I came to this location to get alterations for my wedding gown. Ms. Chong assisted both myself and my mother with her outfit. I stood on a pedestal for at least an hour while she pinned, measured, nipped, and tucked my dress. She even assisted my mother with her mother of the bride outfit. I'm pretty certain I will be happy with the outcome of the gown when it comes back in a couple weeks. If I'm not, I was told they will continue to alter it until I'm satisfied. I was very excited about my wedding dress appointment. I had not made plans to visit any other stores or boutiques and was happy I found a date at David's Bridal where my aunties and Mom could all gather and help me pick out a dress. Things started off great when the manager came to help identify dresses - however, things went south quickly. The stylist I was assigned disappeared to help another customer in the middle of my appointment (set in advance) even though I was only given one of at least seven requested dresses. I even arrived very early to avoid this. When the stylist finally resurfaced, she claimed she had no knowledge of the list the manager had. What a waste of time. Many of the plus-sized dresses that were available in my size were war-torn. Some smelled very bad and were extremely stained with makeup and deodorant. When I remarked a particular dress didn't smell good, the stylist told me "I guess we'll just have to get you out of it fast". Man - WHAT??? Plus sizes in my desired color and look were in short supply. No one from the store wanted to tell me the truth, that none of the dresses that I wanted to try on were available in my size. I believe they knew that had they been upfront with me, I would not have stayed the entire duration of the appointment. I feel this is a very rude and misleading practice. The stylist even tried to force me into a tiny SIZE 8 (I am a size 16) dress that squeezed my incisions and caused me pain. I had mentioned several times that I am still recovering from surgery, but she did this anyway. I was also brought several dress options that were of no interest to me because the stylist was aware that the store had none of my choices available to try on. It was obvious she was more interested in making a sale - and less interested in what I wanted. My aunt told the manager our budget couldn't exceed $1500. While trying on an $800+ the stylist remarked, "oh that's $859. too bad we don't have any more of our $100 dresses. Those always go the quickest." But no one requested a $100 dress, ma'am soo what - may I ask - are you implying? RUDE! Anywho -- the stylist tried to get me to book a second appointment and I declined as politely as possible. I will NEVER be back. My first and only wedding dress appointment where I could have my family present and it was a true disappointment. read more

We waited the 40 minutes patiently. The woman at the courtesy desk was awesome. The sales consultant named yo-yo was rude, ignorant disrespectful, and could care less with my daughter want it and her needs. Yo-yo, the sales consultant could care less of my daughters opinions. I had a bridal appointment with Kim, she really listened to me when I was describing what I liked and didn't like, and we found my dress!!! It was magical. Then she was able to help me get into a quick appointment for alterations. AMAZING customer service, thank you Kim! For alterations I had Habeeb- he is excellent. I needed my dress taken in a full size, I wanted the original design altered, and I needed a bustle. He made quick work of all of my requests, and he made the dress PERFECT. I had an appointment at Davids Bridal in Bowie, MD to purchase a bridesmaid dress. I was welcomed and greeted upon entry. The basic details of the wedding (date, location, etc) were reviewed and I was assigned to a stylist, Montana. Montana was amazing! She was knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, and helped me select a dress that was perfect for my figure. She also provided a bustier that worked perfectly to provide my bust with a lift and smoothed me out. I instantly looked like I lost 10lbs. Montana was working with several guests at once and was attentive to all of us. Cheers to Montana for great customer service! I found the store to be well-laid out, and neat with a vast selection. I have several weddings that I will be in the bridal party and attending this year and I will definitely be back to purchase again! read more

