So im getting married and i needed a dress! Davids Bridal was suggested by a few girls i talked to so i checked it out. I first went to the website and skimmed through the dresses and found plenty of dresses i liked in my price range. I made an appointment online and it was confirmed immediatly via my email and then they called within hours to confirm on the phone. I was helped as soon as i walked in and given a consultant. My consultant was Kalista (sp?) and she was awesome. She wasnt overbearing or pushy and really tried to find things to fit my style i was going for. It took about 10-15 dresses and there were a few i liked but then she came back with a dress that was apparently new to the store and it was PERFECT! I knew it was the one as soon as i saw it on! Most of the dresses i tried were not in my size (2) so i was having to try them on in mostly 6-8's. This one DID come in a 2 so i got to get it and take it home! I am not a froo froo'ey kind of girl and i was terrified this was going to be a horrible experience. It went so smoothe i was actually having fun trying on all these dresses even though some werent what i was looking for. So i had a great experience! read more

I've been to this location twice. Once years ago with a friend who had an amazing experience. I remember me and her mother looking at dresses and ultimately, picking out the wedding dress that she ended up wearing. I have nothing good to say about this recent experience. From the minute we walked in the door, some store associates were standing at the door looking at us strangely and it seemed like they were laughing when we walked in. Whether they were laughing at us or not, it was an uncomfortable way to walk in. Then when my mother and I wanted to walk around the store to take a look at some dresses, we were approached immediately and told we needed to go sit down. Maybe the process has changed from the last time I went in there, I'm not sure. It was definitely an unwelcoming experience. People were so rude for no reason. Made it a very awkward appointment for all of us. Overall, we will NOT be buying a dress from this place. Though we saw some beautiful dresses, I don't have any photos to add as I wasn't sure if we were allowed to take any and already felt like I was in timeout and didn't want to bother asking. read more

I bought a $200 Bridesmaid dress and when I picked it up it was wrinkled as hell. The lady told me there would be a fee to steam it. WTH I just paid $200 and you give me the damn dress like that!! It should have been steamed before I even picked it up. If it wasn't so close to my friends wedding, I would have told her to shove it and get my money back! Avoid this location at all costs!! Since the beginning of my bridal dress journey, I have been dealing with the Frisco and Lewisville locations. I went here as a last resort as it was close to my mom to pick it up after being cleaned. I have a satin dress so of course during my bridals, it picked up every piece of dirt and mud. I dropped it off on March 6th to simply be cleaned and steamed. My mom goes to pick it up today and they hadn't even touched it! They steamed it when my mom got there - it was still hot to the touch. The bottom of my dress, still muddy and stained. There were even a few new stains around the waist from grubby hands. We paid $90 for absolutely nothing. When you walk into this location, its run down, outdated and just filthy. I should've walked out and went to lewisville or frisco but I was in a crunch. My wedding is now 11 days away and my dress hasn't been cleaned. I have emailed corporate and we are trying to find a resolution from this location. I will update if anything is done. read more

She took the time to ensure each layer of the train was lifted and it looks like my dress was made that way when the train is put up. I was waiting to share my thoughts. I waited a week. I had the joy of accompanying a brides maid here and was amazed by the number of cars in the parking lot and shortly upon entering the store I was stunned at the number of ladies getting fitted and purchasing dressing for their special moment or for their love one's special moment. The staff was helpful, prompt, and friendly. The negative rating goes to the management of this franchise. The store was nasty. The chairs were ripped; the carpet was filthy, and the place did not look like a place that sold dresses for formal events with prices ranging from $200 up to the $1000's. I think an experience that requires a formal fitting deserves a classy experience which includes basics such as a clean facility. I hope this location does not reflect the franchises way of serving its customers. Reinvest some of your earnings to clean and upgrade this location. Rhonda and Trina are a God send! Plus size brides these are the ladies you need. After terrible experiences with shops in the area, and a complete mental breakdown. My soon to be sister in law decided to call and not only found these two gems. Bug Rhonda and Trina were gracious enough to pull samples I could try on and CALLED ME BACK! These Ladies CALLED ME BACK 30 minuets before they closed and gave me the item numbers so I