracy has always been very courteous and nice, no matter how busy the store is. I am also an October 2016 bride and I purchased my dress from an AMAZING girl named Jordan. She is no longer there which sucks! Seems like every time I go in it is a different staff (except Tracy) When they are busy it does take awhile to get acknowledged but it goes smooth after we are paired with a consultant. I really have no complaints against this store besides the (seemingly) high turnover rate of employees. On the other hand, I wish I could rate the David's Bridal website! It would get negative stars. It is so difficult to work with, I have tried multiple browsers and they all get very frustrating. read more

My daughter is getting married August 08, and the three times I've been to this Location have all been very positive. My daughter was told that if she wanted to, she could look around and see some styles she may be interested in while she waited for the consultant. They were very patient and courteous even though she didn't make up her mind that day. This made us want to return..and we did. Today, I brought my dress to be altered and Amy, who took my alteration measurements, was very professional and so friendly. She answered any question I had & made me feel very comfortable; as if I knew her for a long time. She walked me through what she was going to do and kindly guided me. Wonderful bridal appointment. I made an appointment and when I went in I was greeted kindly, asked a few questions, and had my stylist assigned to me. Her name was Brittany and she was awesome! She asked what I was looking for and my price range. She explained that they pull 3 dresses at a time as to not get them out of order and then if I didn't like those three after trying them on she would pull three more each time till I found what I wanted. She was wonderful finding everything I needed and made sure I was happy with everything. Definitely recommend this store and stylist! read more

The first time I was at David's Bridal was when I was shopping for my friend's wedding. Service on that day was not extremely good. People were actually quite rude and unhelpful. We were rushed while trying on dresses. When I received my dress (special order) , the zipper was broken, and there was not enough time to order another dress before the wedding. I was dreading going back and trying to return the dress. To my surprise, the ladies who were working that day, Jordan and Kimberly, were extremely helpful and let me exchange the dress. My sister just went wedding dress shopping at David's bridal and all I can say is that it was a disappointing experience. While she did end up finding a dress, the girl helping us was mostly absent and my sister had to dress herself each time. Also when we asked for veils and belts she pointed us to the racks, indicating we could go get them ourselves, instead of her grabbing them. They had SO many brides trying on at once and not enough space or chairs...it was incredibly unorganized. We are happy she found a dress but the whole experience was a mess, and I am engaged and will NOT be going to David's bridal in Springfield for my dress shopping appointments. read more

I had a poor experience here. Shopping as a bride and I had to wait for my room until the consultant was done helping the other girl. (They have tons of rooms). There were employees standing around watching though.. so my friends grabbed a few dresses and I waited. Immediately, the consultant started complaining about how long her day was and that she had worked 8 hours. I felt like saying, "I worked 8 hours too then drove 2 hours here to listen to you complain?" So I start trying on and I gave feedback on what I do and don't like. However, the consultant didn't pull new dresses, just sticks to the rack of a style I've commented I don't like. The real annoying part was that another DB associate tried to step in to help me as the consultant disappeared and when she returned, the consultant commented "stop trying to steal my sales." WHAT? She was no where near getting my business but I was done after that. I've waited 3 weeks hoping David's would send me a survey email, but since I didn't get one, I'm posting here. David's, please coach your employee. read more

Nothing like the personal attention we've found elsewhere. We were pretty much independent. No help with oversized dresses which just clamping or holding them together makes a world of difference. Couldn't tell you if the sales help were knowledgeable as we never saw her unless she came by to sit and take a load off for a few. She was nice though and Iwas infinitely happier to have her than the other grouchy girl that was stomping around complaining about food delivery of some kind. We needed a bra, which created a chaos of not knowing what to do and passing the buck. One was finally brought out. We never saw anyone again to get another type. Left without purchasing one. I'll be going somewhere else to acquire that, which is preferred to get one while getting the dress so I'd know it worked with it. Honestly, the only thing this place has going for it (as far as brides maids is concerned) is that is a national chain and people in other cities can go where they live to get their dress and not all have to travel to one far away place. read more

