The store appeared poorly maintained - the carpet was noticeable dirty, the walls looked unclean, and the restroom was absolutely filthy. I walked in and turned around immediately; it was that bad. If I were the manager at that location, I would be deeply embarrassed by the lack of attention given to the store's appearance and condition. It's clear the cleanliness and customer comfort are not priorities at this location. Even the dresses on display appeared to be dragged across the dirty carpet, leaving the hems dingy and unappealing. I expected a higher standard from a brand like Davise Bridal. Not posting a picture of my dress because my fiancee might see anyway, my mom and I both have had to have alterations with our dresses and it took 2 times rescheduling our dress fittings to finally have it finished. Came here with a friend to shop for a wedding dress. I will start by saying the staff was really friendly and very easy to work with. Our experience was a little disappointing as they didn't have any of the dresses in store that were in the website she was hoping to try on. This is of course not the stores fault or the staffs fault but made it hard to continue to appointment as they didn't have any styles she was interested in. The few dresses she tried on definitely looked like they had seen their time. They were pretty worn down and needed a fresh steam. Even some of the dresses on the mannequins looked like they could use a fresh dry cleaning. Overall the staff was lovely but we didn't find anything we liked and walked away empty handed. read more

My Fiance bought a dress two months ago. When she went back for her fitting, they made her wait 26 minutes in a room until she demanded to know why she was left there waiting. They couldn't find her dress. The one she bought wasn't there. She was calm and rescheduled for a week later. When she showed up for her second fitting, her dress could e found again. This is absolutely outrageously bad service and they've made no attempt to make it up to her. Buying a wedding dress is a special thing for a woman and so far, they've made it a nightmare. We have a third appointment for a fitting tomorrow. She should have asked for her .money back already but I guess we will see what happens. The staff is always new and always under trained, there's always excuses and they NEVER take accountability for their incompetence. I have never written a review for any business before but I have to make sure you other ladies know this is one of the worst places to EVER have your dress altered! Getting your wedding dress and Made of Honors dress is supposed to be one of the best experiences about getting ready for your wedding and they absolutely ruined that for me. We loved getting our dresses and had them alter it as well. Not only are they incredibly expensive but they took forever to do our fitting and the sizing. My Maid of Honor lives and hour and a half away and came up to try her dress on when she was supposed to pick it up and it was ruined. They cut the bottom way too short and her entire shoe was showing, and they forgot to do all the rest of the alterations so it didn't fit. I asked for a refund and the manager said no and set a time to come back. So a week later she had to drink another hour and a half back up and they came out and stated "I'm so sorry, but the dress is not ready"... that could have been a simple phone call to save everyone time. Come to find out they never even started on it. I told them I wanted the dress back to take it somewhere else and I wanted a full refund. They refused to give me a full refund and only gave me half and I took the dress and left. At this point they still had my wedding dress and stated they had not started it yet and I was to pick it up a week before the wedding. We went back and asked for my dress back with a full refund on the alterations since they had not started it yet and they refused to give us the refund. At that point we did not want to eat the cost of $600 and left the dress there. I went to pick it up and they made me wait 45 minutes before I could go back to try it on. They made it so tight to the point I couldn't even zip it as if I didn't stand there for an hour while they pinned it perfectly. They did not apologize and rather made jokes about it and had me take it off. Not to mention the lady standing next to me was sobbing because they originally told her they would have her dress ready in time and then told her it would not be ready for her event. I felt terrible for her. Long story short this was not a bad experience that only I had but that I witnessed multiple people having issues with them. Wish that I would have looked at reviews before choosing to go with this company for my bridesmaid dresses. I have yet to have a good experience in this store where I was greeted when I came in or not double booked for an appointment. One of my bridesmaids was told to size up in her dress because "it would make alterations easier" but really what it does is double the alteration fee. I dealt with Chelsea the manager and got nowhere. She offered to give 10% back which would basically just cover the tax my bridesmaid paid for a dress that was sold to her in the wrong size. I also contacted customer service and got nowhere. Only win is that my bridesmaids know now not to use this company for anything with their weddings. EDIT: adding to this because I just saw 7 days ago a very similar review to mine was posted. Clearly this is a common location problem that starts with the leadership of this location. My brother planned a summer wedding without a lot of notice and asked my sister and I to participate about a month in advance. We shopped everywhere and finally found a few dresses on the rack at David's Bridal that worked, but they had makeup and a few spots where it was obvious others had tried them on. We politely asked if they could clean them and they said no problem and would call us when they were ready. Fast forward 2 weeks. No call yet. I called to ask if they were ready and they said they would be ready by 5:30pm. I came to pick them up and they asked if I could wait 10 more minutes!! Seriously, you've had 2 weeks to clean them and I still haven't even had mine altered. The wedding is next week!! Finally got the dresses and the alarm went off while leaving the store!! David's Bridal - it's great that you treat people with weddings a year away with respect, but maybe realize that other customers deserve a few minutes of care also!!! read more