could look at them online. Not only was every dress within my price range and available and in stock. These ladies found dress options that were my style. These Ladies need a raise. I have never experienced such great customer service. It is so difficult as a plus sized bride to feel like you have options. And Trina and Rhonda were not only Accommodating, Kind and thoughtful. They shined their light. My day had been filled with tears and was left feeling utterly trampled. But these two woman went out of their way to ensure I felt beautiful and that all of my hopes and dreams of finding the perfect dress would be met. No matter what size of dress I need. These two have so much knowledge and they were so helpful in all things shapewear and dress fittings. Despite the mix up on price the manager, Brittney, was gracious enough to honor the sales price. She presented me with the dresses that I've had in mind and the size that I needed. They were very attentive and understanding of my concerns. I kind of wish for the money you spend in David's Bridal that they would refreshments and children weren't really allowed in the bridal shop they were several kids running through the store I amongst all these beautiful dresses. The only reason that they have one star is because zero is not an option. I bought a dress here a while ago and loved the dress. I brought it in six weeks ago for my fitting and the dress had some issues but they said they could fix them. It would have helped if the alterations lady could speak fluent English, but it still went okay. I came back a week ago to pick up my dress and it still wasn't right. They hadn't even attempted a simple fix that I had told them needed to be done six weeks before. I was frustrated, but they said they could fix it by today (my wedding is in 8 days, but pictures are in 3 days). I paid the expedited fee to rush the dress fix and showed up for my appointment today. Ha! I showed up today, at my appointment time, and the MANAGER did not know where my dress is and did not know about my appointment. After like ten minutes she comes back and tells me that not only have they not done ANY of the alterations that they were supposed to do by today, that the fabric needed is not even at the store. Then she tries to tell me to "calm down" while I'm frustrated that my dress isn't fixed at all and they don't even have the materials needed and they didn't think to tell me before I've driven way out of my way to come to the store with the expectation that I was leaving with my dress. I have pictures in 2.5 days and my dress is in horrible condition and it's all I can do to not start bawling in the store during what should have been a happy occasion. I will NEVER recommend this store to anyone, especially not the alterations department. I was assigned Dontavias.... He was FANTASTIC!!!! Without even asking me, he pulled four of the five dresses I had in my favorites. He was very professional, we had a ball working together. He introduced me to the seamstress, who was very attentive. Every time I walked out in a dress, she was there. If I had a question about the fit of a dress or an alteration, she was "johnny on the spot". I FOUND THE DRESS, said my little prayer and rung the heck out of that bell... I told the lady on the front desk that I was looking something simple and at that moment she said: "go to that area and look for your self because there is nobody who can assist you." When I picked the dresses I liked someone came to me and asked if I really can afford a dress, that makes me feel bad and of course I wanted to leave this store as soon as possible. I was a bridesmaid for my sister in law Saturday, April 30th. I purchased a$160 bridesmaid dress and tried it on in the store. The wedding day came and the dress material was a cheaper quality than the one I tried on. When it came to zipping the dress not only mine but the two other bridesmaid dresses all seemed to get stuck in the same spot and the clasp broke on all as well! Needless to say we had to get the needle, thread, and safety pins out!! My zipper unzipped at the top and bottom leaving the zipper stuck in the middle. I would have accepted if my dress was the only problem but all 3 dresses were horribly made and not worth the $. Davids bridal is a rip off! read more

When I came back at my scheduled appointment time (confirmed in their system) they didn't have my dress ready for 1.5 hours and then when I got home the button on the back fell off and half of the eyelet hook enclosure was missing. This is my original review from may but after hearing from a friend & her experience i decided to repost. I. had a great experience when i originally went in to pick out a dress. I had a girl helping me who was very nice her name was courtney at the davids bridal in mesquite. I loved that experience with her. However when i payed for my dress another associate took over in which i was asked how was i paying?? I paid in full so that i will have no worries at the end of the day & was told my date would be pushed up so that my dress could come in on may 13th which would be my next dress fitting. Well my dress came in on april 20th with a