After having had a horrible experience at another store (The Bridal Boutique), and deciding not to buy a dress I LOVED because the service was so bad, the service at C&C was a welcome change. I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment on an early Tuesday afternoon. As soon as I arrived, I was promptly greeted by a consultant and the owner. The consultant led me to the back and started asking me about my budget and my preferences before leading me to the dresses. She explained they were divided by designer, and encouraged me to pick out some dresses that I liked. She also went around and picked out some recommendations that she thought I would like. I mentioned I wanted to stay under $2500, but that I could be flexible if I found a dress I really loved. She was very respectful of my price point, and brought a significant number of dresses I liked. I'm the kind of person who likes to try on almost everything, if only to eliminate dresses. I must have tried on over a dozen dress, and the consultant was very helpful and patient. She was kind, and made me feel very comfortable. The only reason I am not giving C&C 5 stars is because she had to take care of a customer over the phone for upwards of 20 minutes, leaving me alone in my dressing room. The owner was taking care of another customer, so I sat in on the other appointment and became friends with the bride (haha). I think the situation could have been better handled if she delegated me to the owner, so the owner could make sure that I was doing ok (while keeping her focus on her first bride). The consultant was very apologetic though. I DID wind up finding the perfect dress at HALF my budget ($1300), and I never felt hurried or pressured into a dress. Despite the phone call, this was definitely the best service I experienced, and I have been to 5 or 6 different stores in the Calgary area. I do strongly recommend Cameo & Cufflinks because when the consultant was around, the service was exceptional. Although their selection is on the smaller side, the dresses are all beautiful with a wide variety of price points and silhouettes. read more

I went to Cameo and Cufflinks to shop for bridesmaids dresses which you do not need an appointment for. We walked in and were greeted by a very nice woman at the front who showed us where the dresses were. The dress selection and colour variety were very nice, but all the sample sizes were very very small. My sister could only try on a fraction of the dresses we wanted to see. We were virtually alone for most of the time we were there and had to guess at which change rooms we could use, and I can't decide if the one girl we talked to was being purposefully unhelpful or just didn't hear us correctly. I realize that most of these problems I've brought up may be completely irrelevant if I was a bride with an appointment, so I don't think it should dissuade anyone from checking it out. All in all, nice dresses, cold atmosphere. But on the plus side there's a kickass record store next door! read more

I started my dress shopping very early for my sept 2016 wedding. Living in edmonton I started at all the boutique shops in west Ed mall, David's, posh shops, you name it. Cameo and cuff links was the only place in the province that carried a dress similar to what I wanted. I called my maid of honour and we made the trip south. As soon as I walked in the building i knew I made the right choice. The customer service girls were awesome! Based on what I said I wanted they were able to pull lots of dresses similar and within my budget (under $2000). We actually sat and talked about what I wanted and they have suggestions, being a first time bride every other place was a bit overwhelming when I was told to just start picking. The lay out was awesome! I loved that the dressing rooms were a bit more private. The staff stayed close by to help me zip up. I felt like VIP even though we didn't pay for the VIP treatment (which is super cheap compared to other places I looked) Once I decided on a dress, I had a few alterations I wanted to see ie sleeves, veils etc, we tried a lot of options and when things didn't look right they helped to explain why, rather than just trying to say the right thing. The honesty is a appreciated as so many other places tell you that you look awesome to make an extra buck. I am so happy I made te trip to buy my dress and can't wait to go back and pick it up with the rest of the girls, and when we do we will probably splurge for the VIP just to get the champagne ;) read more

Overall, I had a good experience at Cameo and Cufflinks. I came in to look at bridal gowns and called in advance letting them know that I wanted to look to get an idea but didn't need to try on. They had no problem with it. The staff are very one-on-one with their customers so the appointments are necessary as brides to be will always need help getting in and out of gowns. Most of the bridal gown stock are high end designer with high price tags. I ended up coming back with my bridesmaid for her dress. Nicole and Daria were very helpful with the logistics of getting the bridesmaid dress in on time before I headed out to my destination wedding. Excellent customer service. read more