I called David's bridal to alter a bridesmaid dress that I purchased at another boutique. I called a week ahead to get an appointment. I spoke with two people to get prices and tell them about the dress. I got a reminder call the day before the appointment and clarified that I wouldn't be picking up the dress because I bought it somewhere else. The woman did not speak English very well and it was difficult to understand her, but she confirmed my appointment and when I told her I didn't have a Davids Bridal dress she didn't say anything other than "we'll see you tomorrow." Fast forward to my appointment...they don't accept non-David Bridal Shop dresses. This is a great policy...I only wish that the two separate employees that I spoke with would have conveyed this to me before I drove all the way to the store. I won't be going back again. I spoke with a sales manager and explained what happened and although she was apologetic, she basically blamed me for not making it more clear that I didn't have a David's bridal gown. When I spoke with the seamstress, she didn't apologize at all. All she said in response to me telling her I already explained (twice) that I didn't have a DB dress was "I guess the woman you spoke with didn't understand you." Much better training and customer service is needed at this location. I'm glad I didn't get my dress from here. I ended up getting my dress altered at another location in Bowie (the shoe repair/taylor) shop off of Laurel Bowie road and they take walk-ins, their prices are more affordable, they have a faster turnaround, AND they don't charge you a $25 "rush" fee to have it to you before 2 weeks (like David's Bridal does). read more

I've had to go to this David's quite a bit in preparing for my wedding and everyone is so helpful and friendly. I especially want to highlight Habeeb Azami, Alterations Manager. I made the mistake of ordering my dress (which is now discontinued) in the wrong size. I thought I had gained a tremendous amount of weight but all of my other clothes fit. Habeeb saved my wedding and me from completely having a melt down as I absolutely love my dress. He made some initial adjustments to the dress and it fits like a glove. He also pinned the dress for a bustle which I didn't even know was possible. If COVID wasn't around I would have hugged him!!! I did tell him that I loved him though! I finally found the shoes I wanted for my "Pop-Up" non traditional wedding and Maria at David's Bridal helped me over the phone. I am newly engaged and I am a large-chested bride, I have been struggling to find a style of dress that I love and that flatters my body shape. I was at first greeted by the lovely receptionist who asked if I had an appointment I told her no I didn't and asked if I wanted to make one for 3 pm, and it was 2:30 at this point I told her, yes, and she told me to check-in. She told me I can go ahead and look at dresses after that I was given no further instruction on what to do. After waiting for half an hour it was about 3:06 at this point and it was like they forgot about me, I approached the front desk and asked for assistance and the stylist that was assigned to me told me to call her Yoyo said I would have to wait because she was not time for her to clock in which is understandable but I had to wait an additional 15-20 minutes for her to come over to see me. From here she didn't ask what style I wanted she asked me to just pick out 3 dresses I thought I would like and I was only allowed to try on 3 dresses for my appointment. So after a 4-minute consult on my measurements, I told her what my size might be and she told me dresses ran small so I might have to get a size smaller than what I would be I am between a 12-14, and she was putting me in a 16 and at one point a size 22. And she put me in a dressing room and had me put on a corset bra and told me to let her know if I need a smaller size. I did and it took her a while to find it, she brought over my dresses and put me in 2 things, and then left me alone with my MOH who was helping me to get dresses on. I found one dress that I was in love with and she told me that it would not fit me and that it is made for petite brides. I was extremely discouraged after this comment. So I found another dress that I really liked she brought it over and placed it on my rack and another bride at this point was next to me trying on dresses, the stylist asked me if the other bride could try on that dress before I do, and I was upset about this since I was their first and I asked for the dress first and when I told her no she still brought it over and I didn't get the chance to try it on until the second to last dress I tried on. During this time she left me alone for about 25 minutes in the corset bra and a slip in the dressing room and there I just broke down into tears. And she didn't help me with the rest of my appointment and was worried about helping the other bride out and just ignored me. When I was talking to her about certain alterations she would shut down my ideas and say they are not doable. She really did not help me until the manager came over and saw me extremely upset and frustrated and she really was only worried about me signing up for their loyalty program. Overall this entire experience was upsetting. read more

I walked into this location earlier today in search of a formal dress for an upcoming event. I didn't have an appointment and thought I would just check in and see if I could try on some dresses. I starting picking a few dresses off the rack and Gwen was assigned as my stylist. Once I finished looking through the dresses, Gwen was super helpful! She zipped up the dresses for me, was very attentive, grabbed dresses in other sizes when necessary, and overall ensured the process was pleasant. I must have been there for at least 40-60 mins, but at no point did I feel rushed or feel obligated to make a purchase. I ended up leaving with a gorgeous black dress that I absolutely love! I really like the selection of formal wear they have and will probably return to this store again for my next formal event. read more