email saying i had 7 days to pick up my dress. I was shocked as to how early my dress came in because honestly i wasnt expecting that. However i made time to go pick it up. May 13 came!! When i first had my dress fitting the dress, they ordered with the size they said i was after measuring me, but this was 2 sizes too big they ordered an 18, well i called them because i never got an email with my appointment date or time. But i called just to verify a time of when my appointment was..shockingly they transferred me all around the store. To which i started thinking OMG they never set my appointment , I was furious with them but still remained calm as to maybe someone misplaced it and its there no!! They straight out told me "no your not scheduled " I replied what?? When i bought my dress in full they gave me this date. What would have happened if i had just showed up. With all my items?? The manager angel only replied well thanks for your feedback. So i took the 11:30 time offered, the next day im getting ready theres traffic so i give them a courtesy call to let them know im running late, the lady then asks can i come at 2pm, i tell her no maam, this was already in my plans to come at 11:30 am . She then asks if i can come at 12:30pm because they are running behind even if i came at 11:30am no one will see me until 12:30pm, I tell her yes thats fine i will come in at that time & thanks for letting me know. I get there i go to the back of the room all acessories ready try on my dress and its too big!!!!! at this point im thinking to myself the lady measured me when i came in & told me i was a size 18 & the size i tried on was a 20 which is way too big to begin with !! So now im thinking what to do?? So the lady who helped me named mrs. Ernestine, After speaking with the seamstress told me it would have to be hemmed & taken in & i would have to pay 170.00 more to get this done. Me and my mother in law look at each other and i ask how much would i have to pay today?? They said full amount. I was like oh no i cant do that, i was told this is my size after me getting measured. All in all i left very disappointed and unhappy with not only the service, the inconvience , but my dress as well im not happy with it i cant wear it & i will be returned ASAP!! They have beautiful dresses but recently when my friend had us get the bridesmaids dresses from David's Bridal I was no happy. The dress was 150... We had to order it online and when I received it and picked up up at the store it was all wrinkled. You would think they would worry about that! The dress also didn't fit! It fit way to big! My friend had called and they offer to fix it for free. It was a different story when I got there! They were charging me 40 plus a rush fee! There was no way I was going to pay that amount of money after having to spend 150 already. I think the worst thing was when the employees didn't bother to keep to themselves. The ladies that would alter the dress were speaking Spanish lucky for me I surprised them with my Spanish. Who ever works the front also was being unprofessional and talking about me I heard her. Really any comments about customers should probably wait till after they leave! End of story go to a Mexican Bazar and have it fix that same day for 5 bucks! read more

I have to say, after reading previous reviews, I was skeptical of my experience at the Mesquite location. HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised at the excellent level of service I received and Dontavius is the best specialist. I'm getting married this year and started my dress shopping last month. One of my previous stops was the David's Bridal on Preston Rd. I had saved six dresses as my "favorites" online and they only had two for me to try on. I really liked one of them, but wasn't quite ready to say "yes to the dress." I finally called around to see which location had another dress I was very interested in trying on, Mesquite was the only location that had it. I reluctantly headed over to Mesquite, just to see if I liked the style in real life. I went in with no appointment and no initial intention of trying it on. The ladies working the appointment table were great and they pulled the dress for me and actually squeezed me in between other appointments and I throughly appreciated their willingness to let me try it on that day, I know this isn't the norm and would encourage you to make an appointment. Working with Dontavius was SPECTACULAR! I had been to three other bridal shops on my quest and this was by far the best experience. I tried the dress on, fell in love and finally said "yes to the dress!" and rang the bell with glee. I can't say enough about a busy Saturday at this location, everyone was wonderful. Updating my previous review, after a few emails with the DM I received a phone call from Amy, the head store manager, she was SUPER helpful from way back when I was buying my dress. She spoke to me in the phone and assured me that everything would be perfect when I went in to get my dress. Fast forward to today when I picked up my dress. I got there an hour early and they took me back immediately. Amy greeted me, followed by Ms. Louisa from