We are getting married July 27, 2019 and ordered a Junior Bridesmaid dress on April 20,2019. The sales lady stated that in order for us to get the dress by mid July we would have to Super Rush it which was an additional $60 to a $300 dress. I found this strange as I was previously told 8 weeks would be more than adequate for a junior bridesmaid dress and we were there 12 weeks in advance to place the order. However, we needed the dress so of course I paid the extra fee. Imagine my surprise when the dress got in 2 weeks later! That's right it only took 2 weeks! This was more along the lines of what I was told at previous appointments. I feel like I was taken advantage of!! They prayed on my sensitivity to timing to extract additional fees I should not have had to incur. Of course when I spoke to them when I picked up the dress I was told there is nothing they could do and I would have to wait until Tuesday if I wanted to speak to a manager. I ended up visiting Cameo & Cufflinks while looking for a bridal gown for my wedding. I had read on the bridal forums that they were good with larger sizes as I wanted more from my experience than holding up a dress I could never try on. They had a wide variety of samples in different sizes and carry a line call Callista which was designed for and on curvier women - hurray! They know larger busted women can't get strapless bras past a certain size and some of the dresses could work with a good fitting and supportive bra which is something I didn't see a lot of out there in bridal land while staying chic and sexy. I found the line very well fitted except styles fitted in the hips (where I don't have the curves personally but I'm sure it would nice on women that are gifted there). Before wedding shopping I had watched a lot of "Say Yes To The Dress" and related shows. Although I knew service was a key feature to why brides flew into the city for the store in the show for dresses and the price tags were a lot larger than I hoped to spend so I had a bit of realism about what I was getting into. Yet I was a bit taken back in my first visits out for dresses to other places. Other places, I have gotten better service in a regular clothing store trying on $40 shirts than I was getting with wedding dresses. Consultants with little knowledge, that ran off to help others and weren't able to translate what I liked/didn't into the next sample or were they just confusing me with someone else? C&C was a little bit more like the shows picture the experience. I was there on a weeknight and it wasn't that busy so it might be different on a Saturday. I had a personalized consultant. She really knew her dresses. She listened to me. She took her time. She told me later she wasn't commission and I could see that looking back. The atmosphere was nice and elegant. I felt special being there. The lighting was terrible halogens but my consultant even lead me to another area with different lighting and angles to look at my favorite. She let me sit down in the dress to check it for comfort and she stood by while I took pictures to send my mom because I didn't have her with me that night and was ready to buy by the end of my session and did want her input first. I had given a budget and said I'd prefer to pay less - which she totally got when others constantly provided top 80% of my budget dresses. She brought me some dresses in the upper part of my budget but even after I was really loving one, she still brought me some cheaper dresses just encase I felt amourous and could save a bit. Another consultant stepped in and helped a couple times - gave some advice which was very honest. When I came up with a wacky alteration that would have been bad that was shut down - they weren't just in it for the sale from my opinion and I think many other places don't share that. Obviously they are still a business... but one I felt good purchasing a high ticket item from. I did not have a great experience at Cameo and Cufflinks. I got there an hour early before appointment since I finished my previous fitting at Ethos earlier than expected. C&C were kind enough to promptly set me up with a consultant and a fitting room. I told her my budget was $1500-2000 and that's when things started going downhill. The consultant led myself and the bridesmaids to the dresses and told us they were sectioned off by price. She gestured with her hands a foot of space among their many racks of dresses that were "within my price range". She didn't ask what kind of design I was looking for, material, or if I wanted a veil. She simply left us to pick and grab. She was courteous but was not friendly or helpful. She didn't seem like she wanted to be there and was silent throughout the entire fitting. I noticed a different consultant was more involved and helpful to another bride than the one helping me. The fitting area is dark with dimmed lights. As I was trying on dresses, I asked the consultant how long she had been in this line of work. She answered 3 months, which I thought was a pretty short amount of time. I asked her what she did before C&C and she used to do drafting at an oil and gas company but got laid off. I guess that explained why she was so indifferent and incompetent. The last dress I tried on was a fitted style but was too big for me. The lace and beadwork were gorgeous but the dress was 5 sizes bigger than me. I'm a size 4-6. There was too much material for the clips to secure so the dress kept falling down even with the maximum number of clips. I thought C&C should've had different sizes of every design, I mean, that's what most bridal stores do. Even David's Bridal does that. I really couldn't tell what it was supposed to look like since there was so much material. I left the store without saying yes to the dress and received an email from C&C a week later. They thanked me for going in (a nice gesture) and attached the catalogue image of my favorite dress in case "the pictures I took did not do it justice". Nice advertising move, Cameo, since you already know your store doesn't give the dress justice. Would I recommend C&C? Nope. read more