My experience here from the 1st time went downhill. So, I bought my dress from them and decided to get it altered. The lady in charge of alterations was nice but the delivery... absolutely opposite. It was horrible and unacceptable. My dress was still missing 4 buttons when time of pick up and it was supposed to be replaced with new buttons. My wedding was the very next day. We called them about this horrible incident but they kept putting us off and saying they're going to call back..call them again and they keep saying they're going to call back again!! Now it has been almost 2 wks and nothing has been done. Terrible customer service when trying to tell them that their products they delivered were defective. Hundreds of dollars put into the dress but it turned out horrible. This ruin a wedding and made me seem like a joke. read more

I had reservations about coming to David's based on the scorching reviews on yelp. My girlfriend talked me into it and I was glad she did. I received nothing but VIP service from every person I came in contact with starting with Day 1 at my initial appointment. Anna helped me and she was great. She was quick to bring out the dresses I picked out in advance online, as well as suggesting different dresses I hadn't thought about. I found my dress fairly quickly, about 45 minutes. My second appointment, one month later, was for the fitting and again - nothing but exceptional service. I feel terrible that I forgot her name but she was very courteous, professional and had a good sense of humor, which is not easy at the end of the day. My third and final visit, to pick up my dress was, again, easy breezy and pleasant! The only caveat I have is they called me 2 weeks after my dress came in to tell me to pick it up. I had been under the impression that I only needed to show up again when it was time for my fitting. They agreed to allow it to stay there until my next appointment, but a week later I received another call to pick up my dress. She apologized profusely and said she'd make a note that was clear that I have a scheduled fitting and it could remain there, rather than being hauled back and forth in the interim. I think this is just a communication issue - I would have been fine if it were explained to me in advance. All in all, I highly recommend David's Bridal for the selection and service! read more

My bridesmaid ordered a dress and it took David's Bridal 59 days to deliver it to her in the mail. Upon trying it on at her house, it did not fit (several sizes off). This is odd considering she was measured and fitted at David's Bridal and we ordered it in store. She brought the dress in to ask about her options. They told her she was past the 60 day return/exchange limit and there was nothing they could do. She explained that she had just gotten it in the mail and the response was "it's company policy, sorry". She was told her options were to do alterations or to buy a new one in a different size (at full price) and hope it comes in time. I understand the sales person cannot change company policy, but if the company takes 59 days to send a dress in the mail, maybe reconsider a 60 day return/exchange policy. As a bride, I have had more issues with my bridesmaids dresses at David's Bridal than any other part of my wedding. It has been constant issues and people getting wrong sizes and pushiness for their alterations instead of fixing mistakes they made. Please consider using an online store or another bridal shop, don't make the same mistake I did! read more

