My…read morefriend who was searching for her wedding dress landed here after being told what she envisioned didn't exist and she should just get a white bridesmaid's dress. The dress that ended up catching her eye was part of the Mori Lee Blue line, which Ethos carries as well. After making an appointment at Ethos to try on that particular dress which ended in disaster, she found that Jessica Bridal also carried the line and style she was looking for. She made her appointment and as one of her faithful bridesmaids we followed her into the wedding den. As we took off our shoes, the bride-to-be was greeted by her consultant, who was lovely. She never pressured the bride on the purchase and us as bridesmaids were not being ushered into fittings rooms to try on dresses as well. We got to take our time which was so important, I hate being rushed! The shop can accommodate max 5 different appointments at once, with their 5 fitting rooms. When we were there, a girl was searching for her grad dress and another bride came in as we were nearing the end of our time there. I love how this doesn't feel like a bridal factory, where people are being churned out of rooms faster then you can say "organza". The trip back for the bride's fitting was also great as one of the other bridesmaids ended up being 40 minutes late. They let us hang about and have her parade around in her wedding dress throughout the store. The alterations they did were great and the best part was the dress she got was cheaper here than at Ethos! If you are in the wedding or grad dress market, stop by Jessica Bridal, chances are they have something you will love that won't break your budget with a staff that are genuinely nice! To make things worse I had exactly two months until my wedding! I chose to visit Jessica Bridal first based on the reviews here on Yelp and I;m sure glad I did! We were greeted right away by Alaina who said we were fine to shop without an appointment. She informed me that because my date was so soon I would not be able to order anything in and would have to stick to dresses that were already in store in my size. I already knew this would be necessary. Alaina was very knowledgable about the extent to which certain dresses could be altered to fit me if they were a bit too big or small on the rack. She asked me what styles I had in mind and since I didn't really know what I wanted she offered to pull a few styles to get me started. She also told my mom and I to go ahead and pull any dresses we wanted to try, which was nice. Alaina really made the experience great! She was there to zip/lace/button up every dress and made lots of helpful suggestions about alterations and flattering styles, but wasn't pushy or gushy at all. She was very patient and made me feel like I had all the time in the world to try on dresses. And not once did she suggest a dress that was over my budget. I ended up finding "the" dress with her help, even though it was not at all what I imagined myself in! But I love it! I highly recommend booking an appointment with Alaina!

For 50 minutes we looked through, trying on dresses, and having questions but no one came back to check on us to see if we perhaps needed a hand. Then one of the associates came to tell us they had two more appointments and we needed to leave basically. That was fine but we really wanted one of the dresses, and it had zero information attached. No tag, no price, nothing. I asked if we could have the information and was told they didn't have time to give it to me. I asked if they had an idea on the price of the dress and was told no, they would take my name and number and call me once they were finished with appointments. So I pull over and call back and no answer. What a headache and waste of time.

I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment on an early Tuesday afternoon. As soon as I arrived, I was promptly greeted by a consultant and the owner. The consultant led me to the back and started asking me about my budget and my preferences before leading me to the dresses. She explained they were divided by designer, and encouraged me to pick out some dresses that I liked. She also went around and picked out some recommendations that she thought I would like. I mentioned I wanted to stay under $2500, but that I could be flexible if I found a dress I really loved. She was very respectful of my price point, and brought a significant number of dresses I liked. I'm the kind of person who likes to try on almost everything, if only to eliminate dresses. I must have tried on over a dozen dress, and the consultant was very helpful and patient. She was kind, and made me feel very comfortable. The only reason I am not giving C&C 5 stars is because she had to take care of a customer over the phone for upwards of 20 minutes, leaving me alone in my dressing room. The owner was taking care of another customer, so I sat in on the other appointment and became friends with the bride (haha). I think the situation could have been better handled if she delegated me to the owner, so the owner could make sure that I was doing ok (while keeping her focus on her first bride). The consultant was very apologetic though. I DID wind up finding the perfect dress at HALF my budget ($1300), and I never felt hurried or pressured into a dress. Despite the phone call, this was definitely the best service I experienced, and I have been to 5 or 6 different stores in the Calgary area. I do strongly recommend Cameo & Cufflinks because when the consultant was around, the service was exceptional. Based on what I said I wanted they were able to pull lots of dresses similar and within my budget (under $2000). We actually sat and talked about what I wanted and they have suggestions, being a first time bride every other place was a bit overwhelming when I was told to just start picking. The lay out was awesome! I loved that the dressing rooms were a bit more private. The staff stayed close by to help me zip up. I felt like VIP even though we didn't pay for the VIP treatment (which is super cheap compared to other places I looked) Once I decided on a dress, I had a few alterations I wanted to see ie sleeves, veils etc, we tried a lot of options and when things didn't look right they helped to explain why, rather than just trying to say the right thing. The honesty is a appreciated as so many other places tell you that you look awesome to make an extra buck. This consultant was unenthused and you could tell she just hated her life. I have had much better retail experience and customer service at the Gap. My experience at Davids Bridal wasn't very pleasant. I am the bride to be so picking out a wedding dress is supposed to be special and you are supposed to feel special while being helped. My appointment was supposed to be longer but I was rushed and it took 20 minutes. 1) I understand that appointments run late but mine was very late and was told to look at dresses while waiting (no big deal). As soon as I was greeted I was told to keep looking and I told her that I'm unsure of prices and this is my price range etc. She still insisted I kept looking without her help. I chose a couple dresses to try on. I wasn't in awe with any of the dresses. I needed help looking for certain styles but I was still told to look by myself. 2) she put me in the dressing room and kept disappearing. I was very squished up with the people around me and couldn't see the dresses I was trying on properly. She didn't seem to care and almost seemed as if I was being rushed out. I told her I kind of liked the first dress I tried on and it was fairly cheap. All of a sudden she comes to my room and hands me a bell to ring if I am purchasing the dress. I haven't even decided at this point. The dress was way to big on me anyway and she said I would have to order it in a different size from Edmonton. She told me most girls don't get that wow feeling when they buy the dress and it's normal so I purchased it. 3) The dress came from Edmonton. I tried it on in the size she said would fit me based on my measurements. She was quite wrong and I felt horrible in the dress. I slept on the thought of the dress and a week later I called to tell them that I was not happy with the dress or my experience. So I was told that I could come back and do an exchange for a different dress or other items just no returns. 4) I called to double check because I was heading in the store to do exchanges. The lady on the phone told me that I am pretty much lying cause no manger would approve of that (even though she did) and that it would not be happening. She wasn't very nice to me or my grandmother. After I asked to speak to someone higher she decided to let me do the exchange. 5) I got in there and no help was received again. I decided I would never exchange for another dress with the service I got!!! So I exchanged my dress for the bridal party gifts. At the till the lady grabbed the box from my hands slammed it on the counter and started ringing in my items in exchange and was clearly unhappy. Threw my new items in the box and said here, goodbye. Brides, save yourself the heart ache and stress and put your money else where. read more