We definitely picked the wrong day to come here. It was a Saturday and they were short staffed. The girl helping us had to remind me of that over and over. Anyways, I liked their change room viewing room. All semi-private with lots of bright lights but the rug in there was filthy. It's black so it picked up every fiber in the place but it looked awful. I didn't find my dress there but it was very busy so I'm sure they do well. read more

I have to give Cameo 2 stars because I had a pleasant shopping experience when I tried on / selected my wedding dress. My consultant and the other staff were great. Me and my girls were permitted to drink champagne and eat cookies during the appointment, which made everything that much more fun. However, I want to give them 0-1 stars for the experience following that. While the woman doing the alterations did a good job, and my dress fit well, in the end, the experience was pretty awful. Firstly the main staff member greeting me at the door had her baby in tow. While I can ogle over a cute baby as much as the next woman, I really thought this took away a lot of professionalism and completely shifted her attention away form the brides who were present. There was also a change blanket set up on one of the fitting room platforms which struck me as very unprofessional. My sister accompanied me to the appointment and had her 7 month old. When she asked where to change her baby, the staff responded she could use the change blanket which was already there. I mean, baby poop right next to multiple thousand dollar dresses - it is just poor form. My sister kindly excused herself to the bathroom and agreed with my opinion on this matter. My mom had to help me into my dress, as no staff was available to help. I felt largely ignored by all staff, except the seamstress, who herself was very quiet and did not seem very receptive to my concerns regarding the fit. One further issue, the staff did not communicate with me well about the number of fittings, and what to expect at each fitting. Fitting #2 I showed up and my dress was cut up, had holes and lace ripped off. I did not realize this wasn't my last fitting, and it shocked me! (there are 3 fittings; you do not take your dress home until #3). Overall, Cameo and Cufflinks needs to do much better. read more

I am surprised by some of the other reviews on here, I know every day can be different but we had a fabulous experience. We walked in on a Saturday just intending to browse around as we didn't have an appointment but had a ton of time after an appointment at Ethos that went nowhere. They let us in AND squeezed us into an appointment. To people complaining they didn't pull for you, the way I understand the shop is this. They give you and your bridal party five pins and some time to browse their collection - which is organized by designer and by region (North American, International). You can look around and you pin what you want to try, and while you're off in another rack, your consultant pulls the dress you pinned in your dressing room. Based on what she sees you pulling, she might grab another one. While I was there, two consultants each pulled a dress for me based on what they saw me trying on. They were super friendly, helpful, and stayed open for us after closing time. There was no rush and they knew how to get the tough decisions made, which made picking a dress easier. I went in there just to look and ended up finding my dress, and their amazing service was definitely part of it. The shop is on the small side but they do say they are starting renovations. The change areas are all beside each other so you'll have a collective experience, but your party get a bench right in front of your dressing room - which is up slightly higher than them. The consultant then dramatically pulls the curtain open and there you are in front of your party - makes checking reactions super easy and honest. read more