Kennedy offered different options of how to style and use accessories for my dress and I ended up buying a belt that went perfectly with my vision. Lenexa, Kansas location - Huge disappointment! Don't waste your time at this store. I have gone to the David's Bridal in St. Louis and in Chicago for all of my formal wear for past several years. Always had appointments and amazing help. Since we were visiting our daughter for Thanksgiving, she made a "Mother of the Bride/Groom" appointment at the Lenexa, KS location. I arrived at the appointment time and stood at front counter for five minutes waiting for someone. I then walked to another counter where I saw two employees. They both clearly saw me but made no effort to ask if I needed help. Finally a third employee came up front and asked if she could help. She checked me in and said a stylist would be up to help me in "a moment". That never happened. My daughter and I got help from another CUSTOMER while waiting for the stylist who never appeared. When I went back to the counter to see where stylist was, I was then informed by another employee that they don't do reservations for the mothers - only the brides. This is after I had supposedly checked in. Gave up and just walked out. Later in evening I received a call from the store wanting to know if I wanted to reschedule since I didn't show up for my appointment. Pathetic! Obviously, I won't go back to this location and would never recommend them. read more

For all the brides out there, this store trades on your happiness and excitement to take all of your information and sell to third parties. Of course, they are 'helpful,' aren't all bridal stores? But watch out when you pay. You can't even purchase a simple bride's maid dress without giving them all of your personal information. Then, if you want the posted prices around the store you have to sign up for more identity theft. "It's free." This is never free, it costs you divulging you personal information. We left with nothing but a headache and disappointment. I strongly discourage anyone from patronizing this place. She even found us a clearance veil that was better than the first one I had on. The reason I did a 4 star was not because of the customer service- their ac wasn't working so it was very hot. Trying on dresses in the heat is not very fun. The rooms are so small like you cant even move around when you have multiple wedding dresses hanging in the room. Took my family member here today to find a dress. Upon arrival to our appt we were told her goal was to get us out of there in 30 min with a dress. Then we were told we had 5 minutes to find 3-5 dresses she liked. We were completely overwhelmed and felt rushed from the get go. She brought 1 other dress for a suggestion. By the end of trying on our selection, she pushes that the dress we liked the most would not arrive by the wedding in 3 months. But we could buy the HEAVILY USED floor sample for $200 off. Then began the heavy - you have to buy today BS, sealed pitch. We left. We got in the car and found her exact dress could be bought online from David's and would be delivered to us in FIVE days. Brand new and plenty of time for alterations. We were incredibly upset that the sales rep had lied to us and put so much pressure/hurry up such a special occasion. read more

The manager here is unbelievable. I purchased a beautiful dress at full price and came in later to speak with the manger because I believed I had been overcharged. I found the same dress on their online sale for $50, way less than I paid in store. When I came in, I spoke with a kind salesperson who tried to solve my issue. She told me I'd need to talk to a manager. The manager, as well as 3 other staff members, were standing less than 20 feet away chatting together. When she went to get the manager, she refused to speak with me. The salesperson was stuck in the middle. She suggested I try another store. Steer clear of the attitude here. I cannot say enough about how helpful Assistant Store Manager, Nikki Zarazee was when we had a crisis. We had picked out the perfect dress for my oldest daughter's wedding and when it arrived we went to have it altered and the person who had helped pick out the dress had chosen a size that left no room for alterations at all so it did not fit my daughter. The seamstress was not very compassionate (and has since left I was told) and said there was nothing that could be done that she had to pick another dress and start from scratch. Nikki swooped in and scoured the inventory online and ordered a size larger and swapped the two dressed out with no question. She was very pleasant to work with and it turned what could have been a disaster into a victory! There was still plenty of time to get the dress altered (although it just needed minor alterations and the bustle added) before the wedding. We were not looking forward to having to look for another dress with such short notice and when the seamstress said there was nothing to be done about it we were devastated. My daughter was literally in tears. The dress got so many compliments from everyone at the wedding and it really was just perfect for my daughter. We were so happy with the whole experience! When she had the appointment and found the dress the person who helped her (I am sorry I cannot remember her name) was very pleasant and make the whole process very easy. read more