I went to this location in July to purchase a bridesmaid dress. I went without an appointment and apparently that was a terrible idea. The sales rep that helped was not attentive. She was busy with another customer while plenty of other sales reps walked around the store putting dresses away. My sales rep recommended that I get a dress two sizes bigger than I normally wear because of my measurements and because they did not have my dress with my size in the store. I went along with her recommendation and bought the dress even though I did not feel confortable with the purchase. When the dress arrived at the store for me to pickup, I asked if I would be eligible for a decrease in the cost of the dress since the price had changed. The female greeter at the door told me that I was not eligible for a credit because it was over 7 days since it was purchased. I proceeded to try the dress on in the store and I spent time with the tailor. The tailor asked why I bougnt such a large dress and when she was done, I was expected to pay $190 in fees for alterations. So I paid $200 for the dress and then another $190 for alterations. After this happened, I called the corporate number on the David's Bridal website. The representative I spoke with was extremely helpful and agreed that my experience was not good. She contacted the manager of the store and I was given a sales price credit of $30 and my alterations were canceled. Also, the corporate representative ordered me the correct sized dress. So, if you go to this store, make sure you have an appointment and be sure to check your measurements on your own. read more

I am quite aware of COVID restrictions and know that business is handled differently during these times. I'm not sure what is going on here or who designed these current guidelines. We arrived on time for a 9 appt, we checked in and were guided to an area to look at dresses. The other bride in the shop had a store attendant. Apparently ours was late however we were not told this. Our attendant did show about 25 min late and immediately told us that our 1 hour would be up soon and that the bride could try on 5 dresses ...... REALLY?! Fortunately my SIL addressed the attendants late arrival and moved forward. The dressing rooms had peeling paint, broken door knobs, inadequate lighting no mirror and no benches to lie personal belongings on. Basically it was a glorified TJ Maxx dressing room. I know that Davids Bridal is not an upscale bridal boutique, however I expected better than that. It was an extremely disappointing experiencing. Had I not been sooo disappointed by the experience, I would not have been motivated to find the dress she liked (already a low price) for a fraction of the cost on line. So maybe I should say thank you for saving us $500. read more

After convincing our friend to try on additional wedding gowns at David's Bridal, we mistakenly chose to go to this location (in Bowie Town Center.) We were told we couldn't walk around the store to look and not to touch anything and if we wanted we could come back later when they were less busy. (The tone and delivering was extremely degrading and rude.) I've had plenty of great experiences at a David's Bridal but anyone who wants a pleasant shopping experience for their wedding should choose a different location. By far the worst experience I've ever had at a bridal store. First of all, wedding dress shopping should be a lovely experience and this was the case for me for ALL the other bridal shops but this one. After all, we are paying 1000+ dollars for one dress. I went to my appointment on time with my fiancee. I was kept waiting for 15 minutes for my stylist. Even after she came to the front door, one of the ladies who, I assume, is managing others sent her back. It was only after I approached the lady who asked my name at the front door she told my stylist that she should be helping me. So it was very unprofessional from the beginning. Then I started telling my stylist about the styles that I like. She didn't seem to understand what "I want something that sits on my waist. I like ball gowns and A lines." meant so I asked her if it was okay for me & my fiancee to browse the dresses in store and show her. She said yes and disappeared after a minute. We continued looking at the dresses and when I found one that I wanted to try on, my stylist was nowhere to be seen. So my fiancee carefully picked the dress to take it to the fitting room. One of the ladies who was sitting at the register saw him and started YELLING at him saying "SIR! SIR! We ask that you don' t pick the dresses by yourself have your stylist do it!" And again, the stylist was not there. I should have left the store right away but I forced myself to be calm and I told my fiancee "nevermind, we're here for a pleasant thing don't let this ruin it" and moved on to try on a couple of dresses. My stylist kept coming and going while I tried the dresses on and I had to call her or look for her around the store each time. When it was time to try on the last dress, she totally disappeared! I tried the dress on and I really liked it. However at this point, there was no way I was going to purchase a dress from this store that I absolutely hate everything about. I took the dress off by myself, left it in the fitting room and only saw my stylist then. In the front door area having a chat with bunch of other employees. While my fiancee and I were looking at that last dress the lady who yelled at him was walking around that area and kept staring at him in despise. Moreover, SHE SAW that my stylist was not there and I was wearing and taking the dresses off by myself but didn't do anything. The same lady who yelled at a customer for violating store policy didn't even warn the actual employee. If it is store policy to have your stylist pick up the dresses for the customers, if you are so professional that you don't let anyone violate this policy, be a little bit more professional and have your stylists do their job. If you are not warning your stylist when she's talking and laughing with other employees at any chance she gets instead of doing her job; but you are "warning" a customer very rudely, I'm not going to get a 1700$ dress from you. read more