I had a great experience actually trying on dresses at Cameo and Cufflinks... lots of selection, friendly staff. I purchased my dress from there. Then came the alterations, which I could not be more unhappy with. Their in house seamstress (who is rude and standoffish) spent the first 2 fittings telling me all my problems with how the bodice fit were "because the cups weren't in yet." I was unsure, but figured she is the expert. Then on my 3rd fitting, which was just supposed to basically be me trying it on, showing my MOH how to bustle it, and go- the dress did not fit. The bodice was at least an inch to big, and the cups were probably 3 sizes above my natural bra size. In addition to the giant cups, she had inserted a wire to help "support" them- which was clearly visible through the thin fabric, and made me look like Madonna in the 80's! It was horrible. So I had to go back again, 2 days before my wedding to pick it up. She had taken out the wire, but left the giant cups in. I wasn't really happy with it, but it was better than a few days before and I had run out of time so I just had to go with it. I ended up paying her to insert the wire AND remove it, when I can't figure out why it was there in the first place. I am pretty upset I had to pay for it all, but again it was 2 days before my wedding so I didn't really have the luxury to argue about the price of alterations. We just got our pictures back today- I'm not happy with how the dress looks in about 75% of the photos. The cups are obviously too big for my frame, and the bustle didn't move very well- it stuck out as soon as I started walking. It actually fell apart about half an hour into the dance and I ended up just carrying it the rest of the night. In summary- DO NOT have your alterations done there! read more

I visited this store a few weeks ago for the second time in 3 months time with two different wedding parties. Both times, we had amazing experiences. Both sales associates that helped us at the time (I apologize for not knowing their names, one was pregnant) were very very knowledgeable and helpful. This store being one of the first stops for each bride, they weren't too familiar with what they wanted or even what to expect when looking for their dresses. The guidance provided by the sales associates really helped the two brides minimize their stress levels. Although there wasn't a HUGE selection of dresses in comparison to other bridal stores, I must say, the quality of service provided absolutely made up for that. The no-pressure atmosphere was also quite relieving and made them that much more genuine when giving their advice. They weren't just looking for a sale. For the new brides out there, I would absolutely recommend Cameo & Cufflinks to be one of your first stops when shopping for the dress of your big day! I am really disappointed with this place. I tried on a dress at the bridal show and absolutely loved it. I was told I could make an appointment to come in for measurements and to order it. I called them the week after the bridal show to make an appointment for a Sunday. Made the appointment then they called me back and said they needed to cancel my appointment as they were double booked accidentally. Mistakes happen, that's fine. Since they were booked up, the lady I talked to said I would have to wait until the following weekend so we made an appointment for 1pm the following Saturday. When I called back to confirm the appointment the Thursday before, I was told there was no appointment made for me at all and that a 1pm time would not be possible. Ugh. Ok - so I asked what they had. She said they had 4pm only. It didn't really work but I loved the dress so I said ok. Before the lady hung up the phone, she said ok we will see you at 4:30 on Saturday then disconnected the call. I had to call back and ask if she made it for 4:30??? She said no it was 4:00pm. After I thought about it for a while, I decided to call back and cancel my appointment and go elsewhere. This is disappointing because I LOVED that dress, but I really felt very nervous if they can't reserve a simple appointment for me after trying several times then who knows if I would even get the right dress! Not only that I feel with 2 mistakes it would have been nice if they could have found a way to fit me in. I'm sure people who were able to get appointments probably had great experiences with them, but I have to say for me, it wasn't a great experience at all... read more