When I came here to look for my wedding dress prior to coming I set up an appointment so they would be expecting me and I would get the right amount of attention it takes to help a bride find what she's looking for. That was the complete opposite of what I got. My family and I were given a corner changing room the lady who was supposed to accompany me was elsewhere helping another family, I got zero attention I went out on the floor to find dresses which was a somewhat difficult task to do because I had no idea where to start or what I was even looking for! . I also Got no help on how to assemble a dress. I felt irrelevant and unimportant almost as if they felt I wasn't seriously going to buy a dress like I was just trying on for fun? I had a really good experience with Krystal and the other staff. It was easy to make my appointments and everyone was very helpful. I went in three different times after scouring the David's Bridal website for months, looking at hundreds of dresses online. I knew I wanted to buy a special dress for my "elopement" but I realized I'm not a wedding dress person about six months into planning. However, I tried on some beautiful gowns. I also gained some Winter weight (okay Summer and Fall weight too) and I found "the one" specifically because it didn't have all the bells and whistles. It's amazing and Krystal is SO cool and was such a peach when helping me experiment with different looks. She is good at her job, very personable and there was no pressure. I got a simple but modern dress. I looked at literally every single piece of fabric on display, until eventually picking out a Meghan Markle look (I didn't post the full dress so it can still be a surprise). Eek! Methinks not is correct. What an odd place. Basically, take anything you know about how to shop for clothes for yourself and erase that. As soon as I walked in I was asked my age, name, phone number, if I was a bride, when the wedding was, (50 questions). Good Lord. As soon as I started looking at dresses I realized the quality was something to be desired. The colors were off and the fashions seemed a little dated. Also, the selection was kind of slim. Later on I shared my David's Bridal experience with other friends and everyone I talked about them told me their dress had ripped in one way or another at the actual wedding. This is the Walmart of bridal shops....everyone does it, everyone comes here, they are opened the most hours and are on the cheaper end for the whole wedding biz. Some of their things are cute but the lack on service. I feel like they're trying to up sell everything, as in, instead of saying hey why don't you get some spanx they'll say get a bigger size and pay use 4 arms and a leg in alterations. I feel like they need to train the associates more on customer service than trying to get people in and out. I know they sell plenty they should also hire more or put more people on the schedule to cover the store, I feel like it's always busy here and there's not enough help. read more

I had my bridal appointment on the 15th of February, Jamie was my consultant. All I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you. She was amazing with me. I came in with an idea of what I thought I wanted and she brought me exactly that. What blew me away was she knew by how I reacted from the dress that something was missing with the style I chose. She asked me all the right questions, and we kept looking for the perfect dress. She talked me through every alteration that we could do to make those dresses work. Came here to find a prom dress, and I was out with my dress within an hour! The ladies there were very helpful. It was an easy shopping experience, and the prices are pretty reasonable. I would definitely recommend to anyone in search of a prom or homecoming dress!!!! This is what my wife went through 1st time in: waited over an hour with appt and had book thrown at us and our helper started helping other people 2nd time in: the three dresses I narrowed down to were sold out from under me and I was not informed of the procedures and policies 3rd time in: they ordered the wrong color dress (ivory instead of white) so now I have to wait 13 weeks and have alterations done at last min. 4th time in: they ordered wrong size on one of flower girls dresses. Hope we can get the right dress before our wedding. When she has called them at the store they tell her they are the store manager. When she would call the next day the same lady told her she would get the store manager. So they will say whatever they half to to end the conversation. read more

Just finished purchasing our bridesmaids dresses! Meghan R. was super helpful! She took us over to a style chart, we picked out the styles we liked and she jotted each down, got our sizes and names and set us up in our rooms. There's 6 of us and we are all very loud and opinionated and she managed to keep everything sweet and super organized! She answered all our questions and was really fast fetching dresses. She even let us stay over our appt time because the store was a bit slow at the time and we really needed the extra time! The store though needs better lighting, we all felt we looked harsh in the mirrors and it was hard to choose colors based on the fluorescent hue. Other than that everything was great! read more

This was honestly the worst experience I have ever encountered. We had Allie and she was very unprofessional in numerous ways. To make things worse, when we were trying to get clarification on specifics about different dresses, she became extremely defense and started making snarky comments. We were told the dress sizes we were looking for were not in stock, and then five minutes later when searching online on David's bridal, every size was available. All consultants responses were that the online store and actual store were two different entities so they had no way to see this- obviously a complete lie. I would not recommend this store at all. I am the bride and I'm incredibly embarrassed in front of my bridesmaids.