alterations. I was then greeted by Ms. Ernestine and all 3 ladies were beyond amzaing!! I had top notch customer care and service. If all visits with alterations were like this, I would highly recommend them to everyone! I had a wonderful experience at this location on 12/14/2014. I didn't have an appointment but the manager on duty found a way to work me in. The management and staff made my group feel extremely welcomed inspite of not having an appointment. Rema was wonderful! She is very patient and actually cares about her guests. My sisters wedding is in Amarillo and she was not ordering a dress at that very minute but wanting to order through her local store so this Store turned us down for measurements for them. I never planned on ever being a bride. It was not something I aspired to be but someone once told me "Want to make God Laugh? Tell him YOUR plans." Boy did he have a good laugh at mine. (No, I'm not knocked up. God just blessed me with the perfect man for me.) I digress, I made my appointment for wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses consultations about a month in advance for a Saturday appointment time. Since I made them online I was expecting to receive a confirmation e-mail but it never came so I had to call ahead a few days and find out what time my appointment really was. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our appointment and was told we were going to have to wait for our exact appointment time to be seen which wasn't a big deal since I had made an appointment. They had my "favorites" list printed and asked me to number my top 5 picks so that we could start there then we were told we could look around but not to pull any wedding dresses off the racks. We made good use of our time scoping out the bridesmaid dresses and all of the accessories they had to offer. When my bridal consultant, Alyssa, arrived she asked me some basic questions. My street size, my theme, my preferred silhouette and my budget. Since I had never planned on being a bride I only knew my size & budget. :-/ I kind of felt sorry for her, she was going to have her hands full. She showed me to my dressing room and asked my bra size. Let's face it, some girls are blessed and some girls are BLESSED! I am naturally BLESSED with 38DDD.... Surprisingly they didn't carry my size bustier. I suggested they go up to a 40DD and see if that would work (Sometimes that works for me). Fortunately it worked well enough. She went and pulled the top 3 looks and each one looked really good on me. My girlfriends OOH and AHHH'd over all of them. I loved them all too. I had almost decided upon the first one I tried on when Alyssa suggested I at least go through my 5 favorites list. She came back and said that one of the ones on my favorites list wasn't available but she brought something else she thought I would like. Looking at the dress I didn't feel like it was 'me', just didn't seem to fit with my idea of what I would look like on my wedding day (The few short months that I've had to come to grips with it). I tried it on, stepped out and literally ever woman on our side of the store froze and turned to look at me. At first I thought UH OH and looked down to make sure I wasn't naked then I looked up into the mirror and I swear I heard the sound of bells ringing across the world! It was STUNNING. My party of friends/family burst into tears and strangers gawked at me with mouths agape and I knew that Alyssa had just made me the most beautify woman in the room with her substituted gown. Alyssa later admitted she had not been doing this very long and I envy the women who will come after me and after she has more experience under her belt because she made a stunning choice for me that made me feel like the queen of the universe. Do not, under any circumstances ever let this location ever do any kind of alterations for you! They will over charge you and try to hide it. I had purchased my dress from the lewisville location and after it came in I tried it on and it fit perfectly. Nothing needed to be altered just needed a bustle. They showed me what styles I could choose and I took pictures of them all. The one I fell in love with is called an under bustle and was told it would cost $50 for my dress. I went into the mesquite location today to have jt bustled and showed them the picture and they got to pinning away. After spending 30 minutes pinning the hem asked if I approved. It looked ok but was way different than the picture. When I went to check out the cost was $115! I paid got in my car and broke down into tears. I called the lewisville location and they encouraged me to go back and tell them I'm not happy and to try and have my money retuned. After another hour and many tears they did refund my money. But they wanted to take out all the pins and tore up all the alteration receipts. And wasn't wanting to give me back any of my transaction receipts. I took my dress back to the lewisville location. Took less than 5 minutes to pin up and looked better. Best part it only cost me $50. After I mentioned this to a few of my bridesmaids they said they had very similar experience with the mesquite location. read more