I wouldn't recommend Cameo & Cufflinks to any bride. I had the worse experience with the owner when I picked up my gown from alterations. I originally purchased the gown off the rack due to time restraints. Brooke was extremely helpful and even gave me 10% off to make the sale. During my fittings, I was told that the seamstress will fix all the loose strings and beads and make it look like new. When I got home and looked over my dress after alterations, I noticed strings and beads still hanging off my gown and I had assumed that it was just overlooked. When I called the store, I spoke to the owner who said that because I purchased the dress off the rack, that is how it comes. I told her I just spent over $500 in alterations and was assured it would look perfect for my wedding. The owner's responded by letting me know that brides usually spend $700-$800 on alterations. So 2 days before I left for my wedding, the owner refused to fix the issue as I didn't spend enough money. She offered me a refund if I returned my dress, but of course 2 days before my wedding I had no choice but to get it fixed somewhere else. I would avoid this store especially if you don't need any extra stress for your big day. read more

I purchased my dress from this store, and if I was allowed, I would return it and buy the same dress elsewhere. I absolutely do not recommend this store to anyone. Their customer service and organization is deplorable. Some examples include: the dress they brought me to try and that I ultimately fell in love with was well beyond the budget we explicitly discussed; they mentioned before I started shopping that any dress bought off the floor is discounted, but rescinded this statement because apparently my dress was 'too new' despite there being some pulls in the lace; they were supposed to fix the pulls in the lace and had to be reminded to do so, and then did a terrible job; they called to tell me my dress was ready to be picked up and I asked them to make sure my veil was with my dress and ready to go, but when I arrived at the store they couldn't find the veil and spent more than 1/2 hour 'looking for it' and it was never found; a sales associate walked to the front of the store with a disheveled looking, wrinkled and torn veil and said 'I found it', when I told her that this veil clearly hadn't been ordered for me and was torn she went back on her statement and said that it was the floor model. The list goes on and on. The best thing I could do was get my dress out of there and have the rest of the work done somewhere else where I could trust the work. I had recently been warned against having my alterations completed there because a seamstress botched someone's dress and blamed the bride for having changed in size too much, and after the experience I have had, I totally believe it. read more

I will NOT recommend this place to anyone! I am part of a wedding party and this place is the only bridal shop that carried the dress the bride wanted. The appointment started out well, but then quickly turned. I proceeded to try on the sample size dress, which was a size eight. I could zip it up, but it was a little tight on my hips. I was then measured and told I was a size 18. (Now remember back how the size 8 zipped up and then lady was telling me I was ten sizes bigger). I explained my side on how that did not make any sense, and how could I be a size 18. At this time one of the other bridesmaids stepped into the conversation. She explained how I could do up the sample size and the liner was all that was tight around my hips. She stated how she thought I would only need a size up. The consultant disagreed and said, "she would not agree that I would be a size ten." With a lot of reluctance, the consultant agreed that I could order a 12. She did make it very clear that she did not agree with my choice of size and there are no refunds. Meanwhile making me feel very self conscious. After five months the dresses finally arrived. This brings me back to the appointment five months ago. We explained that I was moving and needed the dress by January. I am just lucky that I postponed my leaving date. I received my size 12 dress and needless to say I have had to pay 185.00 to have the dress reconstructed because it is so big. I am very disappointed and I could go on for pages about the terrible customer service I received. They left me no choice in purchasing the dress from them because it was the only bridal store in Calgary that carried the specific dress the bride wanted. To all future brides, stay away! read more

Although I did not purchase my dress from Cameo & Cufflinks, they were instrumental in helping me find out that it was "the one"! I had had my eye on "the dress" for months, and emailed every bridal salon in Alberta that carried its designer, and the ONLY salon that offered to help me and bring in a sample of the dress was Cameo. Nicole (the manager) is absolutely wonderful to deal with! She went back and forth with the designer in order to help answer all of my questions and was so great at responding to all my emails. When I decided on my dress, she was there to assist, and was so helpful! She is such a genuinely nice person, and you can tell she really loves helping brides as her job. Although I purchased my dress second-hand from a former bride because I couldn't afford the $4000 price tag, she did absolutely everything she could to discount the dress as much as possible for me. I really got the sense that she truly cared about helping me find my dream dress, unlike a lot of the consultants I dealt with at other salons. I would highly recommend booking an appointment with her! :) read more