We took my sister wedding dress shopping last Sunday and were so excited, because it was her first bridal shop experience since getting engaged. The lady who greeted us upon entry was very friendly and told us to go ahead and look for dresses while we waited for our consultant. Because there were so many dresses, we would grab any that stuck out to us, because we didn't know if we'd find it again. When the consultant greeted us, we had 6 dresses that we were interested in. We were promptly scolded for getting dresses and were told that they typically only start with 3. Well first of all, I believe every bride should have their own experience and if she wants to start out with 6 dresses, then it should be okay. Our consultant was not in a good mood and complained to the bride that she was sick. Nothing like being in a small fitting room trying on dresses with someone who claims to be sick. It took forever to get her in and out of each dress. We watched other brides go in and out of the fitting room trying on. When we'd ask for another dress, she'd stop by the front desk and chat before grabbing it. From our perspective, it looked like she was complaining every time we'd send her to the dress section. The bride did end up picking out a dress, but only after 3 hours of the slowest moving consultant that I've ever seen. I understand that people have bad days, but working as bridal consultant, it's their job to make the bride's experience a memorable one. If you are that sick, then you need to take a sick day. I was highly disappointed in her performance. The dress was priced well below our expectations which was wonderful! It fit her beautifully plus we found perfect accessories to compliment the dress and for that reason, I would recommend David's Bridal. I just hope that you get a better, more enthusiastic consultant than we did. read more

I called on a Friday to ask if I would need to make an appointment for Monday. The employee that answered the phone assured me that Mondays were not busy and I would not need an appointment. When I arrived Monday, we stood at the front desk for ~10 minutes and were not greeted, so we wandered around to take a look at dresses. After about 15 minutes of doing that, we were approached by the store manager, who very rudely asked us if we had checked in at the desk. When we told her that we did not (because we could not), she informed us that they were very busy and we should have made an appointment. We told her that I had called several days before and were told we did not need an appointment. She responded very tersely, "Well WHO told you that?" and this went back and forth until she eventually told us to sit at the front desk and wait to be checked in. I was eventually checked in around 10-15 minutes later and assigned an employee that would be helping us. This employee was very pleasant and accommodating to our needs. The manager did not check back in with us at all during the visit, nor did she apologize for her rude behavior. While I am a pretty laid back bride, I know that for some brides, the dress shopping is a major part of their wedding, and I would hate for them to be treated that way, because it could certainly ruin the entire experience. read more

If I could give this review no stars I would. I went wedding dress shopping for the first time here and I regret every moment of it. I was measured and I picked out a few dresses to try on. Everything was going great til the consultant was in the dressing room zipping me up and felt the need to make small talk and asks me if this is my first marriage. My first husband is dead which I do not talk about often but to have to think about him in the exact moment I'm trying on a wedding dress was indescribable. I handled it well, the girl was young and I just thought "let it go and don't ruin this moment." So continue to try on dresses and I felt like I was being talked into a dress that was over my budget and I did not pick out. I felt ganged up on because three employees were saying how great I looked in this dress. So I'm asked if I want a veil, I said sure. The consultant then starts to ask me the length and goes "oh wait, who is going to walk you down the aisle?" So my father died two years ago and the thought of walking down the aisle without my dad is devastating. So I have to stand there in a dress I don't really like and explain that my father has passed away. My maid of honor was speechless at this point and I was done. In the span of thirty minutes during what should be a happy occasion this consultant managed to bring up two of the most horrible events in my life. Thanks David's bridal for ruining my wedding dress shopping experience, because now I don't want to go for fear of being asked those questions. read more

Outstanding Service!! Tiffany, the store manager, noticed my fiancé and I the moment we walked into the store. After approaching us and asking how she can assist, she directed us to some dresses that she believed would be appropriate (helping us of course), based on the information we provided. We browsed the selection but wasn't set on anything in the section. Tiffany said, "Oh, I have the perfect dress for you" and led us to a different section. When we saw the dress, we thought it was beautiful. However, we weren't too sure how it would love on my fiance. But, she tried it on and it was the perfect dress. Tiffany suggested various pieces of jewelry that would look most appropriate. My fiance and I were totally mind blown as she was selective of her very own taste. Tiffany put together a stunning ensemble in just a few minutes by just learning what my fiancé had in mind. She demonstrated was politeness, patience, understanding, an up-beat personality, and most of all she was concerned about what we wanted. I would recommend anyone to shop here - the staff at David's Bridal (especially Tiffany) are truly the best in Springfield, IL. read more