I went to David's Bridal this past Saturday to browse wedding dresses for the first time. My appointment time was 12:00 noon and I checked in at the door when I arrived. I was told that my stylist was helping someone else at the moment but she would be with me shortly and that my party (mom, sister, and aunt) could browse around until she was available to help us. We browsed around and found a few that I wanted to try on so we picked them off the rack (in the appropriate size for me). We were quickly told that the stylist should be the one to pick the dresses off. I guess this is for their own organization and so dresses don't get mixed around on the racks. The stylist finally came to assist about 20 minutes later and she took the dresses we had already picked to a dressing room for me. Never once did she ask me what kind of style I was looking for or the purpose of the appointment. She told me to undress and that she would be back after checking on her other customer to help me into the first dress. I stood there undressed in the room for quite some time before finally just putting on the dress myself and having my sister zip it up and button it. She finally came over, said she liked it, and then went back to help the other customer. I went back into the dressing room and again put on the next dress by myself. This continued to happen. I asked her to bring me different styles that I wanted to try and she never did. She seemed to be focused on the other customer much more than me. My sister went to the racks and kept looking for me and brought them over. I also got dressed in my street clothes again and went over and looked. At one point we were asked by another stylist if we were working with a stylist and that they should be pulling the dresses for us. She seemed to be very annoyed that we were browsing and looking ourselves. If the stylists are supposed to be pulling the dresses, then they should do that and not run away and hardly ever come back when I ask for certain styles. My stylist brought ONE dress at the end of the appointment (it wasn't even anything I had asked for) and it was hideous! I tried to have patience with her but I was not going to stand there for lengthy periods of time just waiting for her to finally bring me something when it did not even seem like she was interested in looking. I found a dress that I loved (on my own, picked out the size, put it on myself, took it off myself, etc.) So if I choose it as THE dress, I surely won't be going back to the Bowie store to buy it. read more

I went here over the weekend to pick up a bridesmaid dress for my cousin's wedding. Something about the place was just...depressing. Maybe it was the screaming children running around the store like it was a Toys R Us. Maybe it was the joyless expression on every employee's face. Maybe it was the cramped, scuffed dressing rooms with no mirrors inside, forcing you walk out in your ill-fitting dress onto what can only be described as a fluorescent-lighted stage in front of a wall of mirrors. And, while you try to decide if you could ever wearthis dress for another occasion (don't get your hopes up, we're talking about David's Bridal here) you have listen to whatever comments bystanders feel the urge to contribute. A few hints if you have to shop here: * Almost all of the dresses that they have in stock are size 0 or size 30 and it takes at least 4 weeks for a dress you order to be delivered. Plan accordingly fellow procrastinators * If the bride buys her dress here, all of her bridesmaids get $20 off * Come prepared to hunt through racks with little to no assistence from staff. They are grossly understaffed here, especially on weekends. read more