The services that I received from David's Bridal were beyond disappointing. I purchased my wedding dress the first week of January and was told it would be in around April 10th. That worked out perfectly because I am living out of town until the end of April and I would not have a way to pick it up before then. They told me they would be able to hold on to it for me until I move back, I received a phone call the first week of February saying my wedding dress was ready to be picked up. I said I would not be able to pick it up until I moved back in April. I was told that this is not possible and I would need to pick it up within two weeks. Since I had nobody that could pick it up for me, I had to get it shipped. The person then took all my information, and visa number and told me that it would be shipped in a day or two and I would receive a call telling me that it has been shipped. I did not get a call so I called them back 5 days later. The person who answered said they could not find my name in the system and would call back that night (never got a call back). I had to call again the next day and the lady told me that my dress had not even been shipped, so I had to give my information all over again. I wanted to make sure that I would require a signature when my dress arrived and I was told that David's Bridal ships with UPS and I would need to sign for it. Two days later I arrive home at 4:45pm to find that my wedding dress is sitting on the front step of my house, I received an email from UPS tracking saying it was dropped off at 9:15 am (sitting outside for 7.5 hours). My dress didn't even come in the proper garment bag, and I was not offered to buy one before it was shipped. During this whole time, I was only offered apologies and the manager said that she would look into UPS's policy around this. Nothing was offered to make up for the poor services that I have received from them thus far. I understand that they need to give you an estimated date for when your dress is expected to arrive but I also believe that this situation was handled very poorly and unprofessionally. I would highly recommend that you think twice about shopping at David's Bridal. read more

Exceptional experience at David's Bridal! I purchased a bridesmaid's dress a couple months ago and picked it up last week. Was an extremely simple and friendly experience from start-to-finish. First I did an online search, found a few styles I liked and called the store. The lady I spoke with asked when I would be coming and pre-selected the dresses I liked and a couple extra. Went in, tried on some dresses that were pre-prepared for me based on the information I provided and even tried a few more options that she recommended. All options were really good, the ladies helped select a color match and even gave me a swatch to double-check with the bride in Montreal. Alas, selected the perfect color dress on their recommendations. Was fitted very well based on my measurements but was told may need to have alterations and to give a little time before my sister-in-law's big day. Ordered and was received it little earlier than anticipated. Was inexpensive and fantastic quality! Was pleasantly surprised that it fit like a glove, no alterations needed. A stunning, flattering, quality gown that went beyond my expectations and the service from the ladies was outstanding! Added bonus it cost less than $200 total, the ladies in Montreal paid over $800 for their dresses at another store and a lower quality with a number of issues. None of them have their dresses yet let alone altered. I feel so fortunate. Special thanks to manager Danielle who provided service that went above and beyond, couldn't ask for more! Would highly recommend to anyone and everyone!! read more

This was the first bridal boutique I visited on the quest for the dress. The selection and prices were great, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Booking an appointment was easy to do online, and the associates were prompt and helpful when my mom and I arrived. I had a clear vision of what I was looking for, and we had arrived a bit early to browse through the dresses before my consult. The associate, Amy, was kind, efficient, and helpful. She listened to what my vision was for the wedding and what sort of dress I was hoping to find. She encouraged me to try on a few different styles and asked guiding questions after each dress I tried on. When we began narrowing down the options, Amy was quick to bring the whole look to life by adding jewelry, shoes, veil etc. to help me better envision what I will look like on the day. These little things made all the difference and I was able to find my dress! The experience was effortless, time efficient, and memorable. My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would recommend going to see Amy at David's Bridal in Calgary if you're looking for a gorgeous, but budget friendly, gown for your wedding day! read more

After reading the reviews on this site, I was prepared for a terrible customer service experience - but I got the exact opposite. While my appointment was going on, three other consultants also stopped by and told me how beautiful I looked and offered their opinions.