Absolutely hands down THE WORST BRIDAL SHOP IN CENTRAL IL! From the first time I came here to shop for bridal gowns, I was ignored and wasn't treated like a bride. Even though I found a gown I liked here, I was skeptical to purchase it from the store since I had such a poor experience, however, I did, despite my best judgement. Fast forward 8 months and Mavis in alterations completely ruined, RUINED my gown 2 weeks before my wedding!! I'm talking yellow stains, crooked zipper, baggy around the waist, etc. When I asked to speak to a manager, Kimberly was beyond rude, began shaking her head and me, and told me to calm down! Calm down?? I do not have a dress to wear and my wedding is in 2 weeks!!! Thankfully, after raising my voice and demanding a refund, they reluctantly gave me all my money back in full and I took my business to another store. PLEASE DO NOT SHOP HERE! This past Sunday I took my 'Entourage' to Davids Bridal. Shirley at the welcoming desk was very sweet, she prepared me for what to expect from my appointment, she introduced me to many of the staff and to my personal stylist Jordan, I was not set on a certain style so Jordan was exceptional with my requests of not only my own but of my families. I felt there were many styles to choose from, my request was for a dress that was elegant and graceful. Jordan having listened to my every reqest and remark of all the dresses and reactions of my ladies, she picked out the dress I ended up saying "YES" to wearing on my special day!! THANK YOU Jordan for all you help, support, and great personalitily. Amy from alterations was very supportive in my request to possibly add sleeves to a dress that did not already have them, being that I am getting married in April I was not set on a strapless dress. She had many great ideas for alterations at my request and was willing to work with me on any idea I may have to alter my dress to fit my own needs. I stopped in at David's Bridal on Sunday with intention of just looking at and trying on a few dresses. We were greeted at front by a nice lady who said our consultant would be right with us- and she was- a nice young lady named Jordan. Jordan was super friendly and at first found several of the dresses I'd saved online for me to try on. She made sure to ask what I liked and didn't like about each dress to better find other ones that may be a match. She ended up finding the perfect dress and I loved it so much I bought it. She was very upbeat and helpful the whole time, and other consultants who weren't busy stopped by to help and offer their opinions when I asked for them. Everyone was very friendly! The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is I wish they had more to choose from, but, as someone else said, this IS Springfield. All in all a great experience! read more

I scheduled an appointment for alterations, and the woman who made it for me, I think she is one of the seamstresses, was so rude that I almost just canceled and took the dress elsewhere. I kept the appointment only because I had gotten the dress at David's, but the seamstress I met for the appointment ended up not being the woman who scheduled my appointment. Instead I worked with Amy, and she was so sweet and helpful that I'm happy I kept the appointment. I highly recommend requesting her if you need alterations done, and I would definitely go back to work with her again. I would give Amy 5 stars, but I am only leaving 4 for the review because the first woman I talked to was so rude. read more

I have never received such poor service in my life. I feel sorry for any bride or bridal entourage that has to deal with the associate (who I won't name). We found the bridesmaids dresses we wanted and were ready to order; however, we chose to take our business elsewhere. We're not quite sure why bridesmaids are treated any differently than brides, considering they just lost a $1200 sale. By the end of it, we were so fed up we chose to leave. After leaving the store, we ordered all 6 online. Besides the lack of common courtesy, she may need a refresher on customer service. We are pretty easy-to-please people and never complain, as we have all been in the customer service industry for many years. However, I would hate for any bridesmaids (or bride) to have this experience. If she remains on the team, the store may be losing sales left and right. Such a fun experience to be ruined by such a bad apple. read more

My fiancé went here to pick out her wedding dress. She had a fairly pleasant experience throughout trying on dresses and veils. Everything good about the experience ended quickly when she told them she had to make sure with me that the dress was in budget. They stopped talking to her and the two other people with her right afterwards. The customer service after that day continued to decline. We bought the dress and veil because Sara, my fiancé, fell in love with it despite everything. We are paying for our wedding completely so we had to pay for the dress in payments. Any time we came in to pay we were always pushed aside as if we were in the way instead of as a customer paying for something. Unfortunately the story does not end there. She picked up her dress this past weekend and forgot to ask about the veil while she was there. She called today to ask if it was there and just forgot to grab it. The lady on the other end was very short and did not offer any help. All she said was "We will call you when it gets in." No "I can see where the ordering process is at" or "I can transfer you to someone else to better help you". I am frustrated with this process and how poorly my fiancé has been treated. She is a retail manager so she understands the stresses of retail but also knows how to make sure their customers feel important. It is a shame that a BRIDAL store can't make a BRIDE feel special at all. read more