This weekend as I drove by this David's Bridal location, I was reminded of the bad experiences I've had here and was inspired to spread the word. I was a member of a wedding party for a ceremony in North Carolina. For convenience and price, the bride chose bridesmaid dresses from David's so that those of us not in NC could order and pick up dresses from any location. The fun stops here. I remember being put on hold for long period's of time when trying to set up an appointment. When entering the store for said appointment, the associate sitting at the desk in front of the store was too busy/distracted/rude to even speak to me for an agonizingly long period of time. After locating the dress, I was shown a fitting room and left to completely fend for myself. Isn't the point of an appointment to at least have someone there to zip you into a dress? I popped my head out of my room...I waited...nobody ever returned. I ended up phoning my husband who was at a store nearby so he could come zip me up so I could tell if the dress fit! When the dress came in I never received a phone call indicating it was ready, I had to call up to check after the expected date had passed. When I returned to the store to pick it up, the same scenario as above repeated itself. The customer service I received at this location...or lack there of...was terrible. I am the bride, and I paid my first visit a few weeks ago. I picked out a gown that I told Tracee Quander I wanted to "sleep on" (in other words, wasn't ready to finalize my decision at that point). She promised that she would place the dress on my profile (by number? I don't know how exactly they track all of their gowns), and we made an appointment for Saturday, August 6, when she said she would be in. This would be a "second fitting," where I would decide whether I wanted the gown, and, if so, which alterations needed to be done. Because of Metro's Safe Track, I was an hour late on Saturday, but I called ahead of time to warn that I would be. When I got there, they made me wait for another hour, before telling me that Tracee wasn't there, and that she hadn't bothered to enter my gown on my profile. So instead of purchasing my gown, which I had decided in this time that I did in fact want, I went home empty-handed. I called the regional manager to report my experience, and have yet to hear back from her. I am turning to Borrowing Magnolia, instead of dealing with this company any further. read more

The WORST David's Bridal I have ever been to in my life! The lack of professionalism and the asinine comments made by their "staff/team" has really made me truly dislike all things David's Bridal related. I will NEVER do business with this company again. 1. The staff are not well informed about wedding gowns. 2. Alterations was a joke! They messed up my Vera Wang gown by adding obnoxious buttons to the back without my approval and then acted as though they didn't know how to fix it when I asked for them to remove them! My dress my not shortened evenly around the bottom...so much so that I got irate even looking at it. My wedding planner had to give them a solution to fix my gown and even then they acted like they did not have the intelligence to correct it properly!!!! The head of alterations (Hwa) returned to work and that was the only person I wanted to deal with after the initial mess up and she was very apologetic and corrected the mess up her team made. 3. I ordered my veil and never received a phone call or email stating my veil had arrived. I ended up speaking to the corporate office to find out that my veil had been sitting in that store for a damn month! Ugh! This is hands down the most ghetto, unorganized, and unkept store I have ever given my business to. I am so upset that I purchased my wedding gown from this store and let them do my alterations. Worst decision ever!!!!! I will NEVER give them anymore of my business again. Do yourself a favor and go to a reputable bridal boutique if you are in search of quality customer service. read more

I have made two appointments here (mind you they were made during the work week...), I get here on time and once I get there I'm waiting around for a good 30 minutes until I could get someone to help me. For some reason they have a staffing issue and claim that they don't have enough people to help everyone... The store, overall, isn't that clean and is a little dark, but what can you do when you have florescent lights? To add to what previous posters say, they DO leave you to dress yourself. What's the point in making an appointment if no one is coming to help you? I had a dress on layaway, but changed my mind about the dress and exchanged it for something else which was cheaper. Unknown to me, you apparently had to pay off the layaway dress and THEN go through the issue of having to exchange the new dress with the old one. That was a huge pain and it took incredibly too long. The whole process was confusing and unnecessarily long. Overall, I would not recommend this store and you're probably better off elsewhere. read more

So I bought my gown and all My bridesmaids dresses through this place. I ordered a bridesmaid dress for one of my girls in February, they said it will be in by April 18. So today, April 19, I call and ask where this dress is. After being talked to like I was a complete moron, and five disrespectful "maams" later, she proceeds to tell me she needs to know who told me it would be there by April 18. I don't freakin know lady, one of your fellow intelligent co workers obviously. Overall, this place is a bust and I pretty much spent 20 minutes talking to myself because these people don't know how to read a computer. As soon as I get this one dress (hopefully before the wedding), I am never stepping into that garbage location again. read more

I took my grandma here to find a Mother of the Bride Dress. Maria assisted us and was great. She listened to my Grandma and offered suggestions. Grandma liked the first dress she tried on and was happy with the total package. I wished we had a bit more to choose from, but thats not Maria's fault. Reasons why you should never go to this store in Bowie: 1. They don't care about you after you purchase something. I was waiting for my orders and learned that they ordered the wrong size. I called 4 times to get a hold of somebody. They made me hold more than 20 minutes. Still no answer. But guess what? They still answered the phone when I hung up the phone and called them again. 2. They do not have many bridal dresses available in their store. I had over 20 bridal dresses saved as my favorite online. Once they took a look at my list, they said they only have three. You know what's worse? They start bringing expensive dresses, making me feel that they only have those expensive dresses (over $1300-$1500) available. I am not saying that dresses priced $1300-1500 are ridiculously expensive. I am saying that you don't expect to buy expensive dresses in David's Bridal. (We know we can get cheaper dresses in David's Bridal) 3. They lied to me about online transaction / discount code. I knew I could use my discount code online. In fact, I could order my dress and other accessories online because they were available. They made me believe that they cannot put in my discount code in their system and also said the code is not valid for the type of my dress. I tried it with my smart phone and learned that they were lying. It was only after I showed them the proof, they offered me a discount. Tip: If your dress is available online, please order it online. You can easily get promotion (discount) code by searching online (Just google it!). Just try as many dresses as possible at the store and order the dress and accessories online! This is the BEST David's Bridal in the "Southern Maryland" area. Skip Waldorf, don't even waste your time. The team at Bowie is top notch.

So I was skeptical in going to this David's Bridal location because of the bad experience that my friends and I went through the weekend prior (David's Bridal Rockville) especially if I have to drive from Alexandria, VA all the way to Bowie. That's quite a distance! But we took a risk and was very pleased with the way they handled our appointment. This location is much bigger than the Rockville branch so there's more space for you to check and see if the dress fits you well without having to rub elbows with another person. Also, we were late for our appointment (due to traffic) but they assisted us graciously. I was almost in tears when my friend (bride) found and got to fit her dress. It was like tailored especially for her. Karla was the consultant and she seems to be really knowledgeable with what she's doing. She did not rush us and made sure we were happy before we left. read more

I purchased my own bridal gown from this David's 5 years ago, however, this time, I was looking to purchase a Flower Girl dress for my daughter in an upcoming wedding! Because I had such short notice, I was able to make an appointment and get her a dress on Clearance! So easy breezy!! My daughter looked totally adorable in her little gown!! However, I do think that some of the staff have an attitude about working with the customers!! When I walked in, I was not greeted very well! I didn't feel welcome! When I walked into the Bridal Salon, they didn't know what I was there for, but there were consultants just standing around like they didn't want to be there! Because this was short notice for me, I just got the dress and got out of there! However, I will choose to go to Rockville or even Glen Burnie if I ever have to go to David's again! I just didn't like the attitude of the staff here! But on a brighter note, our specific consultant was very nice and helpful for what its worth!! Today I returned to David's Bridal to purchase shoes. When I came the first time I was greeted by everyone in the store. Today, I wasn't acknowledged by one single person and I was in the store a good hour from area to area as I was also looking for another dress and ready to purchase. This has changed my perception of DB, this isn't for the better. I saw them all over the other guests... Today I felt invisible. So glad I made my large purchase at the other location in Waldorf, every time I go into that store, their customer service is consistent and they are always ready to help. I've sent a great deal of business to both locations due to service received previously. Note: A customer even acknowledged that she noticed I'd been waiting after finishing with their associate. Their associate didn't acknowledge me at all and told someone else to come over and help me. When asked who helped me, I gave her a bold NO ONE to let her hear my disappointment in the DB Brand in that moment. read more
